1/4: Disappearing the President: Trump, Truth Social, and the Fight for the Republic Hardcover – October 29, 2024 by  Lee Smith  (Author) https://www.amazon.com/Disappearing-President-Trump-Social-Republic/dp/1641774576/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&sr= From Lee Smith, bestselling author of, The Permanent Coup and The Plot Against the President, comes another riveting exposé of the secret war against President Trump and American democracy. Even before a would-be killer tried to murder President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, a clique of political assassins set about eliminating him from public life entirely. In Disappearing the President, New York Times bestselling author Lee Smith exposes how a shadow network of powerful partisan activists has waged a years-long, scorched-earth war to eradicate President Trump and any vestige of his influence. Resorting to an unprecedented campaign of domestic spying, election rigging, brute-force censorship, and political violence, anti-Trump zealots have undermined the federal government and sabotaged countless other vital institutions in their relentless quest to crush the former president. In this alarming book, Lee Smith reveals: How U.S. intelligence services, trained to sabotage foreign governments and leaders, have turned their expertise against Americans. How the Shadow Network exploited Covid to censor dissidents and rig the 2020 election. Why Big Tech firms hired hundreds of former intelligence officials after 2018. How Barack Obama, widely viewed as a benign elder statesman, created and leads the anti-Trump operation. Finally, Smith shows how censorship of Trump supporters has provoked a free-speech backlash. The hour is late, and the stakes are high. Including exclusive interviews with President Trump, Devin Nunes, Dan Bongino, and many others, Disappearing the President is an unsettling expose of a rogue cabal that will pay any price to annihilate the one man who threatens their agenda. 1905 TR.

You're listening to Voices of Your Village, and today I get to bring a special guest to you, someone I have followed online for a long time, and it was lovely to get to chat with. We get to hang out with Ralphie Jacobs from Simply on Purpose. Ralphie lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and their four daughters. As an early childhood education expert, Ralphie quickly learned that the best way to impact a child's life for good is to teach parents. She founded Simply on Purpose where she's built a community of over 650 ,000 families and writes about parenting, family culture, and living with purpose. She and I got to chat about how to gain cooperation without resorting to threats, something that can come so quickly, right, where we're like, oh, if you don't do this right now, then you're not going to be able to watch TV or you're not going to be able to have dessert. I think for so many of us, we grew up with that and so it's so ingrained and being able to pivot away from that can feel really challenging. I'm so glad I got to dive in with Ralphie and I'm super jazzed to share this episode with you. In this episode, Niall asks: Riots: Who Is At Fault, The Government Or The People? Amid ongoing protests and escalating violence across the UK and Ireland due to immigration and controversial policies, this episode delves into the root causes of the unrest. Are the government's policies to blame, or do the protesters bear responsibility for the violence? Some callers think the government is at fault for these riots because they have failed to listen to the concerns of their citizens. Their policies on immigration and other issues are out of touch with what people want and need, leading to frustration and anger. The violence is a symptom of this deeper problem. It's the government's responsibility to ensure peace and stability. When they implement policies that ignore the well-being of their citizens or impose decisions without proper consultation, they create an environment ripe for unrest. The violence is a direct result of governmental neglect and mismanagement. While other callers feel while the government may have made mistakes, it doesn't justify the violent behavior of the protesters. People need to find more constructive ways to express their dissatisfaction. Resorting to violence only undermines their cause and leads to more harm and chaos. The people involved in the protests and riots need to take responsibility for their actions. Violence is never the answer, regardless of the policies in place. There are democratic ways to seek change and make their voices heard without resorting to destruction and violence.Niall wraps up the discussion by weighing the arguments from both sides and reflecting on potential solutions to address the underlying issues causing the unrest.

