My name is Moss Bliss. I'm a podcaster. This is technically my 2nd HPR podcast, but as the first one was unintentional AND back in 2019, I can start fresh. I don't know much of anything. I'm a Linux user, about the same way most people are Windows users. I have gotten more technical over the past few years largely due to being a regular on various Linux podcasts. I don't have sufficient education to be hired in computers (although I've tried several times), and I did spend a few years in radio back in my youth. So what do you have to know to become a podcaster? Almost nothing. Just so long as you have a computer, an Internet connection, and a microphone. (For some shows, you may need a webcam.) I got into podcasting by asking questions. I tried for almost 2 years to get Chris Fisher at Jupiter Broadcasting to co-feature me, with zero experience, on a podcast about using Linux desktops. It never happened. So when in 2018 Rob Hawkins asked for new hosts to take over mintCast, I was one of the first 10 or so people to apply, and one of 6 who eventually stuck with it. All I had was a computer, an Internet connection, and a Blue Yeti microphone my little sister gave me. Within a few months, I started another podcast, Distrohoppers' Digest with Tony Hughes. And a couple years later, I was asked to take over Full Circle Weekly News. Apparently some people like my voice. Since starting my little mini-career in podcasting, I have probably more than doubled what I know about Linux. I'm not all that scared of the Terminal anymore... Some microphones are pretty bad, and my Blue Yeti was the worst one on the show when I joined mintCast. In about a year, I found a very inexpensive CAD Audio U29 USB mic, currently $20 at Amazon, and that worked pretty well. Some time after taking on Full Circle Weekly News, the magazine bought me a Samson Q2U ($60), which I'm still using. I love this mic, as it can be used either as a USB mic or plugged into a sound box for even better audio. When I started, I had a T430 laptop and the Blue Yeti microphone. My listeners and co-hosts have made my life better with new and used equipment I could never have afforded on my own, including laptops, Raspberry Pis, modems, routers, headphones, and even a sound box. My current setup includes a 2016 Lenovo ThinkCentre M600 Tiny, which cost me under $200 on eBay, a Focusrite Solo sound box (a gift from a friend), a WavLink ST336A external goodies box (also a gift), and an old Dynex 26" TV I use as a monitor I paid $15 for locally. I have a boom arm for my microphone, which is made by Neewer and costs $15 on Amazon. My keyboard is a Fellowes Microban Natural, which I need as a trained touch typist. And I put all this stuff on a little rolling computer desk, which I bought used locally for $25. The only software I use is Audacity, and I didn't need to know any more than the basics. If you're part of a team, such as mintCast, you aren't even required to do any audio editing, although if you know your way around Audacity you will find your skills very welcome. If you want to start podcasting, have the equipment, contact Ken (Note: I misspoke in the audio and said Ronnie where I meant Ken) and do something here at HPR, which is a fairly low entry bar, or you might contact long-running shows such as mintCast. Participation and commitment are usually all that is required. OK, so maybe you want to do more than produce an HPR show or join mintCast. You have your own idea and you want to get it out there, your own personal podcast. This is where it gets a little more detailed. If you already have the information you need, you can stop the podcast here, but... First, you'll need a website or blog (if you're really broke, there are free WordPress sites available at wordpress.com, or you could use the dreaded Google blogs (blogger and blogspot). Other than that, you'd have to register a domain name, find a webhost, and write a website, some of which can be cheap (or not!). Then you have to find a way to stream your podcast. Google has closed Feedburner, but there are some paid places like Red Circle you can get for not much bread. Those will probably help you stream your podcast to places like Apple Music, Archive.org, Spotify, etc. But if you want help from me, I'm already lost. mintCast is handled by Bill H., Distrohoppers' Digest is handled by Dale M., and my Full Circle Weekly News is uploaded to Ronnie for publication. Or maybe you want to do it with a few friends, and they can't cram themselves into your bedroom to do that. In that case, you should explore using Discord, Jitsi, VDO.ninja, or (sizzle preserve us!) Zoom. Everyone will need to record their own part of the stream, and you'll need someone who knows Audacity well enough to edit a few (or several) streams together. Maybe you want to post it on YouTube. If you want both a video and audio podcast, someone will have to learn OBS and Audacity, and if you want the video podcast to be edited, have fun learning one of the many video editors out there (you might start with KDEnlive). For more information on streaming, you'll need to get someone else to make an HPR podcast on the subject. Way over my head. I hope this little show has pushed a few of you into wanting to try your hand. It doesn't take much, or it takes a whole lot, depending on what you want to do, and your future listeners will thank you. My listeners have certainly shown me lots of thanks.

