Donate (no account necessary) | Subscribe (account required) Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, as he dives into today's top stories shaping America and the world. In this episode of The Wright Report, Bryan takes listeners across Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, and Chile to reveal a regional battle between the Left and the Right. He then connects these global trends to the rise of Democratic Socialism in the United States and explains what a socialist future for America would look like in the words of the Democratic Socialists of America themselves. Trump Weighs Strikes in Venezuela and Colombia: The USS Gerald Ford carrier strike group has arrived off the Venezuelan coast with fifteen thousand U.S. troops in the region. Trump says he will not rule out military action or even ground forces against the Maduro regime, which the State Department has formally labeled a terrorist organization. Maduro has offered Trump access to Venezuela's massive oil reserves in exchange for staying in power, and the White House is openly considering all options. In Colombia, Marxist president Gustavo Petro continues to defend his past with the M-19 terror group. Trump signaled he is willing to hit Colombian drug labs if necessary, saying he would be "proud" to destroy them. Mexico Erupts Over Cartel Violence: Mexico City saw a weekend of violent protests that left one hundred officers injured. Outrage grew after the assassination of a popular mayor in Michoacan by a cartel-recruited teen. Protesters blasted President Claudia Sheinbaum's approach of "Hugs, Not Bullets," arguing it has empowered cartels and left communities defenseless. Younger Mexicans filled the streets, furious that their country remains trapped between socialist leadership and cartel domination. Chile Rejects the Far Left: Seventy percent of Chilean voters backed conservative candidates in the first round of the presidential election. Jose Kast, a conservative Catholic with nine children, will face Communist Party member Jeanne Jara in the December runoff. Voters say crime, cartels, and mass illegal migration have pushed the nation to the breaking point. Kast has vowed to secure the border with walls and landmines, expand prisons, and cut leftist funding that has fueled unrest and economic decline. The Bigger Picture: A Hemisphere in Revolt: Across Latin America, leftist governments are collapsing under crime, corruption, and failed socialist policies. Voters in Bolivia, Argentina, Ecuador, Panama, and El Salvador have already swung to the Right. Europe is shifting too. Yet the United States is moving in the opposite direction. Cities like New York and Seattle are embracing radical Democratic Socialists who draw inspiration from Latin American Marxists. What a Socialist America Would Look Like: Bryan walks through the Democratic Socialists of America's own strategy document from 2012. The group calls for abolishing private business, seizing the means of production, replacing entrepreneurs with government bureaucrats, and using the Democratic Party as a host to move the country toward Marxism. DSA leaders admit there is no blueprint for how their system would work and acknowledge the violent history of Marxist regimes. Their model depends on free housing, free jobs, free education, and government assigned careers funded by an undefined source. Bryan warns that the movement is already advancing inside the Democratic Party with leaders like AOC and Zohran Mamdani openly following the playbook.   "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32     Keywords: Trump Venezuela USS Gerald Ford, Maduro cartel de los soles terrorism, Gustavo Petro M-19 Colombia strikes, Mexico City cartel protests Claudia Sheinbaum, Michoacan mayor assassination cartel teen, Chile election Jose Kast Jeanne Jara, Democratic Socialists of America 2012 document, DSA seize means of production, Mamdani AOC Democratic Party strategy

SEASON 4 EPISODE 34: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: So, will he? I mean you don't think he's serious about WANTING them released, do you? He's just trying to avoid a 100-vote defeat. Note he hasn't asked the Senate to pass a bill. And he's already throwing out "what can be legally released" caveats - like he cares. And Trump is still threatening to prosecute President Clinton. He's thrown Marjorie Taylor Greene under the bus. He's destroyed the House and the DOJ. He's invoking The Streisand Effect and insisted we all stop talking about it. His Government Shutdown ran out of gas - what does he do now? He's terrified of what's in there, to the point where Senator Chris Murphy said it's enough to potentially end his presidency. I mean Alexander Haig and others told Nixon to burn the Watergate tapes, in public, with the media present and Haig says Nixon asked him to do it but Haig demurred and later says it was the biggest mistake ever. So? Will Trump destroy the Epstein Files? Burn them, bury them, dump them, or order Kash Patel or Pam Bondi or just Walt Nauta to do it? And can Democrats make Epstein and what is at minimum Trump's protection of pedophiles