The Chicago Bears have been in this position before. Many times.Another franchise-defining decision awaits at quarterback. With the NFL Combine set to begin next week — coaches, execs and scouts all descending upon Indianapolis — we forecast all QB movement. Will the Bears move Justin Fields to make way for USC's Caleb Williams? If so, where does Fields land? What are teams getting in the mobile quarterback? Co-host Jim Monos has studied Fields closely since his Ohio State days. Kirk Cousins will undoubtedly have a strong market. The Minnesota Vikings will set their price in Indy.Perhaps the Atlanta Falcons make Cousins an offer he cannot refuse. We discuss. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills need to get creative with contracts. Both of us expect GM Brandon Beane to push money down the road to win now. The state of affairs may be murky with Stefon Diggs right now. He was cryptic on Radio Row. In the end, we agree both sides are still best together. You can listen to the Go Long Show right here at Go Long and everywhere you get podcasts, including Apple, Spotify and YouTube. The Denver Broncos and Sean Payton have a number of players they could put the franchise tag on. The top options are Josey Jewell, Lloyd Cushenberry, Wil Lutz and Michael Burton. Should Sean Payton place the franchise tag on any of those players? How much would it cost the Denver Broncos to do? Also, would trading Jerry Jeudy to the New York Jets for Zach Wilson be a good deal? Plus, we break down USC's Caleb Williams on film. NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah and Rich discuss how the Chiefs' dynasty compares to the Patriots' Tom Brady/Belichick dynasty, the NFL Draft stock of USC's Caleb Williams, if the Washington Commanders should move up from #2 to #1, his pre-draft evaluation of Patrick Mahomes coming out of Texas Tech, and more. Rich reacts to a fired-up Travis Kelce bumping Chiefs HC Andy Reid during a heated moment in Super Bowl LVIII, debates who the Chiefs could face in their home opener to kick off the 2024 NFL season, and if the reveal of next year's Super Bowl logo color intones anything about next season's Super Sunday matchup. In his weekly YouTube appearance, Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise joins host Adam Bittner to react to Steelers owner Art Rooney II's openness to a QB trade despite Kenny Pickett's presence on the roster. Could the Bears' Justin Fields be a fit as that team eyes USC's Caleb Williams in April's NFL draft? Does Fields or Pickett fit new OC Arthur Smith's offense better? What about possible veteran free agent targets including Russell Wilson, Ryan Tannehill and Kirk Cousins? And how far could Kenny Pickett have helped the Super Bowl-bound 49ers advance had he switched places with their current signal caller, Brock Purdy? Our duo tackles those questions as well as the future at wide receiver. Does Hines Ward make sense as a potential position coach? Could former Pitt and Clairton standout Tyler Boyd be a fit in free agency? And what should GM Omar Khan be looking for in a draft WR? Plus, Adam and Paul get into the Pirates' reported interest in C Gary Sanchez and their options at starting pitcher. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

"Bleav in Steelers" host Mark Bergin is joined by "Bleav in Bears" host Joey Christopoulos to discuss the possibility of the Chicago Bears trading quarterback Justin Fields. As the Denver Broncos, Sean Payton and George Paton mull over whether or not to move on from Russell Wilson, they must also decide if he's a better option than all of the other quarterbacks they could add in the offseason. If the team decides to move on from Wilson, their options in free agency will be limited due to the dead cap of Russ' contract. But the options might not be limited in the draft. In fact, there is buzz that Payton and the Broncos might be willing to trade up in the draft to land their QB of the future. Is there any truth to that? NFL Network insider James Palmer joins the show to break them down! Could that include USC's Caleb Williams, LSU's Jayden Daniels or UNC's Drake Maye? Or could it mean staying at 12 and drafting Oregon's Bo Nix, Washington's Michael Penix Jr. or Michigan's J.J. McCarthy? Denver also could turn to free agency, which includes names like Minnesota Vikings' QB Kirk Cousins, San Francisco 49ers' QB Sam Darnold, Tampa Bay Buccaneers' QB Baker Mayfield or New Orleans Saints' QB Jameis Winston. Should the Broncos be interested in trading for Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields or New England Patriots QB Mac Jones? We talk about the best options for the Broncos' QB of the future. The Denver Broncos are a finalist to be on HBO's Hard Knocks. Are they the favorite with Sean Payton at the helm? Should they be the favorite? The other teams are the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints. If the Bears keep Justin Fields would they be better than the Broncos? What about if Chicago and ****Matt Eberflus**** selects USC's Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft? If the Broncos keep Russell Wilson, would they be a lock to be on Hard Knocks? Would Sean Payton WANT Hard Knocks to be in Denver? PLUS: We break down the Divisional Round Playoff games and make our final picks. Will Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers pull off the massive upset against ****Christian McCaffrey****, Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers? Will C.J. In the final hour, Dan Bernstein, Laurence Holmes and Leila Rahimi were joined by former Bears director of player personnel Josh Lucas, who shared his scouting reports on the top quarterback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class, including USC's Caleb Williams, North Carolina's Drake Maye, Washington's Michael Penix Jr., LSU's Jayden Daniels and Michigan's J.J. McCarthy. Later, Bernstein, Holmes and Rahimi listened and reacted to Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles politely answer a reporter who didn't know the Lions play in a dome.