Have you ever wondered "what would happen if you or a family member had a medical emergency while using public transportation"  Today we feature Bill H. who had a cardiac event after boarding a Chicago Metra train and the two bystanders that weren't about to let these be his LAST train ride!   Automated external defibrillators can help save lives during sudden cardiac arrest. However, even after training, remembering the steps to use an AED the right way can be difficult. In order to help keep your skills sharp, we've created a quick step-by-step guide that you can print up and place on your refrigerator, in your car, in your bag or at your desk. This way, you can review the AED steps any time, at your convenience, and keep them fresh in your memory. How to Use An AED These AED steps should be used when caring for a non-breathing child aged 8 or older who weighs more than 55 pounds, or an adult. After checking the scene and ensuring that the person needs help, you should ask a bystander to call 911 for help, then: 1.  Complete the CHECK and CALL steps 2.  As soon as an AED is available, turn it on and follow the voice prompts 3.  Remove clothing and attach pads correctly Remove all clothing covering the chest. If necessary, wipe the chest dry Place one pad on the upper right side of the chest Place the other pad on the lower left side of the chest, a few inches below the left armpit Note: If the pads may touch, place one pad in the middle of the chest and the other pad on the back, between the shoulder blades 4.  Plug the pad connector cable into the AED, if necessary 5.  Prepare to let the AED analyze the heart's rhythm Make sure no one is touching the person Say, “CLEAR!” in a loud, commanding voice 6.  Deliver a shock, if the AED determines one is needed Make sure no one is touching the person Say, “CLEAR!” in a loud, commanding voice Push the “shock” button to deliver the shock 7.  After the AED delivers the shock, or if no shock is advised, immediately start CPR, beginning with compressions

Delight Your Marriage | Relationship Advice, Christianity, & Sexual Intimacy

My heart goes out to any wife who has experienced sexual abuse. There are so many layers of pain... it's truly horrible.  As a husband, the evil that was done to your wife harmed her immeasurably. The person you love the most. And it impacted your marriage, your intimacy, and your life forever.    Is healing possible? What if she doesn't "DEAL WITH" her abuse? (Sometimes I hear men say that their hands are tied if she doesn't deal with her trauma.) Can a husband do anything?   I believe Bill's story can give you hope.  He would say, "Yes."    From many years of a full life but an empty marriage, he is thrilled to tell you, there is hope even for your marriage.  He has 43 years under his belt.  He was a self-diagnosed "podcast addict." :) Always looking to FIX his wife. He knew there had to be a solution. But nothing moved the needle ...until Delight Your Marriage.   He said after 3 months of the Masculinity Reclaimed program (MR)... from decades of passionless marriage, they feel "like 60-something teenagers ...we're so in love!"   His wife sent me an email after she heard his interview and she confirmed what he said and shared her sentiments as well. I read that on the podcast as well.    May you be encouraged for yourself or others! (I encourage you to share this with someone who may need exactly this hope and encouragement!) Love,  Belah PS - You're ready to witness God's transformation like Bill? It's as easy as a phone call to a friend, her name is Dana, and she's our Clarity Advisor. :) delightyourmarriage.com/cc  Sign up for a free Clarity Call to help you sort through the hard and gain insight on next steps... possibly with us to have a transformation like Bill's! PPS - This episode made my husband cry... that doesn't happen often. I hope it is healing to your heart like it was to his.  Quote from a program grad: "I would recommend this program to any husband who feels trapped like I did when I first reached out to Belah. I came into this program looking for someone to 'straighten out my wife.' Truth be told, I needed more help then she did. Belah challenged the narrative in my head. She pushed me to be vulnerable and soft and patient - all things that run counter to our culture. It was not always easy. In fact, it was often very uncomfortable and felt silly. But once I realized it wasn't about me and I committed wholeheartedly, I saw my wife begin to change before my eyes. The changes I made in MYSELF changed my wife. It wasn't always easy and it required more patience than I sometimes had, but in the end it was worth it. Every aspect of my relationship with my wife has improved and that was more than I bargained for. I have a greater understanding of who my wife is and why she is so special to both God and myself. Belah didn't fix my marriage - she did something better. She gave me the tools and the guidance to fix it myself, with God's help. This allows me to continually work on it, improve it, and cherish it after my time [in Delight Your Marriage] is over and for that I will always be thankful."

