This show has been flagged as Clean by the host. This series is dedicated to exploring little-known—and occasionally useful—trinkets lurking in the dusty corners of UNIX-like operating systems. In UNIX Curio #4 ( HPR episode 4617 ), I teased the subject of file compression. Today I'm circling back to that. The history of data compression goes back at least to the 1970s, and in contexts outside UNIX and computers, probably even earlier. Somehow, it is refreshing to learn that humans have always struggled to have enough storage space to keep all the data they want to hang on to. One way around this limitation is to use some form of compression. I am only going to dive into lossless compression for this episode—that is, a compression method that can be reversed and will spit out the original data bit for bit. Lossy compression methods also have their places: you might be familiar with their use for audio (such as Ogg Vorbis or MP3); it's also used for images (such as JPEG). Lossy compression allows some of the original data to be thrown away, resulting in a smaller file than is possible with lossless compression, but the intent is for the result to still sound or look "good enough" to a human observer. Also, I am going to limit my discussion to generic methods used for many types of data; while FLAC does lossless compression, it is specifically designed just for audio. I should make clear that I have never studied computer science or information theory, so this episode will not get into the science behind various types of compression algorithms and how they differ. But in general, these methods take advantage of the fact that many types of data have recurring patterns. English text mostly consists of words that often re-appear many times—source code similarly has keywords and variable names that recur. Compression is accomplished by representing a piece of data that occurs multiple times with a symbol that is shorter in length. The first compression program in the UNIX world I could find is called pack , from 1978 1 . It was shortly followed in 1979 by a similar program called compact 2 . Both of these used a technique called Huffman coding, but with some differences between them. Files compressed with pack were given a .z extension and compact gave filenames a .C extension. Roughly every five or ten years after this, a new program would come along and achieve lasting popularity. There were, and still are, two opposing forces facing any new form of compression. Working in favor was the advantages it provided—first among these was achieving a better compression ratio, but performance improvements such as speed or reduced memory usage could also be compelling. The force against any new method was the fact that it was not yet widely supported—it doesn't much help to have a smaller file if the people you share it with cannot decompress it. The next major advance in compression arose out of three scientific papers: two in 1977 and 1978 by Abraham Lempel and Jacob Ziv (called LZ77 and LZ78), and one by Terry Welch in 1984 which built on LZ78. This last method is typically referred to as LZW. Our UNIX Curio for today is a program called compress 3 that implements the LZW method. Files compressed this way are named with the extension .Z . I had always assumed that this was to honor Jacob Ziv, but now that I've researched the history, it seems more likely to be a follow-on from how files compressed by pack were named. Since pack did not use any of the Lempel-Ziv methods, I would guess that it used .z because that wasn't already taken by anything else, but that's pure speculation. I do recall encountering .Z files in the wild, but feel certain that hasn't happened in the last 25 years, maybe longer. If you need to expand one of these, uncompress 4 is the program to use ( GNU's gunzip can also handle them 5 ). However, there was a serious problem that arose with the LZ78 and LZW compression methods. Both of them were patented, and the owner became aggressive in seeking payment from developers and users. The compress utility was developed within two months of the publication of Welch's 1984 paper and was included in Bell Laboratories' Eighth Edition UNIX before these shakedowns started. The paper did not disclose that a patent had been filed, and apparently Spencer Thomas and the other developers of compress were unaware of it. The utility became popular for a while, and was even standardized by POSIX, but people moved away from LZW once the legal threats started. Another important advance came in 1991 and was called the DEFLATE compression method. It combined the un-patented LZ77 method with Huffman coding to achieve a similar level of compression as LZW (actually, often better) without the legal trouble. DEFLATE was developed for PKZIP and was soon adopted by the GNU project's gzip compressor. While Phil Katz (the "PK" in PKZIP ) patented one way of implementing the DEFLATE method, it was possible to write a compressor and decompressor without infringing 6 ; also, he apparently never tried to enforce the patent 7 . As I mentioned in UNIX Curio #4, .zip is both an archive and a compression format. Each archive member can be compressed with one of several possible methods (or stored without compression). Unlike a tar file where compression can be applied to the entire archive, in .zip each archive member is compressed individually. This often means a .zip file will be slightly bigger than a tar file with the same contents compressed with gzip , because the .zip format cannot take advantage of duplication that occurs among more than one member of the archive. The vast majority of .zip files use only the DEFLATE and uncompressed storage methods and these are the only options if you want to follow the profile standardized in ISO/IEC 21320-1. Actually, since they both use DEFLATE, gzip is able to extract a .zip file in the special case where it only holds one member compressed with that method. From the 1990s onward, people paid significant attention to avoiding patent landmines, so only methods that didn't have that problem became broadly popular. While the patents on LZ78 and LZW have since expired, I feel like their most successful legacy was in discouraging people from using those methods, leading to DEFLATE taking the popularity crown. The next step came in 1996 and 1997 with the development of bzip and bzip2 by Julian Seward. The original method was quickly followed by bzip2 , which was the version that achieved true popularity. They use the Burrows-Wheeler transform, which does not itself compress data but re-arranges it to make it more compressible; this is combined with other techniques 8 . (At least, that's my understanding. I told you, I'm not up on information theory.) This provides a significant reduction in the compressed size of the data compared to earlier methods—however, it is slower than DEFLATE both during compression and decompression. Separate projects have developed parallel versions of gzip and bzip2 that can take advantage of multi-processor machines, but the original utilities run single-threaded. Another five years later, in 2001, Igor Pavlov added the Lempel-Ziv-Markov chain algorithm (LZMA), an enhancement to LZ77, to his 7-Zip compression tool. This was followed