“I want you to understand what you're doing and why you're doing it. I want you to believe in the mission, and I want you to have fun. I want you to enjoy the process, and I want you to know that what you're doing is a worthwhile endeavor.” Like many of us, Matt Wilpers grew up wanting to be a marine biologist. ("I was really into whales," he recalls.) Ultimately, he pursued a career in finance, working as an analyst and auditor with KPMG and, later, Goldman Sachs. When he realized the NYC finance lifestyle wasn't for him, Matt decided to go to medical school, and, as a lifelong athlete and former collegiate runner, started teaching fitness classes on the side. Then, just as he was getting ready to pursue his medical career full-time, he got the call from Peloton. Plot twist! Today, Matt is one of Peloton's most popular cycling and treadmill instructors, and has his own coaching business. On this episode, Matt talks about why he's so passionate about coaching, and why getting to help people on their own fitness journeys is "the dream." He talks about coaching actress Lena Dunham, sharing stories about how while he was hired to help her, it was Lena who changed his life. Plus, he shares loads of qualified running advice about overtraining, race day anxiety, and how to "run arrogant" and more confident. Matt is a 2:54 marathoner, 1:17 half marathoner, and 10:38 Ironman who lives in New York City. SPONSOR: AfterShokz — Visit ontherun.aftershokz.com for 15% off wireless headphones. An Over Coffee® special-edition podcast (Graphic courtesy of NASA, and used with permission.) As the world applauds Sir Richard Branson's successful flight aboard his own spaceship, NASA continues exciting work on another front. For the NASA Artemis mission, the first step is to return humans to the Moon. Colonizing the Moon comes next. Along with exploring the surface--while looking forward, possibly, to future Mars flights. As NASA Mission Design and Planetary Science specialist Matt Wittal explains, the program will include three major launches. Artemis I and Artemis II will be preparatory work. Then, within the next few years, Artemis III will return humans to the Moon. In April, we had the pleasure of talking with Matt about the Artemis program and NASA's current work. Here is an updated version of our conversation! On this edition of Over Coffee®, we cover: What's been happening since our 2019 discussion with Matt (Since this was recorded, in April 2021,NASA has announced its choice of SpaceX to build the rocket that will fly astronauts to the Moon. And congratulations to everyone at NASA on Ingenuity's historic, first successful flight!); A look at what will be happening, with the Artemis project and beyond; Some of the safety and sustainability considerations involved, in creating the missions to the Moon (and ultimately to Mars); How NASA determines the location for a Moon landing; Some of the program's upcoming milestones; What will be happening as Artemis II returns astronauts to orbiting the Moon; How the design of the mission has evolved, since 2019; How other nations are collaborating on the lunar-exploration program; Some of the science goals of the mission; One of the coolest technologies Matt has seen in spacecraft development within the last year; What the Artemis III crew will be doing, after their arrival at the Moon; Some of the educational opportunities coming up in the future, as the Artemis launches get closer; What Matt considers some of his most exciting moments as he works on the Artemis program. Matt Feldman is the Co-founder and CEO of Moku Foods. Growing up in Hawaii, Matt was raised with an appreciation for nature and a lifelong commitment to preserve the environment. He learned at an early age about the meat industry's immense carbon footprint, which led him toward plant based foods and sustainable food sources. A serial entrepreneur, Matt started his first business with his sister buying and selling used college textbooks. While attending college at Brook University, he co-founded Undorm.com, an online platform designed to help college students find affordable housing. He also co-founded his first food startup, Cinco Terras Specialty Coffee, during that time. After graduating, Matt joined a leading technology company where he learned the ins and outs of growing an online business. In 2018, he transitioned to a vegan lifestyle and began looking for a replacement for his go-to-snack, beef jerky. He decided to create his own after struggling to find a minimally-processed, allergen-free alternative at the grocery store. He teamed up with two well-known culinary experts, Thomas Bowman and Ali Bouzari, to develop a jerky alternative that would emulate the taste and texture of the meat while remaining healthy for consumers and the planet. After over a year of development, the mushroom-based Moku was finally born. In 2020, Moku earned a coveted spot on Amazon's invitation only Emerging Brands Program. Matt is also one of Forbes 30 Under 30. Here's a glimpse of what you'll learn: Matt Feldman's journey to find an alternative to beef jerky How mushrooms are processed to make jerky How Matt started the business while working full time Matt explains what 'Moku' means and describes what he learned about scalability and finding a co-packer How Matt grew the e-commerce side of the business after launching Moku in 2020 Matt talks about his product's flavors, compares his product to regular meat jerky and describes his target market What Matt has learned from selling on Amazon and his future growth plans for the brand How Moku Foods handles product fulfilment, how they communicate with their customers, and how they got into