the centerpiece of the midterms? To explain to voters that burying the files is why Trump is gerrymandering and trying to fix or cancel those midterms? If he doesn't destroy them, does he destroy the process by which they could get out? Does he destroy what's left of democracy? The full monty of authoritarianism? And as an aside, when he was even willing to change the topic from Epstein to his MRI last month, did anybody else note that he made a remark as crazy as anything ever said by - anybody? That he had no idea what part of his body they MRI'd but he had the greatest MRI ever? What if he's not crazy, lying, or unable to understand what an MRI is? What if that's true? Was he unconscious? Sedated? Did they just surprise him? What are the implications for the theories that he's being treated for some form of dementia? Or: Maybe they MRI’d Trump looking to see if he stuffed the Epstein files up his...assisted living facility. PLUS: The self-beclowning of Stephen A. Smith continues. He can't figure out why Gavin Newsom and AOC and other Democrats won't come on his new political podcast: "I'm A Right Wing Dupe." And Olivia Nuzzi's new book is about to arrive and I have only one detail to address, but I have two big fears. What if her publicity tours include interviews with Ingraham on Fox and Tur on MSNOW? Lol B-Block (34:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: JD Vance wants us to believe all those undocumented immigrants are stealing SNAP benefits, eating pets and driving up home prices by snapping up $500,000 houses. It seems like Eric Trump just said his wife charges him a fee to have a glass of wine with her. And Megyn Kelly explains Jeffrey Epstein wasn't technically a pedophile and the age of the victim makes a difference, after a career filled with her screaming at anybody else who suggested exactly the same thing. C-Block (45:00) IN MEMORY OF MISHU: It's the fourth anniversary of the month my late hospice puppy with the incurable, untreatable heart condition, taught me one of the meanings of life. I like to remember him; I hope you'll remember him with me.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

President Trump is attempting to suppress the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, amidst tension with MAGA Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene who supports the release of Epstein files. Trump has labeled Greene a traitor, creating fractures within the Republican base. Key Republican votes on releasing Epstein-related emails are expected, with Trump facing resistance within his party. In another segment, the future of Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer is questioned due to dissatisfaction within his party, fueled by Schumer's handling of the government shutdown. Potential challengers, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, loom ahead of the 2028 elections. Also discussed is the public's discontent with Trump's handling of healthcare, seen as a pivotal issue for Democrats in upcoming elections. Finally, there's coverage of internal conflicts in the Democratic Party, such as Marie Gluesenkamp Pérez criticizing Rep. Chuy Garcia over his retirement announcement timing, and efforts by former NFL player Kyle Turley to reverse a new ban on many hemp products included in a recent government funding bill. This week on the Mark Levin Show, the Democrat Party government shutdown is the best evidence why the government should never, for example, take over our healthcare system. It's not controlled by Democrat politicians (senators) abusing the filibuster rule to blackmail the country and do as much damage to the economy as possible to further government control of the economy and leftwing political agendas. Also, the U.S. air traffic control system and TSA should be privatized. It's unacceptable that our air traffic could come to a halt because air traffic controllers wouldn't show up for work during the shutdown. The Democratic Party is being internally devoured by Marxism and Islamism, ideologies foreign to America's founding principles. These forces, power-hungry and seeking centralized control, mask their hatred for the country as righteousness, liberation, equality, and affordability, while spreading rapidly and replacing the party's base and leadership. In response, a fascistic reaction emerges on the radical right by grifters like podcasters and influencers who gain fame and wealth promoting it. Both Marxists and fascists seek to destroy American institutions—the former to replace them, the latter claiming they fail—leading to dwindling support for the Declaration, Constitution, and founders. The Republican Party resists this fascistic right, albeit insufficiently, whereas the Democratic Party, having unleashed and failed to control these forces, is now becoming the Marxist left. In chapter two of "American Marxism," titled "Breeding Mobs," it explains how mass movements devour individual identity and uniqueness, rendering people indistinguishable while assigning group identities based on race, age, or income to foster class distinctions and divisions. These movements attract