The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 3: 5:05pm- According to a report from NJ.com, the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) has contributed $22.25 million to benefit Sean Spiller's NJ gubernatorial campaign. Spiller, who didn't have enough state-wide support to qualify for two upcoming Democrat primary debates, is a former high school science biology teacher who also leads the NJEA. He earns $370,000 per year. Rich wonders: how is this legal? 5:25pm- Montage: Every year, since 1993, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has warned that America's evolution toward an oligarchy is imminent. But he doesn't seem to have any concerns over George Soros's massive contributions to progressive figures. PLUS, Sanders lectured an audience at Coachella about economic justice. Notably, Coachella tickets cost between $600 and $1,400… 5:40pm- Gerald Posner—Award-Winning Investigative Journalist & Author of the book “Case Closed: Lee Harvey Oswald and the Assassination of JFK”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest article, “Fighting Each Other: How U.S. Intelligence Rivalries Hampered the Battle Against Islamic Terrorism.” You can read the full article here: https://www.skeptic.com/article/how-american-intelligence-rivalries-hampered-the-battle-against-islamic-terrorism/. Along with Executive Producer Matt DeSantis and Justin Otero, the Zeoli show is the next generation of talk radio and you can be a part of it weekday afternoons 3-7pm.

Growing Trend of Political Violence: Why Won't the Left Condemn All of It?

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (04/14/2025): 3:05pm- A 38-year-old Harrisburg man was charged with setting fire to the Pennsylvania Governor's mansion. According to reports, the man threw two Molotov cocktails into the residence and planned to beat Governor Josh Shapiro with a hammer. Thankfully, Shapiro and his family were unharmed. President Donald Trump condemned the act and stated: “A thing like that cannot be allowed to happen.” Meanwhile, late last week, Shawn Monper—a man from Butler County, Pennsylvania—was charged with threatening to kill President Donald Trump and Elon Musk in videos posted to his YouTube channel “Mr. Satan.” Monper allegedly began purchasing guns after Trump's inauguration. 3:15pm- During an interview with CNN's “MisinfoNation” with host Donie O'Sullivan, former Washington Post and New York Times reporter Taylor Lorenz referred to Luigi Mangione as a “morally good man.” Mangione has been charged with assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thomas. In the past, Lorenz has baselessly suggested that Thomas and his company were guilty of murder for denying healthcare coverage. Last week, when questioned by the press, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer declined to condemn violence against Tesla vehicles and their drivers—instead opting to condemn Elon Musk's work on behalf of the Trump Administration. Why isn't the left vociferously condemning politically motivated violence in America? 3:30pm- While speaking with the press from the Oval Office alongside President Donald Trump, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele revealed that he has no plans to return Abrego Garcia who was deported to El Salvador after the Trump Administration determined he was in the U.S. illegally and a member of the gang MS-13. In a recent ruling, the Supreme Court determined that Garcia's deportation was, in part, the result of an “administrative error” and that he should be returned to the United States—though, after the error is corrected, the man would ultimately be eligible for deportation anyway. While speaking with the press, Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller denied an administrative error ever occurred. The Trump Administration also noted that because Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador, they have no recourse if Bukele denies their request for release. 4:00pm- Bill D'Agostino—Senior Research Analyst at Media Research Center—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to breakdown some of the best (and worst) clips from corporate media: a Boston Globe senior opinion writer compares the modern American economy to the 1930s, Dana Bash insists CNN doesn't hate America, Taylor Lorenz describes the man responsible for assassinating healthcare CEO Brian Thomas as “morally good,” and Democrats STILL (somehow) want Kamala Harris to be their presidential candidate in 2028. 4:30pm- Appearing on ABC News, sports broadcaster Stephen A. Smith said he has “no choice” but to at least consider a presidential run in 2028. Rich notes that he has no chance of winning a primary contest—because he isn't sufficiently “woke” for Democrat voters. On his podcast, Bill Maher argued that the Democrat Party has gone too far placating the “woke”—and it risks making the party “irrelevant.” 4:50pm- Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin aerospace company sent an all-female crew into space on Monday—including pop singer Katy Perry! In a clip that has gone viral on social media, Perry tells a journalist about how she reads about string theory in her spare time…but it's hilariously clear she has no idea what she's talking about. 