In this segment, as promised, we will return to the seemingly zero-sum game being played out in the political arena, under the rubric of “Election Year Zen,” episode #3. As I pointed out in closing the second segment: This, too – “politics” is the Dharma. While the course of action that Buddha and the Ancestors of Zen undertook, within the constraints of their cultural context, may not have had obvious political motivations, the very act of establishing and maintaining Zen practice whether in the form of intentional communities such as a monastery, or less ambitiously, a neighborhood temple or even a hermitage the effect of doing so upon the local society, and by extension upon the powers-that-be of the era, must have had undeniable political ramifications. Variations on this theme are recorded throughout the history of Zen.In our life and times, as of the last UnMind posting we had just passed Super Tuesday in this year's campaign cycle, and now have witnessed the POTUS deliver the annual State of the Union (SOTU) address. Which has, willy-nilly, evolved into a “state-of-the-campaign” address, over the last several 4-year election cycles, as just another blip on the screen of the endless, unremitting campaign, earning its own alphabet-soup acronym S-O-T-U – abbreviation. But before we get into the implications for Zen and its relevance to our lives, let me restate a caveat that not only bears repetition, but apparently, and unfortunately, requires it. That is, that Zen, or Buddhism, is not intrinsically political. Or, as is usually stated, it is apolitical. As I characterize it, using my favorite prefix, Zen is un-political.Nonetheless, I am painfully aware that any message about politics, however well-intentioned, is in danger of being interpreted as political, even partisan, in nature. This is a modern catch-22 that has less to do with content than it has to do with context, owing to the highly partisan cultural and ideological divide that has infected the populace with a social and mental virus more virulent than COVID 19. I had forgotten that the virus had made its debut on my birthday, until I came across this reminder in the news feed:How quickly we forget. I would say “how quickly they forget,” but that would lend to the “us and them” divisiveness plaguing us today. It is just that kneejerk a reaction. I didn't read the promised “update on where things stand,” but we can assume that it claims some upsides, such as that the virus seems to have been relatively tamed, at long last. But one downside is that the political picture has, if anything, gotten worse. Both sides of the chasm that is the partisan campaign seem to be bullish on their chances, but could not be more different in their platforms, or lack thereof. Whichever team you are pulling for, you may be reading, or dreading or reading into the content of this segment, to conform to your political perspective. I ask you to take a moment to evaluate whether or not that is so. It is a subtle, subliminal, and insidious phenomenon. A curse.I sometimes wonder if my birth date is also more of a curse than a blessing. The tsunami and meltdown at Fukushima also occurred on March 11, earlier in 2011. If my birth is a kind of curse, it calls into question all of the Panglossian views of this existence as the best of all possible worlds. Maybe this is, in actuality, “Earth 2.” In the penultimate stanza of the Metta Sutta or “Loving Kindness Sutra” it says:Standing or walking; sitting or lying down; during all one's waking hourslet one cherish the thought that this way of living is the best in the worldEven this most benign paean to hope: “May all beings be happy”; would most likely be twisted to conform to a one-sided view of reality, if it became just another bumper-sticker in today's cavalier campaign.Moving right along: POTUS kicked off the SOTU with a reference to 1941, the year of my birth, citing FDR's New Deal, which, incidentally, kicked off the alphabet-soup metaphor for the multivarious departments Roosevelt created – the FBI, the CIA, and so on and on and on. He also mentioned Harry Truman, claiming the mantle of both past presidents, while highlighting the current threat to the very institutions of government, and the emphasis on defending democracy, that they and Ronald Reagan, the other party's past leading man, ostensibly championed. Which brings us to another point about nonpolitical outcomes of purportedly political decisions: the WWII bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. Which, for those of us who have inherited the legacy and lineage of Zen from our Japanese predecessors, constitutes a koan of truly agonizing proportions. Just as we cannot condone the “collateral damage” inflicted upon innocent civilians and children in the case of Russia and Israel relentlessly bombing Ukraine and Gaza, respectively; we cannot justify the nuclear hell released upon the citizens of Japan by the self-same POTUS “Give-‘em-hell-Harry” that we admire for the accomplishments of his administration. We all share that karma. The atrocity was committed “in our name.” I was about five years old.Mass bombing of civilians is mass murder. It cannot be rationalized as an act of politics, but represents the collapse, the total bankruptcy, of the international political system. Resorting to brute force in conflicts that our so-called political leaders fail to settle politically means they should be relieved of duty. They are incompetent. This does not ignore the necessity of military defense, in proportional response to military aggression. But it does suggest that the tactics of nonviolent diplomacy need to arise earlier in the process of negotiating conflict, whether on an international, local, or personal scale. Buddhism's doctrine of the myth of self seems the place to start, in positing a Buddhist take on these destructive horror shows. And why the impulse