I (Allison Hare) was recently featured on the top-ranked podcast, She Sells Radio with Elyse Archer. We had a really interesting in-depth conversation about how to reinvent yourself after 40. One thing that has been circulating around my circles is that it can feel really overwhelming when you have built a big life and are realizing what you want - might have evolved into something different - and not sure how to make that pivot. Elyse Archer is a brilliant money and mindset coach and I've been an early client of hers. In fact, she's been featured on this podcast in episode 97 which I will link in the show notes. I thought she asked such insightful questions that I wanted to share our conversation and her work with you here.Allison looks back on feeling the pull to work with Elyse and how it changed her life. It's incredible to see someone put aside the reasons not to and start reinventing themselves.Allison shares what she learned as a child that impacted her career in later years. She explains her background and how she found herself in corporate sales. She suppressed her creative side to choose what she thought would bring her financial stability. It got to a point where she could feel that things were out of alignment. She had to get to the bottom of burnout.Giving a platform to the thing that lights you up the most opens up everything. For many people, it is somewhere around mid-life where they feel the pull to make a big shift.Where do we even start? It can be scary to make big changes, especially “later” in life. There is grief that comes with outgrowing the familiar.Grieving needs to be normalized. Pain is the price of evolution. There is a misconception and belief that many people have that they are not good enough.Allison describes the framework called Boom, Room, and Bloom.Give yourself some room to experiment but think of it like a playground.Limiting beliefs will hold so many back. Allison explains how she reconciled this within herself.Success is a patchwork of creativity and accomplishment that are all in alignment. We don't have to wait for the event that knocks us down so hard and so far to make a change.Life is the sum of your relationships, not your achievemehttps://podcast.allisonhare.com/post/EP97:Girl-You-Need-To-Make-More-Money!w-Elyse-Archernts. You have evolved since you heard this episode, so let's revisit Abundance Selling vs. Scarcity Selling with Ian Koniak. This special episode is a live training with Ian Koniak, a three time She Sells Radio Podcast guest. As the #1 rep for Salesforce, the #1 CRM in the entire world, for 19 years, it's obvious Ian knows what he's doing. He and I have worked together on his personal brand and I got to know him as a person. I have been absolutely blown away by who he has become through this journey and am constantly amazed by how he continues to grow. If you wanna know the sales mindset and strategies that multi figure sales reps use that have a lot of client opportunities and conversions that don't have to hustle, this training is for you. Show Notes: [7:16] - What is speaking to you about abundance selling vs. scarcity selling? [8:59] - Wanting something really badly sometimes makes it seem unattainable. [11:25] - Ask yourself what is sustainable. Can you work the way you're working right now for the next 20 years? [12:31] - Learn the definitions of abundance selling and scarcity selling. [14:45] - When we place our self-worth on our sales, this is scarcity selling. [16:26] - When you're seeking external validation, it is always going to fall short. [19:52] - Your agenda should be seeing if you can help somebody. [21:02] - Listen with the intention of understanding rather than listening with the intention of replying. [23:53] - Realize that you don't need this customer to buy to survive. [26:36] - Say no to the things that distract you from being laser focused on your goals. [28:14] - If you are thinking about how much you need the sale, you are not thinking about serving the client. [30:09] - Your energy determines the outcome. [32:08] - Learn from the people who have the results you want but pay attention to their energy. [36:58] - The way we feel determines our actions and our actions determine our outcomes. [39:28] - The real gift and the real prize is becoming the best person you can be. [40:51] - Just because you think a thought, does not make it true. [42:52] - Success is knowing that you are doing the absolute best you can to become a better person. [46:40] - For Ian, he needed to lean into his fears. [48:23] - How can you show up where you leave nothing on the table? [49:46] - When you've done all you possibly can, there's no such thing as failing. [51:53] - How can you turn it around when it seems like all the doors are closing? [54:18] - If you could have it any way, what would the outcome be? How can you make yourself a match for that? [56:25] - How do you keep a positive mindset on your journey to true abundance selling? [58:50] - Staying on the brighter side can sometimes be hard, but we have to count our blessings. Welcome to a transformative episode of She Sells Radio! In this special recording of a live session, we dive into the powerful shift from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset. This spontaneous, heart-led dialogue, originally shared on Facebook Live, was inspired by my own journey and the incredible changes I've witnessed in our community. For years, I struggled with a scarcity mindset, feeling like I never had enough. Can you relate? This mindset is common in the sales industry, where traditional teachings often emphasize scarcity, leading to anxiety and fear. But I've seen a magical transformation in the She Sells community as people embrace abundance—not just in their finances, but in their overall outlook on life. An abundance mindset isn't about how much money you make; it's about changing your internal view of the world. When you start seeing yourself as abundant and do the self-concept work, your sales, income, and peace of mind will shift dramatically. In this episode, we explore how shifting to an abundance mindset can change your life and approach to goals. We'll discuss the importance of choosing mentors who embody abundance and the need to ask different, more empowering questions. Let's break free from old paradigms and embrace a new way of thinking. Show Notes: [2:20] - Scarcity mindset has nothing to do with how much money is in the bank. [3:39] - When you start to do the self-concept work and see yourself as an abundant person, your sales and income will shift. [4:53] - There are a lot of people with large platforms that are teaching a scarcity mindset in sales. [6:11] - As a global community, we are all being invited to a shift in consciousness. We need to drop the old paradigm. [9:01] - Check in with yourself. Do you feel attached when in a sales call? Do you feel anxiety or fear? [12:01] - When hiring a mentor or coach, hire them because you want to learn how they think. [13:20] - There is so much content out there that pushes to “crush the competition” and that is an example of a scarcity mindset that is not helpful in reaching your goals. [16:16] - When you are ready to uplevel and expand, you will feel it. [17:52] - Study the people who have the results you want. [19:28] - You have to start asking different questions. [21:08] - Give what you want to receive. In this special recording of a live session, we dive into the powerful shift from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset and how this can drastically impact sales. This spontaneous, heart-led dialogue, originally shared as a live conversation on social media, was inspired by my own journey and the incredible changes I've witnessed in our community. For years, I struggled with a scarcity mindset, feeling like I never had enough. Can you relate? This mindset is common in the sales industry, where traditional teachings often emphasize scarcity, leading to anxiety and fear. Have you ever thought about how you can avoid going into scarcity mode in sales when it's the only thing you've been taught? The sales cycle is long, so how can you stay motivated when things seem to take forever? These powerful questions, and more, are asked by viewers of the live stream about mindset in sales. Show Notes: [3:27] - Scarcity mindset has nothing to do with how much money you have or earn. [4:18] - When you start to do the self-concept work and see yourself as abundant, your sales will become more abundant. [5:23] - So much of what we are taught in sales is very much in a scarcity mindset. [7:20] - We are all invited to drop the old paradigms and step into a different way