For years, I thought nutrition had to be all or nothing… you either perfectly tracked your food, followed a strict diet, or you were "failing." I spent so much time overthinking every meal, trying to find the “perfect” way to eat, only to end up feeling stressed, guilty, and frustrated.I thought true health meant rigid rules, obsessive tracking, and pushing myself to stick to the latest diet trend. But the truth? Nutrition should be about fueling your body, building strength, and creating habits that support your life, not controlling every bite.In today's episode, I'm answering your top nutrition questions: from intermittent fasting, to how to actually hit your protein goals, to healing your relationship with food in a way that feels empowering, not exhausting. If you've ever struggled with overcomplicating nutrition, feeling lost with protein targets, or rebuilding trust with your body, this episode is for you!I Also Discuss:(00:00) Nutrition Myths You Still Believe (and What Actually Works)(07:41) How Much Protein You REALLY Need (Without Going Crazy)(16:17) Healing Your Relationship With Food (Without Strict Diets)(18:07) Navigating Sobriety When Your Partner Still Drinks(24:47) Why Broads Is Different: Strength Over ScalThank You to Our Sponsors:Broads App – Get structured, progressive training and a powerhouse community to keep you strong, consistent, and unstoppable. Chipotle's ($CMG) stock is up 70% in two years, making it the third-largest U.S. restaurant chain by market value, nearing $80 billion. In 2024, revenue rose 14.6% to $11.3 billion, with slightly improved operating margins. However, investors expected a stronger 2025 outlook than the company's projected low-to-mid single-digit growth in same-store sales. Fiona has a great question: “How can I feel delighted with small portion sizes, rather than feeling robbed, disheartened, and treated badly.” Q&A episodes are some of my favorites, because there's a lot to be learned from a question - and there's a lot to unpack in this one. In this episode I'm answering Fiona's question and also tackling some important aspects of making changes to the way that you eat - whether you are adjusting your portions or trying something else. In this episode:Is choosing “small portions” helpful at all?Why any change you make to your eating is going to require an adjustment period. What to pay attention to before you even begin to change portions. How to create more delight - whatever change you're making to your eating.Find links to everything we mention in this episode as well as complete show notes & transcript at https://toomuchonherplate.com/qa-can-you-be-delighted-by-small-portion-sizes-tmohp-episode-124/ Join the 5-Day Freedom from Overeating Workshop for Smart, Busy Women: https://bit.ly/tmohpregister Find out what's triggering emotional eating: https://bit.ly/takethefreequizGet updates about upcoming events, free resources, & new episodes: https://bit.ly/tmohpupdatesRate and review the podcast: https://apple.co/3i2L8CH

This week is about how ridiculous food portion sizes are and how our satisfaction and hunger levels guide us more than what the packets say a portion is.Of course, I'll talk about intuitive eating, which helps us listen to our bodies and guides us to the suitable portion sizes and nutrients we need. You may be surprised that focusing on how we feel after eating is better than counting every bite!