to understand the “other,” and arrive at a mutually beneficial solution, does not arise earlier in the process, if ever. The recent repurposing of the American military forces to deliver much-needed humanitarian aid to Gaza may constitute a silver lining in the otherwise gloomy forecast. Let's engage in a common design-thinking exercise, the “What if?” scenario. What if the overwhelming power of the military could be used as a non-partisan policing function, forcing a cease-fire before the conflict reaches a set limit of civilian casualties, say 5,000? What if humanitarian aid stood ready-to-go near the hot spots of the world, inserted into the area early on, before the match lit the tinderbox? To those who would argue that the expense would be unbearable, I simply point to the much more massive cost of the bombing itself, not to mention the daunting scale and scope of the cleanup and rebuilding of the aftermath, which, of course, profits certain interest groups immensely. We have a saying in design circles, that there is never enough time and money to do it right the first time, but there is always time and money to do it over. What if we could flip that formula, on a global basis. The alternative seems to be “Earth 2.” Some seem resigned to its ultimate triumph over reason and compassion, called “Armageddon”; others seem fully devoted to making sure that the apocalypse comes to pass, fulfilling their favorite prophecy. Proving them, finally, “right.”It would be the ultimate irony, would it not, if the end of civilization, and the extinction of the human species, comes about not of necessity but from a failure of will, fueled by misinformation? That a small percentage of the population with their fingers on the buttons not only do nothing to prevent the final catastrophe, but actually help to bring it about, based on their religious beliefs? Which then turn out to be wrong! No rapture, no kingdom of God on earth ruled by a savior. Just the rubble of what was once a great potentiality, laid waste by ignorance. Not a dystopian future, but no future at all. The greatest category mistake and unintended consequence in history, accidentally bringing human history to an end. What if this planet of ours turns out to be Earth 2, after all? This is your, and my, karmic koan-du-jour. Answer quickly, or receive thirty blows of my stick! In the next series of segments, we will return to more prosaic, everyday explorations of Zen and design thinking, while keeping an eye on the ongoing campaign. In May, we will take another look at the developments to date, with a somewhat jaundiced eye to their relationship to the compassionate teachings. Meanwhile, study your ideology thoroughly in practice. * * * Elliston Roshi is guiding teacher of the Atlanta Soto Zen Center and abbot of the Silent Thunder Order. With about 130 founders and investors, there were plenty of people to connect with on the Panta Rhei ship on that late August evening, while you enjoyed a flying dinner and the view of Lake Zurich. Many of the participants were veteran Swisspreneur cruisers: it was their 3rd time attending!  The highlight of the evening was the panel discussion with Roger Dudler, co-founder and CEO at Frontify, and Dennis Just, partner at 3VC and former CEO at smallpdf, on buying or building to scale.  Since there are as many founder journeys as there are founders, the audience wasn't surprised to hear that different things led Roger and Dennis to go forward with their respective acquisitions: for Frontify, acquiring TwicPics came as a natural result of their company growth, whereas for smallpdf the acquisition of PDFtools was the result of a neck-to-neck bidding war that they decided to engage in so as to stop their partner from being acquired by an American buyer who would raise PDFtool's pricing.  Smallpdf acquired PDFtools in 2022 for 30M (which is 10M less than the seller would have gotten from the American bidder, and that certainly speaks in smallpdf's favor), half of which was paid in cash and half financed by a loan from Swiss banks — such are the benefits of being a bootstrapped, profitable company! Frontify, on the other hand, acquired Twicpics in 2023 for an undisclosed amount.  With the deal closed, came the harder part: integration. Dennis quickly realized that smallpdf and PDFtools were not 100% aligned values-wise, since the acquirer's growth ambitions were much higher than the acquired's, so it was necessary to bring PDFtools “up to speed”. Eventually, Dennis and the smallpdf team decided to integrate the two companies regarding culture (same salaries, growth plans, etc) but not when it came to corporate structure, because PDFtool's customer base was rather enterprise-heavy, whereas smallpdf was more B2C-focused. Their branding and go-to-market strategy thus remained separate.  Frontify is going through a similar process, even setting up a specific team to manage the integration, which meets weekly with management and follows a very clear plan.  When answering questions from the audience, Dennis noted that companies smaller than 50-100 employees should not think about acquiring other businesses, since you need 3-4 people fully dedicated to the matter anyway, as well as the proper processes and structures set up. And although acquisition becomes a bit of an expectation for companies at a series C round level and beyond, Roger warned founders against taking up offers from the sellers who come knocking around this stage: it is much better to build your M&A muscle proactively and wait for the right time to seek out companies yourself. Even after the panel discussion finished and the attendants ate the last of their dessert, there were people who simply could not stop networking (can you blame them?), so the party continued on land at the Metropol. It was a fantastically successful evening overall and we can't wait for next year's edition!