disenchanted, disaffected, and maladjusted individuals who blame external factors like the system or others for their conditions, lured by utopian promises and criticisms of society, where improving their lot ties to the cause and disparaging the successful becomes a tactic to instill meaning and self-worth. Ultimately, these movements rely on deceit, propaganda, intimidation, and force, leading to scapegoating, violence, and totalitarianism. Just think of figures like Bernie Sanders, AOC, Nick Fuentes, Steve Bannon, Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, and their supporters. Later, the U.S. healthcare system is the world's best, but some sort of health savings accounts that put more money in people's pockets, enabling them to choose and pay for their own healthcare premiums would be a great idea. Afterward, Gov Gavin Newsom's former chief of staff was indicted on 23 federal counts including conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud. Learn more about your ad choices. It's the end of an era. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who counts among her legacies in Congress successfully undercutting the push for Medicare for All, announced last week that she is retiring from Congress. The two-time former speaker of the House made her announcement after Democrats made remarkable gains in nationwide elections, campaigning on affordability and standing up to the Trump administration.“We are in this era where we need new ideas, we need new leaders, we need people who are going to push the party in a new direction,” says Saikat Chakrabarti, who is running to replace Pelosi and represent San Francisco in Congress, making economic inequality and corporate power the focal point of his politics. This week on The Intercept Briefing, host Akela Lacy speaks to Chakrabarti, the co-founder of the progressive outfit Justice Democrats who helped run the primary campaign of one of its first candidates, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, becoming her first chief of staff.Answering Lacy's question as to how he'll get it done, Chakrabarti says, “In the 1930s, we had a really powerful, far right in this country. We were actually seeing Nazi rallies in Madison Square Garden, it was filling the stadium. And the way we defeated that was FDR came in with the New Deal movement. He built this whole new economy and a whole new society that improved people's lives so dramatically, it just killed this idea that you need an authoritarian to do it for you.” FDR “wasn't advocating for going back to a pre-Great Depression era. He was advocating for something new. So that's the way we get it done, and I see some movement towards that.”Chakrabarti has been openly calling for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., to be primaried and tells The Intercept that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer should be too, following the end of the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, after eight Democratic senators — none who are up for reelection — joined forces with Republicans to pass a spending package.“My goal, honestly, is to replace a huge part of the Democrat establishment,” says Chakrabarti. “I'm calling for primaries all across the country. ... I think we actually have to get in there and be in a position of power where we can do all that, so it's not going to be this constant compromising with the establishment, trying to figure out how we can push.” He adds, “I tried the pushing strategy — that's what Justice Democrats was: We were trying to elect people to try to push the Democratic Party to do the right thing. It's not going to work. We have to replace them.”Listen to the full conversation of The Intercept Briefing on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen. You can support our work at theintercept.com/join. Democrats elation over the election sweep last week quickly turned sour as the government shutdown came to an end. After an estimated $11 Billion in permanent economic damage, Democrats could have made the same exact deal 43 days ago. In other words, Democrats got none of the things they were asking for. Dan Turrentine is here to discuss the lack of strategy going into the shutdown and how Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer had no plan of getting out of the shutdown. This abysmal failure by Chuck Schumer has led many to call for his resignation. Schumer's approval rating is so low and AOC polls 15 to 20 points higher than him should she challenge him for his Senate seat. In Virginia, Terry Kilgore is the House Republican Leader in the House of Delegates. Kilgore unpacks the substantial beating Republicans took in the election. Winsome Sears failure to focus her campaign on economics and affordability was essentially her down fall but could current Governor Youngkin done more to help her? Now that Abigail Spanberger is in charge along with a Democratic majority, how will Republicans regroup? Dominic Carter delivers unfiltered takes from New York City to the world on a Friday A.M.. Rumors swirl that Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer is done