There are SO many myths about this topic alone, we're going to cover a lot of ground on this episode, especially considering 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated, resulting in a foundational root cause for most chronic health disease today! CONSIDER THESE STATS ABOUT TOXIC WATER: The EPA regulates only 9 pollutants generated by chlorine or chloramine treatment - LESS THAN 2% of the more than 600 unwanted chemicals created by the interaction of water treatment disinfectants and pollutants in source water. Over 1/3 of ‘bottled water' is actually tap water. The toxins contaminating public drinking water totals over 350,000 human-made chemicals, including: Herbicides Glyphosate (Roundup) and Atrazine, Carcinogen MTBE, Hexavalent Chromium (Chromium-6) the carcinogen otherwise known as the “Erin Brockovich chemical,” chlorine, flouride, heavy metals, radioactive elements and headlines newest ‘Forever Chemicals' like Fluoridated Non Stick PTFE. Additionally, Pharmaceutical Drugs such as pain relievers, cancer drugs, antidepressants, oral contraceptives, blood pressure and cholesterol drugs. No research has been conducted on whether or not Covid shot poisons are being filtered out of municipal water. Forever Chemicals are found in 98% of humans tested, and the main source exposure is…your water! My top favorite solution expert to these scary stats, Courtney Lawyer joins us to answer the most common questions I get related to water purification: What's the difference between Distilled, Reverse Osmosis and Alkaline water? ‘Watch the Water' documentary? Truth or Myth? What health conditions has distilled water been known to help relieve? (Hint: high blood pressure, arthritis, gall stones, kidney disease, Lyme, Osteoporosis, water retention and more that will blow your mind) What types of toxins and / or pathogens will Distilled water filter out and how does this compare to other water systems? Let's talk ‘water systems'. Today there's a lot of filtration systems like the Berkey, Pur, Brita, fridge filters - are they enough? What's Ph got to do with it? Fancy new water systems…Deuterium, Hydrogen, Crystalized, are they worth it? The bottled water HOAX. On average, bottled water costs about $3.79 per gallon – close to the average cost of gasoline. Municipal water, meanwhile, costs less than one cent per gallon. I'm going to share with you the most inexpensive way to filter the healthiest water, saving you money AND the symptoms you may have not been successful at eliminating, despite several attempts. We will specifically focus on the most urgent and imperative action steps Dr Kazer advises ALL Americans and all humans to work on a Total Body Transformation approach to Cleanse your Body, Heal the Root Cause and Ignite your Sovereignty from symptoms, sickness and suffering. In this episode, I'm going to share with you an incredible exercise that I have used time and time again to heal my deep-seated, hard to get at, inner-child wounds. You don't have to have come from a dysfunctional family, or have had a super dark childhood to have these kinds of wounds. If you're human, you have feelings. And when you're a child, your feelings are sensitive, vulnerable, and exposed. And sometimes, they get hurt. So, this topic truly applies to everyone. Again, as long as you're a human being, you're probably going to get something out of this!I'm not a doctor or an expert and I don't claim to be. I'm a human being with life experiences, and this is my own wisdom that I am sharing with you. I'm going to aim to give you powerful, anecdotal information from my personal experiences with healing my wounded inner child. And you can decide from there whether or not you want to give this a try .Also mentioned in this episode: The Luminous Void Goddess Power Oracle Deck “Is Your Childhood Self Running Your Life?”Visit The Goddess Attainable Blog here: https://thegoddessattainable.com/.Music: "Crystalized" by Luna WaveSupport the show

I share about my years of experience with vision boarding and elaborate on some of my success stories with vision boards and manifestation. This can be a powerful tool to bring your dreams into reality.I'll start off by saying that from my experience, no, it's not pointless, and yes, it does work. But, take it with a grain of salt, and know that it's not the end-all-be-all of manifestation. But it's an awesome part of the process and it's one of the many helpful tools.Manifestation is also done 95% internally. So, consider vision boarding part of the 5% of external actions that you can take towards manifesting your dreams. Also, we're manifesting all of the time, whether we realize it or not. We bring things into our experience all of the time, and we keep things out of our experience all of the time. That's all manifestation really is. But, you can learn to get really good at being much more deliberate about the way you manifest things into your life. From my experience, there are two kinds of vision boards. There is the “brainstorming” kind and the “honing in on the details” kind. And each kind of vision board is used in a different way, for different times in your life. It's best to use magazine clippings for the much more free-flowing “brainstorming” vision board. And I often use images from the internet when I am much clearer about what I'm looking for, when I'm making a “honing in on the details” vision board. In this episode, I describe two of my most recent vision boards and share the details of how they both came true, virtually image for image! Also mentioned in this episode:Hot Air Ballooning on The Edge, Part IHot Air Ballooning on the Edge, Part IIHow Blogging Changed My LifeAndBloomVisit The Goddess Attainable Blog here: https://thegoddessattainable.com/.Music: "Crystalized" by Luna WaveSupport the show

Today is going to be all about honey. How sweet is that? Honey is a yummy treat that has lots of health benefits. But what is it really? And how is it made? What’s the best way to store it and how long will it last? All of these questions and more will be answered in today’s podcast. I want to take a minute and say welcome to all the new listeners and, as always, welcome back all of you who are veteran homestead-loving regulars stopping by the FarmCast for every single episode. I appreciate you all so much. We have lots to talk about regarding the goings on around the homestead. Our Virginia Homestead Life Updates Let’s start with the cows. I love our cows so much. They are definitely my favorite. Well, I love those lambs too. And the goats. And the quail. And what about the donkeys? Okay, I can’t decide on a favorite. Cows We tried again to put the milking moms in with the rest of the herd and the other three nursing calves. There is a video up on our Facebook page of Princess following Rosie around. And as you can imagine, Rosie came up short a couple of gallons of milk this morning. Well, it was worth a try anyway. Princess is a very resourceful young lady and will latch on anywhere that anyone will let her. Violet is “bagging up”. That means she is approaching her delivery. We now have her in with the Rosie and Butter. They come up every day, twice a day so we can check on her more often. The rest of the crowd will come up once a day. They are getting retrained for the upcoming AI procedures. There are three. There is a hormonal implant that is done a week ahead. Then there is a hormone shot three days ahead. And then the AI implantation takes place. After all of that, we wait for three weeks to see if they come into heat again. If so, we try the implant once again. And that circle of life is continued. This will be our second year of using artificial insemination. I hope it goes better this year. I expect it will. Experience always makes things go easier. Violet will be the only one not involved in this first round of AI as she will either not have delivered yet or will have freshened only a day or so ahead of all the prep. She will need six weeks before she is ready to start her next calf. Sheep We lost yet another sheep, this time to a rogue dog, or so the tracks would indicate. They were much too large for a coyote. I say it was a rogue dog because we never saw another indication that it was still in the area. There was a very large lost dog that was listed on our county Facebook page the very next day. Are they connected? We will never know. The losses are devastating but we keep moving. We continue to search for a livestock guardian dog and pray the right one comes along soon. Garden Scott is out in the garden today putting in a whole lot of plant starts. We have been so busy with other things that the garden tasks have just been pushed back and pushed back and pushed back some more. He is out there trying to get us caught up. What a wonderful man he is as he picks up the slack that I’m leaving out there. I sprained my hand last week and it will hurt like crazy if I work it too hard. Scott has been doing lots of things to help me out. The garden work is only one of them. Culinary Herbs I have two perennial herbs that are going in between the sections of the strawberry patch. I already have oregano and