Real Nightmares - Interview with Vicki Joy Anderson Show NotesSummary: Vicki Joy Anderson is the author of They Only Come Out at Night: Exposing the Dark Weapon of Sleep Paralysis. She attended the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, Minnesota, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in English with a Writing Emphasis, and a major in Bible. Vicki believes that dealing, as she does, with Spiritual Warfare and topics that are on the edges of fringe, it is very important that you know who you are receiving information from, and what their belief system is. On her website vickijoyanderson.com she has listed her education and ministry credentials, as well as her mission trips. Vicki believes she is called to address the sleep paralysis issues that plague so many believers and non-believers alike, shining light in the darkness, providing scriptural tools and weapons to help them break free from the dark ties that bind, and leading the unsaved to Jesus. We welcome Vicki Joy Anderson to Bible Mysteries! This Episode brought to you by: Our Premium Subscribers or “Seekers” James and Joyce M.Bill H.Ray and Dee Ann G.Eduard K.Debra B.Show Notes: Questions for VickiStart by giving us your testimony of salvation. You started having sleep paralysis episodes at the age of three, and these continued as two to three episodes per week for decades. Tell us why you believe these attacks started? What is the short definition of sleep paralysis? You explain that sleep paralysis is dismissed as nightmares by the medical community. What is their resistance to acknowledging the spiritual aspect of these attacks? You suggest we are going to hear more and more discussion about sleep paralysis as UFOs, aliens, and paranormal activity become mainstream. Is this part of the coming deception to lead people astray? You wrote that historically sleep paralysis attacks included visits from dark entities, shadow people, paralyzation, and terror. However, in this new era of paranormal activity and acceptance, SP entities are going to manifest themselves differently. Explain why you mean by this?Christians today are confusing true spiritual encounters with God and spiritual encounters with demonic entities posing as beings of light. Where is this lack of discernment coming from? You mention that children who experience excessive trauma before the age of three are often targets for these attacks, including pediatric medical traumatic stress. Why are these demonic entities drawn to children experiencing trauma? What are the typical “symptoms” oof a SP attack? You describe there categories of attacks: Intruder, Incubus, and Vestibular Motor. Can you detail these for us?Explain to our listeners what astral projection is, and is this occurring during some SP attacks? Many people believe this astral plane is a good thing to experience, and even some argue the Apostle Paul experience this. What is the truth about the astral plane? How does one stop an SP attack while it is occurring? Is it possible to stop SP attacks before they begin?Takeaway:Vicki Joy Anderson's book They Only Come Out at Night exposes the oversimplified disinformation campaign put forth by supposed “experts” in the fields of science and medicine. These experts downgrade sleep paralysis to nothing more than adjuncts of parasomnia and narcolepsy. In reality, SP is a dark weapon used by second-heaven entities, posing as our progenitors, in an attempt to lure us away from the true Messiah and usurp the Kingdom of God.Links:https://www.vickijoyanderson.comlarmarzulli.net/store (this is the only place the book is available) it is NOT on Amazonrealdarknews.com (articles written by...

