SPOILER-WARUNG: Ich spreche über die ersten 4 Episoden der Serie, und spoilere dabei auch. Was als Geschichte über eine grausame Alieninvasion beginnt, wird zur Metapher für staatliche Gewalt und kollektiven Widerstand.Im Argentinien der 1970er-Jahren kämpft eine Generation für politische Veränderung – und wird von der Militärdiktatur (1976-1983) brutal zerschlagen. Auch der Eternauta-Autor Héctor Germán Oesterheld und seine vier Töchter schließen sich der linksperonistischen Guerillaorganisation Montoneros an. Innerhalb weniger Jahre verschwinden alle fünf in den Folterzentren und Gefängnissen des Regimes – wie Zehntausende andere „Desaparecidos“.Bis heute suchen die Madres und Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo nach ihren verschwundenen Kindern und Enkeln. Back to business: Wir reden endlich über ADOLESCENCE. Nachdem die NETFLIX-Serie ja nun schon durch alle Medien rauf und runter diskutiert und in Großbritannien sogar schon als Schulprogramm vorgeschlagen wurde, geben nun auch Alwin, Matthias und Schröck ihre zwei Cents dazu ab. Denn als zum Teil Eltern oder eben Brüder war das alles schon echt harter Tobak, der dann auch noch extrem gut gemacht ist. Es ist also höchst überfällig dies zu würdigen. Darüber hinaus reden die Drei aber auch noch über DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN, auch wenn Daniel zwar nur den Anfang kennt, aber immerhin auch die alte Netflix-Serie gesehen hat. Die beiden anderen sind dafür deutlich weiter und als Comic-Fans dann auch deutlich tiefer in dem Thema drin, weshalb es auch hier nicht an Gesprächsfutter mangeln sollte. Und weil Alwin das Fass erst gar nicht zu groß aufmachen möchte, geht's dann auch nicht allzu lang um seine ersten Gehversuche im GUNDAM-Universum. Wenn wir es richtig verstanden haben, geht es speziell um MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM: IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS, aber bei der Fülle an Material und eine steten Grundunsicherheit würden wir da unsere Mecha-Hände auch nicht für ins Feuer halten. Am besten ist, Ihr findet es selbst raus, weshalb wir Euch nun ganz viel Spaß bei einer neuen Folge BADA BINGE wünschen.

Interview with Vanbur - In this episode of Sync Music Matters I'm chatting to Vanbur aka Jessica Jones and Tim Morrish. We'll be chatting about their work on One Day, the Netflix adaptation of the novel by David Nichols which interestingly, seems to resemble their story. We'll also be digging into their creative process, the power of collaborating and the liberating power of restricting yourself creatively. We also chat Jaffa cakes... again! Vanbur is the artist project of composers Jessica Jones and Tim Morrish. Their sound can best be described as ethereal vocals floating on a bed of contemporary and haunting cinematic score.  They recently worked alongside Anne Nikitin on the score for Netflix's One Day and also had a number of their Vanbur  tracks featured as part of the soundtrack.  Independently they've worked on shows like the long running comedy drama series Brassic, Netflix's true crime show American Nightmare, Tinder Swindler and Jimmy Saville: A british Horror Story They are also working on a new album due out at the end of 2025. Thirty years ago, C-SPAN showed the Senate Whitewater Committee hearings. The Special Committee to Investigate Whitewater Development Corporation and Related Matters was created in May 1995.