thyme out there. Today Scott is adding the rosemary and garden sage. Other herbs plants he hopes to get in the ground are the parsley and basil. I’m raising those as annuals. Perhaps when I have an official herb garden I will plant some that will reseed each year. We shall see. Peppers On the vegetable front. He has two flats of peppers that will fill another two raised beds. It’s a lot to accomplish in one day. Will he reach his goal? We shall see. Whatever he gets done is so appreciated. The peppers are those lovely California Wonder bell peppers and pepperoncini. I’m going to pickle some this year. Look for those at the farmer’s market this fall. Tomatoes One other garden topic is the tomatoes. I only have two flats of tomatoes left. I’m taking them to the farmer’s market this weekend. Whatever is left will be planted just behind the shelling peas along the orchard wall. Scott put up a fence for a trellis there. It is working great for the peas right now. And as they come out in the next few weeks, the tomatoes will pick up where they left off. Still to come are the beans and crowder peas. It is so much all at once and then the maintenance of fertilizer and water is all that is needed. We already have some compost tea brewing in a couple of 55-gallon barrels. We have plenty of poo that Scott gathered and put in there, then filled the barrels with water so the tea can brew. It’s a great fertilizer. Creamery With all that garden stuff going on, what is happening with the creamery. The answer there is “nothing”. We are still waiting on the guys who will build and install the milking stanchion setup. We have now decided to add the other option that was offered to us a few weeks ago. To recap, the quote for the stainless-steel overhead complete pipeline system was way outside of our budget. We nixed that and asked for just the milking stanchion setup. They quoted us that and then added that instead of the complete pipeline system, they could hook up our vacuum pump so we could milk into buckets and then pour them into the bulk holding tank. I kind of balked at that as well. The price quote was certainly within reason and we could swing it financially, but I didn’t see the real benefit. Now comes the part about how I injured my hand and how we are likely going to get that vacuum pump working. Broken Equipment I didn’t see the benefit because we already have the portable milkers that pump the milk into a can. It’s on wheels and easy to move from cow to cow. We can do two at a time. It really works well for us. Why change? Well, because it can fail quite easily. One evening during cleanup after milking, the cover over the vacuum tank on that little machine suddenly collapsed and was sucked into the vacuum drum. Scott and a family friend worked on getting something patched together for the morning milking. They worked well past midnight. In the morning, we tried the newly engineered vacuum tank cover. It failed within a minute or so. Rosie was maybe half way milked out. Butter was not even close. I quickly got together what we needed to hand milk the cows. Butter was done in a little over 20 minutes or so. Then we moved to the really hard one, Rosie. She was already milked out some but there was probably close to a gallon still to go. Rosie’s teats are about as big as my little finger. There is no way to get a good grasp on it. We were getting about a quarter teaspoon with each squirt. I cannot imagine how long it would take to completely milk her out. We finally decided to just let her go and make sure we had a system in place to milk her out in the evening. The Backup Portable Milker One other thing we tried along the way was using the other portable milker that we keep as a backup. It had been so long since we had used it that we didn’t even remember how to set it up correctly. There are lots of hoses that have to be hooked up just so or it simply won’t work. This particular milker needs to be oiled in order to function properly. Here is where I fell. Scott turned it on and the oil shot up out of the top like a geyser, splashing on the roof of the shed and splattering everywhere. I tried to quickly jump out of the way. My foot caught on a piece of wood that we had in the ground from a couple of years ago when we had to tie one of Butter’s legs back so she wouldn’t kick the milking inflations off of her teats. My foot caught and down I went. I fell to the side and landed on the outside of my right arm and hand. Within a few minutes I felt alright. The pain subsided. I continued to do everything I had planned for the day. Basically, that was making cheese. My Fall and Injury Over the next few hours, the pain escalated to the point that I had to get Scott to finish the cheese while I went to the urgent care clinic. No broken bones, but a good sprain in that hand. According to the PA, it was likely my osteoarthritis causing the biggest part of the pain at that moment. He wrapped it up and I kept it wrapped up for a couple of days, but it seems like everything I do involves water. I finally gave up on the wrap and have been using pain to temper my activity. It’s an imperfect method. Usually by the end of the day my hand is throbbing. Today, the swelling is almost gone but it will still be a few more weeks before it is back to normal. Scott is picking up the slack for me. He is always there for me. The bottom line is I can now very clearly see why we might want that vacuum pump hooked up and working, keeping the portable milker as a standby. Experience is a great teacher. And all of that to say that the creamery is currently on pause while Scott does other things and we wait on the milking stanchions and vacuum pump work to be completed. The primer coat of paint is complete and Scott has decided on the wall coloring it will be a color that is between the color of milk and butter. Nearly white, but with some yellow tone. It’s going to be glorious. Okay that went on longer than I anticipated. Let’s get on to the topic of honey. Honey We have had one single beehive in the corner of the orchard for several years. We have never worked this hive. The bees fended for themselves. We never took their honey. They kept it all. This likely would have continued for another few years except that our bees did not survive this past winter. I asked one of the guys that sell honey at the farmer’s market what might have happened. He said that they also lost more than usual. If the bees unclump because it gets warm and then it gets cold again, they will freeze. They clump together over the winter and keep the queen bee in the center of the clump so she is warm. Throughout the winter more and more bees on the outside will die. The rest keep going and going, keeping that queen safe and warm. Again, if they unclump too early, the cold can kill them. We did have lots of warm and then freezing weather right behind it. Once the weather got warm for a longer period of time, all sorts of bees came around that now unprotected hive to steal the honey. An active hive will have an army of bees that protect the entrance from just this sort of activity. Any bee will steal honey that they find undefended. It was an angry mob out there. Scott waited until it got dark and the bees went home. Then he pulled off the top three boxes, or supers, full of honey. We kept the boxes covered in a plastic garbage bag inside and away from the robber bees. Another one of those tasks that got pushed back and pushed back and pushed back, Scott started working on getting the honey out of the comb just a few days ago. We have the honey extracted and will begin seeing what we can do about preserving the wax in the next couple of days. So, we have lots of honey now, perhaps five gallons or so. What will we do with all of that? Let’s talk about honey. What is honey How about a few trivia facts to get started? The honey itself is produced from flower nectar or from honeydew secreted from other insects. The bees eat the nectar or honeydew, add some of their stomach enzymes and then regurgitate the result. It goes into the wax structure or honeycomb where they proceed to fan it with their wings causing the water to evaporate. So what makes it sweet? Whenever you see that O S E on the end of a word, “ose,” it means a type of sugar. Honey gets its sweetness from fructose and glucose. Honey has about the same relative sweetness as sucrose which is table sugar. Those of you counting calories will want to know that one tablespoon of honey is about 46 calories. Honey use and production have a long and varied history. There are cave paintings in Cuevas de la Arana in Spain that depict humans foraging for honey. These paintings were done at least 8,000 years ago. Large-scale meliponiculture has been practiced by the Mayans since pre-Columbian times. Meliponiculure beekeeping of stingless bees. Stingless bees are meliponines. They actually have stingers but they are small and not used for defense. There are other types of stingless bees and they can have painful and powerful bites. Global production of honey in 2019 was 1.9 million tons. The leading producers are China (with 24% of the total), Turkey, Canada, Argentina, and