The podcast talks about writing and publishing. You can find him athttps://armandrosamilia.com ( Armand Rosamilia) for his latest releases and interviews and guest posts with other authors he likes.   “When I look back on my life, at least I can say I tried, and it failed. I gave it a shot.” Armand Rosamilia   Worst investment everArmand wanted to become a writer ever since he was 12 years old. However, he was now in his 40s and was yet to muster the courage to do what he wanted to do most—write. Living a life of obligationEverything that Armand did in his life was out of obligation. He got a job to be able to pay bills and take care of his family. He hated his job so much, but he couldn’t stop working. His ex-wife would not let him quit. Armand had to continue meeting his obligation to his wife and kids. Sneaking out to pursue his passionThe dream of becoming a writer never left Armand. Every night he would sneak out of bed and stay up to write. This habit annoyed his ex-wife so much, but he kept doing it. Hitting rock bottom and rising to his dreamOne day, Armand found himself jobless, and even though his ex-wife was pushing him to get another job, he spent the time writing. He managed to finish his first story. He could not be happier even though he was dead broke. At this point, Armand’s ex-wife was tired of pushing him to get a job and decided to leave him. Armand was devastated. His life was a complete mess, and he could barely take care of his family. He was ready to take on any job to make ends meet. However, Armand’s day of becoming a writer had come. The breakthroughUnbeknownst to Armand, a publisher had picked up his book, read it, and loved it. As his wife walked out of the door and left him for good, his phone rang. It was the publisher. He said he would love to have a conversation with him about a deal he had struck with a movie company in Hollywood. The company wanted to turn Armand’s book into a movie. This opportunity catapulted Armand’s career as a full-time author. He has not looked back since. Lessons learnedYour dreams are valid even if other people do not believe in themDo not stop chasing your dreams just because other people do not believe in them. You are the only one who can make your dreams come true. Do not let anyone tell you that you are not worth dreaming. Andrew’s takeawaysPursuing your dreams will not be easy, but you have to do itIf you have a passion, go for it. The world is not just going to open up for you. You have to do it yourself. People are going to resist and doubt you. They are going to challenge you and even discourage you. But, there is a point in your life when you have to decide to make your passion work. If you do that, hopefully, if you are good at it, then you will get your breakthrough. Your dreams will not always be validated, and that is okIt feels nice to be validated but don’t chase your dreams because you want validation from other people. External validation is not a guarantee. Pursue your dreams for yourself. Actionable advicePursue your dreams. Strive for what you believe in and...

Greetings everyone, my name is Julie Masters and welcome to another episode of Inside Influence. In which I delve into the minds of some of the world’s most fascinating influencers – or experts in influence - to get to the bottom of what it really takes to own your voice - and then amplify it to drive an industry, a conversation, a movement or a nation. In this episode, we journey from mastery to magic decoding the magician's secrets with the incredible Vinh Giang. While it’s fair to say I research all of my guests in great detail, I literally had to pull myself away from the computer as I could have easily lost days in total awe of Vinh's genius. Vinh has a gift for translating the magician's code in a business context. He demystifies the illusions of magic and has created seriously compelling content empowering audiences with the tools to navigate technicality vs performance and craft vs charisma. He is fascinated by the human psychology behind the tricks, the nature of perception, and the art of illusion. He uses these tools as metaphors to unlock the audience's mind to an array of new possibilities. Vinh explores concepts such as timing, practice, skills, connection and of course the influence of the magician over the audience. His ultimate goal whether it is in business or life is to see the possible in the impossible. To feel the magic in the metaphors and to find the solutions that set success in motion. As a speaker, Vinh has partnered with many organisations including globally recognized names such as HSBC, Microsoft, and Gartner. As an innovator, Vinh founded the first online training platform to teach magic, and as a result, was honored to be awarded South Australia Young Entrepreneur. As an awarded magician, he has created magic for audiences all over the world. Growing up in a refugee family Vinh always valued hard work as the road to success, and this attitude is evident