5:05pm- According to a report from NJ.com, the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) has contributed $22.25 million to benefit Sean Spiller's NJ gubernatorial campaign. Dom tells that New Jersey's teachers union, NJEA, has spoken out against the bonuses, pointing out how hypocritical it is to speak out against something like this while biding themselves as pro-teacher rather than pro-union. Then, Dom tells that Sea Isle City is planning to implement a curfew, explaining why he's against a curfew as he believes it doesn't work. Then, Dom updates the marijuana situation in New Jersey, reporting some problems in sales due to high prices, and also provides a running update of the mayoral race in Philadelphia, asking whether the police endorsement helps or hurts Democratic candidates. Testa writes, “instead of focusing on the things that matter to parents and their children, such as recouping grave learning losses due to draconian shutdowns of our schools, the NJEA felt it was worthwhile to host a drag queen story hour and invited irrelevant social justice warriors Nikole Hannah Jones and David Hogg to speak.” Testa explains to Dom why he felt the need to pen the column, pointing to the prioritization of political issues over something like strategizing with teachers to reduce and make up for the monumental loss of learning during the Coronavirus pandemic. Then, Dom welcomes in former congressman Col. Allen B. West to discuss the decision by the Biden administration to trade ‘The Merchant of Death' Viktor Bout in exchange for wrongfully imprisoned WNBA star Brittney Griner. Col. West, who made national news speaking out against the Obama administration when dealing with the release of Bowe Bergdahl, draws comparisons between the Bergdahl situation and what we're seeing play out with Griner. West tells about the political aspects of such a release, and argues why he's vehemently against allowing somebody like ‘the Merchant of Death' to walk free. Also, Dom gets West's thoughts on the Georgia runoff election, with West explaining what Republican candidate Herschel Walker and the rest of the Party could have done to further the chances of Republicans in the election. Andersen, a high school American Sign Language (ASL) teacher at Ocean City High School in Cape May County, has been named the 2018 New Jersey State Teacher of the Year. Andersen, who was named the 2017-18 Cape May County Teacher of the Year in the spring, grew up in Cape May County. She earned a bachelor’s degree in flute performance from Indiana University and a mas- ter’s degree in deaf education from McDaniel College. Andersen also achieved national board certification in Exceptional Needs Specialist: Deaf/Hard of Hearing. After nine years in Boston, Massachusetts as a teacher of the deaf, she returned to New Jersey in 2004 to raise a family. It was then, with 42 students, that Andersen began the ASL program at Ocean City High School. Community oriented activities, such as ASL socials at local coffee shops and evening performances that raise funds for scholarships immerse students in deaf culture helping them to build confidence. In the past three years alone, more than 85 percent of her students have achieved the NJ Seal of Biliteracy. Her popular and respected program has inspired a number of students to pursue ASL-related careers, including interpreting for Michelle Obama and Madonna. Ocean City’s ASL program is unique, especially in the way Andersen connects her students to the deaf community nationwide. Ocean City has become a strong community that is now accessible to hearing and deaf visitors because of Andersen’s students. Andersen is a nationally recognized educator who began her career teaching deaf children to fall in love with reading. She now teaches hearing children to fall in love with ASL. Among her many recognitions, Andersen was named the 2014 ASL Teacher of the Year and was honored by the New Jersey Association for the Deaf and Atlantic County Society for the Deaf. In 2015, “Classroom Close-Up NJ” highlighted her program after her students’ ASL anti-bullying video went viral. As Ocean City’s Teacher of the Year, Andersen was featured in the NJ School Board Association’s School Leader and was recently honored by the National Liberty Museum with the Teacher as Hero: Exceptional Teacher Award. Andersen has made a difference in the lives of her students, and she serves as a model for teachers throughout the country. She ignites her students’ passion for learning, gives them a voice and shows them their voice is valuable. Andersen’s students go out into the world as lifelong learners making bridges between cultures, embracing differences in those around them, and changing lives as they go.  Show Hosts Sean Spiller Sean Spiller, a high school science teacher in the Wayne public schools, is vice president of the New Jersey Education Association. Welcome to Member Voices, an NJEA Podcast.  In this episode, we welcome 2018-19 New Jersey State Teacher of the Year Jennifer Skomial on the program. This weeks question is: Question:   How Important Are Teacher Training Programs?  Follow our Hosts Sean M. Spiller | @SpillerForNJEA Jeff Bradbury | @JeffBradbury About Our Guest: Jennifer Skomial Jennifer Skomial is a Career and Technical Education Teacher at Morris County School of Technology and the 2018-19 New Jersey State Teacher of the Year. Jennifer Skomial, like many others in the profession, has always wanted to be a teacher. Her earliest memories include “playing school” with her younger brother, whom she needed to bribe to have a willing student. Not a day went by that she wasn’t eagerly practicing what she believes has been her life’s purpose. Jennifer is driven to encourage more students to go into the teaching field that she holds so dear.  