Iran. How is Honey Made I’ll expand a little on how it is made. There is more to it than eating pollen, regurgitating and drying it. It all starts with the queen. Each hive must have a queen. She keeps the hive functioning. There can be only one. The Queen When the hive gets too large, the queen will begin laying queen cells. Nurse bees take care of this cell by feeding the queen cells nothing but royal jelly. Other eggs only get royal jelly for the first few days. Once the new queen hatches, the older queen leaves with a small swarm so the new, younger, stronger, queen does not kill her. If multiple queen cells hatch at once, they will fight to the death. There can be only one. The Mating Flight Now that the new queen is hatched, it is her job to lay eggs and keep the hive thriving. Of course, that means she has to mate before laying eggs. This is where the worker bees and drones come in. The worker bees mainly lay drone eggs. The drones are the male bees. The virgin queen bee will only mate once in her lifetime. These drone bees wait their entire life for the chance to mate with the queen. After that they are just another mouth to feed. The queen flies high into the sky. The drone bees are hanging out waiting for their opportunity. The strongest and genetically best drones will make their way to the queen. It’s a short life though. The drone’s genitalia will be ripped free after mating leaving a hole that will ultimately lead to his death. It’s a short life filled with purpose. His life mission to continue his DNA is completed and he dies. The queen has a storage sack where the sperm is stored and utilized for the rest of her life. The Queen Lays Eggs The queen now returns to the hive and begins laying eggs. She lays in the cells called brood chambers. Based on the needs of the hive, the queen will determine what type of bee each egg will produce. I mentioned the queen cell earlier. It is peanut shaped. The drones are larger cells, the worker bees are smaller cells. Young worker bees are called nurse bees. They feed all the cells in which she has laid eggs. Bee Employment The bees start out as larvae, they graduate to whatever their job is going to be when they mature. The drones, as mentioned above, hang around and get fed, leaving the hive during the day to hang out with other drones searching for a virgin queen in flight. The worker bees are all female. Some gather the pollen, while others stay in the hive receiving the pollen and other things that are brought to her. The others will also help with making the honey. There are some worker bees that become nurse bees, caring for the eggs and larvae. Some, called attendants, even care for the queen. Most bees live for about two months or less. All of this is happening very quickly. The queen bee’s job is to lay eggs. She will lay around 1,500 eggs per day. And that’s a full-time job. Collecting Pollen The older, scavenger bees will travel within a 5-mile radius of their hive to collect food and pollen using their proboscis like a straw. What they don’t use for their own nourishment in their first stomach goes to their second stomach. This is like a storage pouch for transferring what they collected. They return to the hive. The worker bee in the hive will use their proboscis to suck the nectar and pollen from the scavenger bee’s second stomach. Filling the Honeycomb The worker bees spread what they collected over an empty comb constructed by other worker bees. Once a comb is full, the honey needs to be dehydrated. Pulling the water out of the honey keeps it from spoiling. They dehydrate it by flapping their wings at just the right speed for just the right amount of time. Their instincts tell them when the honey is ready. Capping the Honey Next, the honey is capped. Bees create wax from their abdomen and they layout sheets of it, capping the newly filled comb. This keeps the water out. They eat it in the winter. That’s it. The honey is made. This is where the beekeeper will come in and make the harvest. Again, we have never done this in real time. We only saved what was left when the hive died. That’s yet another learning experience for another day. How is Honey Stored? Honey is a staple in the kitchens of many around the globe. It is a very useful sweetener. It never goes bad and is very easy to store. Even if it starts to crystallize, it can easily be restored. All you need to do is keep it cool and away from direct sunlight. Use a tightly sealed container. Glass or food-safe plastic are the best containers. Honey can oxidize metal. You do not need to refrigerate honey. In fact, it will become really, really thick and harder to use when you need. You end up heating it up a little to return it to liquid. Shelf Life Honey will keep for a very long time. The high concentration of sugars makes it one of the most stable natural foods available. It can have an almost indefinite shelf life if stored properly. You may notice that honey producers put a “best by” date on their products. It’s usually about two years. According to the National Honey Board, this is done for practical purposes because of the variability of honey. However, they do note that honey can be stable for decades and even centuries. Do not be alarmed if your honey becomes cloudy during storage. This is simply the honey crystalizing. It is not an indication of deterioration. Raw honey with high pollen content will crystallize faster than commercially produced honey. Sometimes crystallization is produced on purpose by the beekeeper. Crystalized honey can be easily re-liquified. Place the jar in a pan of hot water. Stir gently while heating. Do not overheat. Excessive heat may alter the flavor if the sugars begin to caramelize. The microwave will get too hot too quickly. Avoid at all costs. Health benefits of Honey There are so many but I am only touching on five today. Raw honey has been used as a folk remedy throughout history. It’s even used in some hospitals as a treatment for wounds. Many benefits are specific to raw, or unpasteurized, honey. Most of the honey you find in your grocery store is pasteurized. The high heat kills unwanted yeast, can improve the color and texture, removes crystallization and extends the shelf life. Unfortunately, many of the beneficial nutrients are also destroyed in the process. Good Source of Antioxidants Some types of honey have as many antioxidants as fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants help to protect your body from cell damage due to free radicals left behind in chemical reactions. Antibacterial and Antifungal Properties Research has shown that raw honey can kill unwanted bacteria and fungus. It naturally contains hydrogen peroxide. Its effectiveness varies but is clearly more than a folk remedy for bacterial and fungal infections. Heal Wounds Manuka honey is used in medical settings to treat wounds because it has been found to be an effective germicide. It also aids in the regeneration of tissue. Honey used in a medical setting is inspected and sterile. Do not treat your cuts with honey from the grocery store. Digestive Issues Honey is sometimes used to treat diarrhea, though there is not much research confirming it. It is proven effective as a treatment for H. pylori, a common cause of stomach ulcers. Honey is also a prebiotic, meaning it nourishes the good bacteria living in your intestines. Soothing a Sore Throat Hot tea with honey and lemon is a very common sore throat remedy. It’s easy to make and tastes good too. It also works as a cough suppressant. One or two teaspoonfuls, straight should do the trick. Are There Any Risks? There is only one risk of which I am aware. Honey should never be given to an infant under one year. I believe it is the danger of clostridium that is the problem there. There is so much more I could share about honey but this podcast has already gone on a bit longer than usual. Final Thoughts That’s if for this this edition of the Peaceful Heart Farmcast. What is the difference between crystals and crystalized intelligence? Surprisingly they are similar in many ways! Crystals are of a solid material, usually quartz, and highly reflective. Crystalized intelligence is the accumulation of facts and knowledge. Both are valuable “gems” and are very desirable! Both crystals and crystalized intelligence are highly reflective. Crystals, as basically a piece of glass, and crystalized intelligence, reflecting years of skills and experience. Halftime is a great time of life to see how your job or skills can be reimagined to create your desired lifestyle. Take the time to really think, journal and affirm what you have gathered, learned and applied throughout your life. You may be surprised at the wealth of reflective skills you already own! In this masterclass, Philip D. Harvey, PhD, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Miami, discusses the relationships between aging, neurocognition, and functional outcomes. And in a new segment from MDedge, called This Week in Psychiatry, we’d like to share a Current Psychiatry evidence-based review on using antidepressants for pediatric patients (PDF) by Jennifer B. Dwyer, MD, PhD, and Michael