a few years later by LZMA2, a container format that allowed for LZMA compression to be split between multiple threads. Broad LZMA2 support came to the UNIX world in 2009 with the xz utility 9 . It offers roughly similar compression ratios to bzip2 , though it can be better or worse depending on the data to be compressed. While compression generally takes even longer than bzip2 , decompression is significantly faster (though still not as fast as gzip ). The Linux kernel relatively quickly supported booting from xz-compressed images 10 because it was a good match for that use case—compression, the time-consuming activity, only has to be done once while the more frequent decompression during boot happens relatively fast. The last method I will cover is Zstandard 11 , often written as zstd . This came about in 2015, and is another variation on LZ77 that uses finite-state entropy (which means nothing to me, but you might understand it). It performs about as well as DEFLATE in terms of compression ratios, but is much faster both when compressing and decompressing data. I should say that these statements are true with the typical default settings—depending on the compression level selected, it can compress more slowly, but compress the data smaller. However, decompression is always speedier than DEFLATE. This makes it attractive for some uses, and it is heavily promoted by Meta/Facebook, where Yann Collet developed it. For example, shipping large amounts of actively-used data between machines in a data center can go more quickly when the size is reduced; however, if the compression and decompression steps take too long that benefit is lost. A speedy method can be valuable even if it doesn't result in the greatest reduction in size. This use case stands in contrast to, say, a compressed backup file which might only be accessed in a disaster recovery scenario or never accessed at all, making size more important than speed. Both the xz and zstd utilities have some built-in support for multi-threading, but the default is to run in a single thread. While xz can use multiple threads for decompression (but only if the file was compressed in multi-thread mode), the reference zstd utility can only use more than one thread for compression, not decompression. There are many other methods of lossless compression that have been developed over the decades, but I believe these are the ones you are most likely to encounter in the world of UNIX-like systems. This is a personal opinion, and others might choose a different set. As mentioned, it can be tough for a new method to gain popularity and 35-year-old DEFLATE is still probably the most commonly used despite not being the fastest or offering the greatest reduction in size. Even systems like FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD that do not like to include GNU tools supported it by developing their own version of gzip based on the permissively-licensed zlib library. Technically, the LZW method used by the compress utility is still standardized by POSIX, so one might expect it to have the widest support. However, aggressive patent enforcement discouraged adoption, especially by Free and Open Source Software systems—even though the patent has expired, it is still out of favor compared to DEFLATE. For this reason, I feel justified in calling it a curio. While not totally rigorous, I did run each compression and decompression multiple times to ensure I was getting consistent results. The laptop I used has an Intel Core i5-6200U CPU running at 2.30GHz, and the system had at least 5 GB of free memory for each run. While this processor has two cores and can run four simultaneous threads, all utilities were run single-threaded. The term "best" means the highest level of compression available (the exact level used is shown). For bzip2 , the default is the best. For zstd , "best" is -19, which is the highest "normal" level, but "ultra" levels that are even higher also exist. Ratios are the percentage of the original size that the file was reduced to (other sources might instead express the compression ratio as the reduction in size achieved). In all results, smaller numbers are better. ┌────────────────────────────┬─────────────┬─────────────┬─────────────┬─────────────┬─────────────┬─────────────┬─────────────┐ │ │ gzip │ gzip │ bzip2 │ xz │ xz │ zstd │ zstd │ │ │(default -6) │ (best -9) │ (-9) │(default -6) │ (best -9) │(default -3) │ (best -19) │ ├──────────────┬─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │ │Size (ratio) │ 22,036,508 │ 21,891,623 │ 15,795,698 │ 13,487,768 │ 12,938,464 │ 20,454,657 │ 13,709,078 │ │ │ │ (24%) │ (24%) │ (17%) │ (15%) │ (14%) │ (23%) │ (15%) │ │English Text ├─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │(90,532,092 │Compression │ 4.8s │ 7.6s │ 8.5s │ 49.8s │ 58.8s │ 0.6s │ 65.2s │ │bytes │time │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │uncompressed) ├─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │ │Decompression│ 0.7s │ 0.8s │ 3.7s │ 1.2s │ 1.2s │ 0.4s │ 0.4s │ │ │time │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ ├──────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │ │Size (ratio) │ 125,291,122 │ 124,189,544 │ 98,016,512 │ 84,882,492 │ 81,954,344 │ 120,604,855 │ 87,298,645 │ │ │ │ (21%) │ (21%) │ (17%) │ (14%) │ (14%) │ (20%) │ (15%) │ │Source Code ├─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │(590,008,320 │Compression │ 22.0s │ 39.3s │ 54.8s │ 241s │ 298s │ 3.7s │ 348s │ │bytes │time │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │uncompressed) ├─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │ │Decompression│ 5.1s │ 5.1s │ 20.3s │ 8.1s │ 7.8s │ 2.4s │ 2.4s │ │ │time │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ ├──────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │ │Size (ratio) │ 32,830,905 │ 32,371,241 │ 26,856,579 │ 20,717,288 │ 20,352,880 │ 28,538,810 │ 23,154,582 │ │ │ │ (19%) │ (19%) │ (16%) │ (12%) │ (12%) │ (17%) │ (13%) │ │Binary Program├─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │(171,972,264 │Compression │ 6.4s │ 22.4s │ 18.6s │ 62.2s │ 67.8s │ 0.8s │ 111s │ │bytes │time │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │uncompressed) ├─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │ │Decompression│ 1.5s │ 1.5s │ 5.6s │ 2.3s │ 2.3s │ 0.7s │ 0.7s │ │ │time │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ ├──────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │ │Size (ratio) │ 146,397,772 │ 146,397,757 │ 144,485,451 │ 131,950,232 │ 130,926,780 │ 147,154,979 │ 145,703,840 │ │ │ │ (89%) │ (89%) │ (88%) │ (80%) │ (80%) │ (90%) │ (89%) │ │WAVE Audio ├─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │(164,396,302 │Compression │ 9.2s │ 9.2s │ 25.1s │ 70.4s │ 97.7s │ 0.7s │ 58.3s │ │bytes │time │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │uncompressed) ├─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │ │Decompression│ 2.0s │ 2.0s │ 13.5s │ 12.2s │ 12.1s │ 0.6s │ 0.8s │ │ │time │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ ├──────────────┴─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┼─────────────┤ │ │ gzip │ gzip │ bzip2 │ xz │ xz │ zstd │ zstd │ │ │(default -6) │ (best -9) │ (-9) │(default -6) │ (best -9) │(default -3) │ (best -19) │ └────────────────────────────┴─────────────┴─────────────┴─────────────┴─────────────┴─────────────┴─────────────┴─────────────┘ English text consists of Titles 1 through 10 of the 2020 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations . As we launch my new website this week, I've been thinking a lot about updates, changes, and growth. On this episode, I share a powerful experience I had in meditation that gave me a visual of the "source code" of life and inspired me to think about the beliefs, stories, and patterns that shape us. I share ways we can identify and let go of limiting beliefs, update the internal code we're operating from, and intentionally create new ways of thinking, being, and showing up. Michael Arden joins the show to discuss the monumental task of bringing The Lost Boys to Broadway and the technical alchemy required to turn a cult classic film into a soaring musical experience. He opens up about his "mad lib" approach to stagecraft, explaining how he utilizes traditional theatrical tools in unexpected ways—like tilting the entire orientation of a set to keep an audience off-balance or ensuring the set moves entirely on its own to make the space feel "alive". Michael also reflects on the high-stakes pressure of bypassing an out-of-town tryout, the "fearless skydiving" energy of his cast during a grueling preview process, and his years-long quest to convince his favorite band, The Rescues, to join him in the theater. The conversation also dives into Michael's deep-seated love for the "visual feast" of theater, tracing back to his childhood days rigging special effects in his garage. He shares how his collaboration with the design team at At Rise Creative allows for a "crash and burn" mentality that eventually leads to the most innovative solutions, from the irising neon boxes of Maybe Happy Ending to the complex verticality of the Palace Theater. Looking ahead, Michael previews his upcoming work on Happy Feet, discussing the challenge of mashing up music and integrating massive puppetry to bring the Antarctic to the stage. Michael Arden is a distinguished, two-time Tony Award winning director, recently honored for Best Direction of a Musical for Maybe Happy Ending. In 2023, he won the Tony Award for the acclaimed revival of Parade, following previous nominations for Once On This Island and Spring Awakening. He is the co-founder of At Rise Creative and has directed a wide range of works, including the 2024 Met Gala and Ben Platt's concert residencies. Beyond his directing credits, Michael is an accomplished performer who has appeared on Broadway in Big River and King Lear, as well as in television and film projects like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Source Code. We're kicking off with the mind-bending thriller Exit 8. Based on the viral "liminal space" gaming phenomenon, this film takes the simple premise of an endless underground walkway and turns it into a claustrophobic nightmare. If you see something out of the ordinary, turn back immediately.Fun Flix Fact: To capture that unsettling, clinical feel, the production team spent weeks studying "liminal spaces" and urban legends. They built a massive, modular set that could be rearranged overnight, ensuring the actors—and the audience—never quite knew which way was out.The Anomaly Rule: Keep your eyes peeled! There are exactly 24 subtle anomalies hidden in the background throughout the film. Only the eagle-eyed will spot the man with two shadows or the posters that change text when the camera pans!Next, we're heading to rural Ireland for Hokum. Adam Scott stars as Ohm, a cynical novelist who retreats to a remote hotel to scatter his parents' ashes—only to find himself obsessed with the legend of a witch trapped in a locked honeymoon suite.Fun Flix Fact: This is the latest from director Damian McCarthy (Oddity), who is quickly becoming the king of "Irish Folk Horror."Trivia: Adam Scott actually spent time with local Irish writers to perfect the "abrasive author" vibe of his character, even keeping a prop journal during filming to write "bleak" plot twists for his fictional books. To celebrate 15 years of high-concept sci-fi, we're revisiting Duncan Jones' Source Code. Jake Gyllenhaal has exactly eight minutes to find a bomber on a train—over and over again. We discuss why this remains one of the tightest, most rewatchable thrillers of the 2010s.Fun Flix Fact: To keep the "reset" feeling fresh, the crew built a train car that could be dismantled in seconds. Jake Gyllenhaal actually did his own "stunt" of falling out of the train, performing the sequence dozens of times to get the perfect physics for the loop. For this week's Hidden Gem, we're heading home for some high-stakes Australian horror. Dangerous Animals stars Hassie Harrison and Jai Courtney in a brutal survival thriller set on a remote stretch of coastline. When a dream holiday turns into a fight against the tide—and what's in it—things get very dark, very quickly.Fun Flix Fact: The film was shot entirely on location along the Gold Coast, making the most of the stunning (and terrifying) Queensland surf. To keep the shark encounters looking visceral, the production used a mix of "discovery-grade" animatronics and real-life shark footage rather than relying solely on CGI.Local Legends: Keep an eye out for several Aussie cameos in the opening scenes! And if that's not enough entertainment for you, we've even thrown in new trailers to watch and what you can catch on streaming. The evolving landscape of Anthropic and its flagship AI tool, Claude Code, during a volatile period in 2026. This era is marked by a massive financial surge, including a $380 billion valuation and rumors of an imminent IPO, even as the company faces performance degradation and user backlash. Technical reports and social media discussions highlight a reliability crisis caused by internal engineering missteps, such as reduced reasoning effort and memory regressions in the Opus 4.7 model. Furthermore, the sources describe a major security leak that exposed over half a million lines of source code, revealing unreleased features and hidden mechanics. In addition to these internal challenges, the texts examine geopolitical tensions arising from a dispute between Anthropic and the Pentagon regarding the ethical use of AI in military operations. AI is changing the future of work and raising real questions about what comes next. Together, let's explore how to navigate uncertainty with clarity and confidence, with God as our true source.
In a world moving at 5G speeds, how do we ensure our children stay grounded in timeless truth? In this heavy-hitting episode of Digital Dad Diaries, host Roosevelt "Rozaay" Butler dives deep into the "Source Code" of fatherhood. Joined by a special guest from the Islamic tradition, we put two of the world's greatest wisdom blueprints side-by-side: the Book of Proverbs from the Bible and the Story of Luqman from the Quran. We aren't just talking about rules; we're talking about Legacy. From establishing an "Identity Anchor" in a sea of social media noise to mastering the "Gentle Giant" balance of discipline and affection, this conversation proves that while the platforms change, the frequency of a godly father remains the same.