Amazon's invitation-only Emerging Brands Program The DTC marketing strategies Moku Foods uses to engage with customers The challenges Matt faced growing sales and increasing customer base and his advice to fellow entrepreneurs on handling such challenges In this episode… When starting a CPG brand to provide a healthy alternative to meat, most entrepreneurs target vegans or vegetarians. However, in reality, there are many consumers who choose to eat healthier alternatives without being vegan or vegetarian. That's what Matt Feldman from Moku Foods found out while growing his beef-jerky-alternative, CPG business. Most of his customers were people trying to shift from meat to plant based foods, which explained the high demand for his mushroom-based jerky. He therefore concentrated his marketing on this target audience. In this episode of the NexxtLevel Brands Podcast, Steve Cleere is joined by Matt Feldman, Co-founder and CEO of Moku Foods, to discuss how Matt started producing mushroom-based jerky as an alternative to beef jerky. Matt also talks about how he fulfils orders, the challenges he faced scaling his business, and his advice for selling on Amazon. (Graphic courtesy of NASA, and used with permission.) NASA's current work on its Artemis lunar exploration program may seem like the stuff of science fiction. Which makes it that much more mind-blowing. Plans and preparations continue for the multiple-mission project, designed to return humans to the Moon within the next few years. But rather than a final objective, that return will be the beginning of more far-reaching research. Currently, NASA is at work on the Gateway: a lunar outpost, designed to orbit the Moon. Gateway, according to NASA's website, will support long-term human presence on the lunar surface, and serve as a staging point for deep space exploration. That includes possible future trips to Mars. The lunar-exploration program, as detailed on NASA's website, will involve three separate Artemis flights. The third, Artemis III, will include the first female astronaut to set foot on the lunar surface. Once on the Moon, the astronauts will be conducting research from a lunar "base camp". Their work will directly impact how we do business on Earth, as well as leading to more sustainable ways of interacting with our environment. Here is a special update, starring NASA Mission Design and Planetary Science specialist Matt Wittal, on what's been happening with the Artemis program since our discussion in 2019! On this edition of Over Coffee®, we cover: What's been happening sincw our 2019 discussion with Matt (and, UPDATE--since this was recorded, NASA has announced its choice of SpaceX to build the rocket that will fly astronauts to the Moon!); What was going on during the recent "hot fire" test; A look at what will be happening, with the Artemis project and beyond; Some of the safety and sustainability considerations involved, in creating the missions to the Moon (and ultimately to Mars); Considerations involved, in determining the location for a Moon landing; Some of the program's upcoming milestones; What will be happening as Artemis II returns astronauts to orbiting the Moon; How the design of the Artemis mission has evolved, since 2019; How other nations are collaborating with the Artemis lunar-exploration program; Some of the science goals of the mission; One of the coolest technologies Matt has seen in spacecraft development within the last year; What the Artemis III crew will be doing, after they arrive at the Moon; Some of the educational opportunities coming up in the future, as the Artemis launches get closer; What Matt considers some of his most exciting moments as he works on the Artemis program. Personally, I’ve never had a fear of flying. In fact, I really like it. I’m not sure if it’s the flying itself, or maybe it’s the fact that the flying just means I’m probably going somewhere to see people or have fun. But I’ve never had that feeling like “Oh…what if the plane just falls from the sky and we all die.” I don’t think I’ve ever worried about that. Which might be kind of odd, since I do have a fear of heights, but that only started after I fell off a roof. But that’s another story. And if you’re on a flight and you’re sitting next to someone who is just terrified, it doesn’t really matter if you tell them how safe it is to fly in an airplane. I mean, there are around 100,000 flights that happen every single day all around the world. There’s really nothing to be afraid of. But what if you’re on a flight…and there is actually cause for concern? Like, the pilot sees a thunderstorm ahead that you’ll be flying through, or maybe something is not working right on the plane, and he makes the announcement that the plane might be in trouble. That would probably scare most people. That’s what happened on a commercial flight from Phoenix to Dallas a couple of years ago. The pilot didn’t say what the problem was specifically, but he came over intercom and gave the passengers the instructions to brace for impact. Fortunately, the pilot was able to land the plane safely and no one was injured. But I’m guessing a few prayers went up, and some phone calls were made to loved ones. Can you imagine how happy those passengers must have been when they finally felt the wheels touch down on that runway, and they knew they were safe. My conversation today is with Matt. Matt is a licensed airplane pilot. And there was one day when he was flying a small plane, and it was just him – no passengers. He took off and got up to cruising altitude, and for a while everything seemed fine. What Matt didn’t know was…that plane would never touch down on an airport runway again.

