Bayern Munich is coming off of a somewhat of a crazy transfer window in the midst of a slew of injuries and while preparing to face-off with the always pesky Borussia Mönchengladbach. Needless to say, we have a TON to talk about. Let's take a look at what is top for this week's episode: What the Philadelphia Eagles taught us about “a win is a win” and why Bayern Munich needs to get it together. Why is Thomas Tuchel so averse to Jamal Musiala playing wing — even at a time where the club desperately needs him to? Examining the validity of my own crackpot theory about Musiala possibly refusing to play wing. Is there a primadonna blossoming under the radar? Taking a look at the other options: Thomas Muller, Mathys Tel, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Bryan Zaragoza, and Alphonso Davies. Was bringing in Zaragoza now, a panic move? The acquisition of Sacha Boey and what it could mean for the future of Noussair Mazraoui. A deep dive in how divisive Tuchel has made things in the Bayern Munich fanbase. Thought on the last episode of True Detective.

Darren Fletcher brings you the latest news from Friday night's FA Cup action - which saw Tottenham beat Burnley, Brentford and Wolves go to a replay and Fulham getting the better of Championship side Rotherham. Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson and ex Crystal Palace striker, Clinton Morrison join Darren as they also tackle the other big stories from the week. They debate if players need more protection after reports said Mikel Arteta complained to the PGMOL over concerns that Bukayo Saka is not being protected by referees, and they look ahead to Sunday's box office match as Arsenal host Liverpool. Darren poses the question as to should FA Cup replays be scrapped? And they discuss the latest January transfer news – with reports stating that Tottenham's Eric Dier could be on his way to Bayern Munich and Manchester United are closing in on Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. And if that wasn't enough – they preview that huge game between Sunderland and Newcastle that takes place on Saturday. Timecodes: 00:30 - Spurs v Burnley chat. 03:53 - Ange Postecoglou. 06:00 - Vincent Kompany. 11:30 - Players protection and Arsenal against Liverpool section. 18:30 - Should replays be scrapped? 25:00 - Transfer latest. 36:04 - Sunderland v Newcastle preview.
Bayern Munich has returned to training, but somehow the transfer action has been hotter than what has been going on during the practice sessions. Knowing that Bayern Munich is eager to spend some money and add a few players during this transfer window, the rumors are flowing. Let's take a look at what we have on tap for this week's episode: Catching-up on some an older take to see how it is going. A rundown of the rumor mill, including what we have heard about VfB Stuttgart's Alexander Nübel and Serhou Guirassy, Chelsea FC's Trevoh Chalobah, Fulham FC's João Palhinha, and AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori. The increasing likelihood that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Frans Krätzig could leave on loan assignments. Discussing the Bild report that Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Matthijs de Ligt and Alphonso Davies are being closely monitored and how that could mean bad things for their respective futures with the club. Finally, we lighten it up with some thoughts on this season of Fargo and my progress working through the Marvel movies.

Well, it is 2024 and we have the very first Bavarian Football Works podcast of the year for release! On this episode, we have a lot to talk about (despite the Winterpause), so why waste any time in droning on about it...let's just do it! Here is what we have on tap for this episode: With a growing divide in the fanbase and a war brewing between the #TuchelOut vs. #TuchelTime segments of the crowd, we have identified three things that need to happen for Bayern Munich fans to fully get back on board with things. Can they do them? Or maybe the better question is will they do them? We are also looking at the futures of Assessing the futures of Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané, Alphonso Davies, Bouna Sarr, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and Sven Ulreich — all players who have contracts expiring in 2024 or 2025. While Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer are in a bit of a different situation because they are knowingly working year-to-year, these other players all could be packing their bags this summer. Plus, Chuck managed to piss off his wife with interesting pronunciations for Pennsylvania towns. (That's a bonus!)

A Friday night tilt after an international break against a desperate opponent could have been disastrous for Bayern Munich, but like they have done so many other times this season, the Bavarians fought through some uneven play on both ends of the pitch to claim a 1-0 victory. Let's take a look at what is on tap for this episode: A gander at Thomas Tuchel's odd starting XI and what that might mean for some of the players, who were passed over in favor of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. A public service message that you do not need to watch this mess. A rundown of the scoring (LOL) as Harry Kane just keeps producing (even though he sometimes appears to be an afterthought in the attack. Steffen Baumgart will likely get sacked soon, but he has nothing to work with. That said, he had his team prepared and they fought hard. This really just a Billy Goats team that lacks talent. Some final thoughts on Bayern Munich as the team heads into the stretch run of the Hinrunde.