and won't seek re-election in 2028, facing mounting pressure as Democrats break ranks on the shutdown vote. The potential replacement? None other than "Senator Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs," AOC. Carter dissects AOC's shocking claims that Trump supporters are defecting to "free, free, free democratic socialism" and worries about the continuing "destruction of the Democrat party". The drama doesn't stop there: California Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell has been criminally referred to the Justice Department over alleged mortgage fraud, joining a number of Democrats facing similar allegations. Dominic Carter and his guests argue that the modern Democrats are now a party of "crazies and lunatics and radical leftists" focused on selling a "bill of goods" promising "free, free, free" benefits. Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Open for Business! President Donald Trump officially signed legislation reopening the federal government after a 43-day shutdown. The segment opens with audio from Trump at the Resolute Desk, where he criticizes Democrats for what he calls an attempted “extortion” of American taxpayers to fund benefits for illegal immigrants. Clay and Buck analyze the political fallout, questioning whether Democrats will repeat shutdown tactics in 2026 as part of their midterm election strategy. The conversation transitions into a broader discussion on Senate filibuster reform, with Clay advocating for procedural changes to prevent future shutdowns driven by minority party obstruction. Buck adds historical context, referencing past filibuster modifications and the potential consequences of further rule changes. Uncle Bill: All for Nothing A wide-ranging interview with bestselling author and media veteran Bill O’Reilly. Clay and Buck do a deep dive into the political fallout from the recent government shutdown, which O’Reilly attributes to far-left consultants steering the Democratic Party into a failed strategy aimed at making pandemic-era Obamacare spending permanent. He argues that the shutdown hurt millions of Americans and yielded no real gains for Democrats, who now risk being branded as the “mean party” heading into the 2026 midterms. The hosts and O’Reilly also discuss the resurfacing of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, which they believe was used as a distraction from Democratic missteps. The conversation shifts to the 2028 presidential race, where Clay and Buck predict Gavin Newsom and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the likely Democratic ticket. O’Reilly disagrees, citing Newsom’s poor record in California, including mass outmigration and corruption scandals, and suggests Maryland Governor Wes Moore as a more viable alternative. The trio also debate the dangers of artificial intelligence in politics and media, highlighting the rise of deepfake videos and AI-generated misinformation. O’Reilly references a false image involving President Donald Trump that was cited by Rep. Melanie Stansberry, warning that AI will make it increasingly difficult to distinguish truth from fiction. The hosts call for urgent reform of defamation and libel laws to protect public figures and citizens from malicious AI content. What H-1B Visas Are Supposed To Be The H-1B visa program triggers a contentious exchange between Laura Ingraham and President Trump. Trump defends the need for foreign talent in specialized industries, while Ingraham argues that American workers should be prioritized. Buck provides data indicating that over 750,000 H-1B visa holders are currently working in the U.S., with India accounting for 75% of recent recipients. Clay and Buck debate whether the program is being abused by corporations to undercut American wages and bypass domestic hiring. Buck clarifies that Trump’s comments about lacking domestic talent were aimed at highly specialized roles, such as semiconductor manufacturing, where foreign expertise is temporarily needed. Multiple callers share firsthand experiences with H-1B hires, sparking a robust debate. A computer programmer from California claims foreign workers were paid less despite equal performance. A North Carolina business owner defends the program, citing higher productivity among foreign hires. An engineering manager warns of wage suppression and offshoring trends, while another caller shares how his son’s defense contractor job was outsourced to foreign engineers despite national security concerns. Female Mamdani? Clay and Buck dive into some breaking news, cultural commentary, and audience-driven debate, beginning with reports of a violent incident involving Alina Habba, a U.S. attorney in New Jersey, whose office was attacked by a bat-wielding suspect. Clay and Buck highlight the growing concern over left-wing violence and express relief that Habba is unharmed. They also cover Senator John Fetterman’s hospitalization following a fall caused by a ventricular fibrillation episode, noting his humorous response and drawing parallels to historical political wit. The hour transitions into a critique of Michelle Obama’s recent comments on