This week, Ella and Berenice are turning up the heat and turning down the tolerance. From calling out rude strangers to walking away from uneven relationships, they're breaking down why they're simply too hot to settle. They dive into being the girlfriend not the mom, why hookups aren't always worth the energy, and embracing seriousness as a strength—not a buzzkill. If you're booked, busy, and done explaining your standards… this one's for you.
In today's solo episode, I'm answering your questions about how to ensure we don't raise entitled kids. This is an important question that many of you have asked me on all my platforms. Being entitled can be a very triggering thing for a lot of parents, especially those that grew up without a lot of wealth. We want to teach our kids a sense of gratitude and caring for others. What it really comes down to is teaching kids the ability to tolerate frustration and deal with an outcome they don't want. I'm sharing three things you can do at home to help build a tolerance for frustration.Gain the ability to waitWaiting will elicit frustration in kids, but if they want it badly enough, they will wait it out.How often do we quickly accommodate simple tasks for our child when we could weave in a wait time?By doing this, we are delaying gratification.Play a game with your childMake sure you go first and they go second.Find the longest amount of time they can wait, and then allow them to take their turn. Meet them where they're at no matter how short the amount of time they can wait is.Let them struggle through a taskKids will often feign an ability to do something on their own even though they're capable. The whining that happens with a task they don't want to do is because they can't tolerate the frustration of struggling with a task.Encourage them to keep trying, assuming you have the time.Resources: Paid Substack Community - https://albiona.substack.com/Schedule a free call about my 1:1 coaching, Reclaim Your Calm - https://stan.store/theparentingreframe/p/free-discovery-call-ck6qfBe sure to sign up for my Substack newsletter for longer and more specialized parenting content: https://albiona.substack.com/ I hope you found this episode helpful; for more parenting tips, check out my website and blog for more information. https://theparentingreframe.com/Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theparentingreframe/Follow me on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@theparentingreframe

FIDF CEO Steven Weil is joined by Eitan Amsalem, Director of Visitor Experience, Delegations, and Public Relations at the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem. Eitan is the curator that created the exhibit on October 7th at the Museum, and he has taken world leaders and ambassadors through this exhibit. Eitan discusses with Steven in detail about the dangers of the Muslim Brotherhood and elucidates on how the October 7th attack was planned. Eitan and his team uncovered notes found on the bodies of Hamas terrorists. They created a collection of these notes and translated them. He explains that Hamas gave their officers the title of Sheikhs so that they have the authority to give fatwahs (ordinances) that certain acts that are typically impermissible in Islam are permissible, such as killing women and babies. Eitan also explains that many of the terrorists had a list of Hebrew phrases and words for the operation, including “take off your pants,” which they needed to know how to say in order to rape the women they found on the kibbutzim. They also uncovered documents that elucidate the extent to UNRWA'S involvement in the attack, and on the educational material they provide to Gaza's and Arab villagers which all teach how they are victims of Israeli oppression and must hate Jews. There's a phenomena that was uncovered about the October 7th massacre that is entirely unique, which is that Hamas attempted to eliminate, and in many cases successfully, entire families in one shot, sometimes tying together a married couple with their children and torturing and killing them. Eitan has also consulted with and was given evidence by forensics teams that were onsite following the 10.7 massacre, but didn't go into detail about what the examiners describe and found on the sites. Eitan has also spoken with many survivors of the massacre, and he explains the unimaginable PTSD that they are experiencing. Eitan closes by stating that the Islam of Hamas, which was distorted and changed in disturbing ways, does not represent the whole of Islam.Donate NOW at FIDF.org for the fastest and most direct way to give IDF Soldiers what they need most. 100% of your contribution will go to meet their emergency humanitarian needs.