of being. [9:05] - Go where you are wanted. [11:03] - There is a huge difference between scarcity and abundant selling. [12:23] - When you are hiring a mentor or a coach, you want to know how they think. [14:35] - Any time you feel the need to crush the competition, you are working in a scarcity mindset. [18:01] - If you are feeling the call for expansion, don't ask for a “bigger egg.” [19:08] - Study the people who have the results you want. [20:24] - If you desire more abundance in your life, you have to start asking different questions. [21:23] - Give what you want to receive. [22:42] - When you're stuck in a scarcity mindset, you will constantly be anxious and worried about how you can make more money. [25:43] - Live streams will continue weekly on Tuesday mornings. Welcome back to She Sells Radio for another solo episode. After so many amazing interview episodes with the best of the best, I really want to dive into themes close to my heart. Today, I'm particularly eager to chat about a powerful concept that recently took shape in a book titled Permission to be Powerful, co-authored by yours truly and members of the mastermind. This book, hot off the presses since January 17th, invites you to think about a profound question: What would it look like for you to give yourself permission to be in your full power in all aspects of your life? Power is a loaded term to a lot of people. And it can make us feel really uncomfortable. But it's not about defiance. It's a conscious choice to be at the center of your life, steering your destiny with intention. I share my personal journey in this episode, and share the internal struggles to remain a lone wolf, as well as the reflection that led to embracing a path of increased leadership in my business. We explore the notion of surface-level safety in hiding and the transformative power of getting massively uncomfortable. Join me in this exploration of self-permission, questioning societal programming, and the beautiful journey of learning to trust yourself. The book, Permission to be Powerful, features diverse perspectives on this topic, and I am so excited to share it with you. Show Notes: [2:44] - Elyse co-authored a book called Permission to be Powerful with members of her mastermind. [4:40] - Power is a loaded word to a lot of people. It means that you know you are in control of your destiny and your fate. You are at the center of your life. [6:50] - Personal power is not about defiance. It's about you consciously choosing and operating out of the sense of controlling your destiny. [8:34] - We have to surrender to how big things can be for us. [10:12] - Elyse has taken on a lot more leadership and experienced a lot of internal struggle. [12:14] - The wounded part of her felt safer as a lone wolf. [14:03] - It took a lot of reflection to figure out which path to take. It's understandable why people hide. [16:08] - There's surface level safety in hiding. [17:30] - What's the endgame for you? If you've followed me for any amount of time you know my own personal sales and business transformation and going from stuck at the same level for over a decade to 10X'ing my income within 6 weeks did not come from working harder. It came from diving deep into my subconscious programs that were hindering me and keeping me stuck, and developing a new belief system that empowered me to quantum leap. As I now teach and believe - your results will never supersede your identity. So today we get to go deep with an expert in reprogramming the subconscious mind and removing limiting beliefs that may have persisted for most of our lives. My guest today is Joel Bein, the founder of Human Liberation, where he shares a revolutionary approach to removing negative beliefs from the subconscious mind, freeing people from their unwanted thoughts and emotions. Joel Bein helps people become whole, curious, creative, and empowered to live a life that makes them come alive. He has created hundreds of articles and podcasts to support an empowered, 21st-century creative mindset, and has shared the microphone and collaborated with thought leaders and entrepreneurs such as Ryan Nicodemus, Madeline Mann, John Barrows, and Scott Leese. As a passionate seeker of personal growth and mental well-being, he is Founder of Human Liberation, which shares a revolutionary approach to remove negative beliefs from the subconscious mind, freeing people from their unwanted thoughts and emotions. Show Notes: [3:17] - Joel's personal development story started early, at only age 18. He was drawn to learning more about creating a healthy world. [5:19] - As children, we create stories to make sense of these. But they become baggage and get in the way as we become adults. [7:23] - Amazing things are unlocked when we learn how to be our authentic selves again. [9:02] - You have needs that money simply cannot meet. [11:00] - We tend to hold back and sit on our needs. [12:09] - What is the belief that is holding you back? [15:19] - Affirmations are valuable, but it is the hardest thing for people to find value in. [17:02] - Until we deal with the part of us that truly believes something limiting, affirmations will not be as impactful. [19:33] - Money is a common taboo topic and an area of contention for a lot of people who don't feel worthy of having it. [21:33] - Joel explains how to do a gut check on a limiting belief. [25:34] - Integrate the body and the mind. Your body will feel the limiting belief. [29:27] - The hustle mindset is something that needs to be dismantled. Joel is a fan of something called High Performing Loafing. [31:10] - Rest and relaxation is key to your brain's performance. [32:49] - It is hard to let go of the instilled belief that we are not doing enough. [34:21] - Self care can be interpreted in a lot of different ways. For some people, this can swing the pendulum in the other direction. [36:45] - The methods Joel teaches eliminates the limiting beliefs. [40:18] - The emotional impact of this work can be very fast if you are open to it. [41:09] - Joel has put together a guide for listeners of She Sells Radio. In this unique episode, you get a behind the scenes peek at a mastermind conversation with our 50k Club. Every month, I bring on a high level guest mentor and a recent mentor was the incredible Dr. Hillari Hamilton, researcher for Dr. Joe Dispenza. She has been a podcast guest before and it is by far one of the most downloaded and listened to episodes on She Sells Radio ever. The messages and content she brought to the 50k Club was so impactful and so powerful that we're sharing a portion of it here on the podcast. Believe me, you'll want to take notes! Dr. Hillari Hamilton has spent most of her career developing programs to best serve individuals in transforming their health from a state of disease to one of ease by uncovering the root cause of imbalance, mentally, physically, and chemically. She assisted in the co-creation of trans-disciplinary clinics to treat chronic pain in the Empire Valley in California in 2015, where she uncovered the foundational piece to healing, which begins with becoming familiar with the impact our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors have on mental and physical pain. She educates her patients on how the mind-body connections work and how to observe and implement change, which empowers her to take an active role in healing their body from the inside out. Dr. Hamilton has been working with Dr. Joe Dispenza for the past three years on his life-changing approach to health, to quantify his work through research in cooperation with UCSD and VitaMed Research. Dr. Hamilton is a chiropractor, certified hypnotherapist, research coordinator, wellness coach, and meditation facilitator. She is currently pursuing her passion traveling with Dr. Dispenza, assisting in human transformation with the intention of demonstrating through science the effects meditation has on the regulation, prevention, and treatment of disease. Show Notes: [5:08] - Welcome to the mastermind, Dr. Hamilton! Elyse shares her background and current role as researcher for Dr. Joe Dispenza. [8:38] - When you change your brain, you get new results. If you can notice and become familiar with how you feel, it can change your state of being. [11:30] - We are all connected to the people in our lives. We can influence our children based on the emotions we live by. [12:29] - Thoughts are the language of the brain but feelings are the language of the body. [14:04] - Where you put your attention is where you put your energy. [15:02] - When in your life were you successful? What were the thoughts, actions, and feelings that allowed you to become