There is hope!Join me as I deep dive with Catharine Arnston, the founder of EnergyBits, into the world of algae (spirulina and chlorella) and their long list of amazing benefits including their capacity to fuel, protect, and repair our mitochondria. If our mitochondria are damaged - through poor nutrition, toxins, lack of self-care, etc - they cannot produce the energy we need. Resorting to caffeine, chocolate, etc for energy becomes our default. Fortunately, algae have the potential to improve the functioning of our mitochondria - the powerhouse of our cells—and thus naturally improve our energy levels. In addition, algae have also been shown to support the detoxification of the body, balance our hormones, reduce brain inflammation, support liver function, and more.Spirulina and chlorella are relatively unknown in the Western world but have been used as critical food sources in Asia for centuries. Most people do NOT know they are cyanobacteria and come complete with bio-available protein, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, and antioxidants.Catharine shares her extensive research on these superfoods, discussing their alkaline properties, easy-to-digest nutrients, and beneficial impact on human health. We explore concerns about their safety and purity and learn more about how algae are grown and why not all algae are of the same quality. If you're looking for ways to improve your energy, heal and detoxify your body (a common goal among those who have previously consumed excess sugar), this episode is a must-listen.PS—Take advantage of Catharine's once-a-year Cyber Monday sale. The Psychiatric Trauma Effects of War & Coping Styles of Different Israeli Cohorts Prof. Juni delineates the internal defensive coping approaches available to Israeli Jews. Confronted by profound threat to their safety – especially as it may contrast with the safety of Jews in other countries – they basically have three options: 1) To convince themselves thatJews in other countries are not any safer, pointing to antisemitism, reported events threatening protests and/or theorizing about imminent catastrophes in the diaspora; 2) To convince themselves that they are actually safe, relying on various spins about the situation; 3) Resorting to identification with the greater Israeli Jewish population, nationalism, and Zionism, arguing that Jews are safest in our own country where we can defend ourselves – often coupled with religious conviction that G-d has our back. Dr. Juni explains how prolonged tension and repeated trauma can lead to total personality breakdown. Painting the entire world black and dangerous can have debilitating consequences on the ego, well-being, and relationship capacity. In terms of theological effects,Juni adds that people under prolonged stress will start doubting their basic beliefs and commitments – a reaction which makes them feel guilty and disoriented. He points out, however, that such reactions are a very normal part of a positive adjustment which usually passes and often results in a commitment to values which is stronger that it was before the crisis. Juni presents three distinct groups who show different anxiety reaction patterns to the current war and traumatic events: Native Israelis, Dual citizens, and 2 nd -generation Holocaust survivors. Native Israelis are not here by choice and have no escape options – and are forced to“face the music.” Dual citizens – especially those who chose to stay – are apt to start second-guessing their decisions and their resolve, and might feel guilty for endangering their loved ones for an ideal as they second-guess their beliefs and resolve. Second generation Holocaust Survivors may well become convinced that their “never Again” mantra was a sham as they identify with their parents and feel they are re-living the Holocaust they thought they had left behind in past history. More poignantly, these survivors may vilify themselves for betraying their children whom they raised in Israel with the implicit promise that they will be protected from a repetition of anything resembling the Holocaust. For each cluster, Juni outlines the phenomenology of their reactions, the logic and pseudo-logic they engage in, their attitudes, and the stances that help them cope, as well as the effects of their beliefs, their self-image, their fears, and their harrowing anticipations. In terms of intervention, Juni stresses that the main first-line option for these anxiety reactions is psychotropic medication – specifically anxiolytics. What we are dealing with is a chemical/physiological reaction to trauma (anxiety). There is no feasibility of using psychological therapies for people who are in panic mode. Behavioral therapies and talk therapies are often helpful as well, but only after the acute reactions are first brought under control medically. In conclusion, Rabbi Kivelevitz relates his recent experiences in Israel. Having met a number of terror victims' families, he saw firsthand the amazing bravery of spirit and national identification among various sectors of the population which brought out the best in Israelis. Prof. Juni is one of the foremost research psychologists in the world today. He has published ground-breaking original research in seventy different peer reviewed journals and is cited continuously with respect by colleagues and experts in the field who have built on his theories and observations. He studied in Yeshivas Chaim Berlin under Rav Yitzchak Hutner, and in Yeshiva University as a Talmid of Rav Joseph Dov Soloveitchik. Dr. Juni is a board member of the Association of Orthodox Jewish Scientists and has