Few hygienists want to bring politics into the office, but the truth is that if you want to make lasting changes to the profession, then you need to work with the legislators who pass state and federal laws. The guest for this week’s A Tale of Two Hygienists has firsthand working with the legislative movers and shakers. Matt Crespin is the associate director for the Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin, former president of American Dental Hygienists Association, and a hygienist himself, but you might be more familiar with him in his role as host of the Your Official ADHA Podcast, which you can find on our very own Dental Podcast Network! Matt and Garrett want to wish all their listeners a very Happy Thanksgiving, and welcome everyone to their podcast today, which is all about gratitudes. As clichéd as that might seem, this is about so much more than simply giving thanks one day a year, but building this noble act into your daily schedule, consistently through both good times and more challenging ones. As you will come to understand today, they can have a profoundly positive impact upon your life and business, and need to become a permanent component of our day-to-day activities. Our hosts review the need to structure gratitude into your day, and share the many benefits that will result, as well as some examples of Ninjas out there who are enjoying great success through this commitment, and an exercise that you can implement immediately. They also recommend revisiting both a previous episode of great relevance as well as Mel Robbins’ YouTube video, and share some of the many things we can be thankful for in 2020. Far from being optional or an afterthought, gratitudes are a key component to success in life and business – science and experience support this fact fully. On this very special day of giving thanks, let’s all commit to making gratitudes a part of our lives every single day. Episode Highlights: Structuring gratitude into your day The physical effects of gratitude Not being tied to the outcome Andrea Tuell’s remarkable example of gratitude A gratitude exercise Changing your energy Maintaining your gratitudes consistently Things to be grateful for in 2020 Opening up your vision and looking at your business differently Revisit the August 6 episode Reinventing holiday traditions 2020 as a positive turning point Mel Robbins’ Foggy Day YouTube video What Matt and Garrett are grateful for Quotes: “There’s a lot of power and science behind that.” “It’s a state of being…you’re trying to change your core being.” “You actually feed off that energy from other people.” “Gratitude can even be structured throughout the day.” “We know that gratitude can actually reduce stress hormones.” “All of a sudden, confidence grows.” “Why don’t I do this more often?” “This is going to be a fascinating generation, and I actually think it’s going to be for the good.” “This is giving them tools that a lot of us never have ever experienced.” “A lot of people were very grateful for the health of the real estate market.” “Being grateful for those challenges is important.” “Is this happening to me or is it happening for me?” “How can we look at this differently?” “What about ‘Thank you, 2020’?” “Have a wonderful, wonderful Thanksgiving.” Links: www.TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Email us at TSW@TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Ninja Selling www.NinjaSelling.com @ninjasellingofficial Ninja Coaching: www.NinjaCoaching.com @ninja.coaching Garrett garrett@ninjacoaching.com @ninjaredding Matt matt@ninjacoaching.com @matthewjbonelli

Well, it’s finally happened – Zillow has decided to open their own brokerage and have started hiring agents. What Matt and Garrett want you to know is that this is a time to be excited (not freak out), and to view this development as encouragement to shake off any complacency, to take a good look at your business, and to make doubly sure that all your systems are up and running and firing on all cylinders. They begin by emphasizing the fact that if you are confident in your business, systems, and relationships, you have nothing to fear from big companies or anyone else starting up their own brokerages. They also stress that you need to ensure that you and all in your sphere understand your value and why you do the things you do, and to know your audience and market to them accordingly. Getting creative with your business and keeping up your Ninja systems are cited as keys to ensuring that you have nothing to fear from new brokerages being formed, and that sticking with Matt, Garrett, and the Ninja system will go a long way to ensuring that you control your successful future in the real estate business. Episode Highlights: Being confident in your business, systems, and relationships Big companies starting their own brokerages Ensuring that you, your clients, and those around you understand your value and why you do all you do Know your audience and ensure your marketing resonates with them Getting creative with your business Keeping up your Ninja systems Quotes: “It doesn’t matter what big companies do for you if you’re confident in your business and your systems and your relationships.” “If you’re not paying attention to how you’re doing your business, if you’re not innovating, then, yes, companies and programs and automation will come in there and replace you because it can.” “I think it’s exciting. I