Supreme Court's Biggest Pending Cases: Birthright Citizenship, Gender Care, Religion, and Discrimination

Passing Judgment

In this episode of Passing Judgment, Jessica Levinson previews the Supreme Court's most anticipated pending cases as the term nears its end. She highlights upcoming decisions on nationwide injunctions, Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for minors, evolving standards in discrimination lawsuits, and major cases involving religious exemptions and parental rights in education. Jessica offers her predictions and insight on how these rulings could shape the law and impact daily life, setting the stage for a dramatic finale to the Supreme Court term. Here are three key takeaways you don't want to miss:Nationwide Injunctions – Trump v. Washington/New Jersey/California: This case tackles whether federal district courts can issue nationwide injunctions blocking federal policies, as opposed to limiting decisions to just the plaintiffs in the case. The backdrop is Trump's executive order on birthright citizenship, which attempts to limit who qualifies as a citizen by birth.Transgender Rights and Equal Protection – Skrmetti: The Court is considering whether Tennessee's ban on certain gender-affirming treatments for minors violates the Fourteenth Amendment's Equal Protection Clause. The predicted outcome is that the Court may allow such state restrictions, but notes there could be future challenges regarding parental rights under a different part of the Fourteenth Amendment.Religious Objections in Public Schools – Parental Opt-Outs for LGBTQ-Inclusive Curriculum: A Maryland case considers if public schools must offer opt-outs for parents whose religious beliefs conflict with LGBTQ-inclusive materials and lessons. The prediction: the Court may require such opt-outs under the Free Exercise Clause, but will need to write the opinion carefully to avoid overly broad exemptions.Follow Our Host and Guest: @LevinsonJessica

US Supreme Court justices spent a lot of time last week discussing the meaning of LGBTQ-themed books that parents in a Maryland public school district say interfere with the religious rearing of their children. One book, “Uncle Bobby's Wedding,” was a focal point of the April 22 arguments in Mahmoud v. Taylor. The justices questioned whether mere exposure to things a parent disagrees with burdens their religious rights. Cases and Controversies hosts Kimberly Robinson and Lydia Wheeler take listeners through the proceedings and why they signal the parents are likely to win this case against books Montgomery County Public Schools say are meant to foster mutual respect for others in a pluralistic educational community.  Should public school parents have the right to opt their children out of lessons featuring LGBTQ+ storybooks? The U.S. Supreme Court is considering this question in a case where parents from diverse religious backgrounds argue that Maryland's Montgomery County Public Schools violated their First Amendment rights by eliminating opt-out options for such content. During oral arguments, conservative justices appeared sympathetic to the parents' concerns about moral messaging, while liberal justices cautioned against the potential for widespread educational disruptions if opt-outs are broadly permitted.

Emily Kircher-Morris talks with Barbara Pape, Senior Director of the Learner Variability Project, about the concept of learner variability. The conversation touches on the importance of recognizing each student's unique strengths and challenges. They explore how educators can support neurodivergent learners through personalized instruction, they cover the role of technology in education, and talk about the need for a sense of belonging in the classroom. The discussion also touches on the barriers educators face in addressing learner variability and the evolution of educational policy to better support diverse learners. TAKEAWAYS Learner variability is the recognition that each student has unique strengths and challenges. Teaching to the middle does not effectively reach any student. Understanding learner variability allows educators to see design challenges rather than student problems. The Learner Variability Navigator is a tool for educators to understand and support diverse learners. Creating a sense of belonging is crucial for student engagement and success. Students should have agency in how their accommodations are presented to peers. Belonging in the classroom requires a whole child approach. Educational policy must evolve to provide adequate support for neurodivergent learners. Barbara Pape is the Senior Director of the Learner Variability Project at Digital Promise, where she led a national survey on learner variability, edtech, and teacher practice, authored the defining paper on learner variability, and co-developed the IEP Project, which emphasizes strength-based, whole-child approaches to writing IEPs. She also hosts a monthly edWeb webinar series and previously served as executive producer of the award-winning Teaching & Learning conference for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Her background includes roles in public policy, having worked on former U.S. Senator Paul Simon's Senate and Presidential campaign, as well as in the U.S. Senate on the Education and Labor Committee. Barbara has contributed to numerous publications