race and beauty, with Clay and Buck arguing that identity politics are eroding public discourse. They dissect her career trajectory, including her high-paying diversity role at the University of Chicago Medical Center, and question the merit of such positions. This leads into a broader discussion about the Democratic Party’s push for government-run grocery stores, citing examples from Seattle and New York City. Clay and Buck mock the idea as reminiscent of failed socialist models like Cuba, and reference studies—including one from The New York Times—showing that increased access to healthy food does not necessarily change consumer behavior in low-income communities. Clay and Buck argue that food deserts are often misrepresented and that consumer choice, not corporate abandonment, drives product availability. They emphasize the inefficiency of government-run enterprises, citing failed experiments in cities like Kansas City, and warn against policies that ignore market realities. The conversation includes a call from a listener in Rochester, New York, who explains that theft and crime—not lack of demand—are driving grocery stores out of urban areas. The hosts agree, noting that store closures also eliminate local jobs and further destabilize communities. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, in chapter two of "American Marxism," titled "Breeding Mobs," it explains how mass movements devour individual identity and uniqueness, rendering people indistinguishable while assigning group identities based on race, age, or income to foster class distinctions and divisions. Also, Democrats are trying to insinuate that Trump spent significant time with Virginia Giuffre and possibly engaged in untoward behavior. However, Giuffre herself stated in 2016 that Trump was never involved in any improper conduct with her and that she witnessed nothing inappropriate. Democrats redacting Giuffre's name in leaked emails was intentional to fabricate a scandal, similar to the Russia hoax. Later, Gov Greg Abbott calls in and explains that he shut down the proposed EPIC center in the Dallas area, an Islamic-only development, through a new law that bans no-go zones, prohibits discriminatory land sales or rentals based on Islam, mandates disputes be resolved under Texas laws and courts rather than Sharia law, and empowers the Attorney General to close such projects. He also outlined a multi-point plan to make housing more affordable by reducing property taxes. Finally, Professor Emeritus John Ellis calls in and argues that to save universities from radical political zealots who have replaced knowledge promotion with fringe ideology indoctrination, urgent reform is essential, as evidenced by radicalized graduates influencing society, such as New York's communist mayor. President Trump signed the bill to reopen the government. Democrats got nothing they wanted out of the deal, no money for illegal aliens and no extensions on ACA subsidies. The shutdown exposed how awful Obamacare really is with insurance company stocks soaring 1000% and premiums bankrupting American families and making insurance brokers rich. President Trump has called to get rid of Obamacare and allow people to buy their own healthcare. H1-B visas are back in the spotlight as the country has been flooded with cheap labor. MAGA wants these manufacturing jobs to go to Americans, while places like China and Korea are dominant in manufacturing for the devices we use everyday. It is time to provide training to Americans to do these specialized jobs that are currently dominated by H1-B holders. Democrats are back on the Epstein case since their shutdown failed miserably. The house will vote on the discharge petition to release the files, Republicans should vote yes to finally put an end to the Epstein scandal. And why is the spell breaking now? We unpack the aspirational trap at the heart of Trump's appeal. Plus, Tucker's problem with “strivers.” Billionaires who cheer for the poor but side-eye the middle class. ▶️ Democrats Are Quietly Channeling the 2015 GOP's #War PhilosphyThey want fighters. CannCon and Alpha Warrior kick off this fiery episode of Badlands Daily with early-morning banter and dive straight into the chaos surrounding the 43-day government shutdown. They break down AOC's meltdown, Durbin's stunning admission, and the coordinated “leverage” strategy Democrats used to manipulate public perception ahead of elections. From flight delays to SNAP disruptions, the hosts expose how the shutdown was weaponized for political gain. CannCon and Alpha pivot into the explosive Epstein files, unpacking whistleblower claims, suspicious emails, media manipulation, and why so many powerful players are panicking. They spotlight the Arizona elector prosecutions, Christina Bobb's bombshell allegations, and fresh signs that major corruption in California may finally be cracking open. The episode closes with border chaos, child-targeting offenders being rounded up, and the wider implications for 2026. A packed show full of receipts, laughs, theory crafting, and sharp analysis, classic CannCon and Alpha energy from start to finish.

