Im Gespräch mit Stefan Hahn, Direktor Produktmanagement bei ELMI Power, ging es um einen Bereich, der Ladeinfrastruktur derzeit spürbar verändert: batteriegepuffertes Schnellladen. Stefan und sein Team entwickeln Schnellladestationen, die einen integrierten Batteriespeicher mitbringen und damit klassische Hürden im Ausbau von HPC-Standorten umgehen. Die Idee entsteht aus dem Gedanken, Ladeprojekte wirtschaftlicher, schneller und flexibler zu realisieren. Wie Stefan es zusammenfasst: „Wir haben uns angeschaut, wie man ein Produkt machen kann, das in allen Belangen besser ist als das, was gerade am Markt ist.“ Ein zentraler Vorteil wird schnell klar: Viele Standorte scheitern bislang daran, dass für HPC-Laden ein teurer und oft jahrelang verzögerter Mittelspannungsanschluss nötig ist. LMI Power setzt stattdessen auf Niederspannung – meist innerhalb von drei Monaten verfügbar. Die Batterie gleicht die Leistungsanforderungen aus, sodass trotzdem bis zu 400 kW Ladeleistung erreichbar sind. Für Betreiber bedeutet das nicht nur geringere Anfangsinvestitionen, sondern auch deutlich schneller realisierbare Projekte. Während klassische HPC-Lader an Autobahnen weiterhin sinnvoll sind, öffnet ELMI Power mit dem Speicheransatz neue Einsatzfelder: Supermärkte, Autohäuser, Gewerbeflächen oder komplett netzferne Standorte. Stefan beschreibt sogar Off-Grid-Szenarien, bei denen große PV-Anlagen, Batteriespeicher und Ladesäulen zusammenarbeiten, um Lkw gleichzeitig mit hoher Leistung zu laden – selbst ohne Netzanschluss. „Wir können ohne Probleme auch batteriegestützte Lkw-Ladestandorte mit 30, 40, 50 Ladepunkten realisieren.“ Auch technisch hebt sich ELMI Power ab. Das Unternehmen setzt ausschließlich auf LFP-Zellen mit hoher Sicherheits- und Leistungsreserve. Die verbauten 1,4C-Zellen stammen vom Weltmarktführer und erlauben hohe Entladeströme ohne riesige Speicherkapazitäten. Laut Stefan erreichen die Module rund 8000 Zyklen bis zu 70 Prozent State of Health – ein Wert, der gerade im Dauerbetrieb entscheidend ist. Wie Batteriespeicher die Wirtschaftlichkeit von Ladeinfrastruktur deutlich verbessern Wirtschaftlich eröffnet das Konzept zusätzliche Vorteile. Neben reduzierten Netzkosten können Betreiber den Speicher nutzen, um Strom günstig am Markt einzukaufen oder eigene PV-Anlagen einzubinden. Für viele Fälle sinken damit die Bezugskosten deutlich. Gleichzeitig erwirtschaftet die Batterie Erlöse im Energiehandel, selbst wenn gerade kein Auto lädt. Dazu kommen Werbeeinnahmen über die integrierten Displays, die sich remote bespielen oder vollständig vermarkten lassen. „Wir können das Display wie einen Quadratmeter Werbefläche in die Vermarktung geben – und der Investor bekommt eine Umsatzbeteiligung.“ Dass alle Systeme SIM-vernetzt sind, erleichtert zudem Betrieb und Wartung. Von Echtzeit-Fehleranalysen bis zum Monitoring von State of Charge und State of Health lassen sich die meisten Themen remote lösen. Austausch einzelner Batteriemodule ist ebenfalls möglich. Besonders deutlich wurde im Gespräch, wie sehr batteriegestützte Lösungen Flotten und Logistikbetriebe unterstützen. Große Energiebedarfe, begrenzte Netzanschlüsse und das Ziel, die TCO stabil zu halten, treffen hier unmittelbar aufeinander. Durch Speicher, PV-Einbindung und intelligente Beschaffung sinken die Kosten pro Kilowattstunde oft unter die üblichen Energieversorgerpreise – ein zentraler Punkt im Nutzfahrzeugbereich. „Für Logistiker geht es um die Kosten pro 100 Kilometer. Und genau dort spielen wir unseren Vorteil aus.“ Jetzt aber genug der Einordnung – lass uns direkt ins Gespräch einsteigen.