H. Bloch, MD, MS. Show Notes by Jacqueline Posada, MD, consultation-liaison psychiatry fellow with the Inova Fairfax Hospital/George Washington University program in Falls Church, Va. Introduction to normal aging Changes in cognitive abilities are part of normal aging. Crystalized intelligence, the storage of information learned throughout life, does not change over time in normal, healthy aging. Fluid intelligence, the ability to learn new information, solve problems, concentrate, and rapidly process information, starts changing at age 65 or so. Episodic memory performance, the ability to learn new verbal information, declines 30% between ages 65 to 80, followed by another equivalent decline from ages 80 to 90. Alzheimer’s disease and amnestic mild cognitive impairment are characterized by signature memory loss called rapid forgetting, which occurs in cases in which a person is unable to remember information right after being told. Older people who are self-aware and sensitive to their age-related cognitive changes have a better prognosis. Technology and aging Individuals in their 80s to 90s might have retired before the advent of technological advances such as ATMs, cell phones, the Internet, smartphones, and other touch screen devices. For these individuals, vital aspects of daily living, such as accessing finances online, requires using Internet navigation skills, and those skills were not acquired at a younger age. A direct connection exists between cognitive abilities and learning how to use technology for the first time. Healthy older people will be challenged by new technology the first time because of their lack of exposure. Yet, their ability to learn how to use technology is comparable to that of younger people. Embracing technology to prevent normative cognitive decline The ACTIVE study, sponsored by the National Institute on Aging, enrolled 2,800 older healthy adults, with a mean age of 75, to evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive interventions in maintaining cognitive health and functional independence in older adults. Participants were randomized to either computerized speed training, memory training, problem solving training, or psychosocial intervention. The computerized speed training produced the most significant benefit in cognitive functioning. Participants randomized to computerized speed training sustained their functioning of instrumental daily activities of living and had a 50% lower rate of at-fault motor vehicle collisions, compared with controls, over a 6-year follow-up period. The ACTIVE study results suggest that age-related changes might be reversible with 14 1-hour sessions of brain training. Normative age-related cognitive decline can be attenuated through the use of affordable, accessible technology. In summary, not all age-related cognitive complaints are pathological Clinicians must ask specifically about memory loss and rapid forgetting of information to differentiate normative age-related changes from Alzheimer’s dementia. Patients should be empowered to use technology to intervene for their cognition. Both brain and physical fitness are paramount to preventing dementia. Physical fitness is essential to prevention, because chronic illnesses such as type 2 diabetes are primary risk factors for dementia, and being overweight in middle age is a major predictor for developing type 2 diabetes. Physical exercise, brain exercise, and embracing technology are essential to preventing social isolation and subsequent dementia. References Antidepressants for pediatric patients by Jennifer B. During my live on stage Q&A, I did not expect her to say this… On today’s episode Russell shares an interview he did with Lindsey Stirling at Funnel Hacking Live 2019 and talks about what some of the things she said were and why he wasn’t expecting it. Here are some of the amazing things you will hear in this episode: Why Lindsey thought that America’s Got Talent was right about her not being good enough. Find out what Lindsey’s book is about, and how it follows a theme of her life. And see why Lindsey is also involved in Operation Underground Railroad. So listen here to find out how Lindsey Stirling got started, and how her story is similar to that of an entrepreneur. ---Transcript--- What’s up everybody? This is Russell Brunson, welcome back to the Marketing Secrets podcast. I hope you loved the last episode where I had, let you guys in behind the scenes to hear Lindsey Stirling at Funnel Hacking Live share some amazing wisdom and ideas and thoughts. And I’m even more excited, if that’s possible, for today’s episode. Because after we queue up the theme song and come back, I’m going to let you guys listen in behind the scenes of the live Q&A I did with her afterwards on stage. We go over a lot of cool things in there and I think you’re going to love it. But the one thing that impressed me most, I want to kind of put it from my perspective, so that when you hear it’ll hopefully have the same impact on you that it had on me. But I do know that before we brought her onstage, I knew that she was on America’s Got Talent, and I do know that she made it through a couple of rounds and then they kicked her off and said she wasn’t good enough. So I specifically I wanted to ask her that question and find out, “What did you feel? What was going on in your mind?” And what I assumed she was going to say was, “Oh yeah, they screwed me. Blah, blah, blah, whatever.” Or “They kicked me off. They didn’t know who I was and I was going to prove them all wrong.” That’s what I assumed she was going to say when she responded back to that answer. But instead what she said was so different and so much better and so much more powerful. What she said afterwards was she got off the show and she went home and she looked at herself and she realized that they were right, she wasn’t good enough yet. So because of that she went back and started practicing and working hard until she became good enough, until she became the Lindsey Stirling we had a chance to experience at Funnel Hacking Live. Such a powerful thing. I thought the message of “Screw you, I’m going to work harder anyway.” would have been powerful, but the message she left instead was a thousand times more powerful. And a lot of times the market tells us no and we have to look at ourselves and say, “You know what, the market is right sometimes. And instead of me fighting it, I’m going to go and I’m going to become good enough.” Such a powerful thing. Anyway, this interview is amazing. It’s not super long, I’ve never interviewed someone on stage before. I’m not going to lie, I was a little bit nervous. It’s only about ten minutes long, but I hope you get a lot of value out of it. Once again, if you guys can go to a Lindsey Stirling concert, support her, she’s amazing. And she was such a huge addition to this year’s Funnel Hacking Live. Alright let’s queue up the theme song and when we come back we’ll jump right into my live Q&A with Lindsey Stirling. Was that amazing or what? Lindsey: Thank you. Russell: What an awesome way to end out this extraordinary last four days together. It’s fun because we were planning, as soon as Funnel Hacking Live ends we start thinking, “What’s the plans for next year?” We were just talking about this and I was like, ‘Man, I want something to end where we can just leave on cloud 9 and everyone’s got the energy and everything. We should have a concert.” And then we’re like, “We’ve never done that before. We don’t know how that even works.” And then, {inaudible} talking, but before. We started talking about different names, who would be possible and then we said your name and everyone on my team was like, “If Lindsey Stirling could come, that would be the most amazing thing ever.’ And you guys just experienced it. Was that the most amazing thing ever? It’s so great. Lindsey: Thank you. Thanks for having us. You guys are amazing, as I’ve said. Thank you so much for your energy and it sounds like it’s been an amazing week. Russell: It’s been a lot of fun. Well, cool. I wanted to take a few minutes just to interview her because we were actually going to try and do this earlier today, but we ran out of time. So I wanted to do this just partially because I want you guys to connect with her more, and be able to follow her more, and I’m going to talk a little about that towards the end, but also so everyone understands some of her journey. Because some of her journey, I think, is very similar to a lot of your guys’ journeys as well. So I think my first question is, where did you come up with such a unique thing? There’s people who do violins, people who do dance but I’ve never heard of anyone besides you who did both. How did you come up with that? Lindsey: You know I, well a funny fact I guess about me is, a lot of people ask me, ‘what came first, the violin or the dancing?’ And the thing is I’ve played the violin my whole life. It started when I was 6. I did not start dancing until I was 23 years old, and I’m a self taught dancer. So it’s very ironic that I’ve always loved dance and I thought it was such a beautiful art form, and I wanted to make my performance as a violinist more engaging than just, I always felt so stiff. So I really started working on incorporating movement into my performances. But you know, the funny thing was is that I had this vision of being a dancing violinist, and I couldn’t dance. And I think it’s so important whenever you are starting out on a venture or a journey whether it’s an artistic one or a business one, there are things that you’re going to be like, “But I don’t know how to do that. How could I possibly be a dancing violinist if I don’t know how to dance?” Well, I started step by step by step in a very literal sense, teaching myself very simple choreography that just started with like a look and a wink and a little shoulder. You know, just very minimal movements, and now I can literally do backbends while I play. I can spin, I can learn choreography and it all was just step by step and because I had such a clear vision and I was so determined. You know, sometimes the less you know in a way, the better it is. I don’t think I realized how difficult it would be, so I naively just went into it with everything I had and worked tirelessly until I could do it. Russell: That’s amazing. Very cool. So my next question is, before Crystalized blew up for you and you’re going through I’m sure practicing and doing things and videos and all sorts of stuff, and things weren’t blowing up for you, first off how long was that period of time for you? And second off, what was it that kept you going, like moving forward during that time as opposed to just throwing it in and walking away from it all? Lindsey: Yeah, I probably started to pursue and write my own music and make this art of dancing and playing and I probably worked at that for 2 years before I even discovered YouTube. And during that time I had some, I had a lot of times I kind of fell on my face, sometimes literally, sometimes more figuratively speaking. One of which was extremely public, it was in front of millions of people on America’s Got Talent. I was, my little artistic heart was absolutely broken on that show. I felt like my spirit was just broken at what I thought was going, I thought this was going to be the biggest moment of my life and what changed everything. And I ended up getting absolutely publicly humiliated and told in front millions of people on live tv that I sounded like strangled rats when I played the violin. I was told I didn’t have what it took and I should try something else, I would never make it. And that was one of the hardest things to get over because I was literally terrified to step on a stage again after that. I was like, “I just don’t know if I can face that kind of humiliation.” It was in the back of my mind every time I would go to step on a stage, “I am probably going to fail.” But I took a little break from it just to re-gather my confidence again and to work on my craft. And I realized, I think the most important thing about that story, which took me years to realize, is that they told me, “You’re not good enough.” And people now always are like, “Oh America’s Got Talent, they were so wrong about you. They missed this diamond in the rough.” And looking back on it, no, they actually were right. I wasn’t good enough, but the most important word was left out and it said, “I wasn’t good enough yet.” I had literally just invented this idea of dancing and playing a violin and I hadn’t put in the time yet. I wasn’t good enough. But I just began, once I realized that I’m just not good enough yet, I worked for the next year and a half honing my craft and getting good enough so that no one would ever be able to say that again, and it wouldn’t be true. And I also think there’s this inner gut that guides you, and sometimes you get to a point, and I’ve done this in different ventures, where I realize this isn’t a path that I should pursue anymore. I think this door is closed and it’s time to go to a different one. But this door, I knew that it would open. I just felt it. And it was, I just need to keep going, because that inner compass will never lead you astray. And to me, that’s God. You can call it whatever you want, whether it’s the universe talking to you and guiding you, but I do believe there is something so much greater than ourselves that guides us and gives us inspiration and gives us that courage to press forward. I’m spinning. Russell: I know, me too. They’re all spinning up here. So for those who want to know more about you, I know in fact, my mom’s down here, my mom in the middle, she’s like, ‘Have you read her book yet?” Will you tell everyone about your book, so if people want to learn more about you and your life and everything. I’d love for you to tell them about that and have them all go buy the book tonight. Lindsey: There you go. My book is called The Only Pirate at the Party. It’s very thematic of a theme in my life, where it’s based off a true story where I went to a birthday party that when I first moved to LA, and it was a Peter Pan themed birthday party and I was really excited. And I was like, “Oh my gosh, I have a pirate costume. This is perfect. I’m going to make so many friends.” And it was that mean girls moment where I walk into the party and it was a regular party. Nobody was dressed up and I was a full blown pirate. And I was like, I had the hat, I had a tin foil hook I made so I was Captain Hook. And there was like a Tinkerbell cake, and that was the only thing that let you know maybe this was a themed party. And I remember there was that moment of like, no one’s really seen me yet. No one really knows me, I could get in my car and go home and no one’s the wiser, or I could just own it and go into the freaking party and try to make some friends. And I decided to go in and make some friends, and kind of laugh about my, and I met a lot of people because I was the only pirate at the party. But it was such a like, you know what, this seems like it’s a little bit of a theme of my life and that’s why the book has all these stories. It’s not like any of us walk through life trying to be like, ‘I’m different. I’m the only pirate.” You know, but I think we’re all different. We are all so unique and those are the things that make us wonderful, they’re the things to be celebrated. The joys, the hardships and it all leads into our story. So that’s what my book talks about. It talks about my experiences going through an eating disorder and depression and America’s Got Talent and all these times when I hit the bottom. And through my own gifts and uniqueness decided it’s time to get back up again. Russell: Awesome. Everyone go on Amazon and get that today. Alright, so my last question for you is revolving around Operation Underground Railroad. So I know you’ve been involved for a long time with them as well, and you had a chance to watch the documentary. So last year, at this event in Orlando was the first time we introduced this world to Tim Ballard and Operation Underground Railroad. We watched the first documentary, we raised just over a million dollars during that event, which is insane and amazing. And then Tim actually flew from our event to Haiti to pick up his kids and then flew back, which was so cool. So I know you’ve been involved with them for a long time, but I’d love to hear some of your thoughts about what they’re doing and the importance of it and kind of how you’re getting involved now as well. Lindsey: You know, I don’t, like I get chills just thinking about it. The documentary was so, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. It’s I think what they are fighting is the greatest evil that could possibly happen. It’s the greatest evil, it’s the plague of our time. And I don’t think there is anything that is more important than freeing people from slavery. And Tim’s book is amazing. Slave Stealer’s if you haven’t read it, it’s on audible, you can listen to it as you drive around. But it’s so, you know I’ve written a lot of music based off of my experience of going through anorexia and depression and I do a lot of these metaphorical images and music videos about being trapped. And they were to represent a time when I was literally trapped like a prisoner inside my own mind, and that was really, really hard. But it just makes me think like my next mission, I’ve told that story now, my next mission is to talk about how people can literally be trapped by somebody else. And you know what, I think the greatest thing about having a voice and having success is that then you get to pick, you get to tell your story, through my book, through my music, through my art, but then I also get the opportunity to help other people tell their stories. And each one of you, as you grow your business and your brands and whatever it is, this is giving you not only a platform for the things you’re passionate about, and the things you work so hard for, but it’s giving you a platform to share whatever message you are passionate about. And I’m super passionate about Operation Underground Railroad. I’m so excited, I was so excited to hear that they were a part of this event and that you guys support them. Anyways, I can’t think of a greater cause. Russell: Awesome. Thank you.