and was the editor and publisher of the first electronically delivered education newsletter, The Daily Report Card. She serves on the boards of Benetech and The Riley Project and is involved in multiple education and learner variability working groups. Previously, she was an advisor for the Kennedy Center's Intersection of the Arts and Special Education and a strategic planning committee member for Montgomery County Public Schools. She is currently pursuing a PhD at University College London, holds an EdM in reading and literacy from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education, and began her career as a middle school language arts teacher. The New Hampshire Senate has passed HB1205, which restricts transgender girls from participating in girls' sports in public schools from grades 5 to 12. The bill, supported by Republicans and opposed by Democrats, also prohibits athletic associations like the NHIAA from addressing complaints about gender segregation enforcement in sports. Additionally, it allows students harmed by non-compliance to sue schools. Governor Sununu has expressed agreement with the bill's goals but has not confirmed if he will sign it. Advocates urge the public to contact the Governor's office to support the bill. The Cobb County School Board in Georgia, facing backlash for removing books with sexually explicit content from school libraries, has stood firm. Since September 2023, when explicit materials were first removed, critics have pushed to oust Superintendent Chris Ragsdale. Despite this, in early 2024, the board reviewed 23 additional books for explicit content. Superintendent Ragsdale maintains a strict stance against such materials in education, emphasizing a moral binary in the debate. Supporters are urged to contact him and board members to express backing.A federal appeals court ruled that Maryland's Montgomery County Public Schools do not have to let parents opt their K-5 children out of LGBTQ-related curriculum. The 2-1 decision by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court's denial of a preliminary injunction, arguing that exposure to contrary ideas, even for religious reasons, does not violate the First Amendment. The court stated that this exposure is part of the compromise of public schooling. This decision affects parents from various faiths and a parental rights group.California's Assembly Bill 1955, introduced by Assemblyman Chris Ward, prohibits school districts from mandating staff to notify parents if a student appears to be transgender. This bill aims to prevent "forced outing" of LGBTQ students and protect employees from district retaliation. It includes provisions for counseling and mental health services for affected students and families. Having undergone significant amendments, AB1955 will require further approvals in both the Senate and Assembly before potentially being signed by the governor.Affiliate Shoutout: Sara Olsen Local Affiliate Leader Affiliate Location: Galesville Ettrick Trempealeau, Wisconsin  Bio: Sara became a PRE affiliate because her goal is to leave a legacy not only for her kids and future grandkids but for all kids! Jenn and Lindsey talk about weight loss resistance and fat loss resistance and how it is all connected to what's happening within the gut. Tune in to learn more about gut health, probiotics, fiber and more! The Salad With a Side of Fries podcast is hosted by Jenn Trepeck, discussing wellness and weight loss for real life, clearing up the myths, misinformation, bad science & marketing surrounding our nutrition knowledge and the food industry. Let's dive into wellness and weight loss for real life, including drinking, eating out, and skipping the grocery store. IN THIS EPISODE: ● [3:47] How did Lindsey get started with her specialty of stool and gut health? ● [5:40] Lindsey talks about the connection between gut health and the immune system/autoimmune issues.● [8:40] How do you handle bloating and what is the cause of it? ● [11:52] How do you manage chronic diarrhea or constipation? ● [13:37] What is the “perfect stool”?● [17:00] How is weight loss resistance or fat loss resistance connected to what's happening in the gut? ● [19:03] How does candida tie in to gut issues?● [22:02] What is slow motility in the small intestine and large intestine? ● [22:46] How do you know when you should add more fiber in your diet?● [25:32] When should you use probiotics? ● [28:05] How can people go about testing on their own?● [28:57] Lindsey talks about a few more items that help the gut. KEY TAKEAWAYS: ● [5:59] For an autoimmune issue to become active, generally the body has to become weakened in order for the autoimmune issue to flare up. This could be leaky gut or intestinal hyperpermeability, or a gut infection. ● [9:58] If you suspect that you have GI issues, first start with a gastroenterologist to clear any major issues such as cancer. Once that is cleared, then you test with a gastroenterologist who is educated in SIBO or find a functional medicine doctor who can run tests such as a GI Map. ● [23:47] Fruits and vegetables are the best source for fiber, but the real powerhouses diet-wise are going to be your beans, lentils and chickpeas. You're never going to get enough fiber unless you eat those foods in your diet regularly. QUOTES: “A leaky gut is allowing out these antigens, be they parts