regularly presented addresses to captivated audiences. Associated with NYU since 1979, Juni has served as Director of PhD programs, all the while heading teams engaged in cutting-edge research. Professor Juni's scholarship on aberrant behavior across the cultural, ethnic, and religious spectrum is founded on psychometric methodology and based on a psychodynamic psychopathology perspective. He is arguably the preeminent expert in Differential Diagnostics, with each of his myriad studies entailing parallel efforts in theory construction and empirical data collection from normative and clinical populations. Professor Juni created and directed the NYU Graduate Program in Tel Aviv titled Cross-Cultural Group Dynamics in Stressful Environments. Based in Yerushalayim, he collaborates with Israeli academic and mental health specialists in the study of dissonant factors and tensions in the Arab-Israeli conflict and those within the Orthodox Jewish community, while exploring personality challenges of second-generation Holocaust survivors. Below is a partial list of the professional journals where Professor Juni has published 120 theoretical articles and his research findings (many are available online): Journal of Forensic Psychology; Journal of Aggression, Maltreatment, and Trauma; International Review of Victimology; The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease; International Forum of Psychoanalysis; Journal of Personality Assessment; Journal of Abnormal Psychology; Journal of Psychoanalytic Anthropology; Psychophysiology; Psychology and Human Development; Journal of Sex Research; Journal of Psychology and Judaism; Contemporary Family Therapy; American Journal on Addictions; Journal of Criminal Psychology; Mental Health, Religion, and Culture. As Rosh Beis Medrash, Rabbi Avraham Kivelevitz serves as Rav and Posek for the morning minyan at IDT. Hundreds of listeners around the globe look forward to his weekly Shiurim in Tshuvos and Poskim and Gaonic Literature. Rav Kivelevitz is a Maggid Shiur for Dirshu International in Talmud and Halacha as well as a Dayan with the Beth Din of America. This podcast has been graciously sponsored by JewishPodcasts.fm. Resorting to physical force or other forms of coercion as a means of maintaining order in the household is considered oppressive and is therefore forbidden. Physical and mental injuries can persist long after an incident of intimate partner abuse has occurred. According to Islam, marriage provides its partners with security, safety, calm, and comfort. Any form of abuse is contrary to the ideals of wedlock. Abuse has no defense that is consistent with the teachings of the Qur'an and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him).

Why Young Activists are Resorting to Disruptive Climate Action – June 30, 2023

Climate activists, including Khrizia Velacruz (center) of Oil & Gas Action Network, disrupt a June event in San Francisco featuring Jody Freeman, a board member of ConocoPhillips, the company behind the massive Willow Project oil drilling venture in Alaska. Photo by Erick Parker, courtesy of Climate Defiance. Over the past year, there have been a growing number of non-violent disruptive actions by climate activists across the US and beyond against politicians, business leaders, lawyers, etc who are linked to, or seen as, supporters of fossil fuel projects. We've seen activists shut down highways, throw soup and mashed potatoes at works of art, glue themselves to museum walls, blockade the White House Correspondents dinner, shut down Senator Joe Manchin's keynote address, and more. Direct action, of course, isn't a new thing. It has been around for as long movements for justice have been around. But what's new here is that in the climate arena at least, these actions are increasingly being led by young activists, many of whom are frustrated with the slow pace of climate action and are willing to put their bodies on the line in defense of the living world and their future. But are these disruptive tactics actually working? What role do they play within the greater environmental movement? To discuss these questions and more, Earth Island Journal editor and Terra Verde host Maureen Nandini Mitra talks with Khrizia Velacruz, a climate activist and an organizer with Oil & Gas Action Network, a group that focuses on strengthening alliances across the climate and environmental justice movement and building grassroots power. (Our other guest, Rylee Haught, the West Virginia-based cofounder of the youth-led direct action group, Climate Defiance, was, unfortunately, unable to connect during the live recording of this show.) Comprehensive interview with retired Lt. General Ben Hodges. Life is becoming harder in Ukrainian cities as winter sets in and the supply of power and heat become uncertain. Winters are harsh in this part of the world, and people in big cities cannot survive for long periods without heat. Russia's campaign to cripple Ukraine's power infrastructure could therefore trigger a new wave of emigration to Europe. As Russia's position on the battlefield becomes more precarious, Putin may resort to terroristic threats, against nuclear facilities, or other irresponsible actions. Ukraine is on a path to victory, but how long will it take, and what will be the eventual cost? Lt. General Ben Hodges is the Former Commanding General, US Army Europe from 2014-2017. Ben Hodges is now Senior Advisor at Human Rights First, and until recently was the Pershing Chair in Strategic Studies, at the Centre for European Policy Analysis, specialising in NATO, the Transatlantic relationship and international security.

Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is: Resorting constantly to bets can be bad for optics, especially in the current situation, published by EdMathieu on November 11, 2022 on The Effective Altruism Forum. I currently don't have time to write much more than a quick post on this; apologies if this feels like it's not fleshed out enough. I've seen many comments online (especially here and on Twitter) in the last few days about betting on the evolving FTX situation, as a way to force people to express certainty around their statements. For example, person A says something really strong about what happened, or the way the situation is going to evolve; and person B comes in and says "that seems exaggerated, are you willing to bet against me on that?". While I understand that betting, predictions, etc. are things the EA community relies on for clearer thinking and good epistemics, I would urge everyone to consider the optics of trivially making financial bets in a situation where many people are facing a possible loss of their personal savings. Thanks for listening. To help us out with The Nonlinear Library or to learn more, please visit nonlinear.org.

As migrants from Latin America poured into New York City this spring, the city tried to make space for them in its homeless shelters. It was not enough. In August, as Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas sent buses of migrants directly to the city's main bus terminal, New York's mayor, Eric Adams, started opening new shelters at a frantic pace: nearly two dozen in six weeks. Fifteen just in the past week. It has not been enough.

I Heart My Life Show

Are you living for true fulfillment or the “next best thing”? If you answer the latter, then it's certainly manifesting in your daily life (and in ways, you don't even realize). The chronic fatigue, painfully low vibrations, even your food choices! Our physical health is typically the first to experience the most aggressive symptoms of not living for fulfillment. So why are we still being conditioned to bypass these terrible feelings? A lot of the time, those deliciously salty foods and long hours at the gym aren't going to give you the joy that you're looking for. But there are powerful resources and communities out there who know the truth: you have the power and ability to really heal. And like all major transformations, this one must start from within you.  Powerful manifestors like Mona Sharma have utilized this same innate power to rediscover what joy really is. When she was desperate for relief, Mona laid it all out on the table— literally. Having two heart surgeries (one of which she was awake for) woke her up to the painful reality she was living. Fulfillment felt so far-fetched to her that she escaped through disempowered life choices. So she decided to return to her roots and seek guidance from the Ashram lifestyle.  This philosophy molded her early years so powerfully that they became the foundation for her coaching approaches. Resorting to the power of food and mindfulness helped Mona turn her own life around, and now she facilitates the same caliber of transformation for her high-profile clients! In fact, Mona's made a stellar recurring appearance on the Red Table Talk, where the Smith family details their own healing journey. I'm utterly excited to invite the dynamic entrepreneur Mona Sharma onto the IHML Show! Together we dissect how our mindset manifests through health, Ashram philosophy, how to truly seek fulfillment, and Mona's personal journey with food and mindfulness. Mona's energy lights up the room (and webcam screen) with liveliness, passion, and intellect like you wouldn't believe.  As a personal fan of Mona's work, I know that her teachings are going to change the way you look at your health. More importantly, how you make the most empowered decisions to heal it! Don't be discouraged from seeking fulfillment— it might be the key to unlocking your truest purpose and passion. In This Episode: [0:42] Mona takes us on a ride through finding personal meaning in her work centering health and wellness. [5:07] This is the moment Mona knew it was time to make a change… [6:46] Listen as Mona details her first steps towards experiencing Ashram life and receiving her yoga teacher certification! [8:27] These are some of the realizations Mona uncovered in her mindset contributing to her health issues. [11:25] Mona details how her journey helped her rediscover her childlike joy later in life. [13:59] These are the essentials that guided Mona to leave her corporate job and pursue her purpose. [16:27] Mona shares the physical manifestations of her self-love transformation through her blossoming health. [20:09] How does your vibration impact your weight and health? Mona explains it to us! [24:12] Mona shares how she navigates food triggers and the mindful practices she implements. [27:18] More tips on how to transform your emotional and physical health from Mona (and how to turn them into rituals for your optimal self). [31:30] The importance of self-love and releasing the fear of failure on our health journey. [35:00} Mona divulges her masterful manifestation practices and how to attract her