successful? [17:09] - A mastermind member shares her experience with success and what happens when her thoughts and feelings hold her back. [20:42] - Our thoughts have everything to do with our destiny. We have to be able to tune into how we're thinking. [23:30] - Elyse shares how some of Dr. Joe's work has improved her health. [25:38] - We need to get out of narrow focus and into an open focus. [29:13] - You have to know what you want with a clear intention. [30:45] - Women tend to live with self inflicted guilt. A Salesforce Top Influencer and a thought leader whose insights have been featured in major media, including Forbes and Inc, Elyse is passionate about empowering her clients to sell in a way that leverages their natural gifts and helps them build wealth. She is an international keynote speaker and host of She Sells Radio, where she shares best practices from female entrepreneurs and sales professionals who have accomplished extraordinary goals. Before founding She Sells, Elyse served as a Partner in an 8-figure international sales coaching organization, where she helped sales professionals achieve their goals. Learn more about Elyse at www.ElyseArcher.com If you are a ‘giver', have struggled with icky beliefs about money and prosperity, or feel uncomfortable with a masculine version of sales, this episode is for YOU. Listen closely to this deep conversation with Elyse Archer, a dear friend and badass woman leader, who shares how to change your prosperity thermostat and create sales using feminine energy and the power of your divine purpose. She shares these feminine principles of receiving with us in this episode. The Power Is In Deciding Elyse decided to change her money mindset; this commitment and a full-out decision changed everything. You can't be wishy-washy about your decisions; you need to go all in and decide that ‘fine' and ‘ok' are not good enough in this one lifetime. Your Desires Are Green Lights Elyse's essential lesson was learning to trust herself and her intuition. This has also been one of my greatest lessons. To truly flourish and thrive, you must start developing a relationship with yourself that is based on love, kindness, and trust. Learning How To Sell With Wholeness Elyse shares her story of being trained in sales from a highly masculine perspective, leading to extreme exhaustion, burnout, overwhelm, emptiness, and despair. Maybe you, too, can relate to your training or job expectations. She realized that her soul sought wholeness and a new spiritual center point where she could be of service and raise her impact and prosperity level. Elyse went from a $100,000 year to making $100,000 each month and realized that serving and selling from the heart and learning how to receive was life-changing and prosperous. While she had a lovely house and fancy things, she didn't feel lit up or whole inside. It wasn't until she invested in herself and got a coach and support to help her create a new paradigm for her identity and life. Additionally, Elyse learned firsthand that what was missing was learning to sell from wholeness. From a new feminine approach where the focus was on being comfortable with receiving and greater visibility. The reminder is to understand that all is based on energy and how you feel about yourself. If you're coming from an aligned place of wholeness, connection, and trust, you will begin to feel that, and the world around you can't help but emulate this transformation. Learning to Receive Your level of income will never go beyond your level of self-worth. Read that again and take it in. This is everything! Most of us miss genuinely learning how to receive and feeling worthy of receiving, be it a compliment, money, greater visibility, acknowledgment, or an opportunity. The key point is learning how to generate abundance from the inside first. Any time we have a conversation on the She Sells Radio podcast about PR, I get so many questions from the audience and feedback that this is something you want to know more about, so today I am SO excited to bring you a real expert on this topic, Alessandra Pollina. Alessandra Pollina is the founder and owner of Quotable Media Co., a PR agency and media company that celebrated 10 years in business in 2022. She attended Boston University's College of Communication where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a focus on public relations, and a minor in anthropology. Throughout her college years she held many internships in the PR field at some of the best agencies in Boston. This vast array of experiences became the foundation of her PR career and positioned her to launch her own company, a full-service boutique PR and marketing agency, in 2012 at just 23 years old. She is also the founder of the Female Founders of Boston networking group which aims to bring like-minded entrepreneurs and business owners together, as well as Quotable: A Female Millennial Entrepreneur Podcast, inspired by the group but with an international reach, and Quotable Magazine, a print and online platform for expanding the visibility of female entrepreneurs. The podcast and magazine make up the media arm of her company, which also works to further boost female entrepreneurs through an annual launch grant and online PR education programs. Show Notes: [3:20] - When you really stand behind the amazing work you do, it comes through in your outreach and media attention. [5:42] - Look at your social media presence and see which pieces are coming through. Is your personal brand showing up? [7:36] - The most important thing is to keep in mind why you started your business and why you care about what you do to begin with. [9:18] - If you don't put yourself out there, what opportunities are other people going to miss out on if they don't find you. [11:18] - Alessandra shares her experience in starting her business at 23. [15:31] - Limiting beliefs are very common in the beginning for a lot of women and are hard to overcome. Alessandra didn't struggle as much because she was confident in her skills. [18:56] - Your income will never exceed your level of self worth. [20:10] - When starting her business, she didn't know anyone else who was doing the same thing and struggled connecting with other entrepreneurs. [22:31] - Alessandra admits that she didn't necessarily want to be the one to organize the things she couldn't find, but she wanted and needed for them to exist. [24:05] - There should be more platforms for women to tell their stories. [26:18] - The media and the way we communicate is changing. What are some of the commonalities of Alessandra's clients that are making the most impact? [27:56] - Look at things through different lenses as the media changes. [29:54] - Where are all the places your audience may be? [30:40] - Starting small is a good idea. [33:20] - Hearing a “no” is not forever. It doesn't mean you can never pitch something again in the future. [34:15] - Alessandra describes the magazine that she runs and shares the opportunities to submit articles or apply to be interviewed. [37:14] - Alessandra also offers an online course and a PR bootcamp. [6:01] - There is a huge difference between rest and recovery. [9:23] - As long as you have yourself in alignment, everything falls in place. [10:12] - Routine keeps us safe. [12:12] - The common misconception that Cynthia worked in her past was the harder you work, the more money you earn. But, there's more to it. [15:37] - Cynthia has made her health a priority after recent experiences. [17:45] - Cynthia is paving the way for other women to be the first. [19:35] - Fear is real and Cynthia continues to keep moving through it. [22:00] - Cynthia uses fear to fuel her to keep going and keep thriving. [26:14] - Cynthia shares an exercise she does in keeping a journal of things she wants. [27:03] - Your level of income will never exceed your level of self worth. [29:11] - Your inner critic is there for a reason. But ask yourself, “Why not me?” [32:00] - Imagine yourself getting to the end of your life and realizing you regret the things you didn't do. I love expanding my mindset by people doing things at a really high level and bringing guests on She Sells Radio will do the same for you. Not at all about comparison, but I thought I was doing pretty well by hitting 7 figures in 12 months with She Sells, but that is peanuts compared to the amazing things today's guest has done. He is actually hosting a retreat coming up in Morocco and you will want to be sure to check out his links below for more information on that. Many people have questions about how to sell but don't realize the best salespeople are selling from a place of integrity and