of gram negative bacteria called lipopolysaccharides, which create inflammation, or they might be partly digested food particles like gluten, which is something that really resembles your thyroid gland. So therefore, Hashimoto's thyroiditis is one of the most common autoimmune disease because the body sees that thing come out of your intestines, not digested, full protein, and thinking that doesn't belong here, attacks it, and then says what else looks like that in the body, oh well your thyroid gland, so let me attack that too.” - Lindsey Parsons “When I'm at my worst, I can look six months pregnant easily. So, bloating is very much associated with SIBO. If somebody says they're bloated and it's every day, and usually unless they're following a very strict diet that doesn't have any high FODMAP foods, then typically you're going to be looking at SIBO and that may have been diagnosed as IBS because it may then go along with diarrhea or constipation or other GI issues.” - Lindsey Parson“If you're just a generally healthy person who maybe is just a little bit constipated, you probably do need to add some more fiber to your diet. Fruits and vegetables being the best source, but really the powerhouses diet-wise are going to be your beans and your lentils and your chickpeas, those kinds of foods.” - Lindsey Parsons"If you have low stomach acid and you're not breaking apart your proteins properly then you're probably not getting enough l-carnitine...one of the two essential nutrients needed to take fatty acids and...turn them into energy." - Lindsey Parsons"Typically it starts with some sort of trigger, like a stressful period in your life or a period of antibiotics, which weakens your immune system, raises your cortisol, which raises your blood sugar and then...you see dysbiosis, too many pathogenic bacteria and not enough commensal bacteria and then you start to see overgrowths of candida...which may cause sugar cravings or carb cravings." - Lindsey Parsons"The symptoms you're experiencing are your body communicating with you...let's listen and support it because our gut health translates into our overall health." - Jenn Trepeck   RESOURCES:Down and Dirty Part 1Down and Dirty Part 2Become A Member of Salad with a Side of FriesJenn's Free Menu PlanA Salad With a Side of FriesA Salad With A Side Of Fries MerchA Salad With a Side of Fries InstagramGUEST RESOURCES:High Desert Health Coach WebsiteGut Healing Facebook GroupHigh Desert Health Facebook PageHigh Desert Health Instagram PageHigh Desert Health YouTubeLindsey's SupplementsFree E-Booklet “Finding Your Root Cause Through Stool and Organic Acids Testing” Free Quiz to see Which Stool or Functional Medicine Test Will Help You Find the Root Cause of your Gut Health IssuesLindsey's Rupa Health Lab StoreBIO:Lindsey Parsons, EdD is a Certified Health Coach working out of Tucson, Arizona. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (01/09/2024): 3:05pm- On Tuesday, a three-judge panel from the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit heard arguments to determine the validity of Donald Trump's presidential immunity defense in his federal election subversion indictment. Two of the judges on the panel are Democratic appointees—Judge J. Michelle Childs and Judge Florence Y. Pan. Though, the third judge—Judge Karen L. Henderson—seemed equally unconvinced by the Trump team's legal argument. 3:15pm- Charlie Savage and Alan Feuer of The New York Times write: “Judge [Florence Y.] Pan asked [Donald Trump's Attorney John] Sauer to address a series of hypotheticals intended to test the limits of his position that presidents are absolutely immune from criminal prosecution over their officials acts, unless they have first been impeached and convicted by the Senate over the same matter. Among them, she asked, what if a president ordered SEAL Team 6, the Navy commando unit, to assassinate a president's political rival? Mr. Sauer said such a president would surely be impeached and convicted, but he insisted that courts would not have jurisdiction to oversee a murder trial unless that first happened.” You can read more here: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/09/us/politics/trump-immunity-hearing-takeaways.html?smid=url-share 3:30pm- Following Tuesday's Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit hearing, former president Donald Trump said that if his presidential immunity argument is proven to be unfounded then former president Barack Obama could, and should, be prosecuted for covert drone strikes he ordered in the Middle East—including one that resulted in the death of an American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki. The strikes were conducted without congressional approval. 3:40pm- Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spent several days in an intensive care unit at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland following elective surgery—though the precise surgery has not been disclosed. Alarmingly, the White House—including President Joe Biden—was not informed of Secretary Austin's incapacitation for more than three days. Equally concerning, while Secretary Austin was in intensive care, Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks was on vacation in Puerto Rico. Will anyone be held accountable for this disastrous breakdown in communication? Secretary Austin released a statement on Saturday addressing the issue: “I am very glad to be on the mend and look forward to returning to the Pentagon soon. I also understand the media concerns about transparency and I recognize I could have done a better job ensuring the public was appropriately informed. I commit to doing better.” On Tuesday, it was announced that Secretary Austin has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. 