1983 single by The Smiths

“Hand in Glove – single version” (1983)2. “Back to the Old House” (Peel Session 14/9/1983)3. “This Charming Man – single version” (1983. Podremos viajar en el tiempo para entrar en los estudios donde se gestaron éxitos como “This Charming Man”, “What Difference Does It Make?”, “Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now”, “William, It Was Really Nothing», «How Soon Is Now?” y, cómo no, The Smiths, su LP debut. Episode 182: This week we discuss This Charming Man by The Smiths. Maybe we don't know so much about these things. But we love this song. This is our second to last episode before our LIVE show in January!! Stay tuned for details! Special THANK YOU Chuck Savage and Eddie Hawkins: Intro music
Indie Rock project The Persian Leaps presents "Jeane" an addictive rendition of one of the Smiths Lesser known tracks celebrates the band's colossal body of work and the impact it has had on so many people. Originally released in 1983 as the B-side to "This Charming Man" it was released on 7-inch vinyl and later released in several formats. Based in Minneapolis, The Persian Leaps was founded by songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Drew Forsberg, who wrote solo under his name for years before he finally assembled a band in 2012. The single follows the Persian Leaps widely acclaimed "Machines for Living EP (2022) and the Drone Etiquette album (2021)."This cover of 'Jeane' is my tribute to The Smiths, who have been an important influence on me since 1985. I never took guitar lessons, but I did buy a 'Meat Is Murder' songbook and learn to play the songs as best I could. Without the Smiths, The Persian Leaps would still exist, but we'd sound very different, with less jangle and happier lyrics," says Drew Forsberg.https://thepersianleaps.comhttps://thepersianleaps.bandcamp.comQUEEN OF WANDS with DJ Nocturna Every Saturday on ModSnap Radio | KMOD: San Antonio3pm (HST), 5pm (PST), 6pm (MST), 7pm (CST), 8pm (EST)Follow me on my other social media sites :Website: https://djnocturna.comRadio: https://modsnapradio.comhttp://www.facebook.com/nocturna.remixed/https://www.instagram.com/DJNocturna

Louise Ward of Wardinis Bookshop in Havelock North reviews The Stranger Times by CK McDonnell (2nd in This Charming Man series), published by Penguin.
In this episode, Caimh talks about launch week for This Charming Man, explains why he thinks it is important to have a diverse bunch of characters in his stories and how being 'politically correct' actually just means being correct. Then, the wonderful Ben Van Der Velde reads The Keeper of The Dead short story.
The wonderful Brendan McDonald (No relation) joins us to read a preview of This Charming Man - out Feb 17th. You'll love it so much, you'll preorder it on the spot, and you've already done that six times already. You can't have too many copies.
We continue our dive into Russian post-punk with Russian Pete. Lots of stuff about how they even made records outside of the sanctioned music industry and the CIA asset codenamed Joanna Stingray. Peter also sings This Charming Man for like 4 seconds. We snuck out a KGB interview on a bone record for this episode, don't expect it to stay uploaded for long. Topics: KGB, Assa, Igla, Viktor Tsoi, soyboys, Tsoi-boys, Keith Haring, The Queen Is Dead, Winds of Change, SIG-INT, The Iron Curtain, The Brothers Karamazov, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Vladimir Putin, Lukashenko, Kiev, Ukraine
Caimh drops a surprise album ala Bouncy Knowles by giving you an exclusive preview of Firewater Blues, the sixth book in the increasingly inaccurately titled Dublin Trilogy. He also talks about This Charming Man, the follow-up to The Stranger Times written by his paranormal alter-ego CK McDonnell. Find out more at TheStrangerTimes.Com.

...... O.K.......it's time for this weeks "one of the worst records ever made" spot.....no...not Mull of Kintyre....but close........it features my least favourite group in the world...The Smiths........it is called "This Charming Man" and it sounds like the band has laid down a backing track and Morrisey has come along and sung to a different tune....and I think the bass player is on speed......even talking about this record is hard work never mind listening to it so here it is....This Charming Man by The Smiths..
Find us at: iTunes Spotify Google Play On today's very special Track Meet, we're joined by the amazingly awesome Raeanna Larson of Mount Olympus University. And why is this episode of Track Meet out on a Wednesday? Well it's because today is Raeanna's birthday! [Fireworks! Confetti Cannons! Noisemakers!] Raeanna's birthday gives us a bit of a challenge this week, though, as we dig through the very murky musical year of 1992. Enjoy this little tour through 1992 on this extra awesome Raeanna-centered #SongFight! "Hey Jealousy" written byDoug Hopkins, performed by Gin Blossoms. ℗ 1989, 1992 A&M Records, Inc. "Friday on My Mind" written by Harry Vanda and George Young, performed by The Easybeats. ℗ 1966 Parlophone, United Artists Records.