Dr. Graham is a Harvard-trained researcher and physician. He is board certified in both Internal and Integrative Medicine, trained in Holistic and Functional Medicine. Dr. Graham received a Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health while completing three additional fellowships in General Internal Medicine and Complementary and Integrative Medical Therapies at Harvard Medical School as well as Medical Education at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His clinical research focused on health disparities, integrative therapies including dietary supplements amongst racial and ethnic minorities. He also completed course-work in Mind/Body Medicine, Positive Psychology, Lifestyle Medicine, Culinary Medicine, Botanical and Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2018, Dr. Graham became one of less than twenty doctor/chef's worldwide, as he obtained his culinary degree from the Natural Gourmet Institute. Dr. Graham is a public health scientist, health service researcher, TED speaker, food activist and Chef. Dr. Graham believes medicine needs a FRESH start. Together with his wife, they founded FRESH Medicine and FRESH Med U. FRESH Medicine is an integrative health and wellness center located in NYC. FRESH is an acronym for the five ingredients in their recipe to health: Food, Relaxation, Exercise, Sleep and Happiness. Dr. Graham is the proud son of a farmer and an immigrant born and raised in Jackson Heights in Queens, NYC. A lifelong "food fighter" and a leader in the field of Integrative/Functional and Holistic Medicine he has prescribed “food as medicine” for over 15 years, has taught over 1000 healthcare workers, mostly doctors, how to cook whole food, plant-based meals, and created the first edible rooftop garden on a hospital in NYC. He served as Medical Director of Internal Medicine Primary Care Center, Program Director of Internal Medicine, Director of Integrative Therapies, Head of Employee Wellness for a large healthcare system in New York and provided strategic oversight, direction and leadership across all activities related to the health and wellness, health promotion and disease prevention. When not seeing patients, Dr. Graham trades his white lab coat for chef's whites with the goal of expanding his toolkit both for use as a healthcare provider and as an advocate for a new model of integrative, “food-first” lifestyle-focused healthcare called Culinary Medicine. Dr. Graham serves as the first Chief Health Officer of a food company called Performance Kitchen where he not only advises but also designs medically tailored meals for patients with chronic diseases. This allows doctors to prescribe meals, or “food as medicine” which are covered by Advantage Medicare Plans and hopefully Medicare under Bill H.R.5370 - Medically Tailored Home-Delivered Meals Demonstration Pilot Act. In 2019, he and Julie launched an online self-care "university," called FRESH MED U. FRESH MED U allows people and companies to learn remotely, on their own time, using their intrinsic motivation to achieve their FRESH goals and live healthier and happier lives. They currently consult with multiple Fortune 2000 companies as corporate employee wellness vendors. Lastly, in the fall of 2021, Dr. Graham was asked to be part of NYC Mayor Eric Adams Food Transition team, focusing on institutional foods, a true honor for a native New Yorker.  On this episode, Dr. Graham shares his one way ticket to ancient Greece in the 5th century BCE during the time of Hippocrates, the father of medicine. In the course of our conversation, Dr. Graham shares some of Hippocrates' teaching including "Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food." Dr. Graham also shares his work on FRESH, with NYC Mayor Eric L. Adams, the Aman Hotels, and more. Dr. Robert Graham is just one of the exceptional individuals featured on the podcast where Host Steven Shalowitz explores with his guest where they would go if given a one way ticket, no coming back! Their destinations may be in the past, present, future, real, imaginary or state of mind.  Steven's guests have included: Nobel Peace Prize Winner, President Jose Ramos-Horta; General David H. Petraeus, US Army (Ret.); Legendary Talk Show Host, Dick Cavett; Law Professor, Alan Dershowitz; Fashion Expert, Tim Gunn; Broadcast Legend, Charles Osgood; International Rescue Committee President & CEO, David Miliband; Former United States Senator, Joseph I. Lieberman; Playwright, David Henry Hwang; Journalist-Humorist-Actor, Mo Rocca; SkyBridge Capital Founder & Co-Managing Partner, Anthony Scaramucci; Abercrombie & Kent Founder, Geoffrey Kent; Travel Expert, Pauline Frommer, as well as leading photographers, artists, chefs, writers, intellectuals, etc.