Fans chanted “We Want Justin!” Players repeat that Justin Fields is their quarterback. But this is also why players play, coaches coach, fans fan and GMs GM. It's much more complicated for the Chicago Bears. Here on the Go Long Show — with longtime NFL personnel man Jim Monos — we analyze the major quarterback decisions ahead. The Bears own the No. 1 overall pick and a chance to draft USC's Caleb Williams. Would they really pass this up to keep Fields? Also, the Pittsburgh Steelers are riding the hot hand with Mason Rudolph. Where does this leave 2022 first-rounder Kenny Pickett? He doesn't seem too pleased with Mike Tomlin's decision. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints are stuck with Derek Carr in 2024 and… it's getting messy in Denver. Very messy. Monos can relate to a team telling a quarterback with injury guarantees to sit. His Buffalo Bills did the same thing with Tyrod Taylor in 2016. We take another stroll down (bad) memory lane. Audio is above. Video is below. We'll be recording another episode later this week to preview the game of the week: Buffalo at Miami. Game No. 272 could be a defining moment for the Bills.Speaking of Fields, here's how the NFL scouting community viewed the mobile quarterback out of Ohio State. Is he a “knockoff Cam Newton” or the QB who “pushed Burrow out of a job?” Three years in, the Bears must decide. Go Long is your home for longform journalism in pro football. Before Sean Payton's first full season with the Denver Broncos was over, he made the decision to bench Russell Wilson in place of Jarrett Stidham for performances purposes. This would seem to indicate the end of Wilson's time in Denver. However, there are reports stating that Payton and the Broncos could bring Wilson back if he is their best option at QB for the 2024 season. Is that true? What would have to happen for Wilson to be considered the best option moving forward? Would Wilson take a pay cut after stating that he wants to be in Denver moving forward? Can Jarrett Stidham's play in the season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders impact this decision? Who are other options for the Broncos at quarterback moving forward? Will it be the free agent route, such as Jameis Winston? Or could it be the NFL Draft, with options such as USC's Caleb Williams, North Carolina's Drake Maye, LSU's Jayden Daniels or Washington's Michael Penix Jr.? Today on the Logan Blackman Show, as we're watching the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the New Orleans Saints, we take a look a both Travis Etienne's and Najee Harris' careers up to this point while also discussing if Harris is actually a 'bust' of a first round draft pick. We then take a look at the 2021 NFL Draft as whole, seeing how each player and team has done since then and figuring out if some of the top picks will ever truly reach their potential. Sticking with the Draft, we fast forward to the 2024 NFL Draft and go over some of the things surrounding USC's Caleb Williams. We go over the recent news saying he wants 'partial ownership' of an NFL team as well as take a look at his 'sideline outburst' v Notre Dame and decide whether or not that is a problem going forward (as well as discuss sideline 'outbursts' as a whole). We then go through our usual 'State of Iowa' preview, going over who each team is playing this weekend as well as taking a look at the resurgent rivalry that is Iowa and the national media. Finally, we make our officially official Olympic flag football team as well as power rank the big four sports in America by how good they are during the regular season and the postseason. Enjoy!
