Dying in Dreams — And Why That Might Be a Beautiful Thing

Dream Interpretation Station

In this episode of Dream Interpretation Station, Sleep and Dream Specialist Leah Bolen explores the often misunderstood theme of death in dreams. She gently debunks the myth that dying in a dream means real-life death, offering a perspective rooted in transformation, release, and personal growth. Through one of her own vivid dreams and a powerful client example, Leah reveals how death in dreams can mark turning points, liberation, and new beginnings. She encourages listeners to pay attention to how they feel in these dreams—often peaceful rather than fearful—and to view them as loving messages from the inner self. These dreams, she explains, are invitations to let go of the old and step into what's next. To submit your comments, questions, or topic requests, email Leah at: LeahAnnBolen@comcast.netWishing you had an expert along for the ride?Book a DreamDiscovery session with Leah -- Click Here to learn more.Visit Leah online at: www.leahannbolen.comLeah Bolen helps people improve their sleep and connect with the power of dreams, to enhance their waking lives. Dr. Streicher’s Inside Information: THE Menopause Podcast

Less than 3% of post-menopause women use commercially produced hormone therapy. However, increasing numbers of women dealing with hot flashes, insomnia, painful sex, and loss of libido are using non-FDA-approved hormone pellets. Millions of women have no idea that they are using a form of hormone therapy that is unregulated and associated with side effects such as an enlarged clitoris, and male pattern baldness, as well as an increased risk of hysterectomy. How pellets are different than FDA-approved commercial hormone therapy Why pellets are so popular The problem with pellets Side effects from pellets Irreversible side effects Typical hormone levels when using pellets Why women are more likely to bleed when using pellets Why women are more likely to need a hysterectomy when using pellets                                              Menopause Retreat             with Dr. Streicher, Dr. Kelly Casperson, and Dr. Ellen Gendler!                                       Miraval Resort and Spa- Tucson, Arizona                                                  May 16-19         A unique opportunity to get one-on-one access to nationally recognized            menopause experts while having an exceptional travel experience.                                            For more information Dr. Streicher is on SUBSTACK Substack.com/@DrStreicher ·  Free articles ·  Free monthly newsletter ·  Free podcasts ·  Inside Information-Midlife Menopause and More Podcast Transcripts ·  Monthly News Flash Reports on recent research  ·  Monthly Zoom Q and A Webinar- (May submit questions in advance)  ·  Ability to COMMENT on posts and podcasts ·  ARCHIVES of Inside Info Posts  ·  ARCHIVES of Inside Information-Midlife Menopause and More Podcasts Lauren Streicher, MD is a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, and the founding medical director of the Northwestern Medicine Center for Sexual Medicine and Menopause and a Senior Research Fellow of The Kinsey Institute, Indiana University. In this episode, hear from Leah about the fascinating world of dreams and how they play a crucial role in processing our waking lives.  During this replay of her conversation with Maureen Spielman on the Mystical Sisterhood podcast, Leah emphasizes that while many people look for straightforward interpretations of their dreams, the true power lies in the exploration itself.  It's in this journey of examining dreams with curiosity and guidance that individuals can uncover personal meanings that speak directly to their unique experiences. They also talk about the importance of not just the metaphysical but the physical aspect of sleep. Our society tends to prioritize waking life, often dismissing the critical role sleep plays in our overall well-being.  In this conversation, Leah shares her thoughts on how essential it is for our bodies to experience proper, restorative sleep—ideally free from the crutches of pills or supplements. To learn more about Maureen Spielman and the Mystical Sisterhood Podcast visit: Mystical Sisterhood — Maureen SpielmanTo submit your comments, questions, or topic requests, email Leah at: LeahAnnBolen@comcast.netWishing you had an expert along for the ride?Book a DreamDiscovery session with Leah -- Click Here to learn more.Visit Leah online at: www.leahannbolen.comLeah Bolen helps people improve their sleep and connect with the power of dreams, to enhance their waking lives. The Green Building Matters Podcast with Charlie Cichetti