4:05pm- Zack Smith—Legal Fellow and Manager of the Supreme Court and Appellate Advocacy Program in the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit hearing arguments on Tuesday to determine the validity of Donald Trump's presidential immunity defense in his federal election subversion indictment. If the presidential immunity defense is dismissed, does that mean former president Barack Obama could be held accountable for his authorization of drone strikes which resulted in the death of an American citizen? 4:25pm- On a recent episode of The Journal podcast, New Hampshire voters revealed that they are changing their party affiliation from Democrat to Republican prior to the state's January 23rd primary. Because they can't vote for their preferred candidate—Joe Biden—as he won't appear on the ballot following a Democrat National Committee feud with the state over scheduling dates, many Democrat voters are now registering as Republicans in order to vote against Donald Trump, supporting rival candidates like Nikki Haley and Chris Christie. Democrats have seemingly destroyed their own New Hampshire primary, are they impacting the Republican primary as well? 4:35pm- During a Fox News town hall event on Monday, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley accused her primary opponent Donald Trump of orchestrating chaos. 4:40pm- Lisa Kashinsky of Politico writes: “The New Hampshire attorney general's office is accusing the Democratic National Committee of engaging in unlawful voter suppression after the national party dismissed the state's upcoming primary as ‘meaningless.' Assistant Attorney General Brendan O'Donnell on Monday fired off a cease-and-desist order to the DNC, saying that instructing state Democrats to ‘educate the public' that the primary is ‘meaningless' violates the state's voter suppression laws.” You can read the full article here: https://www.politico.com/news/2024/01/08/new-hampshire-attorney-general-dnc-voter-suppression-primary-00134378 4:45pm- Steven Nelson and Josh Christenson of The New York Post write: “First son Hunter Biden's Manhattan art dealer shared details Tuesday about purchasers of the first son's novice works—while contradicting the White House's claim that officials brokered an ethics arrangement to keep buyer identities anonymous to prevent corruption. Welcome to another episode of the Parents' Rights Podcast. In today's episode, we dive into recent developments in education that have raised concerns about parental involvement and the influence of ideological agendas in schools.First, we discuss a significant event in California, where Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill preventing schools from banning or censoring books over concerns about racial or sexual themes. This law imposes fines on schools that disobey it, sparking a debate about freedom of speech and education.Next, we explore the case of Montgomery County Public Schools blocking the Twitter account of "Inside the Classroom," a watchdog group that exposed a teacher condemning the concept of parents' rights as "fascism." This incident sheds light on the growing presence of leftist ideologies in schools. We also touch on Christopher Rufo's latest expose, "Cluster B Society," which discusses the infiltration of psychological dysfunction in our institutions. This leads us to reflect on the ideological saturation in K-12 public schools, highlighting unfair policies and incidents that raise questions about justice and morality. In the second part of the episode, we discuss the significance of November as Parents' Rights in Education Month. We encourage parents across America to challenge their school boards to adopt a proclamation supporting parental involvement in policy and curriculum decisions. We also delve into the importance of presenting diverse viewpoints in education to create truly inclusive environments.Lastly, we provide a step-by-step guide on how to advocate for parental rights within your local school board, emphasizing the importance of community involvement and collaboration.Join us in our mission to recognize November as Parents' Rights in Education Month and ensure that parents have a vital role in shaping their children's education. About Miriam Plotinsky Miriam Plotinsky is an instructional specialist with Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland, where she has taught and led for more than 20 years. She is the author of Teach More, Hover Less, Lead Like a Teacher, and Writing Their Future Selves (W.W. Norton & Company). She is also a National Board–Certified Teacher and a certified administrator. What You'll Find in this Educational Leadership Podcast Episode with Miriam Plotinsky Miriam says that her new book--Lead Like a Teacher--was pretty much an accident. She simply found that the schools with more teachers at the table had stronger cultures. She talked about teachers' misconception of school leaders as well as school