You're listening to American Ground Radio with Louis R. Avallone and Stephen Parr. This is the full show for November 12, 2025. 0:30 How can one city take nearly half a month to count votes? Seattle’s still counting ballots two weeks after Election Day — and somehow, the far-left candidate keeps gaining ground. From New York’s new socialist mayor to Seattle’s projected “democratic socialist” winner, delayed counts and mail-in ballots seem to benefit the far-left. But it’s about more than elections. We dig into why progressive cities like Seattle, already struggling with crime, homelessness, and failing businesses, keep doubling down on policies that made those problems worse. 9:30 Plus, we cover the Top 3 Things You Need to Know. Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced this week he is running for a fourth term as Governor of the Lone Star State. Sean Duffy, the Secretary of Transportation says California has issued 17,000 commercial drivers licenses to illegal aliens in violation of federal law. Police in New York city are searching for a gay pride flag waving vandal who defaced three churches. 12:30 Get Prodovite Plus from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. Go to vni.life/agr and use the promo code AGR20. 13:30 Crime is down in Chicago — shootings, carjackings, and violent crime have all dropped under President Trump’s Operation Midway. You’d think everyone would be celebrating, but the left isn’t cheering — they’re furious. We unpack why a safer city has made progressives so angry and what that reveals about their real priorities. 16:00 If Donald Trump cured cancer, would Democrats even take the cure? That’s the question our American Mamas — Teri Netterville and Kimberly Burleson — tackle this week. From a mother’s fight to save her daughter from a rare autoimmune disease to the political outrage that erupts any time a Trump-era name is mentioned, the Mamas dig into what’s behind the left’s reflexive hostility. Why has disagreement turned into derangement? Why does everything connected to Trump — even something meant to help people — become a trigger? 23:00 We reflect on the fading penny — not just as currency, but as a piece of American culture. From “a penny for your thoughts” to “penny wise and pound foolish,” they explore what happens when familiar sayings — and the values behind them — lose their meaning to a new generation. 25:30 Follow the money — and the movers. We're Digging Deep into a new report from Unleash Prosperity, led by economist Stephen Moore, that shows just how much wealth is fleeing blue states — and where it’s landing. We break down the staggering numbers: New York, California, Illinois, and New Jersey have lost over $1.3 trillion in income as residents pack up for freer, lower-tax states like Florida and Texas. 32:00 Get TrimROX from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. Go to vni.life/agr and use the promo code AGR20. 32:30 Can affordable healthcare actually exist in America? We dig into the failures of Obamacare — the so-called “Affordable Care Act” that doubled costs for families and made seeing a doctor harder than ever. But there may be a better way. We're joined by Francis Curry, CFO of Altrua HealthShare, to discuss how a shared-values approach to healthcare is helping families across the country find coverage at a fraction of the cost — without government subsidies or bureaucratic red tape. 40:00 We react to Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s latest non-answer — when asked if Chuck Schumer should step down, she replied that “a leader is a reflection of the party.” But is that really true? Or is it the other way around? The hosts break down how politicians spin, stall, and sidestep accountability — and why voters deserve straight answers instead of scripted talking points. Sometimes, all you can say is… whoa.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, the Democratic Party is being internally devoured by Marxism and Islamism, ideologies foreign to America's founding principles. Also, Rep Mike Lawler calls in and explains that the Democrat government shutdown was idiotic, aimed at fighting Trump and appeasing their far-left base through political leverage rather than benefiting Americans or addressing healthcare. He argues that Obamacare's affordability relies solely on federal subsidies like enhanced ACA tax credits, which he is open to extending for one year to enable fundamental fixes, as the program has driven up costs over 15 years, destroyed the system through ineffective consolidation, and failed to achieve economies of scale.  Afterward, UC Berkeley student radicals from groups including Students Organizing for Liberation, Jewish Voice for Peace, and Young Democratic Socialists of America organized protests against a Turning Point event. These protesters are anti-Israel, anti-US radicals linked to Soros operations and leftist figures like Bernie Sanders and AOC, who seek to overthrow the country rather than engage in civil debate. Finally, we thank all who served in the military, although thanks can never be enough. Veterans are a unique and shrinking breed who deserve appreciation for their sacrifices, with the country owing them a great debt. Learn more about your ad choices. Shutdown Status & Deal Progress The shutdown began on October 1 and is now at day 41. A bipartisan deal involving Republicans, President Trump, and eight moderate Democrats is