In episode 104 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield find a new Pop Star/NFL Player duo - Actress and Hailee Steinfield and Josh Allen. The pair started dating in May of 2023, and recently became engaged. In this episdoe we explore if their synastry shows stamina for a marriage! Starting with Hailee, we see a nurturing Cancer rising but it gets hardened by a sharp Saturn square and opposing Capricorn Moon. As an Academy Award Nominee at age 13, this hard-working actress experienced professional responsibility from an early age and her chart proves it! Additionally, her fiery Sagittarius Sun getting a square from Mars in Virgo, shows she has a wealth of energy that needs to be applied in being of service to others to avoid overindulgence. Next, we look into Josh's chart and see an intense, charming, and somewhat intimidating Scorpio rising. With a Mars opposition to this ascendant, the "tough guy" persona can create a lot of conflict and confrontation whether he likes it or not. We see more Scorpionic energy with his Gemini Sun being opposed by Pluto, telling us that for him, the dark side of life is never far away. It's good that he has a family-oriented Cancer Moon which summons emotional support when he needs it. Together, the synastry shows that they have a striking, mutual Venus/Ascendant conjunction. This creates a powerful and immediate attraction, adoration, and cooperation for both of them. Then we see a Jupiter Conjunction that reveals career growth is important to each of them. To add more receptivity between them, they share water Moons and earth Mercuries making their emotional bond strong and their communication styles similar. However, with Hailee's Moon (her chart ruler) getting a harsh square from Josh's Saturn, domestic harmony could be difficult to achieve. A possessive Pluto/Sun aspect also tells us shadow behavior could be activated to an intense degree. Listen in to hear what Venus score this newly engaged couple received! My guest this week is Academy Award nominee actor, Gary Busey. Filmed live in my home, Gary was generous to share Highlights from his career, personal life and his wonderful "Buseyisms". Please enjoy the vignettes and stories with Gary Busey. In 1966, Gary Busey left Tulsa Oklahoma, to make it big as a singing drummer in Hollywood. The band acquired moderate success playing gigs along the Sunset Strip opening for Sly and the Family Stone and various other bands. His band, Carp, was signed to Epic Records and was given a moderate signing bonus to cut their album. When the band broke up, Gary didn't give up and went on to audition for television and film roles after studying with James Best in Studio City. Gary's tenacity landed him roles as guest stars in such television shows as Gunsmoke and Baretta. Gary's standout performance in A Star Is Born got the attention of Dustin Hoffman who hired him along with his son Jake for the film Straight Time. On the heels of hype, Gary landed the second lead in Big Wednesday, now a cult classic surf film and immediately after, he landed the lead role in The Buddy Holly Story, which garnered him critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for best actor in 1978. His pivotal performance as a villain in Lethal Weapon earned him the attention of a new generation, and the concept of being hired to play villains.Watch the Podcast on YouTube | Read the DiariesHost, Author of Diary of an Actress,. Cathy Moriarty Live on Game Changers With Vicki Abelson Girl Crush! I've had one for years on Academy Award Nominee, Cathy Moriarty, now after spending a virtual hour with her, forgetaboutit! I always knew she was an incredible actress, whether making me laugh or cry, but, what an amazing woman… mother, daughter, loyal friend, and pet rescuer. We talked the Bronx, where we both come from, Alexanders, our mothers, gratefully still with us, Cathy's pre-Pesci discovery acting days… high school drama, plays, dinner theatre, no agent, no professional training, but grabbing stage time wherever she could, auditioning and then a bathing suit contest to win a coveted pair of shoes that would change her stars. The trifecta at 17, the beforementioned Pesci, DeNiro, and Scorcese––Raging Bull. Her first film which led to that Oscar nod, on-the-job master classes, and a friendship with her character's namesake that would last the rest of Vikki LaMotta's lifetime. Neighbors. Belushi's last film. Ackroyd's kindness. All Cathy learned about comedy from them. Soapdish, how she almost didn't get it, who almost did, one of Cathy's favorite films for so many reasons. A horrible car accident, getting back to work… Kindergarten Cop, Forget Paris, Casper, Speilberg, Eric Idle, Copland, Stallone, more DeNiro, Analyze That, and how easy they are together. Despite all the work, Cathy's so un-Hollywood. Unfazed by celebrity and stardom, she dreamt of being a great actress not a movie star. A mother, who loves to