Encountering Jesus | July 31 | Show Yourself to the World
We love it when the water of life is flowing freely through us,' when praise flows and prayer is just a sheer joy. But how do we cope when, for either a short or a long time, our ‘water levels' seem to recede and, like David, we find ourselves in a dry and waterless place; when seeking the Lord feels dull, and our circumstances so cramping and constricting that it feels as though all the life is being squeezed out of us. At times like these, we are more aware of the Lord's absence than His presence, and even the thought of finding our joy in the Lord, and ‘riding in triumph on the heights of the land,' as Isaiah puts it, seems a remote prospect. (cf Is. 58:14) In this waterless wilderness, a place of inner strife as well as outward hunger, thirsty and exhausted, David reached out beyond his own plight and deliberately ‘hooked' himself into the Lord's goodness by meditating on Him and clinging to Him, remembering all the help He had sent from His sanctuary. When we choose praise over despair, our worship becomes the crook that keeps us looking to the Shepherd. Our confidence grows as we remember how He has led and watched over us in the past, however far away He may feel now. Praise glorifies the Lord and is such an offence in the devil's nostrils that it messes up his snares. Praise You, Father God. Nothing and no one else can ever satisfy my soul. No one else can deliver me over and over again from all that threatens and hangs over me. You have invited me to feast and drink at Your table – and there is such deep companionship there. But right now, I am so parched for You that my tongue and my body are black in the searing dryness. Keep me from slaking my thirst on things that fritter the time away and merely serve to fuel the desires of my flesh. I want to cultivate the minutes to seek You, Lord, and to escape the downward pull of my fears, the disquieting thoughts that make me focus on the dangers. Wrap yourself in light, Lord God. Show Yourself greater than these pressures. Come in the gentleness of Your presence, in signs and visions that impart the stirrings of fresh hope, and bring whispers of Your love, for it is those who hunger and thirst to be right with You who You promise to bless.
No more hiding, it's time to show yourself, step into your power and throw yourself into something new as we join host Laya DeLeon Hayes back to Arendelle to hear stories behind the Disney Hit, “Show Yourself” from Frozen 2.

Ps Terri begins by quoting some words from a song called "Show Yourself" ....."Come to me now - Open your door - Don't make me wait - One moment moreShow yourself - Step into your power - Throw yourself - Into something new"This is her message for us today - to be bold and show ourselves wherever we are and that we are vulnerable and open to people. ("But I don't feel as though I'm really up to that.") No worries. Ps Terri fully covers this and helps us to put aside any fears, reluctance, and trepidations about stepping out. Reading from Romans 8:19 she proclaims that this is the word for us right now that it is speaking to us, to you. She wants us, as God wants us, to be ready to meet others and minister to them. It's not about us. It's about the Holy Spirit within us and the power that we acquire to do what God wants us to do. Ps Terri reminds us that it's not about what we speak or how we speak or what we look like. People that we meet can 'catch' that we are different because it's not us, it is the Holy Spirit. She also reminds us that Satan wants us to hide that light that God has put in us. We think we are not qualified but there is no condemnation for us. And no pressures either. We just need to be ourselves when meeting others. The Holy Spirit will do the rest. We need not fear failure - Proverbs Proverbs 24:16 tells us that the righteous will rise again.God wants us to be with other people. He was to be able to reveal himself to them through us. Ps Terri gives us much more encouragement and biblical ammunition to be able to do this.

❄️How does my vocation journey lead to my sainthood? Relive the two Frozen films as Queen Elsa unravels the mystery of who she is, and how she is being called. Baptise your favourite songs 'Let it Go', 'Into the Unknown' and 'Show Yourself' through God's call in your own life! ❄️Excerpt from episode: "...she then slams the palace door shut. Now, at this point, I must apologize if I'm about to break a few hearts a little … because I'm going to suggest that while the song ‘Let it Go' has some positive elements to it, it is actually quite a sad song. This is because it actually traps Queen Elsa in an unhealthy relationship with her gifts … and locks her into an inverted understanding of her vocation. But before you all write in and complain I've trashed your childhood let's first look at those positive dimensions of the song first. If Elsa's magical abilities could be likened to the unique gifts and talents God gives us, then it should be celebrated when she finally has an avenue to use them. For it would be tragic if fear prevented us from using our spiritual gifts – or charisms – that God has given us..." Download this Podcast John 7:1–9—After this, Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him. But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, Jesus' brothers said to him, "Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world." For even his own brothers did not believe in him. Therefore Jesus told them, "My time is not yet here; for you any time will do. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil. You go to the festival. I am not going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come." After he had said this, he stayed in Galilee. The post Show Yourself to the World appeared first on Getting to Know Jesus.

Far and away my favorite song of this movie (and quite possibly any recent Disney film!) Show Yourself. IT’S.SO.GOOD. I love it for a million and more reasons, and Jen and I talk about the amazingness in this podcast episode. Show yourself. Not someone else. You. When you walk into a room, show yourself as you truly are. That’s really, in essence, what Elsa is doing in this scene. Showing up to her own life. And you want to know how she got there? She followed the voice into the unknown (we talked about this last week!) She took deliberate steps to get to know who she already was. I have now watched Frozen II way too many times. I hope after listening to this podcast you do too! Today we are walking through Elsa's power ballad "Show Yourself". This song showcases my entire relationship with God and I'm still amazed every time I listen to it. As a Methodist minister, I even found that this song follows the Wesleyan Way of Salvation! So if you're into Frozen, theology, or hearing a bit about my own life this episode is for you!