This week we leap to 2011 sci-fi action thriller Source Code. We leapt here with actor Jeffrey Wright. This was an interesting film and a good discussion. We hope you enjoy.
What if your dreams are more than random images—and instead hold a coded language of emotion, awareness, and insight? In this fascinating episode, Professor Kaya explores The Dream Source Code and Emotional Intelligence, offering a unique perspective on how our inner world may communicate through dreams. Drawing from psychological principles and conscious awareness practices, Professor Kaya discusses how dreams can reflect emotional patterns, unresolved experiences, and deeper layers of the mind. He explores the idea that understanding this “dream source code” can enhance emotional intelligence—helping individuals recognize, process, and respond to their feelings more effectively. This episode invites listeners to look at dreams in a new way. Are dreams a tool for self-understanding? How can decoding emotional signals within dreams improve waking life? And what role does awareness play in bridging the gap between subconscious insight and conscious action? Join us for a thought-provoking and enlightening conversation that explores the connection between dreams and emotional intelligence—where the mind speaks in symbols, and where understanding those symbols may unlock a deeper level of personal growth.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-x-zone-radio-tv-show--1078348/support.Please note that all XZBN radio and/or television shows are Copyright © REL-MAR McConnell Meda Company, Niagara, Ontario, Canada – www.rel-mar.com. On the 108th episode of Bomb Squad Matinee, Tanner and Austin discuss Duncan Jones' 2011 sci-fi thriller Source Code. After 15 years, does this film still manage to save the day in time? Do the visual effects still hold up? Is this one of Jake Gyllenhaal's most impressive leading performances? Tune in to find out!
In this episode, we do a rewatchable review of the 2011 American sci-fi thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal, titled Source Code. We discuss whether or not this film still holds up, especially given its twists, and we debate whether it borrows heavily from the 1993 film Groundhog Day.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
How does a $19 billion AI company lose its crown jewels overnight? In this episode of The Valley Current®, Jack Russo unpacks a catastrophic 2026 leak that exposed over 500,000 lines of Anthropic's Claude Code to the public, not through a hack, but a single missing line in its build pipeline. What follows is a legal and strategic unraveling: trade secret protections likely evaporate, global patent rights collapse, and competitors gain a clear blueprint to replicate advanced AI architectures. From autonomous agents to persistent memory systems, the leak may have reshaped the competitive landscape. And now the big question: did one mistake just accelerate the entire AI industry beyond what anyone predicted? This weeks podcast is a recent from our Creating Clarity Webinar on The Source Code to Attract Anything. In this powerful training, we explore what it truly means to attract what you desire from a Source perspective — a deeper understanding that goes far beyond the typical manifestation conversation. We break down the hidden dynamics behind why certain things flow into our lives with ease while other desires seem to stay just out of reach. We also dive into The Law of Subtraction — a profound principle that reveals how attracting what you want is often less about adding more effort, strategies, or techniques, and more about removing the subtle blocks, perceptions, and energetic distortions that stand in the way of what is already trying to come to you.If you've ever felt like you're doing all the “right” things but something still isn't clicking, this replay will open your eyes to a completely new way of understanding attraction.Listen to Saturday Service:https://pod.link/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8yNjAxODEzLnJzcw?view=apps&sort=popularityWatch Source Clarity Podcast:https://youtu.be/TmLeF44DCy0Freebie Offerings:• Join this week's Creating Clarity Webinar:https://nicky-moriarty.mykajabi.com/creating-clarity-webinars• Access Your Intuition Workshop (Free):https://nicky-moriarty.mykajabi.com/accessyourintuitionworkshop• Download the Free Source Clarity Meditation:https://nicky-moriarty.mykajabi.com/sourceclaritymorningmeditation• Join us for Saturday Service:https://www.eventbrite.com/e/saturday-service-tickets-1978160841327?aff=oddtdtcreatorReady to go deeper?• Join Intuition Level One Waitlist:https://nicky-moriarty.mykajabi.com/intuitionlevelonewaitlistConnect with Nicky:• Instagram (Nicky Moriarty):https://www.instagram.com/nickymoriarty• Instagram (Source Clarity):https://www.instagram.com/sourceclarity• Website:https://www.nickymoriarty.com

4/2/2026 WORKPLACE CULTURE - BRAND - ATTITUDE - STORY - WHICH ONE IS SOURCE CODE?EPISODE 1763RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS VIDEO:
Cisco Source Code Stolen in Trivy Fallout, Axios Supply Chain Attack, and Active Exploitation of Fortinet and Citrix Flaws David Shipley reports multiple major security incidents: attackers used credentials stolen in the Trivy supply-chain attack via a malicious GitHub action to breach Cisco's internal development environment, clone 300+ GitHub repos, steal source code (including AI products) and AWS keys, and impact customer-related code; Cisco contained the breach, re-imaged systems, and rotated credentials. A separate supply-chain attack hit the widely used JavaScript library Axios after its maintainer account was compromised, pushing poisoned NPM versions that installed a dropper/RAT via a fake dependency; users are told to downgrade affected versions, remove the dependency, rotate credentials, and review CI/CD logs. Active exploitation is confirmed for a Fortinet FortiClient EMS SQL injection (CVE-2026-21643) and for critical Citrix NetScaler flaws (CVE-2026-3055, possibly alongside CVE-2026-4368). Anthropic accidentally exposed details of a new model, "Code Mythos," described as highly capable in reasoning, coding, and cybersecurity. Finally, TechCrunch reports escalating allegations that compliance startup Delve helped fabricate audit evidence and worked with weak auditors. Ben Smith and Andrew Bloch reviewed the UK PR pitch and M&A market in February, noting that the pitch market was "steadier" with clients taking longer to decide, while agency M&A was "booming" with high demand and competition driving up prices for agencies around the £20 million enterprise value, especially those leveraging AI. PR pitch wise we saw significant client wins for Edelman, Words and Pixels, Brazen, W, and Hope&Glory, and key acquisitions included Resident acquiring Okay Cool, Future Group acquiring Alfred's assets, Kink acquiring Lobby PR, Havas acquiring a 51% stake in Acento, and Source Code acquiring Rally Point. WPP's strategy was discussed, as it shifts into four unified business units, including WPP Creative under which PR brands will sit.