cook, and thanks to Marty's mother (Scorcese) she prides herself on making the best sauce and meatballs around, she's also a savvy businesswoman who's owned a few restaurants and very successful pizzerias. We're regulars at the Encino location. There was so much more to talk about than we had time for - there's a slice of pizza in our future… I have witnesses! What started out as respect, and adoration… I adore, more! 2024 Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary Short “Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó” is a personal love letter from first generation Taiwanese-American director Sean Wang, to his grandmothers. Sean turns a camera on his grandmas (“Nǎi Nai” and “Wài Pó”), who are inseparable best friends and roommates in their 80s and 90s. The film captures their daily lives in hilarious and unexpected ways as they dance, stretch, and fart their sorrows away—eventually giving way to a poignant meditation on lives marked by both joy and pain. Together, grandmas and grandson remind us that getting older doesn't have to mean fading away. After making its world premiere at SXSW — taking home the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award — the film went on to make the IDA shortlist and win Grand Jury Awards at AFI Fest and SIFF 2023, along with the Audience Award at The Wrap 2023 Shortlist Film Festival and Special Jury Recognition at LAAPFF 2023. Other selections include Rooftop Films Summer Series, Palm Springs ShortsFest, CAAM Fest 2023 and Aesthetica Film Festival 2023. Neil deGrasse Tyson and Scott Hamilton Kennedy talk about their documentary a 'Shot in the Arm' in addressing anti-vaxxers, showing the Laemmle Theatres in Los Angeles, CA beginning Friday, November 17, 2023. A 'Shot in the Arm' is a fascinating documentary about the anti-vaxxer movement taking place in the United States and across the world. Executive Producer, Neil deGrass Tyson and Academy Award Nominee, Scott Hamilton Kennedy set out with the use of science to prove just how safe and effective vaccines are to those who disagree with the science. There was one question I did not get to ask Mr. Tyson and that was, "What does an astrophysicist know virology?" The question is due in part that as a journalist, you have to open the discussion from every angel, not only from one's personal biases or perceived ones. Kennedy does a great job in his interviews without turning attacking the subjects he speaking with, even though you can tell his blood was boiling throughout the entire filmmaking process. The most important question that was asked is how the interview began, "What do you say to people who have adverse effects to medication that were mistreated during this one size fits all method?" (I am paraphrasing the question, you will hear it in the interview.) Whether you are pro-vaccines and want to get 200 boosters, or anti-vaccines by wanting to never having a needle stuck in your arm, that's your business. However, a 'Shot in the Arm' is a documentary that will open up dialogue between centralist audience members in how to prepare ourselves for the next go around. A 'Shot in the Arm' begins showing at the Laemmle Theatres in Los Angeles, CA beginning Friday, November 17, 2023. #neildegrassetyson #scotthamiltonkennedy #shotinthearmmovie #documentary #fanboynation #interview

His latest documentary, A House Made of Splinters, the focus of this episode, made its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival where it won the Best Director prize in the World-Cinema Documentary competition. The celebrated film was an Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary Feature Film for the 2023 Oscars® and has continued to be a word-of-mouth success and essential to dialogues around crisis-caregiving amid the Russian-led invasion of Ukraine. A House Made of Splinters explores how the most vulnerable are caught up within institutional bureaucracies, generational traumas, and international flexes of power beyond their control and limits of understanding. It's a film, as Simon Lereng Wilmont tells it, about “the long term, less visible, but no less devastating consequences that war has had on many of the small communities situated along frontline of the war in Eastern Ukraine. It is also a story about love, compassion and hope. This is what powers the dedicated, big-hearted caregivers working tirelessly to try and give the children a better future, and what makes these incredible children still want to reach out and dare to try and form close human connections despite the tragic circumstances of the broken families that they come from. In this episode host Michael Shields and Simon Lereng Wilmont discuss the psychological and emotional trauma that is inflicted upon children in times of war. They discuss how profoundly special the shelter at the heart of the film and those working there are. They talking about the generation cycles of trauma caused from