think it’s actually really cool.” “The only reason this stuff should scare you, is if your clients don’t see any value in what you offer.” “You’re only going to focus on the why’s that actually mean something to that person that’s sitting in front of you right now.” “I think that this is a wonderful time to get creative with your business.” “Zillow…found a marketplace and they’re going to be with us…but it’s not your people.” “People in those upper price ranges, even more so, want a trusted adviser and a professional that’s holding their hand through the process and watching out for dangers.” “It doesn’t mean the end of the game.” “If you want to have a job in the next 5 years as a realtor, that’s totally on you.” “Making sure that you’re sharing your value consistently and at a very high level with your people so they understand and they feel the value.” Links: www.TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Email us at TSW@TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Ninja Selling www.NinjaSelling.com @ninjasellingofficial Ninja Coaching: www.NinjaCoaching.com @ninja.coaching Garrett garrett@ninjacoaching.com @ninjaredding Matt matt@ninjacoaching.com @matthewjbonelli

One issue that Matt and Garrett are seeing with increasing frequency in their clients these days is the need to confirm or re-evaluate their ‘why’. When all is going well and people are moving through their typical day to day, they don’t really concentrate so much on this aspect, but when things change or become uncertain, as they have during these past 6 months or so, it’s high time to re-evaluate your ‘why’, and our hosts walk you through that process today. They begin by reviewing the difference between goals and your ‘why’, the reasons that it is so important, and what specifically Matt is seeing with his clients in this regard these days. They then go on to discuss the notion of the big picture, the legacy you want to leave behind, and using real estate as a vehicle for achieving happiness. Some practices surrounding re-evaluating your ‘why’ are introduced, especially the Life List, along with some resources to consult such as the four quadrants. They conclude by encouraging listeners to really determine who they are and who they want to be at their core, and by sharing the importance of giving yourself space in order to achieve this. This is yet another inspired episode where our hosts go far beyond the world of real estate to address your overall well-being, which will, in turn, improve all aspects of your life, including, of course, your business. Episode Highlights: Questions for the upcoming Q & A episode The difference between goals and the ‘why’ Why the ‘why’ is so important What Matt is seeing these days regarding his clients’ ‘why’ Your impact and legacy Real estate as a vehicle to achieve happiness Re-evaluating your ‘why’ The Life List and some Life List resources The quadrants of to do, to have, to be, to give Who you are at the core Giving yourself space to put on your emotional armor Quotes: “Goals are different from the ‘why’. The ‘why’ is like the journey.” “Step into this really small word with massive impact.” “When you protect your purpose, your purpose protects you.” “Without the ‘why’, the ‘why’ just turns into ‘work harder’.” “What are people saying about you at your funeral?” “My ‘why’s may not be the things they were last year – the things that really drive me.” “It’s an exercise that we don’t do often enough.” “We start to put some purpose into our action.” “This is what’s important to me in my life right now. This is where I’m at.” “We all need to made sure we’re putting on our emotional armor at the beginning of the day and use that time to connect with ourselves.” “I want everybody to think about that also, as you’re putting down the things on your life list, really stop and analyze what part of these four quadrants does this give to. While everything Matt and Garrett say makes perfect sense to them, they have come to realize that it may not be as clear in the minds of others, and today’s episode provides a perfect example of this fact. Thanks to a request sent in by Liz Davis of North Bend, Washington, our hosts devote the entire show today to more fully explaining the use of talking points which they have mentioned in previous episodes. To begin with, they explain what they mean by a talking point, offer some examples, and demonstrate how they are different from data points. They then offer numerous possibilities for talking point topics, emphasize the importance of using them to educate your people, and explore the possibility of using your own internal data to generate them. As you will discover, preparing informative talking points for every venue and platform will go a long way toward rendering you the ‘go to’ expert in your field - an enviable position which will prove both personally and professionally valuable. Episode Highlights: What Matt and Garrett mean by a ‘talking point’ Examples of talking points Talking points vs. data points Talking point topics Educating your people Using your own internal data Preparing talking points for every venue/platform Becoming the expert in your field Quotes: “You’ve given them a chunk of information that’s so valuable…that somebody else says, ‘Where did you hear that from?’” “A talking point can lead to a story…leaves them wanting to learn more.” “Mortgage industry’s got a ton of talking points around it right now.” “I never looked at it that way.” “You’re taking something that was just kind of information, and turning it into education.” “These kinds of talking points set you apart…some of us take this game a whole lot more seriously.” “The more you become that expert, you become the ‘go to’ person when it comes to anything that has to do with real estate.” Links: www.TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Email us at TSW@TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Ninja Selling www.NinjaSelling.com @ninjasellingofficial Ninja Coaching: www.NinjaCoaching.com @ninja.coaching Garrett garrett@ninjacoaching.com @ninjaredding Matt matt@ninjacoaching.com @matthewjbonelli

