You don't wanna work, but you wanna get more money. How can you do that? Well, don't spend your money. Let your money work for you. Let your money be a procrastinator ,like you, and take it's time to build you more wealth. You can get rich...eventually. Slowly but surely. Just set it and forget it Today, we're talking about easy ways to invest your money in the stock market, so you can start building wealth in one of the laziest ways possible. Up until recently, the stock market was a playing field for the elite. You needed quite a large amount of wealth and financial knowledge to get started. But it's become waaaaay more accessible in recent years, and now you can dive in with very little starting networth and just a smart phone. The secret rich people don't tell you is they don't do a lot of hard work. Most of the money they make is from their own money -- making more money. Let's dive into the secrets of how you can do this lazy moneymaking method from your phone or computer. We'll look at the different types of ways to get started with investing in the stock market in the easiest and least expensive way possible. 5. Fee Free Stock trading Apps Robinhood One of the easiest apps to use to get started in investing with stocks. It's 100% fee free and no minimum deposit, no minimum balance The trades are executed a bit slow and the current trade price is not updated as quickly compared to other paid stock broker platforms, so i wouldn't recommend it for day trading when seconds count. But for buy/hold strategies like blue chip or dividend aristocrat stocks, I highly recommend it, especially if you've never done anything with the stock market before. Has MOST stocks available, some foreign ones are missing, but they are always adding more. (Recently Nintendo for example) Use my ref link. I get a random stock and so do you. WeBull trading no monthly fee Robinhood copycat, essentially Metador trading fee free connect with friends to see what they're investing in (useful if you have finance nerds as friends and they use this app) 4. Fractional Share Investing Stockpile buy fractional shares at 99 cents per trade No monthly fee limited selection compared to a “real” stock (paid) broker but you have a lot of the big guys (Coca-Cola, Tesla, Apple, Amazon, Google, Johnson & Johnson) *FolioFirst $5 per month, but unlimited fee free trades the successor to Loyal3 3. Equity Investing Kickfurther and Slice Capital Equity investing, like Kickstarter crowdfunding but instead of a product, you get a profit Use my Kickfurther link and we both get extra “keys” to reserve an investment slot early 2. Spare Change Investing Acorns Stash auto invest “spare change”. rounds up your purchases to the nearest dollar (eg. if you pay $4.53 for a cheeseburger, it'll invest the spare 67 cents) not really spare change though because it actually withdraws and invests in lumps of $5 fees are too high $1 per month for balances under $5,000 (and .25% per year for $5k+) in order to BREAK EVEN, assuming a 7% annual interest rate, you need at least $172 in your account good for building the habit of putting money in the stock market, not good for actually building wealth lazy because it's automatic, 1. ETFs, Robo Advisors, & Mutual Funds Betterment robo investor choose risk 0-100% (basically how much of your investment is stocks vs bonds) .25% annual fee of total balance no control over what you actually invest in Auto Tax Loss Harvesting (selling a share or bond at a loss for the purpose of tax benefits) the biggest robo investor So-Fi Wealth Management $100 minimum deposit no fees no control over what you actually invest in trusted. been around for quite a while as a debt consolidation service but recently started offering robo investing Wise Banyan 100% fee free $1 minimum to open account but no minimum balance no direct control over what you invest in -- tax loss harvesting kind of a new player on the field but offering a solid service so far their philosophy is to help build people's wealth (and earn a loyal customer) M1 Finance Fee free stock investing Create a “pie": Choose from professional portfolios, customize your own list, or combo of both First deposit splits evenly to all the pie “slices”, each part of your portfolio It then Auto re-balances based on portfolio performance and your deposit/withdraws Auto invest cash (from dividends), over a certain time, or not at all -You can place individual orders to buy/sell slices You can also add/remove slices as well as rebalance your whole protfolio Vanguard very low fee mutual fund and ETF trading allows you to handpick your own funds rather than have it chosen for you -you can set up automatic investments each month to specific funds Motif Thematic Portfolios 0.5% real estate, entertainment, online gaming, cyber security, precious metals, AI, crypto Impact Portfolios 0.25% Fair Labor, Sustainable Planet, Good Corporate Governance You can also build your own portfolio $5 for auto, $10 for next market open, and $20 for real time. One time fee for up to 30 stocks. trading is free for “next market open” or $5 for each real time trade Disclaimer: I cannot legally offer you any sort of financial advice or guarantee that you will make money or profit from using these apps or websites I have provided. I'm not a financial advisor. I'm just a lazy guy so take every bit of word I say about this thing with a grain of salt. It is possible to loose money in any sort of investment. Never invest more than you are willing to lose. Results may vary. Also, some links may be affiliate links, as a matter of transparency, meaning I will earn some commission if you decide to use it and place an investment. Also, we enter the Gr8 Game Room and I give my review of Super Smash Bro.s Ultimate