war, coping mechanisms that kids are drawn to in dire situations, the power of hope , and so much more. Hosted on Acast. Erik speaks with Academy Award Nominee, film editor, producer, director, and writer, Frederick Marx about his focus on providing a voice for disadvantaged and misunderstood communities, through his production company Warrior Films, which highlights unique stories of greatness! IT'S YOUR WONDERFUL LIFE! Two-minute project teaser: https://warriorfilms.org/its-your-wonderful-life/ More about Frederick: Frederick Marx has lived his life mission as a socially dedicated film artist for 45 years. He is an internationally acclaimed, Oscar and Emmy nominated producer/director. He was named a Chicago Tribune Artist of the Year, a Guggenheim Fellow, and a recipient of a Robert F. Kennedy Special Achievement Award. His film HOOP DREAMS played in hundreds of theatres nationwide after winning the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival and was the first documentary ever chosen to close the New York Film Festival. It was on over 100 “Ten Best” lists nationwide and was named Best Film of the Year by critics Roger Ebert, Gene Siskel, Gene Shalit, and Ken Turran and by the Chicago Film Critics Association. Ebert also named it Best Film of the Decade. Prestigious awards include: Academy Nomination (Best Editing), Producer's Guild, Editor's Guild (ACE), Peabody Awards, the Prix Italia (Europe's top documentary prize) and The National Society of Film Critics Award. Utne Reader named it one of 150 of humanity's “essential works,” the Library of Congress recently added it to its prestigious National Film Registry, and the International Documentary Association named it the Best Documentary Ever. HOOP DREAMS ignited Marx's lifelong passion for the well-being of youth. That led to BOYS TO MEN? (2002) – a snapshot of the dire state of teen boys in the U.S. today. BOYS TO MEN? chronicles one year in the lives of three fifteen year old boys as they struggle to define themselves meaningfully as men. Soon Marx will make his final film on youth – RITES OF PASSAGE: MENTORING THE FUTURE. This documentary is about solutions. It will demonstrate why it's necessary to initiate and mentor all the world's youth. It will show audiences how it can be done, provide them with the tools to do it, and inspire them to take up the challenge. VETERANS JOURNEY HOME, a five part series of films, tells the story of the 2.7 million returning US veterans and what it takes for them to successfully transition back into civilian life. Whether officially diagnosed with PTSD or not, most vets carry the psychic scars of “moral injury” and will carry the battle within long after the bullets stop flying. Marx's films show them healing and transforming. In 1993, Marx received an Emmy nomination for HIGHER GOALS (1992) for Best Daytime Children's Special. Producer, Director, and Writer for this national PBS Special, Marx directed Tim Meadows of “Saturday Night Live” fame. Accompanied by a curriculum guide, the program was later distributed for free to over 4,200 inner city schools nationwide. His most recent film JOURNEY FROM ZANSKAR (2010) - featuring the Dalai Lama, with narration by Richard Gere - is now in worldwide release. THE UNSPOKEN (1999), Marx's first feature film, features stellar performances from star Sergei Shnirev of the famed Moscow Art Theatre (Russian voice of Disney's ALADDIN), and Harry J. Lennix, most known for MATRIX, Spike Lee's GET ON THE BUS, Tim Robbins' BOB ROBERTS, and Julie Taymor's TITUS. A hobbyist songwriter, Marx recorded a number of his songs collectively known as ROLLING STEEL (1991). Marx's vision for cross-cultural understanding is reflected in PBS' international human rights program OUT OF THE SILENCE (1991), the widely acclaimed personal essay DREAMS FROM CHINA (1989), and Learning Channel's SAVING THE SPHINX (1997). He consulted on Iranian-Kurdish director Bahman Ghobadi's feature TURTLES CAN FLY (2004) and was a teacher of renowned Thai feature filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
Actor, Comedian, Playwright Peter Fogel is one of those performers audiences have seen and enjoyed countless times on television, but you probably didn't know his name. Shows like "An Evening at The Improv," "Comedy Central," and "Comic Strip Live."On a balmy Saturday night in a South Florida theatre, funny man Fogel presented his multi-media solo show "Til Death Do Us Part, You First!" to a packed house. Little did he know that Chazz Palminteri was in attendance. The Broadway/Film Star was so impressed with Fogel's auto-biographical tale and the tremendous audience response-that he met Fogel after his show and offered -- on the spot -- to take his show to the next level and direct it himself! Well, "Til Death Do Us Part...You First!" is coming to Off Broadway. Chazz directs it and you can even hear his voice throughout the show as — what better - Fogel's conscience!