TITLE:  Green Building and Sustainability Leader John Harrison (Returning Guest) John Harrison, FAIA, RDI, LEED Fellow.  John is a sustainability innovator and licensed architect with extensive and diverse experience in both project and enterprise level certifications and design standards. He is one of the world's foremost experts on the global application of sustainable strategies at scale and utilizes his expertise in sustainable architecture, engineering and construction to enable organizations to reach unprecedented goals.   John is a pioneer in the evolution and implementation of multiple LEED rating systems; as an early adopter for the original 1998 LEED pilot, the first commercial interiors rating system, and the LEED retail and volume build pilots. While at Starbucks, he co-authored the company's LEED for Retail Volume Build Program and led the execution team responsible for sustainable strategies and LEED certifications. With over 1,600 certified stores in 22 different countries/territories and all 50 US states, the program is recognized as the most successful green building program of its kind in the world. In private architectural practice, John spent 13 years at Mithun in Seattle working with a variety of sustainably driven retail, commercial and institutional clients including: Recreational Equipment Incorporated (REI), Precor, Miraval Resort and Spa and the IslandWood Environmental Learning Center. IslandWood was one of the first five LEED Gold certifications in the world and an American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top Ten Award winner. For the outdoor retailer REI, John executed more than five dozen sustainable core stores, in addition to flagship projects in Bloomington, MN and Tokyo, Japan. With John's leadership, the REI building portfolio was elevated with scalable core standards based on sustainable strategies explored in flagship projects resulting in some of the first LEED ID+C Retail Projects ever certified. John is a dedicated environmental advocate who has donated thousands of hours, through multiple channels at local, regional, national and international levels. Through outreach, service and education, he has elevated the sustainability knowledge of building industry professionals, provided board leadership for ecologically focused nonprofits and helped develop environmental education for the next generation of leaders. He currently serves on the AIA COTE Advocacy Task Force, the Greenbuild Advisory Board and is board vice president for Northwest Natural Resource Group (NNRG), which is a regional non-profit focused on responsible forest practices and FSC certifications. Prior to his service with NNRG, John was board president for the environmental restoration and youth leadership development organization EarthCorps. John is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker on sustainability at scale and has led presentations to building professionals on subjects related to LEED volume certification and sustainability at the national AIA convention, multiple Greenbuild conferences and a variety of other industry events. Show Highlights   Navigating global sustainability standards and challenges of working with different sustainability standards across countries. Importance of adapting to local codes and practices while maintaining global sustainability goals. Examples of projects in various countries, luxury retailers, and their unique challenges. The future of green building with a focus on carbon reduction and human health in building design. The need for generative design and inclusive leadership in the green building movement. Importance of addressing existing building stock and portfolio-driven solutions. John's collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to projects in his career. Exposure to sustainable materials and practices  Early adoption of sustainable practices and materials. REI flagship store in Seattle. Challenges and successes in certifying over 1600 Starbucks stores globally. Collaboration with USGBC and GBCI to develop and refine the LEED volume program. Impact of his work on colleagues and the broader green building community   “The other thing I think is thematic and necessary is that we can build a lot of really cool, perfect buildings and it takes a lot of effort and maybe they use very little water and no energy off the grid, but it doesn't account for the vast majority of the housing stock and the business stock and the office stock and the retail stock. The portfolio driven solutions are going to be another thing that is going to continue to drive the industry. It's like how do I take a massive machine and make it 20% better, because that 20% represents a whole heck of a lot of carbon and other negative impacts.” -John Harrison   “I think it's more about the ripple effect. The ripple effect of green building projects is pretty cool, and totally quantifiable. It's like basic math and something people understand, the ripple effect with people that you either influenced or helped along the way or they helped you along the way and what they've become and where they've gone.” -John Harrison     Show Resource and Information Connect with Charlie Cichetti and GBES   GBES is excited our membership community is growing. This week on the Powerhouse Lawyers podcast we have one of our very own! Elizabeth Milian is an Intellectual Property attorney [06:19] She shares her journey into law having only started law school at 30 years old. Elizabeth attributes her success and go-getter attitude largely to community and coaching. Can I just go on record saying I told y'all so?! In fact, she and her husband took the leap into firm ownership just