Since October the 7th we have seen an eruption of support for Palestinian liberation. On university campuses we find both the tremendous growth of activism for Palestine, and repressive and punitive measures that seek to discourage and curtail these activities. One of the most important tasks for activists is to organize broad networks of support. Today we speak with two people who have helped organize a network called National Faculty for Justice in Palestine, which now has close to 100 chapters in the US. Our conversation ranges from the genesis of this group and its goals, to an appreciation of how activism is now crossing boundaries that had formerly separated people in terms of status, rank, and discipline, and created new kinds of communities and energies that are broadly life-affirming and for the liberation of all.Andrew Ross is a social activist and Professor of Social and Cultural Analysis at NYU. A contributor to the Guardian, the New York Times, The Nation, Artforum, Jacobin, the London Review of Books, and Al Jazeera, he is the author or editor of 25 books and more than 250 articles on a wide variety of topics including labor and work, urbanism, politics, technology, environmental justice, alternative economics, music, film, TV, art, architecture, and poetry. Politically active in many movement fields, he's the co-founder of several groups: Gulf Labor Artist Coalition, Global Ultra Luxury Faction, Coalition for Fair Labor, Occupy Student Debt Campaign, and is an organizer with others, including the American Association of University Professors and the US Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel. His books include Cars and Jails: Freedom Dreams, Debt, Incarceration; Sunbelt Blues: the Failure of American Housing; Stone Men: the Palestinians who Built Israel, and others.Sherene Seikaly is Associate Professor of History at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a historian of capitalism, consumption, and development in the modern Middle East. Her book, Men of Capital: Scarcity and Economy in Mandate Palestine (Stanford University Press, 2016) examines British-ruled Palestine in the 1930s and 1940s through a focus on economy. In a departure from the expected histories of Palestine, this book illuminates dynamic class constructions that aimed to shape a pan-Arab utopia in terms of free trade, profit accumulation, and private property. And in so doing, it positions Palestine and Palestinians in the larger world of Arab thought and social life, moving attention away from the limiting debates of Zionist–Palestinian conflict. Her current book project follows the trajectory of a peripatetic medical doctor, her great grandfather, to place Palestine in a global history of race, capital, slavery, and dispossession. Sherene Seiklay is an editorial board member of the American Historical Review, co-editor of the Stanford Studies Middle Eastern and Islamic Societies and Cultures Series, co-editor of Journal of Palestine Studies, and co-editor of Jadaliyya.
Earthkeepers: A Circlewood Podcast on Creation Care and Spirituality
In the last episode, we talked about the enormous impact that relatively mundane choices like what we eat have on the health of the planet. In this episode, we talk about another part of our everyday habits that we might not normally think about in earthkeeping terms: what we wear—and the impact of the clothing choices we make on the planet as a whole. To get us thinking about our OWN fashion habits, let me ask you a couple of questions: First though, pick just one item of clothing you are wearing right now. Do you know where that garment was made, and how far it had to travel to get to you? Or let me ask this: Do you know anything about the people who actually made the fabric this item is made of . . . . or anything about the people who stitched all the pieces together . . . or how much they were paid to do it? Do you even know what this item of clothing is made of—or importantly, what impact the making of that material had on the environment? I think a lot of us would be hard pressed to answer even one of those questions. But for those of us who long to become better at loving and caring for all creation, these are the kinds of questions we need to ask of ourselves and of our habits. And that is why we talked with Kathleen Audet, owner of an image consulting firm called Allegory. She has made it her mission to promote awareness about the things we wear—and to think about social and environmental justice when it comes to buying, owning, and even getting rid of clothing. Also, as part of our focus on “greening all vocations” in this season of the podcast, Kathleen shares the story of how she has found ways to do good for people and planet through her work as an image consultant.” Guest: Kathleen Audet Allegory Styling LinkedIn Mentions: The True Cost Rana Plaza collapse Stewards of Eden by Sandra L Richter James Speth For Days Allegory Resource Page Keywords: image consulting, sustainability, spirituality, religion, style, fashion, fashion industry, personal image, pollution, waste, consumers, affordability, ethics, fair labor, child labor, traceability, social justice, awareness, fast fashion, greening, scripture, creation care, capsule wardrobe, environment Find us on our website: Earthkeepers Support the Earthkeepers podcast Check out the Ecological Disciple

Dr. Harriet Fraad returns to discuss the contribution of women to fair labor policies in the nation. Some contributions were tragedies like the Great Chicago Fire in 1871 and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, in 1911. One remarkable woman was Frances Perkins, who witnessed the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, and who was the first woman to be appointed to a cabinet position in the Whitehouse. FDR chose her for Secretary of Labor, which post she served from 1933-1945. She brought in Social Security, Child Labor Laws and the 40-Hour Work week. Unions, which are organized labor groups, are prevalent across the U.S. You've probably heard of the term in the media or may know someone who's part of a union. But, have you ever heard of a worker center? It operates in similar functions as unions; however, this resource is much more community-based and is more of a guiding advocate in responsive situations where the worker is facing harassment, unpaid wages or other issues. We speak with two labor experts this week to highlight how vital worker centers are to low-wage workers who often don't have a voice.

