Hanke betont, dass die Entwicklung von Spinoffs und Startups aus Universitäten heraus durch gezielte Förderungen und etwa auch durch den von der Regierung geplanten Dachfonds stärker unterstützt werden muss. Zudem verweist er auf eine branchenübergreifende Initiative heimischer Infrastrukturunternehmen wie ÖBB, Asfinag, Flughafen Wien und Wiener Stadtwerke, um gemeinsam Innovationskraft zu bündeln. Angesichts immer kürzerer Produktzyklen sei Innovation für Unternehmen längst keine Kür mehr, sondern absolute Pflicht.