alignment with their values. The Reputation Formula - When asking yourself how to sell, think about creating a personal brand and building your reputation first. The Brand Builders Group is a personal brand strategy group that created this formula. Elyse is one of the founding members of the organization. Elyse stated that your personal brand is synonymous with your reputation. The reputation formula is your results multiplied by your reach equals your reputation. What matters more, incredible results or a large following? If you are creating great results but no one knows about you, you don't really have a reputation. The flipside of that is that if you aren't making a positive impact on others or are producing negative results, but have a huge following, you may not have a positive reputation. It is important to grow your reach to share your results and be seen as someone who produces results. This will build your reputation. Your results and reach both matter for building your reputation. You can be Instagram rich and dollar poor. Only two percent of your social media followers will see your content, you must have an email list. How to sell effectively starts with alignment with your values. Selling for women starts with relationship building, loving people, taking care of people. Sales are often thought of as fitting inside of a box that doesn't work for women. The masculine energy of doing, following a process, a + b = c. Feminine energy, on the contrary, is very non-linear. Instead of thinking about selling, think about how you can build a personal brand, draw people in, and magnetize people to you to build deeper relationships. Follow your intuition and reach out to people even if they aren't on your prospect list for the day. As women, we have natural traits that are great for sales. Sales do not have to be done in a masculine way. It is important to know that if something feels off, you don't have to do it that way. Following your inner guidance is how you'll get the best results. The keys to sales are compassion, empathy, setting emotional boundaries, and self-worth. One thing that Elyse recommends is not becoming best friends with someone on a prospect call. As women, that is easy to do. If you sell through conversations, it's important to remember that it is a disservice to get overly friendly with the prospect. We have to learn to toe the line of having compassion and having a fierce intention to help others move forward in favor of their highest good because that is the best thing we can do for them. It's important to take our needs to be liked and approved out of the equation. Elyse does a lot of inner child work with herself and her clients. Compassion and empathy are key in sales, we just have to know how to leverage them. If we don't sell, we are doing a disservice to those who do need our services or the solutions we provide. Your calling is someone else's signal. When you feel that call to put something into the world, it is coming from someone who needs you to solve a problem for them. They need your specific viewpoint on how to solve their problem. We have to remind ourselves to think about the prospective client, not ourselves. When considering how to sell, remember this surprising factor that skyrockets women's income - self-worth. Your income will never exceed your level of self-worth. If you don't think you are worthy of making money because you haven't seen anyone in your family do it, you will hold yourself back. It is important to do the deep inner work around your worthiness to make money. It can be challenging, especially if you've had a lot of conditioning about not being worthy. Your level of worthiness is often what is capping your income level. What would people think of you if you were number one? We are often conditioned not to be too shiny, or too much because then we are a target. Exercises to tap into your self-worth and money. Practice filtering decisions through the lens of someone who has that thing, amount of money, that you make. What would the 7-figure version of you do? Re-condition the neuro pathways in your brain. Practice thoughts of worthiness and goals. And is the goal worthy of you? It is a thought paradigm that has to shift. "You trade your life for your goals." - Bob Proctor Think of it as needing to set higher goals because you want to matter and make a difference, a big impact on the world. If you are doing all of the work, tasks, in your business, you are worthy of accomplishments and money. When thinking about how to sell or build a business, trust yourself! As women, we learn not to trust our bodies and our hearts and tend to go into our heads. Our truth and our best and discovering our highest good is going to come by listening to what our heart is calling us to do. It may never be logical and you may not have the money ahead of time, but your truth is there. Practice listening to yourself with the small things and then the big things. Everything you want comes when you live this way, trusting yourself and being in alignment with your values. Peace will also come when you live this way. Check out Lewis Howes. One of the biggest challenges…is a lack of confidence in yourself. Other people's view of you will just be a mirror of your view of yourself. For so many years, I would look for validation from the outside….my sale's manager…men…you name it. I looked to clients to validate what I had was good. I woke up one day and realized that no one's going to validate me until I validate myself….What am I waiting for? I'm giving my power away to other people….That was a big mindset shift for me. Things that may seem small and unrelated, like complimenting yourself. How often do we look in the mirror and focus on the one thing we don't like? I would get off a call…and if they didn't buy, I would beat myself up over it. And I didn't realize how much I was degrading my confidence and my self worth. Complimenting yourself. Speaking to yourself as someone who has the sales that you desire, who has the type of clients you desire, who brings in the amount of money you desire…because what you describe you prescribe. When you say anything that follows the words ‘I am…' it is a direct command to your subconscious mind to make that more of your reality. So, whatever you want to be a reality about yourself, then say it. Say it out loud and say it to yourself. She Sells has kind of taken on a life of its own and now I get to teach things I never thought I would teach. What I found was, so much of what's taught is ‘use this script', ‘use this process', ‘say these words', ‘do this thing' and you must get this result. When I tried that…I would get incremental gains…but I still felt stuck. So many make it look like they have it all together on the outside, but on the inside, they are struggling… I didn't realize how important the inner game was to the sales game until I started doing a lot of my own inner work. I have a client in financial services….you would look at this woman and think she is the most confident person in the world…she's also a spin instructor…in her class, there is a leader board in the front of the room…if she notices that she is rising to the top and she finds herself in that #2 spot, her automatic reflex is to slow down. Because what would it mean if she was #1? ….this stuff goes deep….she realized that same phenomenon that's happening in