last year because when you see what's possible, you get to work. The transition [16:28] was a little bit of a rollercoaster, but again through coaching and connecting with other like minded professionals, Elizabeth has eased her way into this new version of leadership. Not to mention still handling being a mama! Her greatest advice for herself and other lawyers just starting out: don't rush. [33:39] Before we get into Elizabeth's Legally Blonde moment [46:05], she offers some tangible tips for more established lawyers that are looking to pivot in their career and take the plunge into something new. A Path to Integrative Medicine   This is a story of loss, recovery and finding a new path forward. After years of education and work, Christina Kraft had established a successful dental practice. But her perfect plans for the perfect career were thwarted as nerve pain, bony structures and tissue inflammation meant that she could no longer continue in her beloved dentistry practice. This is what she was meant to do! How could she leave her practice? Where would she go? How would she earn a living? There was no business model for this and even less guidance on a professional level. Who was she if not a doctor? While she mulled over her future, Christina got a job the Miraval Resort in Arizona, teaching yoga and running hikes into the Sonoran mountains. Healing her own mind, body and spirit opened the door to her next step. She enrolled in Andrew Weil's Center for Integrative Medicine where the curriculum included traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, Ayurveda, mind/body medicine, the role of mindfulness and spirituality and nutrition.  It was a curriculum for medical professionals seeking to make a difference.   “So my plan was to lean into what I love. And what came next started to emerge.”   In an environment that resonated with her own mind/body/spirit experiences, Christina found a path forward. She is now starting a concierge business in integrative health where she can combine her experiences and wisdom in helping others.  She reflects:   “I'm a healer. I'm a health coach.”   And so this phase of her journey is coming full circle, in a new business, with a new orientation, where she continues on a path towards true health.     Follow Bump on:

Bees play an essential role in the ecosystems we depend on for food. To ensure their survival (and our own), today's guest, Noel Patterson, believes one of the most impactful ways to support our bees is to "vote with your dollars" and buy honey from small-scale beekeepers and producers. A sommelier turned beekeeper, Patterson is the founder of Dos Manos Apiaries in Tucson, Arizona. He also leads workshops about beekeeping at Miraval Resort and Spa in Tucson. Patterson's desire to educate is inspiring, as is his work, in which he offers classes, immersive experiences in beekeeping and wine tasting, and a glimpse into the world of the honeybee. As you'll discover from our conversation, Noel is an advocate for sustainable and ethical changes in the way we grow and cultivate our food. Join us as we discuss how Patterson's journey in wine prepared him for honey, the critical role that bees play in our fragile ecosystems, and how we all can contribute to a more resilient and sustainable future. Key Points From This Episode:Noel's journey from winemaking to beekeeping (and what they have in common). The role of educating people on the correlation between bees, health, and sustainability.Three key things that set organic, sustainably produced honey apart. How pollination and therefore bees are an integral part of our food systems.Ripple effects that a decline in bee populations can have on our daily lives.Finding a balance between advocating for change and taking the economic realities faced by beekeepers and food producers into account.Ways that Noel ensures the health of his bees and the ecosystems they contribute to.How to “put your dollars where your mouth is” and effect change by spending money. Why current food systems typically prioritize profit over producing nourishing food.Supporting small-scale, local, organic food production to make the biggest impact. How to get in touch with Noel (and why you might need to exercise some patience!)Links Mentioned in Today's Episode:Dos Manos Apiaries on InstagramMiravel Resorts ArizonaRotten‘The Beekeepers Who Don't Want You to Buy More Bees' PrimaFoodiePrimaFoodie on InstagramPrimaFoodie on FacebookPrimaFoodie on PinterestPrimaFoodie on YouTubePrimaFoodie Email