A crypto enthusiast once wrote on Reddit, “Bitcoin is like winning the lottery in slow motion.” That might be a stretch, but one thing's clear: Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies aren't going anywhere. Today, Mark Biller joins us to unpack how crypto is moving into the mainstream and what that means for investors trying to make wise decisions.Mark Biller is Executive Editor and Senior Portfolio Manager at Sound Mind Investing, an underwriter of Faith & Finance. Two Big Takeaways for Crypto InvestorsHere are two key insights to help investors make sense of today's crypto market:Bitcoin Stands Apart – It's critical to understand that Bitcoin is not like the rest of the crypto world. It has emerged as a unique and dominant force, with widespread adoption, while other cryptocurrencies remain highly speculative. Bitcoin Has Reached Critical Mass – Thanks to regulatory shifts and institutional adoption, Bitcoin seems to be here to stay. In just a few years, we've gone from government hostility toward crypto to SEC-approved Bitcoin ETFs and even a pro-crypto administration in the White House.Bitcoin was the original cryptocurrency, launched in 2008, and today it represents about 60% of the entire crypto market. It's gained institutional interest and widespread regulatory acceptance. By contrast, the remaining 40% of the crypto universe is fragmented, filled with thousands of projects, many of which will not survive.Think of most other cryptos not as currencies but as startup tech ventures. That helps frame their high risk and their potential for failure. Bitcoin, meanwhile, has arrived. The rest? They're still trying to prove themselves.Bitcoin as an Investment: What's Changed? Many early Bitcoin advocates hoped it would serve as a usable currency outside of traditional financial systems. But that vision has mostly faded. Today, most investors treat Bitcoin like digital gold—a store of value designed to hedge against inflation and the devaluation of fiat currencies. It's volatile, yes. But its built-in scarcity (only 21 million bitcoins will ever exist) appeals to those who fear government overreach or reckless monetary policy. Bitcoin's not just for tech enthusiasts anymore—it's becoming a strategic asset for serious investors.Generational preferences also shape Bitcoin's rise. Younger investors, raised in a digital world of apps and virtual marketplaces, are far more comfortable with digital assets. What gold has long been to older generations, Bitcoin is becoming to younger ones: a hedge against inflation and a symbol of financial independence. In fact, Bitcoin's correlation with gold has grown significantly in recent years, signaling that institutions are viewing it in similar terms.Institutions and Even Nations Are Paying AttentionIt's not just individuals diving into Bitcoin. Global events—especially the 2022 freezing of Russian reserve assets—have prompted many nations to reassess their reliance on U.S. Treasury bonds. The result? A surge in gold buying by central banks, and increasing openness to alternatives like Bitcoin among private investors. While governments aren't yet buying Bitcoin, there's reasonable evidence to suggest that gold investors are starting to “skate to where the puck is going,” diversifying small portions of their portfolios into Bitcoin as a forward-looking strategy. With that being said, should we be concerned about the global shift away from U.S. treasuries? Not immediately. While a shift away from U.S. Treasuries could eventually raise interest rates and borrowing costs, the dollar still holds dominant status in global transactions. But it's a trend worth watching. It's a slow-motion problem—more of a simmer than a flashpoint. So…Should You Invest in Bitcoin? It depends. Investors with a strong risk tolerance and a positive outlook on gold might allocate a small portion (less than 5%) of their portfolio to Bitcoin or Bitcoin ETF's. The key is position sizing—keeping it small due to Bitcoin's extreme volatility. However, we want to be crystal clear: this only applies to Bitcoin, not to the rest of the crypto space, which still carries a high risk of going to zero.If you're curious to explore more, check out the full article, Bitcoin (& Crypto) Go Mainstream: What You Need To Know, at SoundMindInvesting.org. The SMI team also offers a Bitcoin-inclusive ETF for those looking to dip a toe into this asset class as part of a broader, biblically informed strategy. At the end of the day, financial stewardship isn't about chasing trends—it's about making wise, measured decisions rooted in truth. And with the right knowledge, even complex topics like crypto can be approached with confidence. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I currently have about $1 million in an active 401(k) with a major financial institution. I'd like to transfer those existing funds to another custodian, where I can earn a guaranteed interest rate. However, I also want to continue contributing to my current 401(k) through my employer, taking on more investment risk with those new contributions. Is that possible? My husband and I live with my father-in-law, and the house needs some repairs. He's offered to loan us the money from his retirement account to cover the costs, but he's asking us to help pay the taxes he would owe on the distribution. Is that a wise arrangement?Resources Mentioned:Faithful Steward: FaithFi's New Quarterly Magazine (Become a FaithFi Partner)Bitcoin (& Crypto) Go Mainstream: What You Need To Know by Mark Biller (Sound Mind Investing Article)Wisdom Over Wealth: 12 Lessons from Ecclesiastes on MoneyLook At