Changing The World – Behind the scenes of the last day, the Lindsey Stirling concert, and so much more. On today’s episode Russell recaps day four of Funnel Hacking Live 2019. Here are some of the amazing things you will hear in this episode: Find out why Garrett White bringing an audience member onstage and getting him to purchase the Two Comma Club coaching program caused some controversy. Hear what Russell’s favorite part of having Lindsey Sterling at Funnel Hacking Live was. And hear Russell gush over how appreciative he is of everyone involved in this year’s event. So listen here to find out how the final day of Funnel Hacking Live 2019 went. ---Transcript--- What’s up everybody? Alright, welcome to day number 4 of 4 of the Funnel Hacking Live recap. Man it’s like, as I’m going through these again and reliving all the moments, it’s just like I’m putting myself in the room and experiencing the feelings and the excitement and the energy and I miss it, it’s crazy. So for those of you guys who were there, you know that you experienced it and I hope you guys come back in next year so we can serve you again. It’s crazy, I had so many people come to me and tell me, “I’ve been to so many Funnel Hacking Lives and so many other events and this was by far, not just the best Funnel Hacking Live, but the best event. I’ve ever been to.” Which meant a lot. And I even had, it’s interesting because one of the early, early, Brian Bowman, one of the early members in our community, he voxed me and said, ‘It’s interesting, I’ve been in your community a long time and we were coming to the events when there was 600 people, then a thousand, and a lot of times as things get bigger the people who have been around a long time get kind of pushed out. They miss that special thing. I don’t know how you did it, even with 4500 people there, we all still felt special.” Even for the people who have been around a long time, it was still amazing. It was the best one yet. So that meant a lot to me. So we try to keep it cool. It’s interesting because my vision for Funnel Hacking Live before going to the 10x event was like we should have 35,000 people in the stadium, and now that I’ve done that and it was not as intimate, it was harder to connect and communicate, we decided to keep it smaller. So as I told you before, we’re returning, we’re going back to Nashville next year, in the same room, same ballroom, same stage. I want people to, I told people after the Two Comma Club presentation, “This is the same stage, the literal stage you’ll be standing on next year if you get your Two Comma Club award. Look at that, this is your spot.” So that was kind of cool. But we’re in the same spot so that means, I think we get 5000, it’s like the Fire Marshall limit in the room. So we could have an extra 500 people from this year, but not much more. So we sold out every year in the past, we’ll sell out again this year. We are less than a year away from it already, so if you don’t have your tickets I’d highly recommend that you go. So go to funnelhackinglive.com and get them. Prices will be raising soon, other stuff will be happening. But I would get your tickets now, make that commitment right now while you’re remembering what it’s like to be there, or while you’re going through these recaps and realizing you missed it. Make that commitment now to go and do it, get your ticket at funnelhackinglive.com. Alright, with that said, we’re going to queue up the theme song and I’m going to talk you guys through what happened with day number four. Alright, so day number 4. This is the day where my stress starts going down. My stress is the biggest because obviously I love giving the presentations, it’s so much fun, but the stressful one’s when I sell. And we only sell two things at Funnel Hacking Live, number one, well we sold the Traffic Secrets Software, but we sold it for free, so that was fun. And then we have the donation for charity, so there’s the charity then. We try to get people to upgrade to Actionetics MD, so just, half the room already has it, so they get the stuff for free anyway. Then the other one is the coaching program. It’s interesting, I used to go to events back in the day and every speaker would sell something and you get 50 pitches. Same thing at 10x, every speaker sold something just like that. Where here it’s like, there really is only one sell, all the other ones are just like little. But the real sell is the coaching program and it’s something I believe so much in and I’ve spent so much time and energy and money to make it amazing. And it’s like, I think I get nervous because I know if people go through this they’re going to be successful, but how do I convince them of that? So I try to do everything in my power to give a presentation and make an offer that’s so irresistible that people will take me up on it. And it’s interesting, I did this whole part of my presentation during the secrets of the two comma club presentation I did yesterday. I talked about the difference between being resourceful and having resources. I told the story of Kenneth Cole. And I may have told you guys the story before, but it’s worth repeating. But Kenneth Cole, you guys know Kenneth Cole, the shoe company right. When he was starting this shoe company, I think he was in New York and there was a big shoe show happening, shoe show, is that how you say it? Shoe trade show was happening so he went to go get a booth and they told him the cost of the booth and he couldn’t afford it. And most people would have stopped right there, and this is the lesson I want you guys to understand, most people would have stopped right there. But Kenneth Cole said, “I don’t have the resources, I need to be resourceful.” So he said, “How about instead of buying a booth I rented a truck and put it out in front of the venue, and I have all my shoes in there and then everyone will see it as I’m coming through. That’s a good idea.” So he goes to rent a truck, like a big, huge truck, and the truck people are like, “They’re not going to let you park it there.” and he’s like, “Well why not.” And they’re like, “Well you have to have a permit to be able to park a truck in front of a big building during a convention.” And he’s like, “Oh.” And again, most people would have stopped there. Like, I don’t have the resources to get a permit. But instead he was like, “How do I do that.” And he ran over to the state, the government and said, “Hey I need to get a permit to park my van in front of this shoe show.” Shoe show is a tongue twister. Anyway, they’re like, “Dude, we’re not giving you a permit.” He’s like, “Why not?” and they’re like, “Only two people get a permit. The first person is construction, if you’re building something you can get a permit. Or second is if you’re making a movie.” And again, most people would have been like, “okay, I guess I’m not building something, I’m not making a movie. I’m done.” But Kenneth Cole again, he didn’t have the resources so he had to be resourceful. So he went back and went to the city, filed a business license and called his company name, Kenneth Cole Productions, went across to stores like Kinko’s or whatever, Fedex, Kinko’s and got business cards printed that said Kenneth Cole productions, walked back to the place where he gets a permit and said, “Hey, my name is Kenneth Cole, I’m filing a permit, I’m making a movie called the Making Of A Shoe, and I need this permit for my truck.” And they granted him the permit, he got the truck, parked the truck in front of the shoe show, didn’t have money for an actual video camera, so he had a bunch of people with camera’s with no tape in it, walking around pretend filming him. And it had the big thing like, “We’re making a movie called the Birth of a Shoe Company.” And every single person that went to the shoe show that weekend, the trade show, walked past his truck out front and that’s how he built his huge company, which is a huge company to this day. And in fact, to this day his company is still called Kenneth Cole Productions and he said the reason why is because it’s a tribute in his ability to focus on being resourceful as opposed to having resources. So I understand that signing up for a coaching program it’s, “I don’t have the resources, I don’t have the money.” Yet, I’ve tried to like, how do I break that belief? Because I didn’t have money when I joined my coaching programs, most people don’t. But that’s also the reason why I had success because I didn’t have the money. So I went into debt, and now I had this pressure, I had these things, I had to figure things out. It forced me to do things. So I tell those stories in a way to break false beliefs. And a lot of people, that breaks false beliefs, but some people for some reason they don’t listen, they don’t hear with the right ears and they don’t sign up. In my mind I’m like, “Of the 4500 people we should have had 4000 that joined the program, it just makes logical sense. Why wouldn’t you at this point?” But obviously that doesn’t