An Everyday Love Story Filled With Healing     Have you ever been around someone who just made you feel so comfortable and you were able to be your true self? What about someone who makes you uneasy and on edge? We each carry ourselves differently based on who we are AND how we are on any particular day. What I found out about myself on this given day was astonishing! How I thought I was handling my amputation and what I was actually carrying inside of me were two different things and it took a horse to show me that. My husband and I went to Miraval Resort in Tucson a few years ago and I signed us up for an equine meditation class. I had no idea what it was going to be like, but I knew it had to do with horses and I was all in. What I hadn't bargained for was what this hour long class would teach me about myself and how that would change my life forever! Today I will tell you of the story that created, in me, a deeper love of horses, an understanding of my own personal struggles, and how I am healed and all the better for this moment in time.   Equine therapy is near and dear to me. I am working on how to bring this to the people in my life and helping others heal from the inside out so they can realize their full potential regardless of their circumstance. Today I took my visiting father out to find the wild horses of Salt River, and what we found was a greater thrill than I could have ever imagined! Check out my photos of this magical day, below. As we stood there enjoying the grazing of these beautiful creatures and the amazing sunshine and mountains that surrounded us, I wasn't thinking about my leg, or phantom pains, or the fit of my socket. Reconnecting with nature and being surrounded by such beauty was just what the doctor ordered. My mind was somewhere else. My heart was open to possibility, and my healing grew deeper as I allowed this moment to wash over me.         Are you struggling with healing? Are you holding onto the past and refusing to let go, or unwilling to forgive the one who hurt you?     This week be open to something new. Check out equine therapy in your neighborhood or location. You might be surprised to find someplace close to you that supplies this type of therapy. If not, reach out to me and let's talk. I can send you in the right direction, and if you're live in the Phoenix area I may be able to work with you. Find ways to heal yourself from the inside out. This can bring about more positive outcomes and greater change to your life. Reconnect with nature. Breath in fresh air and take notice of the animals, trees and plants around you.   And as always, Be Healthy, Be Happy, Be YOU!!!   Much love, Angie     The face of healing!

Join Jamie and Maggie Clark with their guest, Tina Powers, as they talk about her psychic mediumship gift and why she decided to use it in serving others. Recorded live from a psychic mediumship event in Cave Creek, Arizona, she shares her experience as an evidential medium advisor.   Late Awakening Tina's psychic awakening occurred at 38, but she has already experienced seeing people in her room in her childhood years. She tells how she would run to her parents' room upon hearing things, but they dismissed it as her being a drama queen. It was not a good experience for Tina that she slept with the light on. Working as a news anchor, Tina unknowingly used her psychic abilities. She connected with people easily, which made them emotionally safe, and trusted her to open up. Join Jamie and Maggie Clark with their guest, Tina Powers, as they talk about her psychic mediumship gift and why she decided to use it in serving others. Tina is a former news anchor and reporter who now works as a professional psychic medium. It was not a good experience for Tina that she slept with the light on. www.alexandraharbushka.com Leave a review: http://bit.ly/ReviewSexMoneyandFood PSST.  I will be reading your reviews in an upcoming episode so if you have any questions ask away :-)   The Sex, Money, and Food Podcast   Have you ever considered your doodles and stick figures say more about you and your life than you might think? Our guest today, Rebecca Wilkinson, is an art therapist and artist who helps people see themselves and each other more clearly through the art they make.   On this episode of the Sex, Money and Food podcast, Rebecca joins us to talk about the therapeutic benefits of art and how we can use art therapy to tap into previously unseen and unacknowledged parts of ourselves. We cover that and much more on today’s edition of the show! More About This Show   Rebecca Wilkinson has been an artist for 40 years, and a licensed and certified art therapist for 25 of those years. Through her therapy work, she teaches people how to experience the most happiness possible. She is also the managing partner of Creative Wellbeing Workshops, and currently working on a book with her business partner.   Though there are many benefits to art therapy, the greatest are to help us get back into balance when we fall out, to help us get “unstuck” when we feel stuck and to help us choose one path over another when we are faced with a difficult decision or choice.   And we don’t have to be an artist to experience these results - anyone can benefit from art therapy regardless of their artistic talent level or abilities.   In addition to individual work, Rebecca also works with couples, families and team members. Her work allows others to see themselves and to see each other in a new light, and to appreciate the similarities and differences innate in everyone.   She does this work in a rather unconventional way. She lives in both Washington, D.C. and Tucson, Arizona. For two weeks out of every month, she is in D.C., with her husband and her twin sister, and the other two weeks she is at Miraval Resort and Spa in Tucson. At Miraval she helps run workshops for the resort’s guests.   