A love note to you. Ambitious woman with a brilliant scattered mindThat many women around the planet are ruminating overthinking and second-guessing themselves, we are human and we welcome all the things the good the bad and the in-between.And, we can work on these habits (and conditioning sometimes decades old)as they do not serve us they hold us back from being who we truly are at a deep core level.A reminder that nostalgia can bring us joy, and of course can be bittersweet.A beautiful surprise encounter with an old friend reminded me of this this recently, of the connection with our past and how powerful it can be.Memories can provide us the opportunity to heal and accept ourselves, from a more mature standpoint.I invite you to revisit your timeline and bring love and acceptance to the experiences relationships and feelings that might benefit from your attentionThe more we acknowledge the parts of ourselves we want to keep hidden the more we can build the resources and courage to be our bold badass selves!!!And together we riseI love you

Over time we accumulate things that we deem precious and valuable at some point, and as time continues those things that were deemed valuable could be pushed aside. Not because they failed in any capacity, but because of the wealth of options we have at our disposal. We can lose friendships, clothes, jewelry, and much more if we don't take Inventory. Phillip Conley Jr. walks through examples of such things in this week's episode. Tune in and see if you've dealt with any of the awkward moments stated. And if you haven't ran into any awkward moments that's being talked about, you might know someone who has. If this episode/podcast has offered any value, help, and or lesson, don't forget to subscribe/share/rate/review. Show Notes: You matter Partnerships matter spouses/marriages matter Have you taken inventory? (Metaphor for life)Where's your energy spent?KidsWife Husband Yourself Effects from not taking inventory Not knowing what you have/whats available Are you paying attention Inventory helps you pay attentionThe fact you don't have something will make you want it more. Makes us want things we don't necessarily need People may be doing everything they can for us, but it's up to us to appreciate it.Take a break Look at the subject from a different perspective Let's continue to be a student of life/people We may have quantity but not qualityIts true frustration when you realize you have options but none of them suit your needsYou may not have something/someone that can fulfill my needs, ultimately its on me. The person may be in your life, but we may not have realized who they are Some treat people like clothes We haven't full committed ourselves to the relationships in our lifeInventory, helps you know who you are and see who someone is Human interaction is messy Not talking to the people that know there isn't going to be a futureLife can hurt while you're adjusting your reference levels Communicate what you need so interpretation isn't needed Buyers remorse is a thing, even in human interactionThere are some people that have fullfiled their purpose in your life Inventory helps you realize what's old, stuff that needs tossing, and where there's space to grow. The fact that you have something else in the back of your mind, may make you second guess what you have Being spread too thin can make you overlook the value in your life It's a fact that there's no such thing as multitasking Having your attention in multiple places will hinder you from spending the necessary time with each subjectMake things happen don't let things happen to you. No one is concrete in your life except you. We're here to tell you that you're enoughYou have the tools You have the gifts You're genius No bad days!! In this episode we show you how to command your focus and attention. We discuss why many people have the wrong idea of what it means to be productive - and how thinking that you need to boil your life down to spreadsheets and checklists is the wrong way to approach productivity . We share the secret ingredient for true productivity - and look at exactly how you can implement it, practically and realistically, in your own life with our guest Chris Bailey. Chris is a productivity expert, speaker, and best-selling author. His career began by conducting a year-long experiment examining best practices for productivity which is documented in his book, The Productivity Project. His latest book Hyperfocus aims to help readers stay focused and avoid distractions. His work has been featured in The Harvard Business Review, The New York Times, TED, Fast Company, and more! Many people have the wrong idea of what productivity is - and it often leads to implementing the wrong solutions It’s not about efficiency and boiling your life down to checklists and spreadsheetsIf there’s one thing that underlies real productivity is INTENTION We are perfectly productive when we accomplish the things we set out to doIntention is like the “wood behind the arrow"The percentage of the day with which you act with intention is directly proportional to your results and to the quality of your life How much control of attention you have is correlated with happiness, satisfaction, and productivity