In the first part of this episode we look into the 'conspiracy' involving Ray Epps to see, as we always do, if the 'conspiracy' is an actual conspiracy or if it's indeed true (you'll never guess what we find out!). In the second part of the episode, we cover the most important "Bill" called H.R. 4350, which would allow the military to not only be deployed against "domestic extremists" but it would also REMOVE congressional oversight and put control solely in the hands of the President. That is a Dictatorship. Since I started this podcast, this is by far the most important part of any episode I have ever done. It is the last play the Globalist Regime can do to gain FULL control over the people. The weaponization of the military against its OWN people. Yes, this is real. Since the huge voter turnout in 2020, many states are making it harder to vote: Dozens of new laws restrict who can vote; and how, when and where they can do it. University of Baltimore law professor Gilda Daniels, author of Uncounted: The Crisis of Voter Suppression in America, says she's not surprised.  “It is consistent with history. Which is that we have these cycles of progress, and they are met with these almost violent attempts of regression in regards to the right to vote.”  The odds are slim the Senate will pass the proposals it's debating to set national standards for elections. But Maryland Congressman John Sarbanes, sponsor of a bill at the center of the fight, says he still hopes the debate will impel a couple colleagues to move to his side.  Links: Brennan Center for Justice Voting Laws Roundup, Bill H.R. 1 Freedom to Vote,Maryland Voter Registration. Tonight I had the pleasure of speaking with Teasel Muir-Harmony, curator of the Project Apollo collection at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, about the history of the Apollo missions and the role politics has had in setting space policy. In her new book, “OPERATION MOONGLOW: A Political History of Project Apollo,” Teasel explores how and why the moon landing became one of the most decisive geopolitical events of the 20th century. In the wake of the Soviet Union's pioneering launch of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin in 1961, and a humiliating defeat at the Bay of Pigs days later, President John F. Kennedy proposed Project Apollo as a solution to restoring America's tarnished geopolitical standing. With Cold War tensions between the Soviet Union and the United States approaching an all-time high, Kennedy argued that ramping up the space program would inspire global confidence in American excellence -- and might even persuade people in developing countries to pick American “freedom” over Soviet “tyranny.”In addition to her duties at the Smithsonian, Teasel teaches at Georgetown University. She is the author of "Apollo to the Moon: A History in 50 Objects" and is also a contributor to the television series Apollo's Moon Shot. She lives in Washington, DC.To learn more about OPERATION MOONGLOW, including how to can get your copy, visit https://www.basicbooks.com/titles/teasel-muir-harmony/operation-moonglow/9781541699878/You can follow Teasel on Twitter (https://twitter.com/teaselmuir).Join the show recording every Thursday at 8pm ET by leaving a voicemail at www.SpaceRadioShow.com.Support the show on Patreon.Follow on Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube.Justin G, Matthew K, Chris L, Barbara K, Duncan M, Corey D, Justin Z, Neuterdude, Nate H, Andrew F, Naila, Aaron S, Scott M, Rob H, David B, Frank T, Tim R, Alex P, Tom Van S, Mark R, Alan B, Craig B, Richard K, Steve P, Dave L, Chuck C, Stephen M, Maureen R, Stace J, Neil P, lothian53, COTFM, Stephen S, Ken L, Debra S, Alberto M, Matt C, Ron S, Joe R, Jeremy K, David P, Norm Z, Ulfert B, Robert B, Fr. This week I had the privilege of chatting with Dr. Brittany Kamai about her research into how to improve gravitational wave detectors – as well as how we can each generate gravitational waves. We also discussed how she became a driving force behind the #ShutDownSTEM movement. Brittany is Native Hawaiian, an astrophysicist, athlete, author, mentor, and advocate for creating a better world. She is on a mission to help enhance our fundamental understanding of the universe and does so by weaving together every aspect of who she is.As an experimentalist, Brittany's research focuses on improving gravitational wave detectors with novel technology ideas. She is advancing studies of seismic and acoustic metamaterials on a path to improve the ground-based detectors, namely LIGO and Cosmic Explorer. With increased sensitivity, we will gather deeper astrophysical observations to enable precision tests of cosmology, General Relativity, and stellar evolution.Brittany cares deeply about how we do science and infuses the aloha spirit into her practice of science. She advocates on national and international advisory boards to build towards a more equitable and inclusive field of astrophysics. She is the co-founder of #ShutDownSTEM and the Society of Indigenous Physicists.Dr. Kamai has received numerous awards during her career including as a National Academy of Sciences' Kavli Frontiers of Science Fellow, Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellow, National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, among many others.Currently, Dr. Kamai is a Heising-Simons Foundation Postdoctoral scholar with a joint appointment between the University of California, Santa Cruz and Caltech.Be sure to follow Brittany on Twitter (@cosmojellyfish) and Instagram (@cosmojellyfish).