Oftentimes we don't allow ourselves the things we truly want. And even more often are the times we don't even know we're doing that to ourselves. In today's solo episode, we're talking about how the good in your life will come when you allow it. This is an important concept because it really goes against the things we've been taught. We are told that it is selfish to want certain things or experiences or because of our learned relationships with money, those nice things aren't for you. But take a moment to think about your self-worth. Sometimes it is not the need for a new script or sales funnel. Upleveling your self-worth and the amount you're willing to allow will cause a ripple effect of amazing opportunities to flow into your life. So listen on to this episode of She Sells Radio for my three steps to notice your resistance and take the right actions to feel good. How good are you willing to let life get? Show Notes: [1:47] - A client texted a photo to Elyse that inspired the topic of this episode. [2:52] - Your income will never exceed your level of self-worth. [4:29] - The magic happens when you uplevel the amount you're willing to allow. [5:58] - Referring to a recent episode, Elyse realized that her heaviness was a mirror of something she needed to work on. She didn't realize what she wasn't allowing. [7:32] - You know you're in a higher vibrational place, the things you want will come in really fast. [8:12] - Challenges are always preparing you for your next uplevel. [8:56] - The first step is simply to notice. We live most of our lives in unawareness. [9:44] - Elyse explains why you should notice your money rules. [12:28] - Your desire for nicer things or experiences is not selfish. [14:08] - Notice where in your life you are not allowing the things you want. [15:34] - It is so difficult to decide what is most important for your time. [17:02] - Elyse shares why she scaled back on work to spend time with her son because that is where she was experiencing the most resistance. [18:27] - Generate clients when you are being yourself. This could be a challenging reframe for you, like it was for Elyse. [19:53] - Because she wasn't allowing in the possibility of working less, she hadn't realized the impact it would have on her business. [22:23] - The next step is to create belief systems that support you. DM Elyse for a link on how to rewire your belief systems. [24:21] - Money always shows up to support your expansion. [25:16] - With money, use the word “invest” and not “spend.” [27:07] - To overcome her blocks and rules with money, Elyse had to anchor herself in the idea that she deserved to spend the money on the things she wanted. [28:10] - People who have the things they want, allow themselves to have them. [30:01] - Looking back on an experience with a photographer, Elyse shares the lesson she learned in how unwilling she was to have the thing she wanted. [31:16] - The third step is to relax and focus on feeling good. [32:44] - Your emotions are telling you what vibrations/frequencies you match with. [33:56] - Look outside less and look inside more. [34:51] - Negative emotions create friction and resistance. [36:32] - When you feel good, you will match with what you want. [38:04] - When Elyse started shifting her emotions, huge life and financial uplevels were allowed. [39:20] - Once you allow it in, the opportunities will come in fast. Today's episode is all about an important topic that we haven't talked about enough yet on She Sells Radio. That is female leadership. The fact of the matter is that no matter who you are, leadership can be challenging. And it can take many different forms. Maybe you are being called to a leadership role. Maybe you've recently been promoted to leadership and just aren't feeling confident. Or maybe you own your own business and although it might be a small team, you are still not sure how to lead yourself and others. And let's not forget that leading a household is also a true leadership role. When I thought about this topic, I knew I needed Kim Skouras on the show. Kim Skouras is the Chief Operations Officer at The Impact Partnership located in Kennesaw, GA. Over the last 25 years, Kim has spent her career focusing on leading people and the building process. She spent 15 years working in the banking industry and in 2011, joined the Impact Partnership to build out the operations of what is today, a top financial marketing organization. Impact helps independent financial advisors become household names in their communities through strategic marketing and innovative products. Kim truly believes that the success of every organization includes a positive and talented team directed by sound process. She serves as a business coach to top financial advisors across the country. She builds plans and works alongside them to successfully scale their business and take their team, process and most importantly, profitability, to the next level. In what has turned out to be one of my all-time favorite interviews, Kim shares her journey and all the ups and downs she has faced. She opens up honestly and with such appreciated candor and her unique perspective is certainly one that needs to be emulated: that leaders are learners. Show Notes: [3:43] - Kim shares the beginning of her journey into leadership and how she found herself in her current position. [5:05] - Before digging into leadership development, Kim explains what her job entails. [6:15] - Show up curious. Leaders come alongside people and lift them up. [7:12] - Elyse comments on this new perspective of leadership that Kim presents. [9:03] - The mindset of furthering relationships with team members will make all types of conversations more comfortable. [9:34] - Women have a sixth gear: intuition. This is what sets a female leader apart. [11:18] - Elyse admits her current challenge in a leadership role and Kim agrees that avoiding hard conversations is certainly a struggle. [13:46] - When we give someone a “soft place to land,” we take away the discomfort that may actually cause change. [15:32] - Kim walks through her approach to starting difficult conversations to remain understanding and relatable. [17:11] - When your values and beliefs are out of alignment with a team member's, it is important to follow your intuition and make changes. [18:44] - Kim shares the lessons she has learned as a woman in a male dominated industry. [20:40] - Kim recommends a powerful book called How Women Rise. [21:43] - Kim notices that her male counterparts never apologize for taking up space. [23:41] - Elyse appreciates Kim's candor and different perspective on women in leadership. [25:43] - Kim went through cancer and shares the biggest lesson she learned through that journey: do not procrastinate. [28:50] - Every one of us has something in our hand. That is your gift to turn around and give back. [30:25] - Kim and Elyse compare leadership to giving. [31:53] - Personal change and leading yourself all starts with gratitude. [34:02] - Part of growth is surrender. [34:54] - Leaders are learners. You have to continue to grow and find mentors and coaches. There's no end point to your learning. Building a personal brand is a topic I absolutely love because it is all about the business of YOU. Whether you are an established entrepreneur or in the dreaming phase of launching your business, this topic will always be relevant. I feel this to my core, that selling or building a business without authenticity is not going to lead to living your best life. That's why I have invited Dr. Robyn Graham to She Sells Radio today. Using the power of brand strategies Dr. Robyn Graham helps multi-passionate women find their second phase and become entrepreneurs. She helps them build personal brands and launch businesses with solid foundations for long-term brand and business success. Robyn also helps her clients find clarity, confidence, and connection and identify their niche and ideal audience to create brand messaging that builds relationships that convert to profits. Using her six pillars of brand strategy, Robyn helps her clients build brands that stand out, attract clients, and make an impact while following their callings. Robyn's work includes brand marketing strategy, business coaching, branded photography, professional headshots, and fine art photography. She is also the host of The Second Phase Podcast and enjoys speaking on the value of brand marketing strategy and personal branding. In this episode, Dr. Robyn Graham takes us on her journey from pharmacist to entrepreneur. She lays out all the common mistakes and confusion as well as the keys to building a strong personal brand that will attract the right clients to your business. She is an expert of all things branding, so listen on to learn from the best. Show Notes: [2:48] - Robyn left the “safe” route as a pharmacist to pursue her passion for photography. She describes her upbringing and background. [4:58] - Initially, Robyn said yes to every client and discovered what people really needed: branding. [6:29] - Elyse agrees that lack of clear branding is a common mistake. [7:50] - There is a difference between your brand, branding, and brand identity. [9:15] - Interactions and engagement from others can indicate how people are perceiving you and your brand. [10:45] - How can you build an emotional connection with your audience? [11:50] - Without clarity, we can't have confidence. [12:31] - Where your values, visions, and passions align is where your purpose is. [13:28] - Make sure everything you say and do are aligned with your values. [15:02] - We have to own who we are and be content with who we are. [17:05] - You have to be yourself authentically to “sell without selling.” [18:13] - The biggest problem Robyn sees is when people create content to mimic what is popular rather than what reflects their own personal and authentic brand. [21:12] - Robyn explains why social media is not something she