The Sparrows: A 21-Day Devotional on Financial Fear and AnxietyRich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) or Certified Christian Financial Counselor (CertCFC)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions most days at (800) 525-7000. The House, the Whistle, and the Basement: Explaining America to ItselfAmerica in 2025 feels less like a nation-state and more like a house mid-repossession. Not by banks, but by competing claims of ownership over what it means to belong, to obey, to resist, and to rule. Think of it like this: there's an old multi-generational house — a Montauk-style sprawl. The parents live upstairs. The kids rule the basement. And now the whole place is in conflict. At first, the basement was a gift. A playroom. The kids got space to express themselves — a little weed, a little weirdness, some drag, some slogans. Fine. Contained chaos. But then the parents went downstairs… and it wasn't just play. The crucifix was upside down. There was graffiti, moral chanting, purity rituals, and defiance. They'd lost control. The parents tried to whistle — a sharp sound meant to snap order back into place, the way Grandpa Dunn used to whistle in Jersey City and all four daughters fell into line. But this time, the kids laughed. So they called the cops. In this case: Trump. Not as a liberator, but as enforcer-in-chief. He won the Electoral College, the popular vote, all the swing states. The GOP controls the House, the Senate, and the ideological center of gravity. He didn't bring back the old crew. He brought enforcers — Tulsi, RFK Jr., Kash Patel, Pam Bondi. The new guard. This wasn't a policy shift. This was a mandate. It's not just permission to govern — it's permission to undo. To erase. No more DEI priests. No more pronoun rituals. No more moral blackmail posing as diversity. The populist right believes they have the numbers and the moral right to reclaim the house. Not burn it down — but flip it. Renovate it. Throw out the squatters and board up the basement. To the left, this is terrifying. Because “mandate” means Trump didn't squeak by — he was sent. With permission. With support. With the will of a majority who silently said, “Get our house back.”From 2016 to 2020, identity politics went through ideological gain-of-function. The universities. The HR departments. K–12. White Fragility was published in 2018, just in time to spread a new form of mandatory compassion. Dissent was rebranded as violence. Tolerance became insufficient. You had to submit.COVID was the trigger — the mask over the mouth, and the curriculum into the bloodstream. America tolerated it — until it didn't.And that's where the MAGA mandate hit: not to debate, but to reverse. To enforce a reality many believed they'd lost. Trump isn't there to convince. He's there to reset. This piece is published on Juneteenth, during Pride Month. That matters. Because even amid backlash, we recognize what's been fought for — and what still deserves dignity. But we also need to name the tension: America is a house, and right now, everyone thinks they own the deed. The whistle didn't work. The cops have been called. And the basement is under new management.—Chris AbrahamWhat is the MAGA Mandate?Cultural Gain-of-FunctionFinal Bow

By Joshua Creech - We live in a world where many celebrate tolerance as the highest virtue, but the problem is that doesn't align with God's instructions. Jesus was merciful and extended grace, but He never approved of sin. Have we become more afraid of offending people than of offending God?

Welcome to What Matters Now, a weekly podcast exploring key issues currently shaping Israel and the Jewish World, with host Amanda Borschel-Dan speaking with Rabbi Noa Sattath, the head of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel. For Pride Month, we discuss the history of the openly gay community in Israel and the connection between the LGBTQ+ struggle for equal rights and the broader struggle for democracy in Israel. Sattath, an ordained Reform rabbi who until recently served as Executive Director of the Israel Religious Action Center (IRAC), was also previously the Executive Director of the Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance. We hear Sattath's thoughts on the intersectionalism expressed by many members of the global gay community in their support for Hamas and condemnation of Israel during the war. For Sattath, the current visibility of the LGBTQ+ community once seemed like a farfetched dream. In seeing what has been accomplished in a relatively short time, she is inspired in her work at ACRI, including the struggle to maintain human rights for Palestinians detained on and after the murderous Hamas onslaught on October 7, 2023. And so this week, we ask Rabbi Noa Sattath, what matters now. What Matters Now podcasts are available for download on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts. Rooted in compassion and knowledge, tolerance requires recognizing the inherent dignity and worth of every individual, irrespective of their differences. It grows from an appreciation of diversity, seeing it not as a mere fact to be endured but as a fundamental aspect of the human experience. Drawing on spiritual teachings, true tolerance involves maintaining equanimity and compassion even in the face of negativity, acknowledging that one's own balance of mind must surpass the external forces of intolerance. This philosophy transcends mere forbearance, encouraging a deeper respect for varied beliefs, orientations, and identities, fostering a more inclusive and harmonious society.(Music “Cumulonimbus” by Bing Satellites)