What is intentionality and why is it so important? Most people manage their time relatively well, but where they massively fall short is managing their ATTENTIONThe novelty bias in our brains causes us to constantly jump into new phenomenon to get our next dopamine hitDeliberate mind wandering is as important as the time we focus on being productive“Not all those who wander are lost” - J. R. R. TolkeinCultivating “unfocus”, mind wandering, and contemplative routines open up space to focus on and determine what’s most important - to unearth the beautiful, brilliant ideas we wouldn’t arrive at otherwiseResearchers found that people who watched 6 or more hours of news coverage about a bombing were more likely to develop PTSD than someone who was actually at the bombing event (Boston Marathon) How do you go about taming your distractions?Does meditation waste time or does it make you more productive?Meditation is one of the few things that gives you more attention and focus for other thingsWhen you have an active meditation practice your working memory increases by up to 30% If you don’t execute on productivity ideas and strategies - what’s the point?Meditation has the best time-adjusted return of any productivity strategy We look at busyness as a proxy for how productive we are when that’s completely wrong. Working on a sleep deficit shrinks your ability to focus by up to 60% There’s a huge amount of guilt, especially in western society, around taking breaks, resting, and downtime - even though these are HUGE components of being highly effective and productive How do you deal with the GUILT of not feeling productive?Set 3 intentions every day, set 3 intentions every week, and set 3 intentions every year Pre-Decisions create intention throughout your day How do you Re-Charge your attention?Habitual tasks create the structure that frees our mind to think freely and wander Homework: What resonated the most for YOU - take action on that? Greetings everyone, my name is Julie Masters and welcome to another episode of Inside Influence. In which I delve into the minds of some of the world’s most fascinating influencers – or experts in influence - to get to the bottom of what it really takes to own your voice - and then amplify it to drive an industry, a conversation, a movement or a nation. In this episode, we journey from mastery to magic decoding the magician's secrets with the incredible Vinh Giang. While it’s fair to say I research all of my guests in great detail, I literally had to pull myself away from the computer as I could have easily lost days in total awe of Vinh's genius. Vinh has a gift for translating the magician's code in a business context. He demystifies the illusions of magic and has created seriously compelling content empowering audiences with the tools to navigate technicality vs performance and craft vs charisma. He is fascinated by the human psychology behind the tricks, the nature of perception, and the art of illusion. He uses these tools as metaphors to unlock the audience's mind to an array of new possibilities. Vinh explores concepts such as timing, practice, skills, connection and of course the influence of the magician over the audience. His ultimate goal whether it is in business or life is to see the possible in the impossible. To feel the magic in the metaphors and to find the solutions that set success in motion. As a speaker, Vinh has partnered with many organisations including globally recognized names such as HSBC, Microsoft, and Gartner. As an innovator, Vinh founded the first online training platform to teach magic, and as a result, was honored to be awarded South Australia Young Entrepreneur. As an awarded magician, he has created magic for audiences all over the world. Growing up in a refugee family Vinh always valued hard work as the road to success, and this attitude is evident in his mission to educate others on the mastery behind the magic and the process behind the perception. During the interview, I was again in sheer awe of Vinhs ability to communicate the impossible to make it possible and could have easily lost hours in conversation. To summarise, we covered off some of the following key points in our discussion... The power of following your passionThe balance between technical skill and performanceThe unwritten agreement to be a master of illusion in magicUnderstanding our vehicle for influenceThe body and voice as our most powerful instrumentHow we hold, keep and control attentionThe power of rate, pitch, and pause when presentingThe sight, sound and synch audit when reviewing our presentationsUnderstanding the voice as the tool to impactWhat is mastery and how is it achievedThe power of perspective in challenging whats possibleWhy magic lives in the unknownWhy talent has nothing to do with successWhy great teachers craft the experience Get ready to soak up tips, tools, and insights from a true master of communication, influence, and performance. Vinh is on a mission to assist others to 'never die with the music still inside', and this podcast is a guide that will allow you to begin to understand your song, your rhythm, and what it takes to master that melody and ultimately create magic in the lives of those with whom you influence.
