For years, I thought nutrition had to be all or nothing… you either perfectly tracked your food, followed a strict diet, or you were "failing." I spent so much time overthinking every meal, trying to find the “perfect” way to eat, only to end up feeling stressed, guilty, and frustrated.I thought true health meant rigid rules, obsessive tracking, and pushing myself to stick to the latest diet trend. But the truth? Nutrition should be about fueling your body, building strength, and creating habits that support your life, not controlling every bite.In today's episode, I'm answering your top nutrition questions: from intermittent fasting, to how to actually hit your protein goals, to healing your relationship with food in a way that feels empowering, not exhausting. If you've ever struggled with overcomplicating nutrition, feeling lost with protein targets, or rebuilding trust with your body, this episode is for you!I Also Discuss:(00:00) Nutrition Myths You Still Believe (and What Actually Works)(07:41) How Much Protein You REALLY Need (Without Going Crazy)(16:17) Healing Your Relationship With Food (Without Strict Diets)(18:07) Navigating Sobriety When Your Partner Still Drinks(24:47) Why Broads Is Different: Strength Over ScalThank You to Our Sponsors:Broads App – Get structured, progressive training and a powerhouse community to keep you strong, consistent, and unstoppable. I mean, what if you don't know how to stop eating?  Gosh, have I been there! What you are experiencing, I have also experienced. This comes from ED & the only way around it is to shift your perspective & begin to accept that maybe your body just isn't supposed to be controlled, forced or manipulated into a size. When you live life from a place of restriction...you believe you aren't allowed to have something, you shame yourself & you go against what it is you actually want....CONTROL, PEACE & FREEDOM. Body Acceptance is Key! But increasing your food gradually is also very helpful! ~ You can learn to embrace nourishment & to honor your body in all that it DOES for you! If you are looking for practical tips to help you with reframing your thoughts around food intake, then today's show is perfect for you. I hope this episode gives you more permission to do the next right thing! I believe in you :) ~ Listen in to this one & don't forget to come share your thoughts & feedback with us in our private facebook community! & if you have a question you'd like to have answered on the pod, you can shoot me an email directly at info@lindseynichol.com. xo, lindsey Find All the Things -> wwww.herbestself.co ______ Coach with Me ->Client Application ______ Email me directly -> info@lindseynichol.com ______ Join the free FB community -> www.herbestselfsociety.com ______ Need a helping hand guiding you girl!? The conversation also highlights the confusion surrounding portion sizes and the limitations of nutrition labels. It concludes by emphasizing the need for individualized portion sizes based on factors such as weight, medical conditions, and dietary restrictions.TakeawaysPortion sizes play a crucial role in preventing kidney stones. The concept of portion not perfection encourages individuals to focus on portion control rather than striving for a perfect diet.Portion sizes should be individualized based on factors such as weight, medical conditions, and dietary restrictions.Nutrition labels may not always provide accurate guidance on portion sizes. It is important to enjoy food in moderation and not deprive oneself of favorite foods.A balanced plate should include a variety of fruits, vegetables, protein, and carbohydrates.Sound Bites"One big mistake people make when preventing kidney stones is the portion size of their food.""How much should I have? Well, I'm 5 '2 and 115 pounds. Jeff is 6 '4 and 190. We're going to have very different portion sizes to maintain our weight.""Portion not perfection means a few things.