Recently, the Wage and Hour Division (WHD) of the US Department of Labor (DOL) released six opinion letters which aimed to address a raft of issues under the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA). Another significant development is the DOL's termination of the Payroll Audit Independent Program (PAID) creating additional buzz in the litigation landscape. Thus, it is important for practitioners to stay abreast of the recent developments to carefully manage risks and potentials. In this LIVE CLE program, wage and hour litigation experts, William J. Anthony (Blank Rome LLP) and Michael D. Thomas (Jackson Lewis P.C.), will guide the audience through the latest regulatory trends and issues in wage and hour litigation. Speakers will also offer insights on how to carefully manage the risks despite the evolving legal climate. For any more information please click on the webcast URL at the top of this description.
Fair Trade, Fair Labor, and Sustainable Chocolate is PossibleShipping chocolate is challenging enough, but sourcing and housing craft chocolate from global suppliers, and creating a marketplace for consumers who have very specific expectations around buying and consuming chocolate is harder still. The challenges of creating a great customer experience with shipping delays in the midst of COVID created issues in the logistics industry, and those had massive impacts on the quality of the product at the time of delivery. Some chocolate only arrived a month post-purchase, at which point it wasn’t consumable. This represents a problem in a luxury chocolate perishable category, when you’re at mercy of carriers and covid-related delays.“I don't think the mission makes us grow slower, but I think my focus and laser focus on becoming a profitable company, you know, kind of meters our growth. And because we're not funded, because it's like something that has been bootstrapped, we don't have the luxury of throwing thousands of dollars into ads or marketing and having that long cycle of seeing a return on our investment with customer acquisition.” —PashminaThe connection formed to chocolate as a kid reflects the outcome adults make in wanting to take the leap towards craft chocolate.“You have recipes and a whole ecosystem built around chocolate and the brands with those...so you're not just unseating a single experience, you're unseating experiences across multiple food ecosystems, which is another challenge and also an opportunity.” -BrianBar and Cocoa are MBE-certified as a minority-owned business, and supports minority and BIPOC growers and founders. Their focus on doubling their Made at Origin chocolates have allowed them to support more people who are growing cacao at the source. As Pashmina says, “rather than just for these countries importing beans, the chocolate is staying there and being sourced locally, made locally by local manufacturers, whether they own the farms, whether they're working directly with the farms there.” Associated Links:Check out Bar & Cocoa here: https://barandcocoa.com/Get our latest report here: Service is the New Storefront

Kerry Kennedy - Is Your Food Grown by Oppressed Farmworkers? | Brought to you by Thrive Market, Athletic Greens, and TheragunSocial injustice is all around us. With the age of COVID-19, we see it in the higher rates of illness in our most underserved communities. On a larger, everyday scale we see it in the exploitation of farmworkers we all rely on to produce our food. Of course, these are only two examples of many human rights issues that we all should be thinking about. We often make a mistake in thinking we’re too insignificant to help. We’re not politicians, lobbyists, philanthropists, so what could we possibly do? The answer is a lot—with each small step of activism we take, we send positive ripples out into our communities and the rest of the world. I was so excited to sit down with my good friend Kerry Kennedy to talk about human rights activism and how her family has historically been a part of producing positive social change. Kerry is the president of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. Since 1981, she has worked on diverse human rights issues including child labor, disappearances, indigenous land rights, judicial independence, freedom of expression, ethnic violence, impunity, women's rights, and the environment. Kerry is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Being Catholic Now, Robert F. Kennedy: Ripples of Hope, and Speak Truth to Power: Human Rights Defenders Who Are Changing Our World. Kerry founded RFK Compass, which convenes biannual meetings of institutional investors who collectively control $5 to $7 trillion in assets to address the impact of human rights violations on investment outcomes. She serves on the boards of the U.S. Institute of Peace, Human Rights First, Ethics in Action, SDG USA, Sustainable Development Goals Center for Africa, Health eVillages, Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation, Nizami Ganjavi International Center as well as several public companies. This episode was sponsored by Thrive Market, Athletic Greens, and