incredible coaching clientele! [37:44] Wanna create a life that's better than your dreams? Mona shares her piece of wisdom to guide you! Quotes: “They're [the doctors] trying to take away what's causing me pain and suffering. But there was no introspection around my stress, my anxiety, what I was eating, my lack of fulfillment, my joy, how I was abusing my body at that time with food and alcohol. So that was like the buildup.” — Mona Sharma “We talked a lot about, you know, following the nudges, trusting the nudges, whenever you get those nudges, it's a yes, your soul is saying yes, follow that path. And that's what I did.” — Mona Sharma “The beauty around [ashram life is] that it causes you to shut down all of the open running tabs that are constantly running in your brain, hundreds of them. Every day. So what you're left to focus on is you, how you're feeling, the recurring thoughts that are coming up and sabotaging you, your avoidance of listening to the nudges that are actually cuing you to heal.” — Mona Sharma “Growing up with immigrant parents, I was just chasing success. I just had to be successful. I'm also Indian. I wasn't a doctor or a lawyer or an accountant. So I felt like I had to prove myself in the beauty industry. And I did, I got to the top really, really fast. I got the salary, but I was miserable. Um, I had always struggled with this idea of not fitting in, coming from a, an interracial couple, um, going to a Catholic school and then going to the temple on the weekend, there was that, and this idea of body image, which women, especially, I think from, from my generation, we just were always in comparison and this feeling of lack. And I really live with that. Nothing I did was ever good enough. And as this hardcore driven a type, I proved to myself that I could do whatever I set my mind to, but the fulfillment was never there.”— Mona Sharma “Growing up with immigrant parents, I was just chasing success. I just had to be successful. I'm also Indian, I wasn't a doctor or a lawyer or an accountant. So I felt like I had to prove myself in the beauty industry. And I did, I got to the top really, really fast. I got the salary, but I was miserable.” — Mona Sharma “It was always ‘alright, what's next, what's next.' What's next? And that's the recipe for illness and the recipe for unhappiness. And what the hell's the point in living every day on this autopilot and for what? There is no personal joy and fulfillment.” — Mona Sharma “When I was pregnant again, I was like, okay, every day is gonna be around loving myself, which is crazy because we're never taught how to love ourselves.” — Mona Sharma “There's coaches who really will help you find your soul purpose, seek that out alongside your obligation until you figure out a path of exit.” — Mona Sharma “If food is information for your body, what information are you giving it?” — Mona Sharma “Now the challenge that comes for me, coaching my clients is that we actually live in a society that sets us up for failure and it effing sucks. All right, scientists are hired by big food companies to make foods more addictive than anything found in nature, higher in fat, sugar, and salt that rewards the reward center in our brain.” — Mona Sharma “So often we start these diets or protocols or working with a nutritionist or a coach, and we want these results to happen overnight. But then all of a sudden with consistency over time, as we learn the behavior, change, that vibrational change that has to happen, the results will come, but acknowledge the fact that this time possibly for the first time in your life, you're doing it in a healthy state, in a healthy way. That's going to create a change for the rest of your life.” — Mona Sharma I would say that the greatest opportunities that have come my way have come completely left field, but they always come when I'm living in a state of being that was honoring me. — Mona Sharma Links & Resources Follow the I Heart My Life Show on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/i-heart-my-life-show/id1569047758  Subscribe to the I Heart My Life Show on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1Zw6fI37FrfVjZMXlMiZZ6 Connect with Emily: Emily Williams Website https://emilywilliams.com/  Emily on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/emilywilliams/  I Heart My Life Website https://www.iheartmylife.com/ I Heart My Life on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/iheartmylife/ I Heart My Life on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/iheartmylifenow I Heart My Life on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/i-heart-my-life/ Join the IHML community to receive exclusive announcements and tips. https://www.iheartmylife.com/newsletter Email: info@iheartmylife.com  Connect with Mona Sharma: Follow Mona on Instagram Subscribe to Mona's Email Newsletter Mona Sharma's Official Website

