Your Stupid Minds continues its “semi-recent movies that actually aren't that bad and available on Disney Plus” series with the third Narnia movie that Disney dumped and neither of us got around to seeing until now. It's 2010's The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader! Edmund (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy (Georgie Henley) are stuck in northern England waiting out the Blitz with their annoying cousin Eustace (Will Poulter) when they're sucked into a painting and end up back in Narnia. They board King Caspian's (Ben Barnes) ship the Dawn Treader and must recover some magic swords to stop an evil green mist from ravaging the land. That's about all you need to know.

For Wright, the episode was a powerful one and may tease an upcoming breaking point for the multiversal observer.   "In this instance, it speaks to Strange's mystical powers too, that he perceives him there. So there's two sides to that, but also yes, The Watcher is compelled by the danger that Strange is conjuring, obviously not only for himself but for his whole reality," Wright said "For The Watcher, there's only so much he can only watch. He's not a voyeur for voyeurism's sake, he is in some ways made up of these characters. Without them, what does he watch? We'll see."   Moon Knight: Mark Ruffalo Plays Coy About Theorized Hulk Appearance https://www.cbr.com/moon-knight-hulk-appearance-mark-ruffalo-plays-coy   Despite a recent fan theory that the Hulk will make a guest appearance on Disney+'s upcoming Moon Knight series, veteran Bruce Banner actor Mark Ruffalo is remaining tight-lipped about whether or not he'll show up in it.   On his Twitter account, Ruffalo gave a self-deprecating response to an article discussing said appearance from the Jade Giant on the show, throwing shade at his own tendency to spoil major Marvel Cinematic Universe events. "As the person who's responsible for this next phase of the MCU, I would hate to spoil something," Ruffalo tweeted. "I have learned the hard way."   Marvel's Hawkeye TV series on Disney+ will explore the MCU at Christmas. https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/marvel-hawkeye-tv-series-is-a-christmas-show/   According to Hawkeye executive producer Trin Tranh, the series is “grounded and funny, packed to the brim with Christmas spirit.”   Tranh's remarks come from the latest issue of TV Guide, in which she sheds a little light on both the setting and flavor of the next MCU live action show. While we've already glimpsed the MCU at Christmastime in Iron Man 3, this will be the first holiday season we spend there after the events of Avengers: Endgame. In other words, it will be the first time we see how the citizens of the MCU are enjoying the holidays after they've been reunited with many relatives who had been “snapped” away by Thanos at the climax of Avengers: Infinity War.   Breaking Down Fury's Big Week with ‘What If…?' Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation.Barry is a highly experienced production designer who has mainly been working in features up until this point, but decided to take on the challenge of a tv series. I previously interviewed Barry for his amazing work on the film 'Hacksaw Ridge'. His other work can be seen on movies such as 'Pitch Perfect', 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', and 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader'.In the interview Barry talks about how he went back to the graphic novel to shape the creation of the stylistic elements in the post-apocalyptic world, and how the train moves from dark to light as you head through the different socio-economic classes. This led to having the cars move from the windowless and dark tail of the train to the bright and opulent first-class cars, which were shown through large windows and a copper finish. He also points out some interesting little bits and pieces to look out for when you're watching the series, which launched May 17, 2020 on TNT in the US, and 25th May 2020 on Netflix in the UK. In chapter 6 and 7 of "The Chronicles of Narnia - The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," C.S. Lewis focuses on a boy named Eustace. Lewis tells us that Eustace 'wondered off avoiding his chores.' In his wondering, he entered into a dragon's cave to plunder its treasure. The problem, however, is that in so doing, Eustace turned into a dragon himself.
Afterward, Eustace comes across a lion who changes him back to the boy he once was. Upon this transformation he apologizes for his behavior, no longer feeling a desire to go back for more treasure. Lewis says that "he began to be a different boy." Discovering that the lion who changed him was, in fact, Aslan, Eustace asks Edmond (his cousin who has a relationship with Aslan) "Who is Aslan?" and "Do you know him?" (John 5:1-17) To which Edmund responds in quite an amazing way, he says "well... He knows me. He is the great lion, the son of the emperor-beyond-the-sea who saved me and saved Narnia." The reason I share this is to highlight the importance of what is a two-way relationship with God. Although Edmund clearly knew Aslan "He is the great lion, the son of the emperor-beyond-the-sea who saved me and saved Narnia." Edmund's answer emphasizes that Aslan "knows" him. Last week we learned that knowing God is essential; this is a part of God's express goal. (1 Cor. 13:12 - "to know as we are fully known.") But today I want you to see that being known by God is arguably the more important point and that being known by God comes with clear signs. Now, although I can't prove this, Lewis' inspiration for Edmunds answer might have come from the Apostle Paul, [Gal 4:8-9 NASB] 8 However at that time, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those which by nature are no gods. 9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again? Paul is in no way discounting our capacity or need to know God but rather is placing the emphasis on the idea that Christians have come to be "known by God."

Sally Dobie joins Lucien to dissect the most recent big-screen Narnia adventure: 2010's scarcely-remembered Voyage of the Dawn Treader. They discuss the Christian overtones of Aslan, a Narnia-themed scandal in Lucien's primary school, casting suggestions for Puddleglum The Marshwiggle and whether Netflix's proposed CS Lewis adaptation will have the poor production value of its recent Lemony Snicket efforts. Original Broadcast: June 2008 Monthly Theme: Chronicles of Narnia - The Voyage of the Dawn Treader I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. (1 Corinthians 3:2) "I Have Another Name" In the last moment that a Penvensie can set foot in Narnia, Lucy becomes distraught. It's not that she'll miss Narnia. It's that she'll miss Aslan. The only problem was that Aslan wasn't confined to Narnia. His country was outside the world of Narnia--finding it was the quest of the Dawn Treader. Aslan reveals to Lucy and Edmund that he is known in our world: "But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there" (247). Lucy and Edmund were too old. Narnia is a place only for the children of Adam and Eve. So St. Paul tells us that the stages of the Christian faith mature from milk to solid food. Just as an infant goes from his mother's milk to strained food to solid food. Aslan told the children that it was time for them to go on to the next stage: learning about him in our world as the God who became Man to purchase the forgiveness of sins. What stage are you in? Are you still with the milk or are you in the solid food? Trinity has opportunities for all to grow in their faith in every stage. Contact me if you're interested in growing in your faith with us. Amen.

This week we finish up our journey into Narnia with a massive disappointment. A desperate bid to regain the whimsy, magic, and most importantly, the massive box office revenue of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, Voyage of the Dawn Treader feels like a cobbled together mess. Not a terrible movie, but one without much of an identity.

Jeff Bayer is in L.A. hobnobbing with superstars while Eric D. Snider toils away in the studio, but Jeff is on the show anyway! Through the magic of telephones! Bayer and Snider discuss “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” (which isn’t particularly good), and Snider talks about “The Tourist” while Bayer doesn’t listen. They address the QOTW (movie locales you’d like to visit) and offer up a new one: In honor of “TRON: Legacy,” what movie from at least 20 years ago do you think would benefit from a sequel set at least 20 years later? Bayer talked about meeting Jeff Bridges and Barry Pepper, and he and Snider played a rousing game of Pitch Me involving Liam Neeson and Adam Sandler and a kid.
