Do you listen to your bees? Beekeepers rely heavily on sight when inspecting a colony, along with touch and even smell. But in this installment of Bee Science with Dr. Dewey Caron, Dewey asks us to consider another source of information—the remarkable world of sound and vibration produced by honey bees. Honey bees live in an acoustic world that extends well beyond the familiar buzz we hear around a colony. Dewey explores how bees produce sound through their flight muscles and how they perceive airborne vibrations through their antennae and substrate-borne vibrations through their legs. He also explains why a queenless colony can sound noticeably different from a queenright colony and how experienced beekeepers can sometimes recognize changes within a colony simply by listening. Dewey then returns to the waggle dance, exploring research showing that sound and vibration are important components of honey bee communication. Recruits aren't simply following a dancer—they are receiving vibroacoustic information that helps communicate the distance to a food source. The science gets even more fascinating as Dewey examines stop signals, predator warnings, learning among young dancers, and acoustic communication in other honey bee species. Finally, Dewey traces the history of using colony sounds to understand bee behavior, from Eddie Woods' pioneering Apidictor in the 1950s to today's digital sensors, sophisticated microphones, and machine-learning systems designed to interpret what's happening inside a colony without unnecessarily opening the hive. Javier Milei vuelve a atravesar sus días de furia. Esta vez, el blanco de sus ataques fue el presidente de Brasil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, en medio de la crisis diplomática más grave entre ambos países de los últimos años.Pero la ofensiva no terminó allí. Además, sostuvo que busca mantener una relación de igualdad y respeto con los demás países.Santiago Abascal responsabilizó a Pedro Sánchez por la crisis migratoria en Ceuta y afirmó: “Con su regularización masiva, ha provocado una invasión de nuestra frontera”. Además, sostuvo que el presidente español actúa “como un enemigo de los españoles”.Un ciudadano marroquí que ingresó a Ceuta denunció que no recibió asistencia médica después de resultar herido. “Tengo la mano fracturada. Me tiré de la valla y de dos pisos”. Además, afirmó: “Estoy aquí en la puerta gritando como un perro. Nadie me hace caso”.Gianni Infantino defendió el proyecto para crear una empresa que gestione los derechos comerciales de las principales competiciones de la FIFA. “Es una propuesta, una oferta y una oportunidad, pero no una obligación”. Además, sostuvo que permitiría generar nuevos ingresos para las 211 asociaciones miembro.Nelson Castro cuestionó el cierre del Coro Nacional de Niños y afirmó: “Qué muestra de ignorancia del secretario Leonardo Cifelli, de Sandra Pettovello, de Javier Milei y de Diego Santilli”. Además, advirtió al Presidente: “Usted pasará a la historia como quien disolvió el Coro de Niños”.María Isabel Sanz, directora del Coro Nacional de Niños, cuestionó la decisión de impedirles el ingreso al edificio donde ensayaban. “Estoy de acuerdo con que hay que optimizar y reducir lo que no funciona, pero cuando algo funciona y anda bien, no veo por qué hay que sacarlo”. Además, explicó que el coro está integrado por cuarenta niños, un director y un pianista.

Además, sostuvo: “Yo no dije nada, porque mi relación es de jefe de Estado a Estado. Y el pueblo argentino me cae bien; no voy a entrar en un intercambio de palabras con esa… cosa”.Pablo Quirno aseguró que el Gobierno no trasladará el conflicto con Brasil al plano institucional. “Nosotros no lo llevamos al plano institucional. Nosotros dejamos lo que es la disputa electoral, la diferencia política y la diferencia ideológica en ese marco”. Además, afirmó: “No hay ninguna chance que de nuestro lado la relación se rompa”.Pablo Quirno se refirió a la relación con Brasil y sostuvo que las diferencias con Lula da Silva no afectarán el vínculo entre ambos países. “Argentina no eleva ni ha elevado este tema a nivel institucional. Separamos lo que es el carril político y el carril ideológico del carril institucional”. Además, aseguró: “No estamos respondiendo ni vamos a responder a las declaraciones que está haciendo no solo el presidente Lula, sino los funcionarios”.Pablo Quirno habló sobre la campaña antiargentina en redes sociales y afirmó: “Tenemos la evidencia de que está la campaña antiargentina instalada. Sabemos de dónde vienen los posteos”. Luis Caputo instó a los empresarios a animarse a competir en un mercado abierto. "La realidad es que la situación cambió. Entonces, si queremos seguir ganando los mismos márgenes que se ganaban antes, vamos a ser de esos que vamos a llegar últimos a la fiesta", afirmó. Y agregó: "Si queremos seguir ganando sin ser competitivos vía una economía cerrada, no va a pasar porque nosotros vamos a seguir abriéndonos al mundo. Hay que animarse a competir, hay que animarse a invertir, hay que animarse a tomar riesgos. Te puede ir bien, te puede ir mal. Hay que perderle el miedo a que te vaya mal".El ministro de Economía aseguró que la Argentina tiene hoy divisas disponibles para todos los sectores. "Hoy hay dólares para todos los que quieren importar. Ya no hay que pedir permiso, no hay SIRAS, no hay coimas, todos pueden importar. Hay dólares para todas las empresas que quieran repatriar dividendos. Hay dólares para todos los argentinos que quieren ahorrar", sostuvo. Y agregó que el exceso de divisas permitió que el Banco Central cumpliera en apenas cinco meses la meta anual de compra de reservas comprometida con el FMI, y que continúa comprando.El ministro de Gobierno porteño Carlos Bianco quitó dramatismo a la falta de encuentros entre Axel Kicillof