An amendment to involve the Missouri Department of Social Services in cases where a child's LGBTQ status is disclosed to parents was proposed but faced opposition.Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools' Policy Decision: The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools board declined to adopt two provisions of the new Parents' Rights in Education Law related to discussing gender identity and alerting parents about students' requests for name or pronoun changes. The Two Mikes were extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to speak with Mr. Allan Parker this morning. Mr. Parker is an attorney, and can argue cases before the Supreme Court. He and his law firm have provided pro bono assistance to women who are against abortion and/or those who have been mentally or physically damaged by having an abortion. He represented the two women whose cases provided the groundwork for the 1973 Supreme Court's finding a "right" to abortion, after both women reversed their minds and began to work with those seeking to rid the republic of the Rove-vs. Wade decision and the scourge of abortion. (The second is the Dobbs case, the decision in which re-affirmed the Court's pro-abortion position). Mr. Parker said that the overturning of Roe-vs-Wade was a "Great Day" for America, and will go a long way toward re-establishing the womb as the “safest place in America'', replacing its current status as the most dangerous place. All told, the Court's decision announced last Friday gives those who thought America may have gone too far down the road toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and so had caused God to turn his back on the republic, a bit of hope and faith that God has thrown us a lifeline that must be the basis on which we rebuild faith, constitutionalism, and republicanism in this country --Bio and websites for Mr. Allen Parker: Allan Parker is President of The Justice Foundation and is a former Professor of Law at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, where he taught Education Law and Civil Procedure. Allan was also legal counsel to the late Norma McCorvey (the original Jane Roe of the Roe vs Wade decision). He received his J.D. degree with high honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1979. This week on Maximum Mom, your host Elise Buie joined Andrea Gellen.Andrea brings humor, creativity, and a lot of sarcasm to the table. She is new to this and has been solo for about 1 year and 10 months. Her business recently expanded, and she is in the process of buying a commercial space. She also brings a fresh perspective. Her work and clients bring a lot of joy- it's a type of fulfillment she doesn't get from her marriage or her children. She is an attorney who practices in Poughkeepsie, New York, and throughout the Hudson Valley. Prior to opening her own practice, she was employed as an associate at local law firms where she practiced in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Education Law, and Landlord/Tenant litigation. Andrea regularly lectures on topics pertaining to education law, Medicaid planning, Estate Planning, and updates to the landlord/tenant laws. She has litigated in local, state, and federal court on behalf of clients as well as in multiple administrative forums. When you retain Gellen Law, you can feel confident that Andrea personally will attend to your file. That you will hear her voice on the other side of the phone, not a recording or a paralegal. She works tirelessly for her clients - your goals are her goals. Your triumphs are her triumphs. Join Brad as he discusses laws surrounding school as well as Disney's impact on it all.
Grace talks about the overreaction from the left namely Jen Psaki over Ron DeSantis' anti-grooming bill bringing her to the brink of tears.
Highlights: “Disney does get to operate with their autonomous laws. And Florida Republican lawmakers, along with Gov Ron DeSantis are ready to strip them of that right.”“There have been a number of protests outside of Disney World parks carrying banners and US flags to protest the company's radically woke agenda and its opposition to the Parental Rights in Education Law that Gov DeSantis signed.”“As National Review rightly pointed out, Disney is throwing in the towel. They're shutting down all comments and hoping the whole thing blows over.”“We don't even have to look to conservative patriots to know that wokeism is going to fail. And that's because even leftist sympathizers are admitting that wokeism has absolutely no future.”Timestamps: [02:41] Florida Republican lawmakers' retaliation against Disney's wokeness[04:53] On protests outside Disney and how patriot parents are pushing back as well[06:57] How Disney is recognizing that they are losing[09:00] Why Disney's defeat is nothing less than the beginning of the end for wokeism Resources: Get your own MyPillow here. Florida's Parental Rights in Education law, which prohibits classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity for students in kindergarten through third grade, was signed into law at the end of March by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. Critics have dubbed this it the 'Don't Say Gay' law.A lawsuit has been filed against Gov. DeSantis by several LGBTQ rights advocates in an effort to block the law.NPR's Melissa Block spoke with a number of teachers across the state of Florida who are worried about the chilling effect this law may have on not just what they teach and speak about in the classroom, but how it affects their students' well-being.In participating regions, you'll also hear a local news segment to help you make sense of what's going on in your community.Email us at considerthis@npr.org.

Jackson Women's Health Organization. The ERLC and other pro-life organizations filed an amicus brief in this case urging the Supreme Court to overturn the disatrous Roe v. Wade decision. Members of our team also joined pro-life advocates on the steps of the Supreme Court when oral arguments were heard last December. As we approach the Supreme Court's final decision in June of this year, it's important for Christians to pray for this landmark case and begin preparing our churches to serve vulnerable women and children in a potential post-Roe world. Download our free prayer guide at ERLC.com/Dobbs.Dobbs Resource Page | Many Christians are aware that an important case about abortion is being decided at the Supreme Court this June. But for many, this case is confusing and wrapped in a lot of legal jargon. The ERLC wants to help with that, so we've created a resource page that will help you and your church understand what this case means, what could happen if Roe v. Children are under attack today and it's coming on many fronts. Just take a look at the goals of communism as read into the congressional record of 1963 and you'll see goals such as the discrediting of the family, encouraging the raising of children away from the negative influence of parents, getting control of the schools and getting a hold on the media.--Who would have thought that in our day we'd actually see this war playing out right before our eyes.--Joining Jim to discuss this trend was Robert Knight. Robert is a former Los Angeles Times news editor and writer and was a Media Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He's a regular weekly columnist for The Washington Times, Townhall.com, afa.net and others. Robert has held senior positions in a number of pro-family organizations. He has co-authored three books and written 10 others including, The Coming Communist Wave- What Happens If the Left Captures All Three Branches of Government and Liberty on the Brink- How the Left Plans to Steal Your Vote.--Discussion began concerning a bill by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called the Parental Rights in Education Law. This would ban classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation and gender identity for children in K-3rd grade. Disney is against this move to prevent the sexualization of children before the 3rd grade, while at the same time, the media has twisted this by calling the legislation a -Don't say gay- bill.--There's much more that's covered on this issue, and you can hear it all, when you review this vital Crosstalk broadcast.