close to passing. The deal would: Reopen the government until January 30. Fund programs like SNAP (food stamps), veterans benefits, and other federal services. Reverse layoffs of federal workers and block further firings until January 30. Commit to a future vote on extending Obamacare subsidies. Impact on Air Travel there are severe flight cancellations and delays due to air traffic controller shortages. FAA ordered airlines to cut flights by 4%, with Delta canceling nearly 500 flights and United following similar measures. President Trump ordered all air traffic controllers back to work and threatened pay docking for absentees, while promising $10,000 bonuses for those who worked through the shutdown. Political Dynamics Democrats are deliberately prolonging the shutdown for leverage. Internal Democratic Party civil war: Criticism of Chuck Schumer’s leadership. Calls from Democrats and media figures for Schumer to step down. Growing influence of progressive wing (e.g., Bernie Sanders, AOC faction). Republicans argue Democrats used Americans as “leverage” in a political game. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. Hubris, the Fatal Flaw A major theme throughout the hour is the fallout from the recent government shutdown, which lasted 40 days and ended with bipartisan Senate action. Clay and Buck dissect the political consequences, particularly the backlash against Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. They explore Schumer’s declining popularity, citing polling data and commentary from CNN and David Axelrod, and speculate on the possibility of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez challenging him in 2028. The hosts also discuss the broader implications of internal Democratic Party tensions, including potential challenges to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Incredible Veterans Day Stories Clay and Buck hear stories from the audience about Veterans. David “Rut” Rutherford, Former Navy SEAL and host of The David Rutherford Show, calls in to share his thoughts on this particular Veterans Day, including the uptick in enlistment under President Trump and Secretary of War Hegseth. The hour also includes a fascinating listener call from a man whose father was reportedly driving the car during General George Patton’s fatal accident, offering a firsthand rebuttal to conspiracy theories surrounding Patton’s death. Is There Still Room for John Fetterman in Today's Democratic Party?

Who owns the future of the Democratic Party? That's the question on everyone's mind since last Tuesday night—when the richest city in America elected 34-year-old democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani as its mayor. You can see Mamdani's win as a one-off—a charismatic contender facing a rival mired in controversy. But the other way to see it is as emblematic of something larger: a sign about the state—and future—of the left.  Here was a candidate promising to solve the affordability crisis with free childcare, free buses, rent freezes, and even government-run grocery stores. And despite the socialist bent, most establishment Democrats fell in line to support him—from Kathy Hochul and Hakeem Jeffries to Barack Obama, who reportedly called Mamdani to offer himself as a sounding board. If that's true—if Mamdani is the new standard-bearer for Democrats in the way Obama once was—then where does that leave someone like Senator John Fetterman? The Pennsylvania senator didn't just withhold his endorsement—he went so far as to say that socialism is not the future of the Democratic Party. It's an interesting stance, given that just a few years ago, Fetterman ran a progressive Senate campaign focused on reforming criminal justice,  legalizing marijuana, and raising the minimum wage. He was backed by AOC and Bernie Sanders. The right even called him a “silver-spoon socialist.” Then came his near-fatal stroke on the day of his Democratic primary—followed by calls from both sides to drop out. Instead, he stayed in the race and won, flipping a GOP Senate seat. Since coming to Congress, Fetterman has stood out—and not just because he's six-foot-eight. He's shown strong support for Israel, a departure from many in his party. He's said Democrats mishandled border security under Biden. He praised the president for his peace deal in Gaza—and even met with him in Mar-a-Lago. He's also publicly blamed Democrats for the government shutdown, saying: “I follow country, then party.” He refused to “play chicken with the food security of 42 million Americans,” and voted 15 times with Republicans to reopen Washington. On Sunday night, the Senate finally voted to reopen the governement—but only after 40 days of missed paychecks, travel chaos, and millions at risk of losing SNAP benefits. It was just the latest litmus test for Democrats, highlighting the divide between the centrists and the progressives—between, for lack of better words, the Fetterman wing and the Mamdani wing. And now, Democrats may have to decide which impulse to run on—in 2026, and in 2028.Today, Bari asks John Fetterman about his decision to speak out against his own party; his recent dinner with Donald Trump—and the backlash that followed; the shutdown and whether he believes the Democratic Party is heading in the right direction; and finally, his new book Unfettered, which chronicles his journey to the Senate, his stroke, his battle with depression, and his time in office.