The 1-5 Denver Broncos are on track to have a Top 5 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and are in prime position to draft a top-tier quarterback such as USC's Caleb Williams or UNC's Drake Maye. With the Broncos' season off to such a bad start, do you want the Broncos to win games this season? Or are all eyes set on getting the best possible pick? Is this week especially important for that question with Denver facing the 2-3 Green Bay Packers? What are the keys to Sean Payton and Russell Wilson beating Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love? Will Denver win? What about the rest of the AFC West teams? Will the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders extend their lead on the Broncos? We give our final picks of the weekend. PLUS, we break down every team you should be cheering for this weekend if you want the Broncos to secure the No. 1 overall pick. LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has been playing absolutely out of his mind all season long. He has carried the LSU Tigers to their 4-2 record and did as much as he possibly could even in their two losses to Florida State and Ole Miss. Between his ability as a passer and threat with his legs, Daniels has proven to be more valuable to the LSU Tigers than any other player is to their respective team. Is it enough to get him to New York City as a Heisman Trophy finalist at the end of the season? Daniels currently has the sixth best odds to win the Heisman Trophy, behind Washington's Michael Penix Jr., USC's Caleb Williams, Oregon's Bo Nix, Oklahoma's Dillon Gabriel, and UNC's Drake Maye. Daniels passing stats are comparable to the quarterbacks with the best odds, having put up just shy of 2,000 passing yards through six games and 19 touchdowns with only two interceptions. But what Daniels has that separates him from not just the rest of the Heisman contenders but the rest of the country is his running ability. Daniels without a doubt is the best running quarterback in the country, as reflected by his 75 carries for 422 yards and four touchdowns. Daniels is the seventh leading rusher in the SEC, racking up more yards than seven starting running backs in the SEC. He makes massive throws, takes care of the football, and the imminent threat of his run game forces defenses to pay attention to his escapability. He is doing something that no other player in America can do – that alone should be deserving of an invitation to the Heisman Trophy ceremony in December. But what is left for Jayden Daniels to do? What must he, and the entire LSU Tigers football team, need to do in order to solidify his spot in NYC? NFL Insider Tom Pelissero and Andrew discuss the Bears trading disgruntled WR Chase Claypool to the Miami Dolphins, Chicago ending a 14-game losing streak with a Thursday Night Football win over the Washington Commanders, if Jonathan Taylor will play for the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday after spending the season's first month on the PUP list, and if Falcons QB Desmond Ridder and Patriots QB Mac Jones could find themselves riding the pine of they don't step it up pretty soon. Locked On Pac-12 - Daily Podcast On Pac-12 Football & Basketball
Colorado has established itself as a legitimate team to be worried about in the Pac-12 in 2023, and they were once again a big winner on Saturday. But the fanbase in the Pac-12 that should feel the best right now is Washington State. On today's episode of Locked On Pac-12, Spencer McLaughlin assesses the mood of Pac-12 fanbases with his weekly "winners and losers" segment. Nobody is at the bottom of the barrel in that regard, and plenty of teams are carrying positive momentum into the final week of non-conference play in week 3. USC's Caleb Williams is off to a stellar beginning in 2023, further solidifying his status as the #1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft--if he comes out. Spencer closes with thoughts on the idea that he could stay another year at USC as they head to the Big 10. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Today on the Logan Blackman Show, after a brief announcement, go over all that happened this weekend in the world of college football! With that, we take some time to reflect on our pre-season Iowa State v UNI prediction and how it completely went belly up on UNI's first offensive drive. We go over if we still feel Theo Day is still Iowa's QB1 as well as take a look at how good Rocco Becht and the offense looked v expectations on Saturday. Moving over to Iowa, we recap the Hawkeyes 24-14 win over Utah State. We discuss why the scoreline wasn't really that surprising, how Cade McNamara did on his opening start, and why next week's Cy-Hawk game in Ames is a little tougher to predict than what most originally expected. Going more national, we go over Colorado's big time win @ TCU, which saw Travis Hunter play 110 snaps on offense and defense, totaling 119 yards receiving and an interception, throwing him directly into the Heisman race. His main competitor though, USC's Caleb Williams, is having himself a very good start to the season, so we discuss how Hunter's performance, along with Shedeur Sanders, will impact Williams' chances of winning back-to-back Heismans. Finally, after some very good performances, we go over why it's a good year to need a quarterback in the NFL Draft. Enjoy!

