Break the shackles of expectation. Just as successful people have an expectation of themselves so to do those who fail and succumb in life. Break the shackles placed on you by others and by yourself that you are who you are and there's nothing you can do about it. That's BS. You can change. People do it all the time. I've done it. Michael Moreno is a freshman at Weber State, where he encountered and contended with a clearly racist professor who sought to discriminate against students and people in general based on their race. Michael pushed back against this idea and the results can be heard in our episode. Michael also came on the show in episode 36. In this episode, I speak with Objectively Dan, who was once a christian and now no longer beliefs in God. He lost his belief after a street epistemology interview with Anthony Magnabosco and now hosts his own SE-style show, Truth Wanted. Truth Wanted is a show about getting to the bottom of beliefs, whether it’s karma or Christ, Bigfoot or crystals. Truth Wanted would like to know how you know it’s true. Hosted by ObjectivelyDan, Truth Wanted takes calls from the community (that means YOU!) and features new guests every week, emphasizing thorough conversations over name-calling and scoffing (most of the time). Truth Wanted focuses on how and why people believe what they believe, and how you can talk about beliefs in more effective ways. Join us for truth investigations and lively conversations every Friday at 7-8:30pm CT 1-512-686-0279 We also have a Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCD1RiH1j-M6C59z1upPXkWw?disable_polymer=true Your support helps me make more videos and podcasts: Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/thatsbs _(We have rewards for supporters like bonus episodes & videos) _ Visit our Website: https://thatsbs.fireside.fm/ Share our conversation with a friend (or enemy) and help us get our name out. My website is www.PaperbackRocker.com. You can find the podcast archives there. Find my books of rock and roll fiction on Amazon by searching my name, Matt Syverson. Follow me on Twitter @PaperbackRocker. Email me at PaperbackRocker@live.com. Thanks for listening! The show notes are as follows: The show is almost out of the teen years and hopefully knows what it wants to be when it grows up. There has been a learning curve/evolution going on, and I have come to the conclusion that doing a minimally edited, shoot-from-the-hip show is best for me. Doing my early thirty minute shows took about five hours or so, which I outline for you. I can't keep doing that, so I'm just recording straight through without editing unless something major happens. I discuss the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and how stupid they do things. They want to put bands in, but not all the members. For example, Nirvana's drummer from the "Bleach" era, Chad Channing, is not going to be in. Only the lineup from "Nevermind" has been invited. That's BS, because being the drummer for Nirvana was a lot harder in the "Bleach" days than in the "Nevermind" days. "Bleach" was raw music before the band was radio ready. I talk about flannel shirts and what my father and I called them, as well as some anecdotes about my exploratory journey to Seattle. I also talk about getting tattoos, which until recently were illegal to get in Oklahoma. When I was 18, I went to Wichita Falls and got a terrible tattoo. I tell some tattoo stories about good and bad decisions. I talk about the writing program, Scrivener, as well as the Word template I usually writer in. It's hard to write on an 8.5 x 11 virtual sheet of paper, because so many words fit on the page. Next, I talk about Patty Schemel, drummer for Hole and childhood friend of my ex-wife. There is a documentary about her on Netflix called, "Hits So Hard". She left Hole during the recording of "Celebrity Skin", mainly due to the jerk producer they had. She has conquered addiction and has a dog-walking business now. I talk about how Mark Lanegan almost threw the master tapes from his solo album in a lake. Hope you enjoyed this shoot-from-the-hip episode!
You've heard it time-and-time again... A problem that can be solved with money isn't a real problem. Brian Pray from www.AllYouWantInLife.com is calling BS on that. Not to trivialize people with health problems but to say that money problems aren't real in today's society it totally off base. Today's episode is sponsored by www.7FigureDreams.com
That's right... Black Ops has been out long enough it's time to talk about our frustrations and also talk about the upcoming patch that will be release hopefully within the next week or so.