In today's episode, we'll talk about why you should hire a life coach and it can help you grow your business. Today, I'm bringing Matt Laughlin. Matt is a personal, business, and relationship coach. Working with him is a generative, creative, and healing process. He doesn't follow a set program. Instead, his coaching is shaped by who you are, what you hold dear to you, and what you seek to create or overcome. What You'll Hear In This Episode How did Matt switch from therapy to coaching? Does Matt find to get better results without the confines of the therapeutic license? Why should somebody work with a life coach as explained by Matt? How does somebody find a legitimate coach? The only real metric of whether you found the right coach is to examine the inner growth that unfolds in the coming months. What are the telltale signs that somebody is a good coach, as discussed by Matt? A good coach knows when to push and pull. How does Matt define life coaching? The four distinctions of coaching, as proposed by Matt. What are Matt's thoughts on coaches who take the first distinction of coaching too far? What Matt found that seems to move the needle when it comes to business? Why do a lot of people get stuck into the trap of looking externally to produce results rather than starting to go inside themselves as discussed by Matt? What wisdom would Matt give his younger self that would help him collapse time and get results faster? If somebody will follow Matt's advice, what possibilities will open for them? Matt is far more than your standard retired college football player. You may get caught up and stop at his incredible curling ability, but carry on. What Matt in his ability to crawl into tight spaces be makes up for with a big presence and encompassing hugs. When Matt was looking for a house with his stunning wife Katie they had the normal list of necessities. Garage, kitchen, a roof or two, but Matt had one that most people don't think to add. He said "I want a lawn so big that the second I finish mowing it, I need to start again on the other side. I want a lawn so big that my Clifford sized dog can run laps and not see the whole thing". We all said "No! You're crazy!!!" but he proved us wrong. Matt's happy place... is in the seat of his spaceship style lawn mower. Matt also says good morning. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/gmtyou/message
Today’s guest is Matt Gallant, the savant-like and incredibly successful entrepreneur and CEO of BiOptimizers who has turned his life into a brain and body biohacking experiment! He is here to talk about all his practices and the supplements he uses to perform at a super high level. We begin by considering a theme that plays out through our whole conversation – the fine line between being hyperfocused and neurotically obsessed and the role gratitude plays in this. From there, we chat with Matt about the value of doubling down on one thing and how doing extensive personality tests can help in this respect. We turn our attention to the meat of our conversation next – neurofeedback, a method of clearing the limbic system of traumas and the central place it occupies in Matt’s biohacking practice. The intensive, days-long neurofeedback challenges Matt embarks on are taxing on the nervous system and we hear about the compounds he uses to help him withstand them, many of which are produced by his own company! He speaks to the extremely positive impact that his biohacking experiments have had on his relationships, well-being, and business. We are proud to say that BiOptimizers is the sponsor of our show today, and we spend the last moments of our exchange talking about a few more of their products that help to fortify the digestive tract and the benefits of this. BiOptimizers is a leader in supporting a "biologically optimized state of health" through their range of gut-health and digestive support supplements and other related products. Peruse their products at bioptimizers.com and use the code MUSCLE10 for a discount; Ben specifically recommends their MagTech product, since magnesium is a mineral vital to so many health processes that many of us are deficient in - go to magbreakthrough.com/muscle to learn more. Matt Schrier is an American photographer who survived seven months as an Al-Qaeda captive in Syria before escaping, and the author of The Dawn Prayer: A Memoir. What We Discuss with Matt Schrier: How Matt Schrier was captured by Al-Qaeda just 45 minutes away from the border on his way out of Syria in 2012. How making his captors laugh on day one of his captivity got him special treatment from a usually unforgiving crowd. What Matt did to survive and plan an escape in spite of an unhelpful, self-sabotaging cellmate.