needs to do. [23:19] - The most important piece is alignment. Don't give away your power. [27:16] - What is it about a storefront that attracts you to go inside? This logic applies to online branding as well. [28:33] - You cannot go wrong when you hire a coach. All the way from Kuala Lumpur, today's guest has such a spirit of generosity. I am thrilled to be able to share her story with you on this episode of She Sells Radio because I know you will feel as inspired as I am. Murshidah Said is a multi-award winning international speaker, trainer, coach, and business owner. But she didn't start out that way. In fact, Murshidah and her family hit rock bottom, but as she shares in today's episode, her gratitude and generosity led to her turning just 50 cents into $5,000 in just two weeks. It sounds impossible, but Murshidah found the magic question and by discovering the law of giving and receiving, she continues to build wealth for herself and other women. Not only is Murshidah an inspiration to business owners but to her community as well. She helps generate money for those in poverty and has developed educational programs to help them. What started out as something personal, Murshidah has implemented her generosity as a business model and has found that the more you give, the more you receive. I am honored to have her on the show today and I encourage you to connect with Murshidah to learn how her business model won't just help your business grow, but will leave a lasting impact on your community. Show Notes: [3:13] - Murshidah shares her start. Her husband lost his job and they had a 6 month baby. With her back against the wall, she had to figure it out. [4:46] - Murshidah reflects on realizing her gratitude and looking at what resources she already had. [5:53] - What is Murshidah's “magic question”? She still uses it to this day. [7:29] - It is important to celebrate even the smallest milestones. [9:07] - “I was sitting on resources that I already had but I wasn't doing anything about it.” Once Murshidah had a why and felt gratitude for what she already had she started to see a shift. [11:23] - It was difficult to stay in a mindset of gratitude. Murshidah wanted to give up but her infant daughter kept her going. [12:21] - Murshidah admits that a gratitude mindset was something she had to learn as she is naturally a complainer. [13:33] - Murshidah describes an emotional moment in her journey and the verse that she read “When you are grateful, I will give you more.” [15:57] - Scarcity mode is something a lot of people are impacted by, but Murshidah explains why she celebrated even when there wasn't much. [17:41] - What is the law of giving? Murshidah defines it and shares a personal story of how this has impacted her. [19:07] - Murshidah started giving to orphanages, but she also started giving within her business. She actually saw her business grow. [20:17] - While contributing to the community, Murshidah became close to the homeless. She discovered that she wasn't really helping them get out of their situation so she shifted her business to focus on education. I love bringing amazing guests onto She Sells Radio and today I am able to bring someone on who is creating amazing change in the world with her business and brand. Rita Hausken is an unshakable optimist and truly believes that nothing is impossible. In this episode, she shares her inspiring story and how her son's rare genetic disorder changed her mindset, her drive, and her entire life. Rita is a strategist and leadership coach who has supported hundreds of women to take their seat at the table and speak confidently so their ideas and visions are heard. She comes from a male-dominated industry and through her experiences has realized that the biggest challenge wasn't the industry, but rather the masculine culture. Rita has since left the energy industry and is the founder of Shestainability through which she coaches other women to truly go after what they want, balance their energies, and work in a healthy and meaningful way that ignites their sense of purpose. I was brought to tears while listening to Rita's amazing story. Through her tenacity, drive, and love for her son Benjamin, Rita has created something that is not only changing lives, but saving them. Use this example today of what could happen when you don't take no for an answer and believe in yourself. Show Notes: [2:11] - A background in male dominated industries can make women feel very rigid. Elyse admires Rita's allowance of flow. [3:03] - Rita comes to us from Norway. [4:05] - It wasn't the challenge of it being a male dominated industry, but a masculine culture. [5:15] - Even with Rita's son having special needs, she found herself throwing herself too much into work. Rita describes her son's needs. [6:50] - When told that Rita needed to quit her job and stay home with her son, she went through grief and discovered that she was letting someone else's limiting beliefs affect her own. [7:34] - “Although I could not help Benjamin live a long life, I could help him live a good life.” - Rita Hausken [8:55] - Rita shares something her mother said that impacted her and combined with her love for Benjamin, she had a profound shift of mindset. [10:31] - Rita then began to work internationally and reached out to others with the same disorder. Gradually, the right people started showing up in her life. [11:19] - A doctor told her that he believed eventually there would be therapy for people with the same disorder but it would take longer than Benjamin's lifespan. [13:42] - Elyse and Rita discuss tenacity in spite of what doctors were telling her. [15:09] - At a time when Benjamin needed it most, therapy and help was too expensive. Rita shares what happened and she did not give up. [16:22] - Rita pushed and Benjamin received treatment. He is now 26 years old. [18:04] - Instead of accepting the doctor's claim that Benjamin would die in 2010, Rita decided to ask questions instead. [19:22] - Rita encourages everyone to always ask your questions and never to assume you will sound stupid. [20:23] - Rita began Shestainability to help other women bring their “crazy ideas” to the table because hers saved lives. [22:10] - Shestainability came out of the idea of using both the masculine and feminine energies to create sustainability. [23:50] - Once you have self-awareness, now the creativity shows up and you are in your zone of genius. [25:10] - Elyse describes some of the limiting beliefs a lot of women have when coming from a masculine energy background. [26:46] - Rita shares about her trouble with the word “busy” and thinking about her creation of a mastermind as carrying a child. [28:01] - There is a cycle for everyone and you will show up in your masculine or feminine energy. [29:16] - Oftentimes, when we are in our feminine energy, we try to lean back into the masculine energy to be more productive. But what happens when you lean into the feminine energy? [32:23] - Rita's social media of choice to get in touch with her on LinkedIn. You can also connect with her on her website linked below. [33:17] - Rita shares how a man in India has reached out to her and it illustrates the importance of connecting with others. [34:41] - Lean in and identify what you know about yourself to be true. “Financial independence is a birthright. We just have to know how to claim it.” Thanks to our guest today, Mel Abraham, we are taking the steps to understand how to do just that. I am thrilled to have Mel on She Sells Radio today because of how much of an impact he has had on me personally. I have always been good at making money, but in full transparency, I haven’t always been good at managing it. I began working with Mel as my financial coach and I am feeling so much more confident and am learning more everyday. Mel helps business owners and entrepreneurs build meaningful businesses so that they can have more profit, fans, and freedom. His principles help customers become raving fans and create fulfillment from a business that is congruent with your values, in alignment with your higher vision, and connected to all stakeholders at an emotional level. He helps bring people’s dreams out of the darkness and see the light again. He is a globally recognized thought leader, financial expert, best-selling author of the book The Entrepreneur’s Solution: The Modern Millionaire’s Path to More Profit, Fans, and Freedom, and a highly ranked podcaster. Something I admire about Mel is that he works with some of the top entrepreneurs in the world, but still always puts his own family first. As you listen to this podcast, you will feel inspired and driven to invest in your future