Dynatrace is at a pivotal point, expanding beyond traditional observability into a platform designed for autonomous operations and security powered by agentic AI. In an interview on *The New Stack Makers*, recorded at the Dynatrace Perform conference, Chief Technology Strategist Alois Reitbauer discussed his vision for AI-managed production environments. The conversation followed Dynatrace's acquisition of DevCycle, a feature-management platform. Reitbauer highlighted feature flags—long used in software development—as a critical safety mechanism in the age of agentic AI. Rather than allowing AI agents to rewrite and deploy code, Dynatrace envisions them operating within guardrails by adjusting configuration settings through feature flags. This approach limits risk while enabling faster, automated decision-making. Customers, Reitbauer noted, are increasingly comfortable with AI handling defined tasks under constraints, but not with agents making sweeping, unsupervised changes. By combining AI with controlled configuration tools, Dynatrace aims to create a safer path toward truly autonomous operations. In this Source Code Clearing Meditation, Wolfgang guides you through the process of reclaiming your Original Divine Blueprint and identifying areas where spiritual source code tampering may have occurred. In his work with clients, Wolfgang continually uncovers previously unseen interference patterns. Not as abstract theory, but as practical “pay dirt” moments. Hidden energetic debris that, once revealed, explains long-standing symptoms and allows the system to finally clear. When the source is removed, there is no longer a need for coping mechanisms that only mask the imbalance.Strong sensations may occur during or after the meditation. Self-Trust Sessions #4 What if your most magnetic message isn't something you create — but something already encoded within you? In this episode of The Self Trust Sessions, Victoria Gibson unpacks her latest training, Your Messaging Source Code, a groundbreaking approach for women entrepreneurs ready to be seen, heard, and recognized in the current social media landscape — without forcing themselves into formulas that dull their truth. You'll hear why the old rules of "niching down" no longer work, and how your Soul Line Activation Elements, drawn from your unique Human Design, reveal the energetic resonance that naturally calls in your right clients, collaborations, and opportunities. This conversation dives deep into: ✨ Why your message feels stuck when you keep outsourcing your authority ✨ How to cultivate self-trust instead of self-doubt in your visibility and marketing ✨ The power of understanding your "fractal line" — and how to magnetize your aligned audience ✨ Why resonance matters more than reach for lasting revenue (and what that really means for your business growth) And yes, there's even a little Real Housewives detour that perfectly illustrates the magic of resonance vs. dissonance — because your message, like your energy, isn't meant for everyone. Ready to decode your own source of truth and be recognized for who you truly are in business?

An Invitation to ListenThis episode continues the conversation that unfolded during the live Q&A for The Source Code of Manifestation.Together, we explore the questions that arose in real time as the material landed, revealing how understanding deepens once the surface layers give way.Larry joins the discussion without having taken the class, but after spending time with the music chant on its own. His experience offers a revealing contrast: what shifts when sound engages awareness before explanation.Alongside him, panelists who completed the class share their moments of clarity, the internal recalibrations they noticed, and the new questions that emerged as the work integrated. We also introduce the idea of the Inheritance of the Light Jedis. Not as mythology, but as recognition. A capacity that becomes accessible with clarity, responsibility, and expanded awareness. This episode isn't a recap. It's the Q&A carried forward. If you're curious how manifestation looks when it moves beyond theory and into lived experience, this conversation opens the door.Listen in →Hear the questions that emerged during the Source Code of Manifestation Q&A.The discussion doesn't stop here - listen to the full podcast episode for unfiltered insights from Inelia and our panelists. PTSD is said to be a pandemic all over the world. Although a lot of what doctors diagnose as PTSD is for profit, as in to sell medication, a great deal of it is also real.If past trauma keeps looping and affecting you in your life, this might be the most important thing you read today.Your soul has its reasons — and they're not what you are usually told or in any way a positive reason. For example, I have heard many people say that their trauma happened to make them a better person and to learn positive lessons in their life. These are untruths taught to them to accept negativity. The soul's reason is much more basic than that. This does not mean you have PTSD. The symptoms of PTSD are severe and very intrusive affecting your life over everything else. The majority of the population is experiencing stress and anxiety, not PTSD. However, this article will help you either way and will give you tools to deal with what needs to be resolved at this time, no matter the intensity of the issue. Here is my attention, though: many lightworkers experienced heavy trauma in this lifetime. This happened because they stepped into a warzone. Now, it is time to release all those traumas. There are a couple of ways a person might drop their traumas. One pretty dramatic way some will try is to drop the life they are in — meaning, die — and start again, but that comes with the very high possibility that they will bring all their traumas back with them in their next life. There are, thankfully, other ways. One way is to work through the hurt and get to the other side of the trauma or PTSD.Here is the thing: even though there should be no difference between healing a small hurt and healing a trauma that causes PTSD using the fear processing exercise, there is a big anchor created through those traumatic experiences that the body and soul hold on to and resist dissolving. This body and soul resistance is what makes a trauma take so much time and effort to dissolve. Small hurts are not held on to by the soul.I was very surprised that this dynamic exists when it comes to big trauma. Why would a soul hold on to it? What is the reason behind it? I can understand, to a certain degree, why a body might hold on to a trauma — but a soul? Why would a soul resist dissolving or removing a big trauma?I ask these questions not to psychoanalyze or create theories or explanations. I ask them because I want to shed light on this dynamic. As we let the light within rise and become form, we cannot hold onto trauma — we must release it. If we hold on to it, it will hurt physically and energetically, as it causes a point of resistance in the flow of light energy. My life has been overly traumatic. The experiences I had from before I was born all the way to adulthood were, by all accounts, extreme in the negative sense. Although they disabled me to a large degree in my capacity to function in this life, I managed to get through life anyway. The fear-processing exercise was a tremendous help in 2006. It helped me go from waking up every day in a state of absolute terror and petrified with fear (a normal PTSD symptom), which would take hours to overcome before I was able to move my body out of bed, to waking up with just some harsh memories and thoughts. It helped me go from extreme vigilance and scanning for attacks and dangers every moment of every day to a background stress and tension of dread. The processing exercise also helped me see the lighter side of life and recognize