What is ‘good stress' and what are the benefits of it? How does an upbringing in uncertainty prepare you in some ways better for the world than others? How are intolerance and uncertainty linked? What is the important purpose of daydreaming for creativity and business?Maggie Jackson is a journalist and the author of the books Uncertain: The Wisdom and Wonder of Being Unsure, Distracted: Reclaiming Our Focus in a World of Lost Attention, and What's Happening to Home: Balancing Work, Life and Refuge in the Information Age.Greg and Maggie discuss the nuances of uncertainty, attention, and distraction, emphasizing the importance of daydreaming and mind wandering. Maggie explores her findings about the impact of these states on creativity, learning, and memory. Their discussion also covers how societal and cultural attitudes towards uncertainty affect decision-making and problem-solving, especially in professional settings like medicine and finance. Maggie also reveals the role of dissent in fostering creativity and collaboration, and the need to manage mental well-being in an increasingly fast-paced world.*unSILOed Podcast is produced by University FM.*Episode Quotes:How uncertainty primes us to learn and perform05:44: What's really important to understand, and comes from the new neuroscience of uncertainty, is that this discomfort we feel is actually good stress. So, when you're meeting up with something new or unexpected or ambiguous—in the forest, or in the workplace, or wherever—you actually have a stress response. Neurotransmitters, hormones, et cetera, you know, are cascading through your body. Your body and brain are kind of springing into action. And what's really amazing, and very new scientifically, is that your brain on uncertainty is undergoing remarkably positive changes. So, when you're unsure—this has been documented in emergency room physicians and others—your working memory improves, your attention heightens, your brain becomes more receptive to new data. So, this is a state—yes, that's uncomfortable—but that's good stress. You're actually being primed to learn and perform.Uncertainty is a signal to learn not to retreat06:42: Uncertainty is the brain telling itself, "There's something to be learned here." So, that puts a different spin on this idea that we should retreat from it.Tolerance of uncertainty is a skill you can build28:15: So, we all sit somewhere on the spectrum of this new personality trait. It was actually discovered about 50 years ago, but it's getting a lot of attention, called tolerance of uncertainty or intolerance of uncertainty. So, if you're tolerant of uncertainty—highly—you're more a flexible thinker. You like surprises, you see uncertainty as a challenge. Intolerant people, during the acute phase of the pandemic, for instance, they were far more likely to turn to denial, avoidance, and substance abuse to cope. So, it's really interesting because our intolerance of uncertainty is mutable. Not only can we boost our tolerance—we can practice, we can do daily exercises—there are clinical studies that are actually treating anxiety just by helping people bolster their tolerance and uncertainty. But it's also important to know that it's situational.Show Links:Recommended Resources:Yerkes–Dodson LawJeremy P. Jamieson | Google ScholarCarol Collier Kuhlthau | Rutgers UniversityHarry S. Who says a dream home can't double as a paranormal construction zone? Kathy thought she was moving into a quirky, half-finished “castle” in the country—octagon turret, three stories, the works. What she got instead was an invisible contractor in steel-toed boots clomping around after midnight, a phantom tool belt that dropped screws like confetti, and walls mysteriously redecorated with child-height crayon scribbles (conveniently appearing in a house with zero crayons). Overnight, the footsteps stop, the crayons retire, and Kathy's DIY nightmare finally gets its occupancy permit—minus the spectral work crew. June 1, 2025Thyatira was a small community with a big problem in the church. The church leaders had become tolerant of false teaching and practices that were coming from within the church, right under their noses. Christ delivered a warning of severe judgment against this influencer/false teacher, the church leaders allowing this, and all those who were putting the false ideas into practice. Yet, some remained faithful, and there is a reward guaranteed for those found faithful within the limits of what God will tolerate. Revelation 2:18-29

When President Trump declared from the stage of an opulent ballroom in Saudi Arabia that the United States was done nation-building and intervening, that the world's superpower would no longer be “giving you lectures on how to live,” his audience erupted in applause. Supporters at home also applauded as Trump effectively denounced decades of neoconservative American policy in the Middle East. “In the end, the so-called nation builders wrecked far more nations than they built,” Mr. Trump said on Tuesday, during a sweeping address at an investment conference in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. “And the interventionalists were intervening in complex societies that they did not even understand.” Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss how even frequent Trump critic Arnaud Bertrand applauded Trump's turn away from imperialist interventionism. Plus segments on the shocking revelations coming out of the Diddy trial, Trump lavishing praise on the ex-Jihadi now leading Syria, and Trump's peace efforts regarding Iran as well as the India-Pakistan conflict. Also featuring Stef Zamorano!