Bayern Munich and SC Freiburg hooked up again, this time it was in the Bundesliga, but it sure looked and felt a lot like a rehash of what happened on Tuesday. SC Freiburg was extremely disciplined and Bayern Munich was very disjointed, which led to a shaky 1-0 victory for the Bavarians — thanks to a laser of a goal from Matthijs de Ligt. Here is what we have on tap for this episode: A rundown of the scoresheet — Bayern Munich's terrible finishing prevented this game from being a blowout on the scoreboard. A look at the lineup, what changed for Thomas Tuchel, and some thoughts on why he might have made the changes (Dayot Upamecano was suspended, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was hurt, and some other benching that were probably deserved). Is Jamal Musiala getting Scottie Jetpacks'd? (Deep cut you might want to hear). De Ligt was the savior. The near brawl at the end whistle and where to go from here. Bayern Munich vs. Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League certainly lived up to its lofty billing, but the Bavarians cannot sit back and rest on their laurels. A bit banged up and maybe a little weary, Julian Nagelsmann will have some key decisions to make this weekend, but that is not nearly all there is to talk about this week. This is what we have on tap for this episode: A preview on Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach. Some thoughts on Bayern Munich's 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain — and what might happen in the next match. Julian Nagelsmann seems to be debating on what system (back three vs. back four) works better for his squad. What is Thomas Müller's role on this team? Should Bayern Munich ink Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to an extension? Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting - Camarões 3 x 3 Sérvia - 28/11/2022 by Rádio Gaúcha

Bayern Munich finished off a dominant Champions League run, Germany got some unexpected injury news, and Benjamin Pavard's tenure at Bayern Munich could be coming to an end — right as he is hitting his peak as a player. As always, there is a TON to talk about, so this is what we have on tap for this episode: Bayern Munich's incredible Champions League run. A quick look at Bayern Munich's possible Champions League draw — and a look at what kind of coverage is in store on BFW. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to....Manchester United? Benjamin Pavard is hitting his prime...and now he's like leaving Bayern Munich. Timo Werner's injury for Germany, what that means for Hansi Flick's roster, and is Toni Kroos coming back. My TV watching has suffered as the Phillies have went on this incredible run. Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany.

Bayern Munich have fully bounced back after their recent dip in form, and to the surprise of many it has been Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting recently leading the charge. This has reopened the discussion regarding Bayern's need (or lack thereof) of a new number nine, which the guys explore today. After that discussion, they look ahead to Bayern's Champions League clash against Barcelona in the Allianz Arena on Wedsesday. Join our podcast's Bundesliga fantasy league! Bayern Munich danced their way past Hoffenheim in a fantastic performance; the game was over by the end of the first half as Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski had scored by that time to give Bayern a 2-0 lead. Gnabry has been having a very productive season to date, scoring at a high rate. Lewandowski's was a screamer which came courtesy of Thomas Müller outmuscling Christopher Richards off the ball and setting up the Polish striker. In the second half, goals from substitutes Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Kingsley Coman wrapped up the performance. Choupo-Moting is a deft finisher and tends to always scores these days when he comes on a sub. Coman's goal was beautifully set up by Dayot Upamecano with a long range pass from the back. Bayern Munich scored seven goals on a gorgeous day in Munich (finally, a home game!), showcasing their talents out there and just having fun! The score at half time was 4-0 thanks to goals from Leroy Sané, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and an own goal. The score-line gave Julian Nagelsmann the chance to rest Alphonso Davies and bring on Richards for his debut. Bayern added a fifth from Robert Lewandowski, a sixth from Joshua Kimmich and a seventh from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting; Choupo's goal was his 50th goal of his Bundesliga career, a milestone. Marcel Sabitzer and Bouna Sarr also got minutes on the pitch; Sabitzer hopefully might get a start against Greuther Fürth but, perhaps, Nagelsmann didn't feel he was ready yet. Thomas Müller seemed to have scored an eighth; unfortunately, the goal wouldn't stand because of VAR. A Müller goal would have been perfect to wrap up the day but it wasn't to be today. Julian Nagelsmann will be glad preseason friendlies are over after yet another average showing by Bayern Munich . In what was good news, many starters returned and played 45 or more minutes. Robert Lewandowski captained the side for the day; other regulars included Leroy Sané, Leon Goretzka, Benjamin Pavard, Kingsley Coman among others, Coman would not last long, sustaining an injury early in the first half and being taken off for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. There were chances from Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Dayot Upamecano and Choupo-Moting in the first half but the teams went into the half 0-0. Julian Nagelsmann made nine changes to start off the second half. The changes would disrupt flow, particularly at the back, and Bayern would go on to concede three quick goals in the last 20 or so minutes to lose 0-3.