darkworkers better so I could stop interacting with them.Overall, this exercise made a massive difference in my life. I can say that I am now more functional than the great majority of the human race who have gone through trauma. For example, other people who have gone through harsh circumstances are riddled with addictions and incapacity to function on a daily basis. Many are dead, having committed suicide. But that's not enough.During our workshop at the Shamanshack this year, we explored a cleansing method to deal with deep, dark programs and bundles of energy — some that we may have carried from lifetime to lifetime. This sets us up for many physical, energetic, and soul-level benefits. Then I finished and released the class The Source Code of Manifestation: Unlocking the Quantum Core of Creation. This class brings us to a place where we cannot hold onto any type of hurt or trauma if we choose to achieve the goal we came here with: to embody the light paradigm on Earth. This class requires a large level of commitment.Unfortunately for me, this meant that all the trauma I had put aside for “later” — because “it wasn't affecting me that badly” — now has to be addressed. As the light started rising through me and taking form, I felt a great deal of pain in my physical body. Knowing that pain during light flow means resistance, it became clear that this was not something I could ignore. It is like ignoring chronic physical pain. You can do it and you can function normally — I know, because I lived that way for many years — but it's not truly dealt with . And you are definitely not functioning from your highest potential, but only a faint image of your true self.So how come there is such a resistance by the soul and body to remove the big pain?Spiritual traditions and modern psychology show us several aspects that contribute to this. The core of the issue is fear. The body and soul lock into survival and protection mode on a permanent basis, bundling that damaging experience and making sure it doesn't happen again. The situations that created the trauma can be so complex and varied that a person becomes a walking danger detector. Hypervigilance, stress, fear, and negativity then abound. In the light/dark paradigm, the type of situations that caused deep trauma are considered normal even though there is nothing normal or common about them. However, as we start to let the light within rise and take form those layers of fear and protection bundles become highly incompatible. They hurt physically and often mentally, energetically, and emotionally. On the one hand, the body and soul are in protection mode; on the other, the energy cannot easily pass through those low-frequency modes, so it causes pain. The body and soul then increase the resistance because “obviously” the layer of protection is not strong enough — and so the spiral continues. Generally this will end the light from rising, lead to dropping your purpose for incarnating and firewalling or avoiding healing. Massive resistance comes up to stop the pain by stopping the apparent cause. But we can't stop, as light working light beings stop allowing the light to rise and take form. We just can't.One of the interesting aspects is that usually at this level of engagement — where fear and stress are involved — only the body is engaged. However, with trauma, the soul is also engaged. When we see this, we must remember that the awareness level of our soul is at the viewpoint of the singular self. The oversoul (higher self) is not involved. And a singular-level soul can and does carry a subtle body of experiences, desires, and programs from moment to moment and life to life. It desires survival, and combined with the body's survival imperative, these form a compounded lump of energy stuck in our field and bodies. This affects every single one of our bodies (emotional, ego, physical, energy, and mental).I separate the bodies to make working with them easier. When we work on strengthening each body, it so happens that we also affect all the others. Because in truth, none of them are separate from each other. Not even the soul is separate from our physical body in all its expressions, but tethered to it — affecting it and being affected by it.My article would not be complete without me providing a path to solving the issue. So how do we convince the body and soul that all is well? That the danger is over and we can now chill and relax? That we can stop being hypervigilant and stressed?Continue using my fear and stress processing exercises. These will help no matter what level of hurt you are experiencing. Also use the exercises and the music in The Source Code of Manifestation: Unlocking the Quantum Core of Creation class. In fact, stop listening to any music with degraded lyrics and replace it with high frequency light filled music like what I have created at ineliarecords.com.And if you are carrying PTSD-level hurt, be gentle, get help in a form that truly heals your soul/body relationship and doesn't just hide the symptoms — and if you feel any burning or pain in your bodies, slow down as you allow the light within to rise and take form. Be kind to yourself. Know and understand that you are healing and need more TLC (tender loving care) than you normally would. Stay on track and know that this too will pass. The discussion doesn't stop here - listen to the full podcast episode for unfiltered insights from Inelia and our panelists. This is a public episode. What do crystals, fossils, stunning sunsets, black magic, demons and insanity have in common? Our drive to Colorado does.It started as a simple trip — one week or so in Delta,Co., including driving time because we were scheduled to present at a Sasquatch conference in Beaver, Wa. immediately on our return. Larry and I had found a piece of land in Colorado that was stunning: acres of desert mesa beauty covered in selenite crystals, ancient fossils, and wide open sky. But to make it ours, we stepped into something else entirely. The land we originally purchased was not empty. It is 40 acres, half of which when looked upon resembles a moonscape pristine and majestic alluring and entrancing, yet look the other direction, and it was sprinkled in abandoned squatters encampments — people living in tents, and improvised shacks, surrounded by hills of garbage, abandoned vehicles, and the unmistakable residue of drugs and dark practices. It wasn't just a physical mess. The entire area felt thick, like a psychic swamp.Yet, the power and the message from the land was very clear: clean me.This started a line of questions and inquiries for Larry and me because it did not make much sense for our lives. Yes, the whole thing came about because we bought land and wanted to hold in person events there — yet the view was massively and negatively impacted by the encampments, not exactly the ideal backdrop for a gathering. We wondered how to fence off or hide the view of the encampments — maybe trees, or a very big fence — so our guests would not be subjected to the negative view. Little did we realize then that the negativity was not just in the view; the people there were drug addicts and black magic practitioners. It was a classic case of buying a slice of paradise then finding out your neighbors are 100% incompatible with your enjoyment of that paradise. Something not unlike the present split in reality we are cocreating this very moment more broadly. Some things are simply incompatible with each other. Period. But that realization came some time later. Some months ago, one of our neighbors told us that the parcel covered in black magic and detritus was for sale through a foreclosure sale. Larry and I looked at our finances and bought it. After the sheriff's sale, we believed the previous owners and their guests would become compelled to leave and we would have clean, clear land