On this edition of the podcast, Rebecca gives an example of a woman she recently helped with her art therapy work. The woman came to Rebecca because she was out of balance and wanted Rebecca to help her get back in. Rebecca had this woman make a mandala (she explains on the show what that is exactly). As they looked at it together, Rebecca asked the woman if she wanted to change anything on her mandala. It was an equally balanced, beautiful piece; the woman said no, she liked it fine as it was.   Using the mandala as a metaphor for this woman’s life, Rebecca suggested she may not actually be out of balance since she liked the mandala as it was. Rebecca went on to say this woman might just think she’s out of balance because of what others were telling her.   That’s just one example of insights Rebecca has helped others see in themselves through their art!   Also on this edition of the Sex, Money and Food podcast, we talk about the different kinds of structure people need for creating art, how coloring is therapeutic even when done without a therapist to guide you, and how to overcome the negativity bias so many of us let run amok in our minds!   Whether you think you are an artist or not, you’ll learn so much from Rebecca’s stories and sharing on today’s show. Listen in for all of that and more! Rebecca Answers the Questions   Q: Rank the following in order: sex, money, food. A: I thought about this over and over again. It’s probably food! Food makes me feel healthy and that makes me appreciate everything else.   Q: There is nothing better in life than… A: Time with loved ones where you can feel love, and give love.   Q: What is your ultimate pleasure in life? A: My greatest pleasure is doing mandalas - circle drawings. It was a form of journaling and I started bringing them out at dinner parties. That’s what I love to do - do art with other people.   Q: What does art smell like to you? A: Love that question! No one has asked me that before. I’d say it smells like wood that has been hit by hot sun in the desert, than the monsoon comes and it hits the creosote and gives this freshness to it.   Q: What is a circumstance you went through that has allowed you to grow and learn and made you who you are today? A: When my brother died, it was so devastating that we didn’t know how to cope with it. I moved down to Costa Rica with my husband; our relationship had just started. I am codependent and my husband is very independent, and I would fuss over him. My energy was very low. My husband stuck it out with me, but I had to learn to let go and let someone be who they are. Q: What book are you reading? A: All I can think of is my favorite children’s book, The Giant In The Snow , by John Gordon. I like to read things that make me believe there really is magic and that book is about magic. Tweetable: “We are all unique. ” ~Rebecca Wilkinson Resources From This Episode   Rebecca Wilkinson’s bio Rebecca Wilkinson on LinkedIn The Giant In The Snow, by John Gordon Miraval Resort and Spa Rebecca’s “fuse exploding” image Subscribe to the Sex, Money and Food Podcast on iTunes Easy Smile with Dr. Braunstein Get your free audiobook at Audible

As entrepreneurs and online marketers, taking risks is simply the nature of the beast when you want to be successful. Sometimes you have to shake things up a bit, see what works...and then keep doing more of what works. Today on The Art of Paid Traffic, I talk with one of my students who is testing what I’d say is an unconventional strategy, marketing a high-ticket live event offer to cold traffic, directly off of a webinar. Her name is Heather Hubbard of thelanguageofjoy.com and she’s a lawyer turned lifestyle entrepreneur.  She coaches female lawyers to find work-life balance without sacrificing their professional careers. Last year she hosted her first ever live retreat weekend, exclusively for female law firm partners. This year Heather is gearing up for her second annual retreat to be held at the luxury Miraval Resort in Tucson, Arizona. And tickets to her event are $3,500. I wanted to have Heather on the show because, like I said, she sort of ignored the “conventional approach” when she decided to sell her high-ticket offer to cold traffic using only Facebook Ads and webinars. And so far, she’s seen great success. Plus, she saved herself a ton of time and stress in the process. The stuff Heather and I cover will give you a unique perspective on how you can take calculated risks and avoid costly mistakes with your own sales funnel strategies. On Today’s Episode, You’ll Learn: Heather’s step-by-step strategy for shortcutting the process most people use to market a high-ticket offer to cold traffic The targeting tactics Heather used to reach a specific, sub-niche audience with her Facebook Ads Why changing your Ads once they’re already running is not recommended, plus the impact it has on Ad performance How Heather avoided making one of the biggest mistakes people make when they’re first starting out with Facebook Ads Heather’s recipe for achieving fantastic funnel metrics What Heather did to protect her profits and minimize the risks associated with high-ticket refunds And a lot more…