in a way that brings you fulfillment now without sacrificing what’s really important. Show Notes: [1:39] - Elyse admits that in the past, she was good at making money but not good at managing it. She hired today’s guest as a coach. [4:09] - Mel explains that many CPAs look back at what has already been done which doesn’t do any good if you don’t look at what’s possible for the future. [5:34] - Sharing a story about raising his son as a single father, Mel illustrates how he changed his trajectory. [6:52] - Mel’s son drew a picture of his dad standing in front of computers with phones in each hand. This was an eye-opening experience for Mel. [8:24] - There is no work-life balance. Mel explains that we need to be on a search for harmony rather than balance. [9:29] - Elyse connects with Mel’s story as she takes a look at her developing relationship with her son. [11:32] - The core principle Mel teaches is being able to clearly answer the question of “Why?” [12:27] - “How do you know when you’ve crossed the finish line if you don’t know where the finish line is?” [13:40] - When Mel moved his son as the priority over the dollars, everything fell into place. [14:34] - What is your definition of success? Your own idea of success is what will be fulfilling to you. [16:13] - Instead of always looking at the cost of things in your business, consider how much of your life it costs you and determine what is worth that investment. [17:04] - For Mel, he took the time to determine the intolerables to make appropriate business boundaries for himself and his son. [18:16] - Many people will compromise so much of their lives for money. [20:33] - Elyse and Mel discuss the simple strategy regarding investment that has been successful for them. It is simple, but not always easy. [21:50] - Think about the message you create for yourself when you invest in your future with the leftover income each month instead of investing in yourself first. [22:54] - Mel explains the 50% percent rule and how it works, especially in an online business. [24:28] - If you follow the 50% rule, you have the opportunity to create a lifestyle for the future. [25:30] - Your dollars are the best employees when you invest and build wealth. Make it work harder for you than you did to earn it. [26:24] - Mel advises that if you don’t understand something completely, do not invest in it no matter how good it sounds. [28:51] - From an advisor’s stand point, are they giving you the best investment for a client or a suitable investment? Get the right person who has your vision in mind. [30:28] - Don’t be afraid to ask questions. If you aren’t sure where to go to ask, go to Mel’s podcast and he will help. [32:17] - The qualities that Mel looks for in an advisor are 1) have the heart of a teacher; 2) they understand your vision and buy into it; and 3) they need to have the soul of a servant. [33:38] - Mel’s number one piece of advice is to believe in the possibilities and don’t delay. [34:51] - What would Mel’s son’s drawing look like now? This week on She Sells Radio with Elyse Archer, Elyse is talking with Michelle Koert, founder of P Corp, a lifestyle design program to thrive in all areas of life. Michelle has 26 years of leadership experience with IBM, Google, and running her own global concierge company. Today, she’ll share things beyond the surface--physical, emotional, and financial health. Michelle hit burnout somewhere 10 years into her corporate career. She hit a wall and chose to take a sabbatical. She found there was a culture, across all of her corporate jobs, of ‘work, work, work.’ The responsibility falls on the individual to take the time they need, that’s where she comes in now. Michelle traveled the world experiencing a plethora of other cultures, and what she found was in direct contrast from what she was experiencing. As women, Michelle notes, we don’t take the opportunity to ask. When she did, she found the results to be incredible. She believes that more companies are looking for a variety of experience and the ones Michelle had became invaluable--her communication style and her ability to connect with people on a deeper emotional, compassionate level. She found that her femininity returned to her work. One thing that struck Michelle deeply on her sabbaticals was the sense of community. She was able to experience cultures where a woman would have a close group of lifelong friends that would be there for each other regardless of any circumstances. Michelle brought that philosophy back to Silicon Valley by creating a personal board of advisors. Replicating that tight-knit dynamic with a counsel results in a better work-life flow. Michelle’s lifestyle design program, P Corp (which stands for Personal Corporation) does just that. It’s about how you want to live your life now. If you were on your deathbed, are you happy with the work you’re doing now? It’s a level of stepping back and being intentional, realizing that you don’t have to live in a hamster wheel if you don’t want to. We have an amazing opportunity right now--we have a clean slate. It’s about creating an environment that is nourishing and sustainable. How do you last the next 100 years in the place you are now? Sometimes it takes change, but now is the time to make them. Email Michelle at michelle@pcorps.com to get a complementary discovery call and her Board of Advisors Deck to learn how to build your own with intention and direction. LINKS michelle@pcorps.com
Welcome back to She Sells Radio with Elyse Archer! Our guest this week is Julie Ciardi, a former Fortune 500 marketing VP turned multi-passionate entrepreneur. She is the podcast host of IGNITE Your Side Hustle. Julie believes that there has never been a better time for women to create an additional income stream that is aligned to her passions and purpose on this planet. If you’re looking to make some bold moves, you won’t want to miss today’s show! Julie found herself at the top of the corporate ladder as a vice president in a Fortune 500 company, making a good, stable amount of money, and was the primary breadwinner in her household. However, even though she had a comfortable place to be, she was stuck in what she thought she should be, and that wasn’t leaving her feeling fulfilled. Making the leap to doing her own thing was certainly difficult. Especially as a woman, Julie found herself battling fears of high risks and guilt. But once that idea was firmly planted in her soul, she knew she had to do it. There was a two and half year journey to leave corporate. Many women hesitate because they aren’t sure of the ‘right’ way to do it, but Julie reminds us that there is no right way, and you have to decide what’s right for you. For Julie, she and her family downsized--because it’s not about the money you make, it’s about the money you keep. That allowed her to take a step back and commit to her exit strategy. Many women Elyse works with say they’re afraid to take action because they fear that if it doesn’t work out the way they thought it would, then their dream is gone. Julie shares with us that it’s okay to try something and move on from it to the next step. As you move towards what you thought was your ideal situation, you may come upon an opportunity to have everything you’ve ever wanted, and all you have to do is take it. Julie curated the stand-out, break-out formula. It’s about understanding who you are, what makes you tick, and what is unique about you, then bringing that to the table no matter where you are. The courage to that, Julie says, was priorities. It was a willingness to take the leap, no matter what. Committing to what matters most to you over everything else is how you get there. That means being okay with saying ‘no’ to things. When you set boundaries and have self-worth, the true value is found. Another big part of the formula is a certainty. Having a crystal clear goal and understanding that you know where you’re going and why can create a burning desire. Success comes from that drive--when you have that, you’ll show up every time and you’ll achieve what you want to achieve. From there, the money flows. Consistency is another aspect of the formula. Everyone wants things to happen faster than they’re going to happen. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but breakthroughs do. But, you have to put in the time to get that moment. Feeling flatlined happens and that’s where people stop. But that’s right before the breakthrough! LINKS https://julieciardi.com/ https://www.instagram.com/julieciardi/