with some clean up perhaps to conduct.Nope. They dug in, and we had to spend months and thousands of dollars in litigation to clear them out. Apparently, landowners in Colorado have a huge burden and many hoops to clearing their land from individuals with any claim whatsoever to being present. Once cleared, trespassing is very strongly enforced with very serious consequences, but give, as in give permission at any point, even in a limited manner, and that can quickly be construed as permission to inhabit which then requires a long process to rescind. As we arrived there for our week visit, I remember standing there the first day, watching the wind shimmer through the crystals on the ground while the smell of decay and burnt plastic rose from piles of trash. Light and shadow, beauty and horror, coexisting within the same few acres of land. I thought it would be a quick cleanup because the eviction process was set and it was just a matter of the sheriff coming over and getting the squatters to leave the land.I was wrong. The Land of ParadoxThere's something surreal about seeing selenite glinting in the sunlight beside syringes and blackened fire pits. The land itself seemed to whisper — “Clean me.” It was both sacred and deep. Ancient. Yet, the surface was anything but.Larry and I sat down to discuss why Gaia — the land and the human collective — wanted it cleaned. After all, what does it matter to Gaia if those people and garbage stay there? After a million years, nothing would be left of them. A million years ago everything there was blown to smithereens by the largest volcanic eruption on the continent creating the flat topped mesa 100's of square miles in size, which is just the base of this gigantic mountain that is no more. Another million years ago the entirety was submerged at the bottom of an ocean of water. So a few people? What's the biggie, besides it was nasty to experience in our present, a dark to our light. But the message came in stronger every day: no one was allowed to stay, and no garbage was allowed to stay either. We visited the sheriff's office to find out what we were supposed to do, and they were very clear that for the process to be legal, we had to be present. Physically stay and be there for the entire process to be legal and complete. Otherwise, it would be cancelled and would need to begin over again from the beginning.Oops… We might not make our sasquatch event commitment…The eviction date was not the one stated in the judgment. We had to wait two days after that date, then get a writ for the sheriff, who would then post eviction notices, and after ten more days, go to the land to evict them. After that, the people would get another day to get all their stuff out.Not only that, but the eviction process itself was complex. It required us to go into all the structures where people were living — RVs, mobile homes, and so on — and remove absolutely everything that was not nailed to the ground, floor, or ceiling… by hand, and place it in an area they could later accessYup, we were told we had to move all the items by hand. There were deadlines, county notices, and an eviction process already in motion. On paper, it looked straightforward. In reality, what those people had in their living accommodations was the stuff of nightmares. The rooms were filled from floor to ceiling with garbage, scrap metal, dirty laundry and dishes, and so much more — including drug needles and black magic sigils on the floors, walls, and ceilings. And then came the energy of resistance. The people living there didn't want to leave. They begged, lied, cast spells, called the sheriff, their own lawyers, and called upon spirits — sometimes all in the same day. They wept and they cursed. It wasn't just about losing a camp; it was about a dark collective trying to hold on to territory, both physical and energetic. At night, I could feel the field pulsing — fear, anger, confusion, war. Each morning, I'd wake determined to face it again, and each night, I'd fall into bed emotionally drained, my nervous system fried. The Human Vessel of DarknessIt's easy to think of “squatters” as a faceless problem. But once you meet them, you realize they're human vessels of darkness — fragments of the collective human psyche acting out low-frequency patterns: aggression, anger, suffering, indulgence, righteousness. Each one carried archetypes: the lost healer, the trickster, the wanderer, the wounded child, the demon, the mage. Some were kind, some dangerous, some clearly caught in deep delusion. A few believed the land was “theirs by divine right.” Others just wanted to stick it to the man. I couldn't help but feel pity for their choices — but pity alone wasn't enough. One of the sheriff's deputies told us to be careful — that these people had months to get organized and leave, and they hadn't. They would try to get us to let them stay longer, but if we agreed, the entire legal process we had gone through would be invalidated. For most lightworkers, the hardest part is learning where compassion ends and enabling begins. Sometimes love wears the face of firmness. Saying “no” to darkness is not a rejection of humanity — it's a kindness and an affirmation of truth. This was one of the most important things to keep in mind for this trip: staying loving without becoming naïve, staying clear without becoming aggressive or overwhelmed.Still, leading up to the eviction date, our bodies took a toll — both emotionally and physically. And then, our allies rallied around us.Yes — four of our Driving to the Rez panelists, plus our friend Teo, traveled over a thousand miles to help us clean not just the new land, but also the previous property, which still had garbage and negative energies from the previous year when we had purchased it.They arrived in two RVs, with their pet dogs, garbage bags, gloves, and other equipment to get the job done. And did they ever! They arrived a few days before the eviction date and got to work. We also had an amazing time hunting for desert-grown selenite crystals, fossils, agates, jasper, and petrified wood.At night, we gathered to skywatch in the desert and saw multiple planes, satellites, and yes — UFOs!The Eviction Day ArrivedThe sheriff's deputies arrived on time, calm and professional. The county representatives were kind, responsive, and genuinely concerned. The neighbors offered tools, advice, and hands. It was as if the universe had organized a living example of collective light-in-action. Where I expected bureaucracy, I found compassion. Where I expected to be overwhelmed, I found help.It reminded me that humanity is not lost. The system — often criticized for its lack of empathy — became, in this case, a framework through which order, safety, and clarity could flow.It wasn't “us versus them.” It was all of us bringing a corner of reality back into coherence.Larry and I met the sheriff's deputies at the road and decided to evict the trailers scattered throughout the land first. As it happened, the people had already left, but they had left their trailers and a lot of items inside them. We left our helpers back at our other parcel until we were sure those people were gone; they had become aggressive in previous days, and we didn't want to risk anyone's safety. We had employed a moving company that specialized in evictions. They said they would empty the buildings, place everything on the doorway, and then we had to move it away to a designated area where the squatters then had 24 hours to collect it.Two big, strong men arrived to empty the trailers and buildings, and Larry got to work with them. Then it was time for the big mobile homes. The sheriff told the people to leave the building, and they did so without a fuss. We called our friends, and they came over to start getting everything from the doorway out into the land where the squatters could then pick