Locked On Tar Heels - Daily Podcast On North Carolina Tar Heels Football & Basketball
Per On3's Jamie Shaw, class of 2025 PF Niko Bundalo wants a UNC scholarship offer. The Ohio-based rising junior had a breakout summer and has fielded offers from many teams, but the one he wants, his dream school – North Carolina, is one he's still waiting on. With all the other elite power forwards that Coach Davis has already offered in the class, will he extend yet another? How does Bundalo's game translate to the high major level? One of the major preseason talking points every college football season is Heisman buzz. Many feel content to boldly claim that USC's Caleb Williams is better than Drake Maye. Host Isaac Schade isn't buying it. How does College GameDay being at UNC's week 1 game affect recruiting? Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
Andy and Jesse Simonton review George Kliavkoff's explanation at Pac-12 media day that the league wasn't announcing a media rights deal so that the focus would remain on football. That, of course, led to a logical question about whether the media rights deal was done. (Spoiler alert: It wasn't.) We then honor Kliavkoff's request to talk about football by examining USC coach Lincoln Riley's assertion that he and the Trojans have a responsibility to the west coast to be nationally relevant. He's not wrong, but that assertion should seriously tick off Oregon, Washington and the others staying in the Pac-12. (0:00-23:57) Next up is the main event, the 2023 Quarterback Draft. Andy and Jesse each get 10 picks from a group that is loaded on the west coast and full of question marks at some of the bigger programs in the east. Who will pick the better group? (23:58-1:01:42) Later, Joe Ovies (Ovies + Giglio) joins Andy to preview ACC Kickoff. Joe had a fascinating interview with North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham last week that laid out how difficult it would be to challenge the ACC's Grant of Rights. Joe explains where the seven schools that have complained about the league's revenue sharing really stand. He also talks about Clemson's chances of re-establishing its dominance, Florida State's rise and the potential of North Carolina with Drake Maye back at QB. (1:01:43-1:22:50) Andy's Extra Point is a call for questions for Monday night's Dear Andy show. It'll be another live show, and we want everyone — those watching live and those watching/listening on demand — to have a chance to get their questions answered. Former Pro Bowl QB Carson Palmer tells Rich why his NFL Draft night experience was anything but nervous and tense when he went first overall back in 2003, why he made those eyebrow-raising comments comparing Joe Burrow to Patrick Mahomes, and that Alabama QB Bryce Young is a slam dunk pick to go #1 in the draft although USC's Caleb Williams would be the first player chosen if he were eligible this year. Alabama All-American LB Will Anderson Jr. tells Rich how he's prepping for the NFL Draft, if he'd be a good fit for Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks if he falls to #5, what finally being drafted will mean for him and his family, and more. Rich weighs in on the Packers life-after-Aaron-Rodgers with Green Bay handing the reins over to QB Jordan Love. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Rich recaps the Grizzlies' Game 2 win over the Lakers that featured some incendiary postgame comments from Memphis' Dillon Brooks that are likely to fire up LeBron James for Game 3, and debates if Kentucky QB Will Levis visiting with the Patriots is genuine interest or a Bill Belichick motivational tactic to light a fire under Mac Jones. FOX Sports' Joel Klatt tells Rich that he predicts some team will trade up to #3 in the NFL Draft to select Florida Gators QB Anthony Richardson, why some of the best players in college football (see USC's Caleb Williams and OSU's Marvin Harrison Jr) won't be available until next year's draft, where Texas Longhorns RB Bijan Robinson could land, explains why working alongside play-by-play legend Gus Johnson is akin to Double Dutch rope skipping, if Daniel Jones' new Giants contract could cause trouble with Saquon Barkley, if the Patriots have genuine interest in Will Levis, and why this could be Jim Harbaugh's year to lead Michigan to a College Football Playoff national championship. The Minnesota Vikings have multiple