y Cristina Kirchner. "Entramos en una discusión medio ridícula. Cada veinte días la tiene que ir o cada seis meses, no importa", señaló en InfoCielo. Y concluyó: "Son dos personas formadas, con mucha responsabilidad política e institucional. Si se quieren hablar, los dos tienen el teléfono. Axel tiene el teléfono de Cristina, Cristina tiene el teléfono de Axel. Cristina tampoco llama. Si se quieren hablar, tienen su teléfono y por alguna razón no se llaman".El senador bonaerense Sergio Berni cuestionó la trayectoria política de Axel Kicillof y también fue interrumpido por Verónica Magario. "El gobernador, desde su mirada de izquierda, escribía artículos con una oposición a las políticas económicas de Néstor Kirchner", comenzó. Y remarcó: "La presidenta le abrió la puerta, lo llevó como gerente de Aerolíneas, lo hizo viceministro de Economía, ministro de Economía. Todos los compañeros trabajamos para que sea diputado nacional". Cuando Magario le avisó que se había terminado el tiempo, Berni respondió: "No, esto no se termina". Y antes de que le cortaran el micrófono, le dijo a la presidenta del cuerpo: "Qué lástima, señora Presidenta, porque usted sabe lo que son las prescripciones. Usted viene de una familia que fue exiliada"El gobernador de Salta, Gustavo Sáenz, reconoció que el desempeño macroeconómico no se traslada a la vida cotidiana y dijo habérselo planteado directamente a Caputo. "La gente la está pasando muy mal. Yo se lo planteé hoy al ministro de Economía: estará muy bien la macro, pero no impacta en la micro. El consumo cada vez es menor, no hay inversiones como pretendíamos, cada vez cierran más empresas, hay más gente sin trabajo", afirmó en Infobae. Y añadió: "Eso no se resuelve con una transferencia. Por ahí dicen: le dieron una TN de tres mil quinientos millones a Salta. Eso no nos alcanza ni para cubrir la mitad del déficit que tenemos en el transporte".La presidenta de Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, declaró el estado de emergencia tras los sismos que afectaron al país y agradeció el apoyo internacional. "Estamos en este momento declarando el estado de emergencia tal como lo contempla nuestra Constitución", anunció en conferencia de prensa. Y agradeció la solidaridad de Estados Unidos, Panamá, Catar, Cuba, Nicaragua, Turquía, Jordania, Barbados, Curazao, Colombia, Reino Unido, Brasil, México, la ONU y organismos financieros multilaterales que se comunicaron con el gobierno venezolano.

Y agregó: "Es la mejor agenda anticorrupción que uno puede tener, porque cada trámite es una oportunidad para la corrupción".Además destacó el impacto de la desregulación en el sector aéreo y sostuvo: "Hoy hay un millón doscientos mil argentinos que están conectados por avión, que no estaban conectados cuando empezó en su presidencia Javier Milei".Carlos Bianco, ministro de Gobierno bonaerense, se refirió a los videos que muestran fajos de dólares en el vestidor de Martín Insaurralde y afirmó que se trata de "un tema de la justicia". "La justicia va a ser la que tenga que determinar cuál es el origen de esos fondos y, en el caso de que exista algún tipo de delito, es la que tiene que sancionarlo", sostuvo. El ministro confirmó haber visto los videos y señaló: "Entiendo que son videos de hace algunos años y que se produjeron allanamientos en el marco de la aparición de estos videos, vinculados a causas anteriores".El ministro bonaerense cuantificó la deuda del gobierno nacional con la provincia y afirmó que "el total de recursos de financiamiento generado por el gobierno de Milei a la provincia de Buenos Aires asciende hoy a veintiséis coma siete billones de pesos". Para dimensionar la cifra, recurrió a una referencia de coyuntura: "Eso equivale a treinta y siete mil ciento ochenta y siete pendrives de Adorni"Bianco se refirió a las declaraciones de Máximo Kirchner y bajó el tono electoral: "Este no es el año de las candidaturas, es el año de las construcciones políticas y eso es lo que nosotros estamos haciendo". Y proyectó: "El año próximo va a ser el año en que se definan primero las candidaturas y después se lleve adelante la campaña que corresponda al candidato que elija el peronismo, el pueblo peronista". Sobre el mecanismo, fue claro: "Está vigente el sistema de las PASO. Me parece que es el mejor sistema posible para definir una candidatura, no solo del peronismo, sino del campo popular en su conjunto".La diputada nacional de LLA Lilia Lemoine reaccionó con dureza ante el caso Insaurralde y dijo sentir "asco". "Ese tipo de cosas son las que en parte me movilizaron la entrada en política, igual que a mucha gente le da bronca y asco", afirmó. Y agregó: "Un intendente que cobra un sueldo de intendente no puede tener mansiones, departamentos. Hay ciento treinta y cinco y había que revisarlos, porque revisan siempre a los diputados. Digo: revisen a los que manejan caja".Lemoine también apuntó contra Axel Kicillof por su relación con Insaurralde y sostuvo: "Cuando Kicillof dice 'nosotros a las veinticuatro horas lo echamos', sí, claro, porque sabías que era un corrupto y no te quedaba otra. Era muy evidente. No era un tipo inocente. Tenía el culo sucio. Y lo sabías. Por eso lo echaste, porque era muy evidente".Rubén "Pollo" Sobrero, secretario general de la Unión Ferroviaria Seccional Oeste, advirtió sobre el estado crítico del sistema ferroviario y trazó una comparación alarmante: "Estamos en una situación peor que cuando chocamos en Once la vez que nos dejó cincuenta y dos muertos. La masacre. Estamos en una situación en la cual podemos chocar en cualquier momento". Y detalló las medidas tomadas: "Hemos tomado la decisión de ir a todos los medios, ver a todos los senadores, a todos los diputados, a ver si podemos evitar que vuelva a pasar lo de Once. La gente lo sufre viajando, porque viaja cada vez peor".