Theragun.Thrive Market has made it so easy for me to stay healthy, even with my intense travel schedule. In today's world, we have grown accustomed to asking where our food comes from and is it sustainably sourced but why not with flowers? This is something that John Tabis, CEO of The Bouqs Company is trying to change. The way John sees it, if the Bouqs model works, all ships will rise. It's the reason why Bouqs pays their farmers 25% more than competitors. They've come to realize that their customers care about the environment and the dignity of human life around the world, and so they will pay a little more for a better, fresher product if it is sustainably sourced and if the farmers follow the right labor practices. Of course, having this model is more difficult than what is the norm in the Floral Industry, so John gives us an MBA-like discussion on starting a company, raising capital, dealing with rejection, the difficulty of living life as a founder, and making the transition from founder to CEO and more. Listen to this episode and hear John Tabis, CEO & Founder of The Bouqs Company share the inside story of building a brand. I write about all of our podcast! Fractional Share Investing Stockpile buy fractional shares at 99 cents per trade No monthly fee limited selection compared to a “real” stock (paid) broker but you have a lot of the big guys (Coca-Cola, Tesla, Apple, Amazon, Google, Johnson & Johnson) FolioFirst $5 per month, but unlimited fee free trades the successor to Loyal3 3. One time fee for up to 30 stocks. trading is free for “next market open” or $5 for each real time trade *Disclaimer: I cannot legally offer you any sort of financial advice or guarantee that you will make money or profit from using these apps or websites I have provided. I'm not a financial advisor. I'm just a lazy guy so take every bit of word I say about this thing with a grain of salt. It is possible to loose money in any sort of investment. Never invest more than you are willing to lose. Results may vary. Also, some links may be affiliate links, as a matter of transparency, meaning I will earn some commission if you decide to use it and place an investment.* Also, we enter the Gr8 Game Room and I give my review of Super Smash Bro.s Ultimate
A nominee for deputy administrator of FEMA recently told a confirmation hearing that the agency probably needs to invest more in its people, but he didn't mean it the way FEMA actually did it — by paying people more than federal law allows. The overpayments and a more general lack of attention to fair labor standards are among the personnel problems uncovered by the Homeland Security Office of Inspector General. John Kelly, acting deputy inspector, joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin on Federal News Radio to give more details.

As a trailblazing attorney, Bessie Margolin lived a life of exceptional achievement. At a time when the legal profession consisted almost entirely of men, she earned the esteem of her colleagues and rose to become one of the most successful Supreme Court advocates of her era. Doing so, as Marlene Trestman demonstrates in Fair Labor Lawyer: The Remarkable Life of New Deal Attorney and Supreme Court Advocate Bessie Margolin (Louisiana State University Press, 2016), required overcoming not just the ingrained assumptions that men had towards professional women during that time but also the poverty of her early childhood and the loss of her mother when Margolin was only three years old. As Trestman reveals, Margolin exploited to the full the opportunities she was given as a ward of the Jewish Orphans Home in New Orleans, which provided her with a comfortable upbringing and a good education. From Newcomb College and Tulane University, Margolin went on to a fellowship at Yale University and a career in the federal government, which she began by participating in the defense of some of the most important laws to come out of President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal program and concluded by championing measures mandating equal pay and opposing age discrimination. And yet Trestman shows that for all of the sacrifices she made to establish a career for herself, Margolin did so on her own terms and in a way that many Americans can relate to today. Though any Fair Labor Standards Act reform to extend overtime to company drivers (and/or establish a minimum "safe rate" of pay) wouldn't apply directly to owner-operators, owner-operators in favor have made the argument that reform and improved pay conditions for company drivers and corresponding rate-dynamics changes would ultimately filter positively throughout the entire industry. Find more in this podcast, with audio of former owner-operator (and current compliance consultant) Rich Wilson's public comment on Day 3 of recent federal advisory committee meetings, likewise a summary of other thoughts.
In this War on Poverty Conference presentation, Kenneth Chay discusses how the 1966 Fair Labor and Standards Act, which expanded protections to some farm workers and increased the minimum wage, impacted hospital costs, employment and Medicare.