happen ever. So that’s kind of why I stressed out over day three. So day number four I have less stress because I’ve done my sales pitch, it’s done, people that are in are in and I can kind of relax. So we moved into Saturday. And what’s interesting, Saturday starts happening and the very first person to speak is Garrett White and the presentation was going to be called the Gap, right. There’s a gap between where you are and where you want to go and how you fill that up. And he started doing his presentation and in true Garrett White fashion, he is so intense. I love him, and he swears a lot and I don’t swear, I’m not a big fan of swearing, but I believe in him and I believe in his mission. I think he does it with a pure heart even if the words aren’t pure, if that makes sense. Anyway, it’s funny because my mom was there and she like, I was like, “Mom, do not come to this session, whatever you do.” And I warned everyone, “If you’re offended by the f-word please don’t come.” In fact, I even tried to bribe Garrett. I told him I’d wear a custom suit to his next event if he didn’t drop the f-word. He lasted like a minute thirty. And then he’s like, “Ah, fine Russell. You can wear shorts if you want. I can’t not swear.” But he did his presentation and halfway through the presentation this kid comes up named Andy. Andy comes up and just like, “I need to talk to everyone.” Or something, I don’t know the whole situation. And Garrett could have just had him sit back down, but instead he’s like, he took this moment and he’s like okay. And he brings this kid up. You can tell the kid’s in pain. You can tell he’s not happy where he’s at. He wants to grow and whatever. But in his mind he’s saying, “I don’t have the resources to do this thing.” So Garrett brings him onstage and has him do burpee’s and push-ups and I don’t even know what he’s doing. Trying to break this guys steam I think and try to, I’m sure there’s a purpose behind it all. He basically asks him flat out, “Okay, what’s your goal?” and the guy’s goal, “Two Comma Club, I want to be onstage next year.” And he’s like, “Cool, did you sign up for the coaching program?” “No.” and he’s like, “Then that’s not your goal. It’s a fantasy. You’re dreaming about it but you’re not willing to put in the effort.” The guy’s like, ‘Well I don’t have the resources. I don’t have the money to do it.” And Garrett laughed, he said, “You know 10 years ago I was in a room just like this and I couldn’t do it either. In fact, my wife was going to leave me if I did it. But I knew I had to because these guys had given me a window, I believed in myself, so I had to be resourceful and I figured it out, and it changed everything for me.” And Garrett was kind of going through the story and kind of pushing him a little bit, you know, “If your honest kid, you need to make a commitment. If the commitment is no, I’m not going to do it, that’s fine. But if you say, my commitment is I’m going to commit to myself, I’m going to be onstage and get a Two Comma Club award, it means the next 12 months you’re going to make a million bucks. If you know you’re gonna make, if you are committing to yourself to make that your goal, you’re going to make a million bucks in the next 12 months, what’s 2,500 bucks a month for a coaching program. It’s nothing. “So if you honestly, if you believe in yourself, that you committed to yourself this commitment, then you should go do it.” And it’s funny because I didn’t tell Garrett to sell for me. He wasn’t planning on selling for me. He doesn’t get a penny for it. But he’s helping this guy through this decision, which is in proxy of everyone else sitting here thinking, if you honestly believe in yourself, and you honestly believe, believe in it. This doesn’t cost you any money ever right. It only costs you money if you don’t believe in yourself. “I’m not actually going to do it. I’m going to say I’m going to do it, but it’s a fantasy. I know I’m not going to put the work in, I know I’m not going to do what it takes to make it successful.”Then yeah, it’s a lot of money. But if you do, 2500 dollars out of a million is not a lot of money. But it is if you don’t believe in yourself, if you’re not actually committing and covenanting to do that thing. So Garrett kind of just pushed him a little bit and finally the kid makes this commitment, and I say kid, he’s 25 years old. He said, “Alright, I’m going to do it.” And he marches to the back and he signs up. And anyway, it’s interesting. And Garrett does the rest of his presentation and he ends up getting 80 people come on stage and Garrett closes 80 more people on the coaching, based on the same concept. “Just look, you guys. If you honestly believe you’re going to do this, don’t make this a fantasy, make it a real thing.” Then after, and I’m going to come back to, well, it’s interesting because there were a lot of people who were like freaking out for this guy, for Andy. And we got people on social media who were like blowing up like, “Oh, what’s happening at Funnel Hacking Live, they’re hard selling people.” And it was weird because I didn’t know what to believe. In fact, for the last week I’ve been contemplating this. It’s been interesting, and I watched in the last week, Andy, because he made that commitment, he launched his first funnel yesterday. Literally, within 7 days of Funnel Hacking Live he launched his first funnel. And I have no idea how it’s doing, it’s probably not going to be the biggest home run in the world, but he launched it. When he didn’t have the resources, he called his dad who does have resources. His dad helped fund the thing and now he’s building a webinar for his dad’s business and he’s going to make money there. He shifted from, “I don’t have the resources, the thing that most people come back to. I need to be resourceful if I honestly believe in myself. If I’m not making a fantasy, but I’m making an actual goal and I believe I’m going to hit it, then I need to put my money where my mouth is.” And I’m watching and I’m seeing Andy Facebook live everyday and do these things, and how grateful he is that Garrett pushed him, and how grateful he was. Then on the flip side I had other people, in the facebook group and other places who were so mad about it. Like “you shouldn’t be doing that to people. You shouldn’t be doing these things.” Yet, the person it happened to was so grateful for the experience because it got them off their butt. It got them to shift, it did the thing it needed to do. And it’s just interesting and kind of in reflection for the last week, it’s interesting because I didn’t, you guys see how I sell, I don’t sell hard like that. I tell stories to break false beliefs, but what Garrett did was amazing and got so many people to shift. And I know, I guarantee, I guarantee, in fact, if I was a betting man I’d bet on this. I bet there will be at least a dozen if not more people, who come onstage next year and get Two Comma Club award because Garrett did, made that shift. I bet you money Andy’s going to hit it too. Anyway, we will see. But I’m pretty sure it’s going to happen. Anyway, I’m putting that out there because it’s interesting. It made some people uncomfortable, and that’s why they were voicing their opinion, which is totally cool. I understand that. And it was, again, it wasn’t my plan to prepare it, or knew it was happening. Garrett wasn’t into it happening, it was just in the heat of the moment, when you’re coaching somebody through something, it comes out as just, it was interesting. But I’m grateful that Garrett did it. I know Andy’s grateful that he did. And I think that so many people who took that leap of faith because of that presentation. It was fascinating. Then after that, then Myron Golden got back up and Myron shared some cool stories like he always does. Just trying to give people one last push, like, “Okay, this is your last chance.” And we talked for 30 minutes and we said, “Okay, 30 minute countdown clock. This is your last chance to join Two Comma Club X and then it’s done. And then as soon as Brendon Burchard steps onstage this offer is gone, it’s off the table and it’s over.” So we did that, had a 30 minute break, a whole bunch more people signed up and we launched year two of the Two Comma Club x coaching program, which I’m really excited for. We’ve got, I don’t know the exact numbers, 550 people signed up at the event, plus an additional about 300 from last year who are in for round two, which is going to be fun. So it’s going to be an amazing program, about 800 people or so in the program. And this year, it’s funny because we’ve got a huge coaching infrastructure built in. I wish you guys could see behind the scenes of what’s happening, it’s amazing. So if we decide to ever open this up during the year, you guys should jump in. But right now we only sell it at events, so we’ll see what happens in the future. But that was awesome. Then after the break we came back and Brendon Burchard came up and did his High Performance Academy presentation. Talked