leaders' misconception of teachers. She called this “the empathy gap.” Miriam points out that “if you don't know the story, you'll create one. And, it might be wrong.” Miriam acknowledges that we often learn from the models we have around us, which is only a good thing when the model is effective. Otherwise it works against us. Hear Miriam discuss why visibility is so critical for a school leader. Miriam gave us some insights into how the book unfolds, including what she calls “macro” and “micro” aspects of school leadership. She calls for more classroom visits. We couldn't agree more. Don't miss what she says about “Wait Time 1” and “Wait Time 2” as both teaching and leadership strategies. We can't disagree with talking less to learn more. Miriam mentions Twitter as a place to go to find like-minded people and new ideas. She identifies some well known and not so well known resources that are valuable for all educators. She points to Teachers Going Gradeless as a cool organization. She also calls out Edutopia and ASCD as well as Solution Tree as great resources. Miriam uses the ten-minute reset each day to make sure that she does something that she loves. Tune into what she says about movement and breaks. She talks about being a “dabbler” in a bunch of things, and she wants to learn how to write more nonfiction. And, we all agreed to learn how to be more funny. Joe reflects on the need to get more people involved early in our process for any given initiative. Don't miss what she used to think about those who wanted to go into administration and how her perspective has changed. This is the first episode in a series of three talking about Christianity and the Church today. The hope for this series is to go beyond denomination and institution.  The purpose is to dive into hard topics that come up as challenges for Christians and Church culture today; and simply talk about it with Christian leaders. In this episode, Reverend Timothy B. Warner is sharing his wisdom, insight and experience as a Church Leader with us. We are talking about the demands of discipleship, church hypocrisy, and can we Christians really be Jesus like? (And so much more!) Reverend Timothy B. Warner was called to the gospel ministry while serving as a Deacon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Rockville, MD in 1996. He was licensed to preach in 1998 and ordained to pastoral ministry after he completed his Master of Divinity degree at Wesley Theological Seminary in 2003. Reverend Warner was trained as a bacterial geneticist and enjoyed a productive career in pharmaceutical research and development, where he held various scientific and executive leadership positions for over 18 years before committing to full-time ministry. He has served as the Associate Council Director for Community and Economic Development in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, on the staff of the Montgomery County Executive in his Office of Community Partnerships as the Community Liaison for the African American and Faith Communities, and as Chief Engagement and Partnership Officer for Montgomery County Public Schools. He is a frequent lecturer in community engagement for several graduate schools, and has received Wesley Theological Seminary's Urban Ministry Distinguished Alumnus Award.  Rev. Warner is proud to have served for the last 9 years as Senior Pastor of the Emory Grove United Methodist Church in Gaithersburg, MD, where he is a co-founder of the Racial Justice Coalition. Most recently, he has founded The Heritage Emory Grove Community Development Corporation which is leading in a partnership to redevelop the historical Emory Grove community and restore a sense of authentic community.  He also serves as the Director for Faith Relations at Habitat for Humanity of Metro Maryland where he helps to engage faith communities in the justice ministry of affordable housing in Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties. He believes in the power of prayer, and attributes whatever success that has been ascribed to his ministry to the great many conversations so many have had with God on his behalf.  Rev. Warner shares an extreme sense of pride in the family God has given him with his wife, Paula, of nearly 4 decades.  I would love to hear from you!  Leave me a message via Anchor at:  https://anchor.fm/momcourage/message or send me an email at info@kariprmozic.com. What does it take to create a classroom environment in which students take the initiative in their learning and teachers can let go of the 'exhaustive hyper control' that so often leads to burnout? Miriam Plotinsky has written an engaging, honest and practical book that offers a pathway for teachers who want to make this happen. In this interview, we discuss four stages that Plotinsky identifies as crucial to increasing student autonomy: a teacher mindset shift, the development of deeper relationships, planning for meaningful engagement and choice-based, hands-off instruction.  