Election Day is one day away, and both candidates have been making their final push in the swing states, in what many are predicting as a “coin toss” election. Former President Trump has hit the Biden-Harris administration hard on their handling of the economy, while Vice President Harris has been working to characterize the former President as a "threat to democracy". All indicators point to the election coming down to seven key states. Former Speaker Of The House Kevin McCarthy joins the Rundown to discuss what states he is focusing on for Election Day, what he thinks of each candidate's campaign strategy, and weighs in on the makeup of the 119th Congress. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have been making campaign stops across the United States in the final few days of their campaigns. However tomorrow, the campaigning ends, and the counting begins as millions of Americans will cast their ballots this Election Day. Director of the FOX News Decision Desk Arnon Mishkin joins to break down how the process works and share his thoughts on the state of the race. Nadina Galle is an ecological engineer, National Geographic Explorer, science and nature writer, podcaster, and keynote speaker. She helps green professionals use emerging technologies to improve urban ecosystems for future generations. She is the author of the book, The Nature of Our Cities, which is the topic of our conversation. The Internet of Nature, emerging technologies that are helping nature to thrive in cities. How to improve the survival of urban trees.Which cities are leading the way in a technological approach to managing urban nature. The potential risks of becoming over-reliant on technology and how to avoid this. More than half the world's population—4.4 billion people—live in cities today. That number is expected to rise to 80% by 2050. Our guest, Nadina Galle, is a trailblazing ecological engineer and author of The Nature of Our Cities. She is an ecological engineer who studies the intersection of nature and technology in urban environments. Nadina developed the concept of an Internet of Nature (IoN) that uses tools like artificial intelligence, automation, and sensors to support and enhance ecosystems within cities. Nadina's book offers a transformative perspective on how urban spaces can be reimagined in the face of climate change and sprawling development. She shares the inspiring story of the Groene Loper project in Maastricht, Netherlands, where soil sensors were deployed to monitor tree health. The results were remarkable, with trees supported by this technology growing up to three times larger than those without it. This is a powerful example of how technology can not only protect trees but also transform urban spaces into healthier, greener environments. From fire and the wheel to the reinforced concrete frames that define modern buildings, we are surrounded by technology. We tend to forget that technology emerged in response to nature — too often, we treated nature as the enemy, the chaos to be contained instead of recognizing that nature's cycles and changes are the harmony we need to join to sustain society. The loss of any semblance of natural patterns, which ultimately leads to the depletion of the resources necessary for life, has inevitably led to the collapse of previous major civilizations. Modern society has more runway than previous societies because we have created a global economy, but that risks an even greater fall for our species when the ecological underpinnings of our prosperity collapse. The Nature of Our Cities is a powerful, straightforward, and emotionally resonant book to help you think through your role and choices in the restoration of nature. You can find it on Amazon or Powell's Books.Subscribe to Sustainability in Your Ear on iTunes and Apple Podcasts.Follow Sustainability in Your Ear on Spreaker, iHeartRadio, or YouTube.