While many of the students she works with may not become early-childhood teachers, she knows that the exposure she provides them through hands-on experience in the on-site preschool, field trips, and guest speakers will help them determine their future paths.   Subscribe to Member Voices We are proud to be listed in the iTunes Directory. With that in mind, WNYC published two stories to help voters understand the two major candidates on the ballot: Democrat Phil Murphy and Republican Kim Guadagno. SOUTH JERSEY DEM MACHINE, TEACHERS' UNION BARREL TOWARD ELECTION DAY In South Jersey, two of the most powerful political forces in the state are going head-to-head: Sen. President Steve Sweeney and the New Jersey Education Associate. Although Sweeney's opponent on the ballot is technically Republican Fran Grenier, Philly.com says his real opponent is the 200,000-member NJEA, which vowed to defeat Sweeney back in March and has spent millions of dollars trying to accomplish that goal. HOW SECURE ARE NEW JERSEY'S VOTING MACHINES? You know those claw machines on the boardwalk in Atlantic City? Ever taken your laundry to a cleaners and weighed it on the scale? You might be surprised to learn that both of those seemingly innocuous devices are actually subject to more state regulation that the voting machines in New Jersey. The Record has the full story on how and why this is the case. FOREST HILL RESIDENTS: NEWARK AND NEW JERSEY MUST LOCK ARMS TO EMBRACE THE FUTURE Brick City Live takes us into the heart of Newark's Forest Hill neighborhood to speak with residents there about their thoughts on tomorrow's election as part of the ongoing Voting Block collaboration. As is the case with many voters in New Jersey, the biggest issues on their minds were taxes and the relationship between their city and the state of New Jersey. VOTING BLOCK: APATHY, ANXIETY AHEAD OF TUESDAY'S VOTE Last month, NJ Pen spoke with neighbors on East Stiles Avenue, a small, tightly knit street in the Camden County Democratic stronghold of Collingswood, about how they handle politics in their neighborhood. In the latest installment in the Voting Block project, Matt Skoufalos tries to figure what it takes to get them to the polls. WEST NEW YORK RESIDENTS DISPLAY RESILIENCE THEY EXPECT FROM NEXT GOVERNOR The mile-long, densely populated town of West New York – nestled in the heart of the North Hudson – is represented by some of the most passionate residents in the state. On the eve of the upcoming gubernatorial election, Kevin Castillo met with residents to hear their opinions and the expectations they have for the next governor of New Jersey as part of the Voting Block reporting project. YOUR CHOICE FOR GOVERNOR WILL DETERMINE THAT When you go to the polls in November, you won't just be choosing Chris Christie's successor – your choice will determine whether or not recreational marijuana will be legalized in New Jersey. NJ.com says electing Phil Murphy means New Jersey will join eight other states in legalizing marijuana for people 21 and older. Meanwhile, electing Kim Guadagno means you still won't be able to legally smoke marijuana. WILL CLIMATE CHANGE REVIVE AN OLD IDEA: A REGIONAL COASTAL COMMISSION? The idea of forming a coastal commission was once again floated yesterday at a wide-ranging conference on the Shore of the Future in Trenton. NJ Spotlight says the idea was shunned more than three decades ago, but climate change could lead the state to accept that the issues posed by a changing climate far outstrip the ability of local communities to deal with the crisis on their own. AS NJEA CONTINUES FIGHT WITH SWEENEY, AFT GIVES ENDORSEMENT The American Federation of Teachers has endorsed incumbent Senate president Steve Sweeney's reelection, despite his ongoing feud with the New Jersey Education Association. NJTV says the decision to endorse Sweeney has put the AFT at odds with the NJEA, New Jersey's largest teachers union with 200,000 members, which has deep disagreements with Sweeney over public-employee pensions and other issues. NJ TRANSIT'S RAIL SYSTEM IS BREAKING DOWN MORE THIS YEAR NJ Transit trains have been breaking down more often in 2017 than they did in 2016, and are running fewer miles between failures than trains on the Long Island Rail Road or on Metro North. NJ.com says the trend isn't a new one. The agency's train, bus, and light rail fleet were already traveling fewer miles than they did in 2013 before breaking down. FEDS GIVE NJ TRANSIT GREEN LIGHT TO TEST SYSTEM TO PREVENT TRAIN CRASHES Meanwhile, NJ Transit has received conditional approval from federal regulators to begin testing its train collision avoidance system, know as positive train control, on the Morristown Line. The Record says the testing will begin on about 10 miles of track between Madison and Denville, and will not involve trains carrying passengers.

Today we'll discuss sound, the f-word in Christmas songs and a documentary called The Cartel. This film looks at various levels of corruption in the government school system, primarily using New Jersey as a case study. The filmmaker, Bob Bowden supports voucher programs and the expansion of charter schools. Although I have always opposed vouchers as a "solution" to a "problem," the stories in the film got me thinking about this issue in new ways. However, I am still not a proponent of vouchers.