While informed by research, Hover Less, Teach More: How to Stop Micromanaging Your Secondary Classroom (Norton, 2022) draws strongly on Plotinsky's school-based experience as a teacher and instructional specialist and leaves behind academic jargon. It addresses essential questions in classroom teaching practice in a pithy way that will speak to time-poor teachers seeking fresh ideas. Our image of a classroom community in secondary education is rapidly evolving. The experience of remote learning during a pandemic has altered our mental picture of students occupying rows of desks with a teacher nearby, closely monitoring their activities. But even when teachers are able to be in physical proximity to their students, the research is clear that students need to be empowered to take ownership of their learning in order to be fully engaged. The question this book explores is: How can teachers step back, stop micromanaging, and allow students more agency? In this engaging guide, instructional specialist Miriam Plotinsky breaks hover-free teaching down into four sequential stages: mindset, deeper relationships, planning for engagement, and choice-based instruction. Her book shows how teachers can free themselves from helicopter habits and allow students greater control of their own learning, while still managing and maximizing classroom time effectively.Miriam Plotinsky is an instructional specialist with Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland, and the author of Teach More, Hover Less: How to Stop Micromanaging Your Secondary Classroom. Maureen Fox, a Montgomery County parent of a child at Sherwood Elementary, joined WMAL's "O'Connor and Company" radio program on Tuesday about how her child's school was sending home unvaccinated students.  Ms. Fox says she reached out to MCPS multiple times to push back on this. Last week, Sherwood Elementary School in Montgomery County Public Schools sent home all of the fifth graders who are not vaccinated and are allowing them back on Monday. The rest of the school will have to mask for two weeks. The kids sent home without instruction did not necessarily have COVID or even any symptoms. We've heard that Chevy Chase Elementary also did something similar in the last week or two as well as another school in Damascus (Clearspring). None of this is in line with what the Board of Education has voted on or policies in place.  For more coverage on the issues that matter to you, visit www.WMAL.com, download the WMAL app or tune in live on WMAL-FM 105.9 FM from 5-9 AM ET. Perception does not mean reality

In this episode, I examine several current news stories through the prism of a misnomer – that perception is reality. That's not true, nor has it ever been. Perception causes a belief in a reality, but it is false. The misconception is created in a person's mind, but that does make it a fact. I start by quoting a school board member for the Montgomery County Public Schools in Rockville, MD. With the knowledge the CDC would likely be greatly reducing the mask guidance, they discussed it's meaning for the school system. Ms. O'Looney actually stated she did not care what the data says, because she believes it is more important to put perception over reality. I'm not making that up. She wants to prevent children who have been lied to this long about the effectiveness of masks from hearing the truth and risk them feeling anxious about it. Shouldn't the answer be to admit they were wrong and tell the students the truth? Why are the wanting to keep the “perception” in place when that, in and of itself, is what is really causing the anxiety? Ms. O'Looney is guilty of projecting her own fears onto others rather than dealing with them herself. And we see this very thing happening in administrations around the world. In Canada, where Prime Minister Trudeau was so quick to create the perception that the Freedom Convoy were enemies of the state, he seized their accounts. Now, days after saying the “emergency” is over, accounts are still frozen. In New Zealand, the self-appointed health dictator, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern continued to fuel the perception that lock-downs and mandates not only work, but also are necessary for the good of all. She has been doubling-down on the vaccines and boosters and masks without regard for liberty, freedom or due process. Thankfully, the New Zealand high court left her reeling on Friday after ruling her vaccine mandates represented a “gross violation of human rights” for New Zealanders. I bring it all to a close with an examination of the White House and the sanctions placed on Russia. The perception is President Biden is being tough of Russia and the legacy media is playing the role of helping to spread that propaganda. The reality is, we have been and are still importing 600,000 barrels of oil a day from Russia. Our sanctions do not in any way affect anything to do with Russia's energy sector. We are not hurting them. We are funding their war operation because we don't want to produce our own oil. The Biden administration has given the extremist environmentalist movement a perception we are reducing drilling to appease them, only to fund our enemies by buying fossil fuels from them. We are caught in a cycle of letting politicians create fantasies they desperately want to be true, who then turn around and sell them to us as if they are true. And, routinely, people fall for it because it is all about feelings and beliefs, not facts or truth. We have got to get back to dealing with reality, which means data is important, truth is important and facts are not subject to dismissal. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and GETTR by searching for the Alan Sanders Show.