Today on She Sells Radio, Elyse is sitting down with Erin Hatzikostas to talk about elevating your business through radical authenticity. Erin is a former Corporate CEO turned Professional Pot-Stirrer. She's the CEO & Founder of b Authentic inc, and a best-selling author, TEDx speaker, career coach, nationally-published thought-leader, and podcast co-host of b Cause with Erin & Nicole. In February of this year, Erin released her first book, You-Do-You-ish: Unleash Your Authentic Superpowers to Get the Career You Deserve. Erin spent her first 22 professional years in the corporate world, stepping into huge roles and finding massive success. Just as she was at her best, she had the itch to do something new. When she made the announcement that she would be leaving her position at her corporate job, many of her colleagues commented that they would miss her authenticity. This was a lightbulb moment. Erin wasn’t just walking around with an uninhibited version of herself, it was an intentional effort to be authentic. She had learned to use authenticity as her secret weapon--her superpower--and she wanted to show others how they could do the same. There is certainly a balance of authenticity and how much you share. Authenticity doesn’t mean full transparency. You’re not going to go into a Town Hall Meeting and talk about your cuddle sesh last night. Defining authenticity is vital--it’s much more nuanced than just being yourself. Erin boiled down this concept into an acronym--HUMANS: Humility, Unexpectedness, Modeling, Adapting, Narrating, and Sparking. Once you understand these principles (outlined in her book), you can see the difference between “being yourself” and being truly authentic. From there, there’s no limit to being authentic. There are factors that can hold people back from being authentic. Erin mentions that we tend to emulate behaviors we see around us. It’s easy to get caught in a vortex of following others because it feels safe. The question is how to get over that. It’s about the experience. One--it’s not about you. Authenticity is about how you can better connect with people. It’s getting people to recognize the similarities you share. Authenticity is also incredibly contagious. When you start to be authentic, you unlock a power within yourself. For most people, it’s more of a release than a pivot. You no longer have to be rigid! The underlying message is you can do things your own way. This isn’t about changing people, it’s about changing their addictions. You can ignite fires for others with your own authenticity. Women have an advantage when it comes to authenticity, Erin says. She says often, women have been conditioned to shy away from higher positions. There is a fear of compromise--sacrificing family time, health, and other important factors. When you start to empower authenticity, it cuts through the fear and allows you to commit to what you genuinely care about. In sales, authenticity is massive. Of the six principles Erin talks about, Narrating plays a huge role. Trying to sell through traditional means doesn’t always work and sometimes, just doesn’t feel good. By incorporating storytelling and a certain level of sharing vulnerability, you open a window for relatability. Erin's final tip is the 50/50 rule. Take 50% of everything you learn, and fill in the rest of the way with your own work. Innovate and evolve! Welcome back to She Sells Radio with your host, Elyse Archer. This week, Elyse is sitting down with Lisa Woodruff, productivity specialist, home organization expert, and founder and CEO of Organize 365®. Lisa provides physical and motivational resources teaching busy women to take back control of their lives with functional systems that work. Today, Lisa is sharing with us how she built a million-dollar business in a way that felt right to her, and how we can apply that mindset to our work. At the end of 2011, Lisa quit her job and decided it was time for her to land in her ‘forever career’ as an entrepreneur. She’s a 4th generation female college graduate and 4th generation female business owner, so it’s in her blood. She knew she had be hiding behind ‘traditional’ positions, and even though she was going in not knowing what she would sell, she knew she would scale online. However, she noticed that people in her space were making money from ads, which she couldn’t as she didn’t have the traffic to her blog. From there, she started her podcast, which now has hit over 10 million downloads. She realized over the course of this time that she is a teacher at heart. She runs everything like she is an educator, and in order to provide transformation, she had to impart actionable knowledge--which manifested, in this case, as a partnership with an online community, course, and physical product. That way, her pricing is up to her and she can quantify the value she is bringing on her own scale. Lisa understands that she could take all the good things she’s learned and knows the impact her course, community, and product can bring. Because of that, she can cater the value she brings to women, as she understands that more often than not, women have a unique goal in their heart that they either can’t find the time to pursue or are made to feel bad when they do take action. Lisa is there to solve that. With her organization process, she can facilitate that growth. Lisa’s business revolves around an organizational $97 “Sunday Basket.” There are 3 things you need to organize your home. The first is to eliminate your to-do list and kitchen counter paper pile. You can get 5 extra hours of your day by doing just that. Once you realize your brain is not a to-do list maker, and you can delay your decision-making to one day a week (Sunday) you find free time throughout your day. Then, throughout the 100-day course, Lisa offers, you go through your house and get it organized. For most people, it takes 3 rounds or 1 calendar year. If you remember that 5 hours you got back, that is now transformed into 12 hours a week that you didn’t use to have. Lisa’s journey to success in sales is full of key decisions. The first thing she learned is that she didn’t want to do is set up a recurring payment model. Lisa found that the women she’s working with already have a lot on their plate that they’re trying to organize--adding a monthly payment to that only adds to the stress. A flat rate is simple, one time, and out of mind. Her pricing is high enough to deter non-interested buyers but low enough to be doable if you’re invested for life. Number two: the value she is bringing is probably worth more than what Lisa is charging, but she avoids the “and you get THIS added on!” marketing tactic. When she started her business, she decided the price and charged it, even though she knows the true value. In not giving a discount, she solidifies her model without question. By doing this, she never needs to run sales nor teach her potential clients that you never charge full price. It’s worth having folks put off a purchase if they come when they’re 100% ready to invest in the growth they’re getting. Lisa doesn’t pressure people into buying! It’s so effective, Lisa’s only had 2 refunds--ever. Lisa’s background in direct sales has provided her with a lot of perspective and insight into running her business now. She learned 4 things every business does: Pink--leads & marketing Purple--the product & VIP customers Blue--team & personal development Green--P&L & admin tasks She figured out that many people are REALLY good at one of these aspects, but because you may not have time to improve the other sections, your business doesn’t grow. This is a holistic approach, you need all parts of the puzzle. These are completely different skillsets, so it’s important to allocate time and energy to each color. For Lisa and many other women, the guilt of the to-do list comes with being a woman either in a household or not. It’s not wife & mother to carve out a day to impart a system to a business. There is a mental block for some generations of women that disallow for that to happen. Once you realize you’re not a professional duster, the mental shifts towards passions. What business owner is going to listen to your podcast and worry about you cleaning baby bottles? It’s about the impact you can have on society without detriment to other aspects of your life. Breaking through that six-figure mark for Lisa was all about those pink and purple parts of your business’s foundation. Find your weakness and reframe your perspective. Focus on sales & marketing and the leads will take care of themselves. Share and share authentically on a platform that you’re comfortable on and where your audience is. In addition, sell your physical time. It’s that simple. From there, sell your team’s time, your business’s time, whatever. Have that space.