about six habits of high performers and it was amazing. I love Brendon, I’ve known him for more than a decade, but I’ve never actually seen him speak like that. I was front row, and his keynote presentation, the one he loves. You could tell the energy of the room was amazing because he was jumping around like crazy. It was awesome. People laughed, they cried, it was so good. I appreciate Brendon for coming. And again, I didn’t pay him a penny. He flew on his own dime to come out here and to share with the group because he cares and he believes, which was awesome. So when he was done, then we broke to lunch because we were way over time at this point. All these things we were supposed to do just way over time. We broke to lunch and all the Two Comma Club, we do a special waffle lunch for them and had a chance to go and say hi to them really quick, and then the coaching program began right there which is exciting. And then during lunch Lindsey Sterling, this is so cool, Lindsey Sterling came and got everything setup for her speakers and her everything and her band showed up. Then we let inner circle in and we let Two Comma Club X come in, everyone came in and then I had a chance to meet Lindsey behind the stage really quickly and then she came out and gave this performance. And I was excited, I thought it was going to be good, but it was so much better than I had hoped for. And I remember I came off after the performance was done and came back stage, and all of the people on the production company were like, “That was insane. We were not expecting that.” It was so good. The performance was good, the lights, the music, the everything was so good. And then she would go to the mic every once in a while and say things, and man, she related to our audience so well. Because she’s a marketer like us, she grew up on YouTube and all these things. And she told these stories that were about, I wish, I don’t even know how to explain it, it was so, so amazing. Then when she got done, she went up really quick and we took a quick break for her to kind of get reset and everything. Then I had a chance to bring her out onstage and I got to interview her. And I asked her some questions and it was crazy because I was leading questions because I wanted the answers, and the answers she gave were not what I was leading towards, but they were better. For example, if you guys know, she was on America’s Got Talent, she made it three or four episodes in and then on the big national TV with like 30 million people watched, she got kicked off. And they told her she was no good. So I was asking her questions about that because I wanted her to say, “you know, but I realized, screw you, I am good. I came back and I built my own thing.” But then her response was o much different and so much better than what I had dreamt of. She’s like, “You know, I went home after that. And I remember watching myself on TV and I had the realization that they were right. I wasn’t good enough. So I kind of went back and for the next 18 months I went back and I learned how to dance better, I learned how to play violin better, I learned how to engage with the audience better. I learned these things and I spent 18 months to get where I could be good enough. Then I went out and started doing these videos and these videos. And on YouTube, the first video, second, third, fourth it wasn’t until I had this one video for Crystalized and it was my best one so far, and I put it out there and for some reason that one blew up and it built my following, millions and millions of views in the first 24 hours. And at that point I was good enough. I had worked it and I had earned it and I was finally good enough for the success.” And I was getting chills. I just got chills again telling that story. I’m like, oh my gosh. Someone thinks, “No, screw you I am good enough” It’s like, no, no, no, if someone’s telling you you’re not good enough, don’t fight it like that. Do what Lindsey did and be like, “You know what, they’re right. I’m not good enough.” And then get back to work. And then you can become good enough. It was so powerful. That was like one of her messages. There were so many good things. She’s amazing. Anyway, I can’t even thank her enough, it was so much better than I had hoped for. So that was awesome. And she works with OUR as well, she does a bunch of work with them. So we had her stay onstage and we brought up OUR and we gave them a check. And it was funny, I think we raised like, I can’t remember, it was something like 400 and something thousand dollars, which is amazing. Then we matched it, so we’re like at 850,000 dollars. And my mom sold a quilt for like 78,000. So we were like, I don’t know the exact number, but we’re like 100,000 dollars away from a million and I wanted a million so bad. So we had a big, huge check at the back about to write the numbers on it. And it was like, 800 and whatever the number was. And then Todd’s like, “Do you want to just round it up?” I’m like, “What do you mean?” He’s like, “Let’s just round it up. We should give them at least a million bucks.” I’m like, “Are you serious.” He’s like, “Yup” I’m like, “Ah, I love you Todd.” So we rounded it up to a million bucks and we were able to give them a check for a million dollars onstage, which is so cool. Two years in a row, a million bucks each year, which that’s…. and in a side you can say, in the check, like what’s this for? It says “For the lives of 400 children”, because that million dollars will save 400 children from slavery, which is amazing. I’m so grateful for everyone in the Clickfunnels community for donating money and putting it out there. And so many of you guys, I know after Funnel Hacking Live last year went and showed the documentary to people, and people raised money, people ran their own events. Millions of other dollars were produced because of what happened at Funnel Hacking Live, and I’m sure the same thing will happen this year as well. And I just want to thank all, everyone who was there who participated and played full out. But that was Funnel Hacking Live and it ended and it was such an amazing experience. And I’m grateful for my team, for all the people. So many people put in so much effort, and time, and energy into it. I’m grateful for everyone who donated, who paid money to come and took time away from work and family to be there. I don’t take that lightly and I try to serve at the highest level possible and I feel like this event did that. I think it changed people’s lives and there was so much tactical amazing stuff. So much strategy and just aha’s. The networking, the entertainment, I don’t know what else I could do to make it better and I’m nervous for next year. But we will do our best to make it better for next year. But if you didn’t come, I promise you it will be worth your time. Someone posted on Facebook the other day, I saw it in my newsfeed, it said, “Russell Brunson promised Funnel Hacking Live would change lives. Did it change yours? My answer in the comments.” I’m like, oh crap. Someone who just like had a bad experience or something. And I read it and it starts saying, “Russell told me it was going to change my life. I wasn’t going to go, and I finally decided to go and I have to tell you it literally changed my life.” And they went and told the whole experience of what happened, who they met, and how it transformed stuff. And I was like, oh my gosh. How cool is that? And everyone else started posting, “Yes, it changed my life.” “Yes it did.” “Yes it did.” It was just like, ah, that’s the feeling you want after all the work and effort goes into it. So I appreciate all you guys who sacrificed your time and your money to come to the event. I’m grateful for those who signed up for Two Comma Club X coaching. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve you guys over the next 12 months. I will not let you down, our team will not let you down. We’re here for you, care for you, we love you. I want as many of you guys as possible onstage next year. And for those who haven’t had a chance to come yet, or just listening in and hoping to someday be able to come and start being part of this game, keep working towards it. Go get your tickets right now. Commit to next year and start working towards it and be part of this community. This community is second to none. I’ve never seen something like this in our industry ever. It’s a whole bunch of people who care, a whole bunch of people who are trying to change the world their own little ways. And if you want to tap into that, Funnel Hacking Live is the place to do it. So with that said, I’m going to bounce, I’m going to let you guys go for the day. Appreciate you all, thanks again for listening in. Hopefully you’ll have a chance to come to next year’s event. If you don’t have your tickets yet go to funnelhackinglive.com and I’ll see you guys soon. Bye everybody.

There's a reason the Work seems so hard sometimes. It's not the Work, it's that with which the Work has to work.