through it and take whatever they wanted. For 24 hours, all that stuff was still theirs. It took about eight hours non-stop to remove all the items from the two mobile homes. The residents were hoarders — like the worst nightmare show on TV, but worse. Looking back, if our friends had not come, we would have taken several days to finish the job.All I could do was watch and hold space, as before we left for Colorado I had broken my ankle and was not able to move much or stand on it.The Weight of NegativityDespite all the help, the experience took a toll. The level of emotional and mental pressure was something I hadn't felt in years. It wasn't just the logistics; it was the energetic density. The constant whining, as the adults played victims and painted us as aggressors, was exhausting. There was a young boy, around fifteen years old, who lived in that mess. Quite honestly, he was the most positive and helpful of the entire group. My emotional body felt inflamed and overstretched. My mental field would spin with intrusive thoughts and worries that weren't ours. At times I'd stare at the situation, wondering how so much darkness could exist in one place. One of the pieces of guidance I had received before eviction day was to realize that this was not about those people. They chose to stay where they didn't belong and to live in that type of situation. Gaia and the human collective did not want them there, and we were facilitating their exit. They will be fine and continue with their choices no matter where they go.Remember, this is our land now. As a matter of fact, they went to live at a much larger property with others who have the same lifestyle. We know this because, in the following week, we helped them take a lot of their stuff to the new land. They were not unhappy. On the contrary. It reminded me that in the light paradigm, darkness is literally not allowed to exist. Cruelty, addiction, co-dependent behavior, and black magic — all these things are not allowed to exist in our lives. Therefore, as we now owned the land, all those energies, and the people who carried them, had to leave. But why? I still wondered.Well, if you know my work, you'll know about the connection between power and land — and perhaps the Mapuche concept of the Rewe (pronounced “ewe,” though not spelled that way).I asked Gaia, why is it so important to own this land in Colorado and to clean it? We have our home in Washington State, and we have the Shamanashack and our collective land at Fossil Beach — so what is significant about the properties in Colorado? The answer came — fascinating, but not yet fully understood. The answer was: “The land in Colorado is a Rewe reservoir.”A reservoir of power? And if so, how do we access it?Well, the people there were using it for darkness. The Rewe was not fully activated, as no one knew how to do it — which was a good thing. So that was the reason for the removal of the people and the garbage that was encrusted on the land.It was not until everyone left and removed their claims that I pulled a couple of cards to get guidance on the land, and two things happened. One of them was that the power came out from inside the land and rose through my spine into the world — to take form.Just a note here: the sentence “The light inside rises and becomes form” will be fully explained in my next class, The Source Code of Manifestation: Unlocking the Quantum Core of Creation, which you can pre-orde here: “The Source Code of Manifestation”Sanity in the Midst of InsanityTo stay sane, I had to practice extreme diligence. Every day began with grounding, breathing, and re-centering in presence. I'd remind myself: observe, don't absorb. When fear, in the shape of stress, tried to creep in, I observed it as an external weather system. When exhaustion hit, I found small moments of beauty — the fossil of a shell glinting from the dirt, the way the setting sun turned the desert gold and purple, the laughter of a friend helping load the truck. The secret wasn't escaping the insanity. It was standing as the still point within it. Each day became an exercise in applied awareness — all the while allowing the inner light to rise and become form. What I understood is that true mastery is not theory or information only. We need to apply it for it to help — to use it in the mud, under pressure, surrounded by chaos, when the only thing holding us together is our choice to stay conscious and respond instead of react. The Turning PointWhen the final eviction was over, I didn't feel triumphant. I felt relief — and a strange sadness. That evening, a deep silence settled over the land. For the first time, I could hear the desert breathe again. Not just that, but I could feel myself and the desert breathing together. Our friends left after the squatters moved on. It still took a few extra days for the garbage to be hauled away, and beneath it all, the land revealed herself: ancient, raw, luminous. The selenite caught the morning light like tiny galaxies embedded in stone.A one-week trip had turned into a month-long marathon. The journey wasn't about property or cleanup — it was about embodiment, boundaries, and the split within consciousness. The human collective, represented by the county, the sheriff, the neighbors, and our small team, had come together to restore coherence. It was proof that light doesn't fight darkness — it simply holds a strong presence and boundaries for darkness to dissolve and move on. We were not friends, not acquaintances not cocreators with them, we were not enemies, conquerors, warriors pitted against each other, we were the light and only light. The Teaching from the LandLooking back, the land was the real teacher. The selenite — a stone of clarity, healing, and cleansing — wasn't just in the soil. It was in the experience. The fossils whispered of time, endurance, and the slow patience of existence. The entire ordeal mirrored humanity's current split: ancient wisdom buried under layers of distortion, now rising to the surface to be seen and healed. The most impinging realization for me was how much stress the human body and mind can endure when we forget to stay centered — and how quickly peace returns when we do.In the end, sacredness wasn't found in the crystals or fossils, but in the discipline of staying clear and kind when the world around us spins in chaos and tries to engage us in victim–aggressor blame and fear. The land wanted us to stay, and the work was not done yet. There were still piles of garbage and structures on the land that needed to be dealt with, but Larry and I put our foot down and drove home. Surprisingly, our trips usually take twice as long as the GPS tells us, but this time, instead of three days, it only took two.Who stayed behind finishing the cleaning of the land, garbage collection, and more was our friend and neighbor Jay. He sent us a video yesterday and we could not believe the change. All that is left are the mobile homes and a shed — nothing salvageable but things the squatters want back, and if they are able to figure out a way to get them off the land, we will work with them to do it.And yes — there's so much more to this story. The adventure, the people, the strange synchronicities, and the laughter that kept us human through it all. Even three guys on electric bikes going up and down adobe hills! Teo fell a few times, but it didn't stop him.To hear the full story from Larry's and my perspective and to find out what an adobe hill is, listen to this week's episode of Driving to the Rez.Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts, and join us for the next unexpected journey into the living field of Earth herself. To listen to our tribe's journey of over 1000 miles to help us, click here. The discussion doesn't stop here - listen to the full podcast episode for unfiltered insights from Inelia and our panelists.