Download this Podcast John 7:1–9—After this, Jesus went around in Galilee.
Hier vind je alle info over Mama for Mini. Recentelijk startte ze ook een speciale cursus voor ondernemers; Show Yourself. Hierin leert ze je hoe je jezelf beter op de foto kunt zetten. In the light of the spread of Covid-10 and many other challenges, the Church needs a vigorous response. Here is the third of a three part prayer response to some of the challenges the Church and the nations are facing at the moment, set to beautiful music. Set to the music of Bach’s concerto for oboe and violin, BWV 1060 With Thomas Herzog (oboe), Susannah Herzog, Shirley Richards and Helen Rees (violins), Julian Chan (viola), and Jo Garcia (cello). Lord, You warn in Revelation of seven last deadly plagues, those plagues are the completion of Your wrath, and the last of the seven seals, when You permit that sickly, pallid horse and its deathly rider to have authority to kill one-quarter of the world by famine, war and plague. (Rev. 6:8) Covid 19 may not be on that sort of scale, but even those terrors did not lead the greater part of humanity who survived to humble themselves and turn to You. (Rev. 9: 20-21) We cry out for many turn to You while there is yet time. Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say, “Just and true are You in all these judgments, O Holy One, You who are and who were; for they have shed the blood of Your holy people and Your prophets. (Rev. 16:5-6) The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters. The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever. (Ps. 29:3,10) Comfort the hearts of the fearful, Lord Jesus. Soften the selfish and stubborn, Especially those most directly afflicted or infected by Covid; Yes, humble the proud, and save to the uttermost those in isolation, or awaiting test results; those separated from loved ones by distance or restrictions. Show Yourself greater than all human and viral limitations and continue Your mighty work of bringing in a glorious harvest, we pray. Help us in our communities to pull together to meet our neighbours’ needs, and to watch out for one another’s wellbeing, so that in all things the Body of Christ may function as one. May we not lose our sense of focus, momentum and compassion as we respond to these unprecedented times. We pray especially for all doctors and nurses and all in any way associated with caring for others, with the huge responsibilities so suddenly thrust upon them: carers, cleaners, teachers and their organisations, matrons, care home supervisors, pastors and priests and house group leaders . . . Those losing work and pay; service industries, travel firms and airlines, hoteliers and the whole tourist scene; taxi drivers, carpet fitters, estate agents . . . Lord, for the homeless and for the foodbanks, that they may be manned and restocked. It has been wonderful to hear reports from Wuhan about the numbers of people who have been turning to Christ as a result of daily prayer meetings that have been being held online, and the great opportunities that have opened up to reach out to bring others to Christ. Thank You Lord that You used a stable for the birth of Your Son, a Cross as the means of salvation for the world, and the crisis of a pandemic as the means of bringing spiritual life to many. What we hear from Wuhan Lord, You will be doing in other places too. The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters. The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever. (Ps. 29:3,10) Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength! Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Worship the LORD in the splendour of holiness; tremble before him, all the Earth! and say among the nations, “The LORD reigns! (Ps. 96: 7-10)

Show Yourself a Man
In this episode we share stories of how music has impacted us throughout our lives. In Know Yourself, Show Yourself we take a test to see if we are tone deaf, and we talk about the books we are reading, the shows we are watching and who we are listening to and if we like music that is cleaned up for the radio. (We also swear alot)
In episode 11 we talk about books. In Know Yourself, Show Yourself we take a speed reading test. And in wasting time we talk about Atypical, Happier in Hollywood and The Handmaid's Tale.
In episode 9 Tygre heads abroad so our theme is travel. In Know Yourself, Show Yourself we uncover our AQ (like IQ for adventure) and we talk about our best and worst trips while offering up travel tips.
In this episode we talk about the tradition of back-to-school transition. What we love, what we hate and how we do it. In Know Yourself, Show Yourself we take a personality assessment to uncover out coping style and we answer some of Seth Godin's best questions. in Saving Time.

On Episode #35 of Beats, Beards & Brews the gang checks out Mastodon's latest release Emperor of Sand, which serves as a perfect gateway metal album. It's really catchy too and worth a listen for fans of all types of music, even if its concept in no way relates to Disney's underrated The Return of Jafar. Dan and Eric then give their take on an oil/balm sample they ordered from Burton's Beard Oil that included Business Blend oil and Tobacco balm. Does size matter when ordering a beard sample pack? Tune in to find the answer. In the true spirit of the early days of Beats, Beards & Brews, everyone grabs a different beer from Left Hand Brewing Co. because Eric was a little quick on the draw when picking up Saison au Miel, the new spring seasonal release. Evan reviews Left Hand's Extrovert IPA and Dan goes with the Introvert IPA. Dan finds out that not all Left Hand Brewing beers need to be poured hard. The three friends proceed to have an insightful discussion on session ales for craft beer enthusiasts and Cracked Black Pepper Triscuits with a hint of honey. Post-Show Notes: Eric mentions the "Show Yourself" video during the podcast. Here's a direct link for you to enjoy while eating Nabisco pepper crackers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUGda7GdZPQ