Also gönnt Euch!
The magnitude of Paris Saint-Germain's sensational come-from-behind win over Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League last Wednesday still has supporters buzzing and now, the club is one win away from their first finals appearance. On this episode of The 1970, which was recorded during last Thursday's match between RB Leipzig and Atlético Madrid, I return to host and I'm joined as always by fellow contributor https://twitter.com/marcdamon9 (Marc Damon). We open the show with Marc's thoughts on PSG's mentality and strategy against Atalanta and the improbable hero that was Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting who scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time. After watching PSG collapse under pressure and fail to grind out a victory in past seasons, we're finally seeing this squad show that they are mentally tough and now, the role players are stepping up when the superstars fail to get on the scoresheet. Looking ahead to next Tuesday's match, we discuss potential problems Leipzig could cause PSG and who Thomas Tuchel should start with Angel Di Maria coming back from suspension and Marco Verratti potentially being able to play after a muscle injury kept him out of the Atalanta match. Sadly, Atalanta's Champions League dream is over. Jules, Pete and Jim mourn the bubble that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s last-gasp winner burst, before looking ahead to tonight’s edition of the Champions League Lisbon Extravaganza. We also discuss the latest on Mesut Özil's situation at Arsenal (after his interview in The Athletic), and get some dating advice from Paul Dummett. There's even time for Eric Cantona's Champions League château and competition newbies Rennes waking up the neighbours!Email us show@footballrambledaily.com or follow us on Twitter @FootballRamble.***Please take the time to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your pods. The moment that Paris Saint-Germain supporters have been waiting for is finally here. The club is through to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 1995 following a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Atalanta. On the latest episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Eduardo Razo (https://twitter.com/_eddierazo) for a reactionary show recorded just a few hours after Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's game-winning goal in stoppage time. And before you all send me hate mail about the audio quality, I am without my fancy mic as I'm in the middle of a move and my stuff is probably somewhere in the middle of Wyoming. We start the show by talking about where we watched the match and how stressful the final minutes were. We talk about Thomas Tuchel's lineup and whether or not he got the tactics right. The story of the first 45 minutes was Neymar Jr., who was brilliant in every way possible except when it came to putting his shots on target. Neymar's misses were highlighted on social media (https://twitter.com/brfootball/status/1293636136821301248?s=20) as PSG's detractors lined up and salivated at the prospect of the most hated footballer on the planet bowing out of the Champions League to a modest club like Atalanta. We discuss the media's coverage of PSG and whether or not they will ever embrace this team. Once PSG went down a goal in the first half, some doubt started to creep in but once Kylian Mbappé entered the game in the 60th minute, things took a drastic change. We discuss his influence on the game despite playing with an injured ankle and the goal from Marquinhos that leveled the score at 1-1 at the 90-minute mark. We wrap up the show by sharing our reaction to Choupo-Moting's incredible goal in stoppage time and the fact that he will now go down in PSG history for this goal and not that famous miss he had last season (https://youtu.be/qc1rXDbWQ9s). We also pick our preferred opponent in the next round. Will it be RB Leipzig or Atlético Madrid. We'll find out on Thursday. As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. Want more PSG? The Matchday Live team reflect on a dramatic first Champions League quarter-final in Portugal between Paris Saint-Germain and Atalanta, while we hear from hero Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as well as Marten de Roon and Mario Pašalić.
Paris Saint-Germain recently returned to the pitch after a four-month layoff due to the coronavirus so naturally, the PSG Talking podcast crew is back to recap the first two friendly matches and discuss the latest news involving the club. Joining me on this episode, which was recorded on Friday, July 17, are fellow contributors Tyrone (https://twitter.com/typoundsign). We start the show by discussing the 7-0 win over Waasland-Beveren, which surprisingly included two incredible goals from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Other than the scoreline, we share the other positives supporters should take away from the game. Then, we talk about last week's match against Le Havre on the road. The 9-0 win (https://psgtalk.com/2020/07/three-takeaways-from-psgs-9-0-friendly-win-against-le-havre/) over the Ligue 2 side will do little to give the naysayers a reason to believe PSG can defeat Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League but similar to the match against Waasland-Beveren, the effort level was impressive the squad appears to be linking up well and creating plenty of goal-scoring opportunities. Leaving the pitch for a moment, we break down the back-and-forth war of words between Leonardo (https://psgtalk.com/2020/07/the-club-never-disrespected-him-leonardo-reacts-to-the-comments-made-by-dortmunds-meunier/), who was accused by the Belgian of giving false information to the media. Our final topics include a discussion about Manchester City and why their Champions League ban was reversed (https://www.espn.com/soccer/manchester-city/story/4112451/manchester-city-escape-champions-league-ban-after-cas-appeal). What does it mean for PSG in the seasons to come? We also check in on Atalanta and briefly break down their recent results. The show wraps up with us answering a few questions sent in via Twitter. As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. Want more PSG? Welcome to another brand new edition of On The Continent! It's bloody lovely to have you with us. We kick off proceedings with a look at PSG, who, thanks to a combination of a lack of focus and the efforts of Eric Maxim Choupo Moting, failed to clinch the Ligue Un title against Strasbourg. All that and more on your hot-off-the-press, all-new, bells-and-whistles-adorned episode! Don't sleep on it!***Please take the time to rate and review us on iTunes or wherever you get your pods. Karma is a bitch. Also, falls Ihr kommentieren möchtet: Hier entlang.