options when it comes to the draft. KARE 11's Reggie Wilson joins the mailbag edition to ponder the likelihood the front office does in fact draft a quarterback with their first pick. Plus, how many teams would you swap the Vikings roster for in the NFL? Should the Vikings draft Minnesota Gophers center John Michael Schmitz even after the resigning of Garrett Bradbury? Finally, should the team look to stockpile future picks in hopes of landing USC's Caleb Williams or North Carolina's Drake Maye in the 2024 NFL Draft? Learn more about your ad choices. The MMQB's Albert Breer and Rich discuss Aaron Rodgers' uncertain future with the Green Bay Packers, the Jets-Derek Carr mutual interest, how USC's Caleb Williams and UNC's Drake Maye could impact the Chicago Bears' draft plans this year, if Lamar Jackson and the Ravens will ever be able to agree to a long-term contract extension, the chances the Rams trade CB Jalen Ramsey and if the Titans would ever trade All-Pro RB Derrick Henry. Rich debates the best landing spots for Henry if the Titans were to blow things up and start from scratch on offense, and in ‘Overreaction Monday' weighs in on Justin Fields, Mac Jones, Dak Prescott, NFL Draft QBs, LeBron and the new-look Lakers, Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks, and MLB's controversial new Pitch Clock rule. Today on the Logan Blackman Show we recap a pretty enjoyable weekend for yours truly, and we start off discussing USC's Caleb Williams winning the Heisman Trophy. We go over the rest of the top 10 and try and figure out who could challenge Williams in next year's trophy race. Sticking with this year though, we take a look at some other quarterbacks from around college football and go over who we would take between them and Georgia's Stetson Bennett. Going off on the 'who's better' topic, we go over all the things that make LA's Justin Herbert and Miami's Tua Tagovailoa and try and figure out which quarterback is truly the best out of the two. We then switched gears to soccer and recap all that happened in recent quarterfinal action, where we saw some pretty big upsets take place. We then discuss the age long debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and, hopefully, for once and for all, put an end to the 'G.O.A.T.' debate. Enjoy the show!

Fox Sports/The Athletic's Bruce Feldman joins Rich in-studio where he breaks down Michigan's “shocking” rout of Ohio State, predicts how the latest College Football Playoff rankings will play out, says why Auburn overlooked Hugh Freeze's dicey background and brought him back to the SEC, why Auburn passed on Deion Sanders and the chances Coach Prime takes the Colorado job, and says if the likes of USC's Caleb Williams and UNC's Drake Maye have ushered in the era of free agent college football quarterbacks. Rich recaps Kenny Pickett and the Steelers' Monday Night Football win over the Indianapolis Colts and breaks down Jeff Saturday's highly questionable clock management at the end of the game. Locked On Canes - Daily Podcast On Miami Hurricanes Football & Basketball
Miami Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is getting some preseason love for the 2022 Heisman Trophy. At 30 to 1 odds, 'TVD" is in a 3-way tie for fourth place after Ohio State's CJ Stroud, Alabama's Bryce Young, and USC's Caleb Williams. Miami has had 2 Heisman trophy winners but haven't had anyone step to that podium since Gino Torretta won the award way back in 1992. Will Van Dyke be the one to end Miami's 30 year Heisman trophy drought? Host Alex Donno breaks down the stats and win totals that TVD would likely need to stand out above the competition. Importantly, Miami will need to win at least one of their toughest 2 road games at Texas A&M or at Clemson. If Van Dyke can play a starring role and elevate Miami to AT LEAST one victory on those road trips, he could have a shot if he consistently puts up big numbers. But can he fend off tough competition? Donno also breaks down a bold prediction about the 2022 Hurricanes from a national publication that he doesn't consider to be particularly bold. And how about this for a great regret... JJ Watt recently revealed that he grew up a Miami Hurricanes fan and was a Canes fan during his recruitment. Can we forgive Randy Shannon and his staff for not getting Watt to come to Miami all those years ago? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