Have you ever had the experience of speaking with a person and not being able to match what you are hearing to your preconceived notion about who they would be?  That was my exact experience speaking with today's guest, Ben Bugbee.  Fortunately for me, I interview a lot of FFA students, and that means that I have this experience frequently.  Ben is just finishing his 11th grade year of high school, and when our interview started I had an idea of what an 11th grader should sound like.  However, if you did not know that Ben was in high school and heard this interview you would think that he had been running his own business for a couple of decades and had the experience of his peers that are in their 30's!  Perhaps this is what led Ben to be named the Minnesota State Star in Agribusiness in 2022. Ben is the owner of Water Ready Rentals in Paynesville, Minnesota, and he also works at his families resort, Bug Bee-Hive Resort, which has been in his family for 102 years.  In addition to that, Ben is a regional vice-president in the FFA and concurrently serves as a chapter officer in the Paynesville FFA Chapter.  Ben has owned his own business since he was 14 years old, and to hear him speak about the pitfalls of renting out watercraft is like listening to an expert put on a seminar about running a business such as this. Ben is clearly a "non-traditional FFA student", and as he points out, capturing students like himself is exactly why the FFA changed its name decades ago.  With that said, Ben knows exactly how his water sports business relates to agriculture and is able to articulate that clearly.  Ben believes that with a lot of "blood, sweat and tears" that the FFA helps to teach students, from on or off the farm, the work ethic and tradition that is captured in American Agriculture! SUPERVISED AGRICULTURAL EXPERIENCE: Pontoon Boat Rentals HIGH SCHOOL: Paynesville High School; Paynesville, Minnesota MASCOT: Bulldogs FFA ADVISOR: Natalie Utsch CONTACT INFORMATION FOR BEN BUGBEE: Click on the picture below to be taken to the Paynesville High School website: Ben's FFA Advisor's Email Address: nutsch@isd741.org  Paynesville High School Telephone Number: 320-243-3410 FFA LINKS: National FFA Organization Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE's) Support FFA  Donate to FFA - One way that FFA students are able to start small businesses is through an FFA grant of $1,000.  In 2014, 141 FFA students received these grants.  With your donations, more students can get this head start - pay it forward. REASONS TO DONATE TO FFA: Only 2% of Americans grow and raise most of the food and livestock consumed by the other 98% as well as the rest of the world.  FFA is providing the needed education, training and resources to Americans that will carry that torch forward and insure that America continues to have inexpensive, quality food. Rural Communities will rely on entrepreneurship in the future for population growth and job creation.  The FFA is a major catalyst to that entrepreneurial growth. Farmers, ranchers and those working in agriculture give the rest of America incredible amounts of freedom because the search for food is as simple as going to the grocery store: “The future of American agriculture depends on the involvement and investment in America's youth, In order to prepare for the population of tomorrow, we need to encourage America's youth today, and show that careers in agriculture are profitable, rewarding, and vital.”. Sales don't have to be complicated. I think as business owners we feel guilty about selling sometimes because we are afraid that we will come across as the sleazy car salesman and people will feel pressured to purchase what we have. What starts out as a real concern for the people we are working with turns into an insecurity on our end - which then hurts our bottom line and doesn't allow us to help others as we have been called to help. So in today's episode, we are breaking the mold when it comes to overcoming some of these mental blocks around sales. The thing is, it really doesn't have to be that hard. You are providing an option for a consumer, and they are mature enough to make a decision as to whether or not they should invest with you. You would actually be doing them a disservice if you didn't offer up what you built - because it could truly help them with reducing their pain points. Never feel guilty for giving your potential clients a choice to work with you or not. And never feel guilty spending time communicating the value, benefits and information regarding that offer. Connection is actually your biggest selling point - if you can connect with your potential clients then you are miles ahead of your competition. That's why branding is so important. If you can learn to speak to their heart (which is so much easier when you run a business authentic to your calling), then selling will honestly feel like a conversation. Not to mention, sales start before you even officially pitch! Lastly, remember that they started following you first. These clients were interested in your brand for a reason, and they said yes to you once they hit that follow button, subscribed to emails, contacted you and more. It doesn't bother them to keep giving them value and presenting them with an offer. In fact, if it does, then it means they were not your client to begin with. And that's okay! God has special clients just for you. Need help learning how to sell in an authentic way without feeling like an icky marketer?