in his mission to educate others on the mastery behind the magic and the process behind the perception. During the interview, I was again in sheer awe of Vinhs ability to communicate the impossible to make it possible and could have easily lost hours in conversation. To summarise, we covered off some of the following key points in our discussion... The power of following your passionThe balance between technical skill and performanceThe unwritten agreement to be a master of illusion in magicUnderstanding our vehicle for influenceThe body and voice as our most powerful instrumentHow we hold, keep and control attentionThe power of rate, pitch, and pause when presentingThe sight, sound and synch audit when reviewing our presentationsUnderstanding the voice as the tool to impactWhat is mastery and how is it achievedThe power of perspective in challenging whats possibleWhy magic lives in the unknownWhy talent has nothing to do with successWhy great teachers craft the experience Get ready to soak up tips, tools, and insights from a true master of communication, influence, and performance. Vinh is on a mission to assist others to 'never die with the music still inside', and this podcast is a guide that will allow you to begin to understand your song, your rhythm, and what it takes to master that melody and ultimately create magic in the lives of those with whom you influence. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ” Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”The point is not that God will eventually give it if we show how much we want it through continual asking- that is called whining. The point is that if the woman knew that even an unjust judge would grant her request then how much more faith should we have when we are asking our Father who is just and will give to us “speedily”.We have a natural desire to want to push based from Fear and anxiety.1 Samuel 30 David at ziklag- He didnt let emotion or crisis or need define his response.Mark 5 Jairus - Jesus told him not to respond in fear but only believe-fear looked for agreementThis push will get you bad results. The Lord says in the Lord's Prayer that we are to ask but not push because God knows what we need.We only have to ask because we have authority on the earth and He doesnt. If we dont ask then He doesnt have the right to work in our lives. There is also a push that we are supposed to do where the Lord says ask and keep on asking and knock and keep on knocking. This is a good pushJames 1Count it all joy- trials work patience- Joy= strength, Patience= when our strength doesnt diminish at any point in the process. In each trial we have an opportunity to access joy and strength to walk in strength and free from the influence of the circumstance. Exchanging temporal weakness for eternal strength. Many do not get their healing or Miracle, physical or financial, because they aren't persistentWhen something happens in your life that you know isn't right do you give up and allow it because you don't know the answers or do you sell the information to solve the issue?James 4:7, 1 Peter 5 - Resist the Devil- Resist = push back with greater force. The ditches we can get into is to blame God based on a false definition of Gods sovereignty or a self condemning view that says that we must deserve what happening. Persistence doesn't change God, or the devil, it changes us. It is engaging and having faith in the process of transforming our hearts and souls. Consistent action of faith and obedience anchors our souls to the eternal. It places a demand on our hearts to acknowledge and yield to our true identity which will naturally receive the redemptive rights purchased through the blood. (James 1: lack of obedience to the word causes us to forget what manner of man we are. As we continue in the perfect law of liberty we know who we really are and freely receive all thats ours.) Things that stop us:Lack of knowledgeJames 1 - Lack of Patience comes from lack of Wisdom = seeing the situation like God does. Lack of confidence in yourself to be used or that you could know anythingVision has dimmedProverbs 29:18 - Where there is no vision the people wander aimlessly- without purpose or passionThe time between the vision and the answer or manifestationHebrews 10:35-39Cast not away confidence, you have need of patience (perseverance) that you might receive the promise, we are not of them who draw back but believe to the saving of the soulGreat faith is the ability to maintain your initial drive years down the roadActs 1:6-8 NAS So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. The problems along the pathThe natural process of training is to avoid bad choices and actions from dealing with the consequences can also“Success is not the absence of failure; it's the persistence through failure.” - Aisha Tyler“Failure is the opportunity to begin again with more experience.” - John Maxwell“Paralyze resistance with persistence” - Woody Hayes“Ambition is the path to success.
