Things have changed, but Lydia Ko says not enough. Mallon would win that title in 1991, collecting the first six-figure payout in women’s golf history. Pepper says, “That was a big deal.” Three decades later, Pepper can hardly comprehend that the top female golfers in the world will be competing this week for a record $10 million purse. That includes a winner’s take of $1.8 million at the U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles. Welcome in Slumpbusters! On today's episode Kyle & Ju-Ju have a loaded slate of topics to discuss. We breakdown the World Series so far, the biggest game in college football this season, update Kyle's NBA power rankings and preview NFL Week 8. We start off by addressing the Bengals moving to 5-2 following a big win in Baltimore. Can the Bengals sustain this early season success and make a run in this years playoffs?  Charlie Morton pitched in game one of the World Series but had to unfortunately depart due to a broken leg. Morton didn't initially leave the game after the injury, he stayed in to retire the next three batters McCormick, Maldonado and Altuve. Morton's Braves would take home field advantage away from the Houston Astros in the World Series.  College Football has an incredible game as two undefeated teams in the Big-10 conference will play this weekend. Jim Harbaugh's Michigan Wolverine's team will take on Mel Tucker's Michigan State Spartans. Both programs are 7-0 which is the best record both schools will entire with in the history of their football programs. Sparty is led by Heisman candidate Kenneth Walker. Walker had over 900 yards on the ground for the Spartans and nine rushing touchdowns. Not to be outdone Michigan has a dynamic running game featuring Blake Corrum and Hassan Haskins. Will the difference lie in coaching, quarterback play or the defenses when these instate rivals battle for potentially a spot in this years College Football Playoffs? #B1GConference We preview the following games in our next segment: Pittsburgh Steelers (+4) @ Cleveland Browns Tennessee Titans (-1) @ Indianapolis Colts New England Patriots (+5.5) @ Los Angeles Chargers Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5) @ New Orleans Saints Dallas Cowboys (-3) @ Minnesota Vikings We close up by taking a look at Kyle's NBA Power Rankings. Who will be the biggest riser / biggest faller after the first couple weeks. Are the Chicago Bulls a Top-10 team? Has Milwaukee leap frogged Brooklyn for the number one spot? Are the Celtics going to tread water in the NBA's middle tier again this season? Enjoy the pod and don't forget to subscribe! If so, which 12-1 squad do the guys believe would make the playoff, Oregon or Ohio State? Caleb Williams will be the first to test out Texas Tech's new regime. Will he and the Sooners bounce back after an uninspiring win? Ari's still off the Texas wagon, but are they so bad that they're a three-point underdog to Baylor? Will Pitt continue to be legit versus Miami? Big news yesterday from the MSHSL concerning state competition at the high school level: it's going to happen. Zeke breaks down the dates and locations for winter state sports: skiing, dance, gymnastics, swim and dive, wrestling, basketball, and hockey. Speaking of wrestling: two more matches, two more wins for DL Wrestling last night on KDLM, beating OTC and Frazee. Charlie had a chance to talk to Wrestling coach Rob Ullyott after his #11 Detroit Lakes Lakers beat Frazee 43-18 at the Ralph Anderson Gymnasium last night. The Twins have made another move, trading outfielder Lamonte Wade Jr to San Francisco for reliever Shaun Anderson. Anderson has a NASTY slider...nasty in a good way. The Gophers became the latest team to blow a fourth-quarter, losing to Rutgers last night to fall to 0-6 on the road. This Gopher team has beaten #7 Ohio State, #8 Iowa, and #4 Michigan (Michigan's only loss...) but is still only 4-7 in the Big Ten. In the second half of the Wrap, Zeke talks with Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press about the Minnesota Timberwolves' latest fourth-quarter collapse, when we could see Juancho and KAT back on the floor, offensive play-calling and what to expect in back-to-back games in Oklahoma City this weekend.