Seattle radio host Jason Rantz (https://jasonrantz.com) has witnessed firsthand how the governing policies of large, liberal-run cities have left chaos reigning. Stores closed due to rampant theft. The mentally ill, homeless and addicted left to ravage the streets and harass residents and visitors. The graft of local governments, who are latched onto the teat of government and pour billions into ineffective programs that only create more misery. It's all the subject of his new book, What's Killing America: Inside the Radical Left's Tragic Destruction of Our Cities. What You Need to Know is that the Washington Post is flailing and losing money fast, and this is the beginning of the final act of newspapers. They have been embedded in the narrative machine, spinning an anti-Trump narrative with the Muller Investigation, Russia hoax, and January 6 narrative. The Washington Post and the narrative machine, which includes big tech, big media, and big government, is not a business model that works. That's why the WaPo is losing money, because people don't want to pay for lies and negativity. Jason Rantz, radio show host and author of the newly-released What's Killing America: Inside the Radical Left's Tragic Destruction of Our Cities, joins Ed to talk about his book. Jason discusses how there is a radical left-wing ideology implementing specific policies in Democrat-run cities across the country, which is quickly destroying American cities. Ed and Jason also talk about the possibility of Republicans gaining control of the cities to rescue them from this downward trend. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, the Democrat party is a typical autocrat party that seeks to destroy the nuclear family, our border and sovereignty, and our capitalist economic system, and their media demonstrates day in and day out that they are all in. When you do not have an honest Democrat party or media, this is what you get. The January 6 committee destroyed most of the information they gathered and is forcing their version of what happened to be the truth in order to destroy Donald Trump. They are changing our language and changing our reality, which is exactly what autocrats do. Also, the demands of UAW President Shawn Fain for a 40% salary increase and a 32-hour work week have nothing to do with job security or electric vehicles. Fain does not represent the people, but instead, he is screwing the people and a propagandist. People like Fain and Chuck Schumer are trying to process illegal immigrants to replace union workers as fast as possible because they do not stand with the patriotic American union workers. No union boss should have this kind of power. Later, Mark is joined by Donald Trump Jr. to talk about the gross undervaluation of the Mar-a-Lago estate and the miscarriage of justice and judicial abuse of Donald Trump. Hundreds of thousands of migrants, many seeking asylum, have arrived in the United States over the last year, overwhelming already-strained resources in cities and states across the country. Last week, in arguably one of the most immigration-friendly cities in the country, Mayor Eric Adams said that migrants would “destroy New York City.”This week on “Matter of Opinion,” the hosts discuss how the “border crisis” has come to frustrate Democratic politicians further north, and why the conversation about immigration is always actually about who we are as Americans.(A transcript of this episode can be found at the top of the episode page on the Times website.) Thursday, July 14th, 2022 Matthew E. Kahn is Provost Professor at the University of Southern California and the author of six previous books about environmental and urban economics issues. His latest book is Going Remote: How the Flexible Work Economy Can Improve Our Lives and Our Cities. We discuss the future of our cities and the future of work--whether that's remote or in person. The pandemic revealed a new geography of economic opportunity. Some jobs that were only in person before are now possible remotely, which could be good for working mothers or for those who might want ready access to the outdoors. Cities could transform into places that are more attractive because of the lifestyle as opposed to the job opportunities. Matt also wonders if working from home will lead to more life satisfaction, less divisive politics, and more civic engagement. Praying for the Hunger in Our Cities Bless and Multiply the Food that Come into Our Cities. Help us to realize that the ability to buy and receive food is a true prosperity from GOD. Help us to realize that there are others out there who cannot buy food and have no means of getting any food. We pray over the food that is being shipped to our country. Let no one go to sleep hungry. For we know that in spite of the fact that the world produces enough and more food for all, one (1) in nine (9) people in the world are undernourished and go to sleep hungry. Babies are being born suffering stunted growth, impaired brain development, lower IQ, weakened immune system, are at risk of serious diseases and even death due to inadequate nutrition. Climate change has had an impact on the availability of water and a 1/3rd of the food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted. Help us NOT be wasteful. Take all the impurities that was meant to harm us. Turn it around for our good and we accelerate in our health and LIVE. Dear GOD, Jesus and the Holy Ghost—thank you for the ability to go to a store and buy items that are needed.

In 2020 we experienced an unprecedented pandemic ; we witnessed businesses, schools, and offices close; many of us started working from home; we adopted rigorous health and safety guidelines; and we didn't visit our families and friends. Our Cities suffered similarly, with tax loss, lack of funding, and extenuating circumstances to respond to the communities' needs. Many of them have come out stronger with lessons to take into the future. In this episode, we hear from Todd Graham at the Metropolitan Council about the big picture economic impact of the pandemic, and we talk with Meg Beekman from the City of Brooklyn Center and Anne Kane from the City of White Bear Lake about the measures they have implemented in their communities.
