How mastering your emotions leads to greater self-awareness, control, and consistency on the course. Learning to work with this energy rather than suppress it leads to better performance and overall well-being. Unprocessed Emotions Drain Energy: When emotions aren't acknowledged or expressed, they create internal energy blocks that weigh you down and can even manifest as physical pain. Your Emotional State Affects Your Golf Game: Suppressed frustration, anger, or anxiety doesn't just disappear—it shows up in your swing, decision-making, and overall performance on the course. Energy is Neither Good nor Bad—It's How You React That Matters: Emotions themselves are neutral. Your response to them determines whether they fuel your success or hold you back. Awareness is the First Step Toward Mastery: Developing an emotional vocabulary, recognizing how emotions feel in your body, and understanding your triggers help you gain control over your energy. Slowing Down is the Shortcut to Emotional Mastery: Practicing silence, reflection, and intentional awareness allows you to regulate emotions, making you more resilient and present under pressure. Mastering Emotional Energy Leads to Peak Performance: When you control your energy, you control your mind. And when you control your mind, you control your ability to execute in golf, business, and life. Key Quotes: “Emotions are simply energy in motion. The way you manage that energy determines your success.” “If you feel stuck in your game, in your progress, or in life, chances are you're emotionally constipated.” “Your thoughts begin it, your emotions amplify it, and your actions create momentum. Your results are simply an expression of that emotional energy.” “Unprocessed emotions don't just disappear. They show up in your body as tension, pain, or even chronic injury.” “When emotions remain unmanaged or repressed, they create energy blocks that drain you physically and mentally.” “Golf isn't just a technical game—it's an emotional and energetic one. You need to master your emotions to master your game.” “Slowing down, reflecting, and listening to your emotions gives you the power to transform them into fuel for growth.” Time Stamps: 00:00: Introduction to Emotional Constipation 03:03: Understanding Emotions and Energy 06:06: The Role of Energy in Transformation 08:57: Identifying and Managing Emotions 12:02: The Science of Energy and Emotions 14:57: Vibrational Frequencies and Emotional States 18:09: The Connection Between Mind and Body 21:02: Awareness and Emotional Mastery 23:46: The Impact of Repressed Emotions 26:45: Practical Steps for Emotional Awareness 30:08: The Impermanence of Emotions 32:52: Mastering Your Energy for Life 35:56: Conclusion and Reflection

Karden is a Nervous System Medicine Practitioner, co-author of The Secret Language of the Body and co-founder of Somia international. He has been in the wellness world for over 15 years as a bodyworker and educator.  Although he helped his clients get out of pain, ironically, he began suffering from chronic back pain himself. His pain became ever more debilitating and there were times when he was bed bound, and none of the holistic or western medicine approaches were working. That's when he began studying the psycho-emotional and neurological underpinning of chronic pain and stress based disorders, which led him to clinical training in mindbody disorders and somatic trauma therapies which allowed him 100% heal my debilitating back pain. Most of you will recognize his voice from episode 494 – a twosome with fellow nervous system practitioner Jennifer Mann on signs you're storing unresolved trauma, why it's okay to be triggered and the secret language of the body.  Another great conversation with an incredible human being.  Here are some of the things we talked about in today's podcast:  ·      Feeling and acknowledging emotions is crucial for healing and well-being. ·      Repressed emotions can manifest as intense emotions when they finally surface. ·      Emotional cold plunging, gradually experiencing uncomfortable emotions, can build resilience. ·      Narrative and logic play a role in healing, but they must be combined with somatic practices. Understanding the connection between the adult brain, child brain, and animal body is crucial for regulating the nervous system. ·      The AIR model (Awareness, Interruption, Redesign) can be used to interrupt stress responses and create new neural pathways. ·      Practical techniques like physical movements (e.g., Macho Man Randy Savage) and vocalizations (e.g., voo-ah-ee) can help regulate the nervous system. ·      Rewiring neural pathways and creating new relationships with oneself are essential for emotional regulation and personal growth. ·      And more.    Sponsored by my 1:1 online coaching: https://briankeanefitness.com/one-to-one-online-coaching   Most recent appearance on the BFK podcast Episode 494 Nervous System Practitioners Jennifer Mann and Karden Rabin on Signs You're Storing Unresolved Trauma, Why It's Okay To Be Triggered and The Secret Language Of The Body! | Brian Keane Fitness   (Website) https://somiainternational.com/ (Instagram) Karden Rabin (@kardenrabin) • Instagram photos and videos (Youtube) Karden Rabin - YouTube (Facebook) www.facebook.com/kardenr (Most recent social media post) Karden Rabin (@kardenrabin) • Instagram photos and videos   Emotional Pain Free Micro Course programs.somiainternational.com

In today's episode, we dive deep into a topic that many of us can relate to: the unconscious projection of our repressed emotions. Join us as we explore how these hidden feelings can surface unexpectedly, causing us to react in ways that might surprise us. Have you ever received a text that seemed innocuous, but suddenly you felt an overwhelming surge of anger or anxiety? Maybe you interpreted the message as a personal attack, even though you knew the sender would never intend to hurt you. This reaction is a perfect example of how our unconscious mind tries to protect us, often triggering a fight, flight, or freeze response. We'll break down the science behind these reactions, focusing on the role of the autonomic nervous system, which is divided into the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The sympathetic nervous system prepares our body to face perceived threats, while the parasympathetic nervous system helps us maintain calm and balance, known as homeostasis. By understanding these mechanisms, we can better manage our reactions and develop healthier ways to cope with stress and emotional triggers. In 2006 she experienced a dramatic, spontaneous shift in realities that challenged everything she knew of the world and herself. For the next 16 years she experienced an explosion of energy, eventually understanding she was in an accelerated awakening. She has spent nearly every day since then releasing emotional, physical, and energetic pain and letting go of what she thought defined a worthy life. As the suffering released, she accessed a higher truth about the purpose of pain: that it feeds our evolution, that it teaches us to love, but only if we see it.In this episode we dicsuss the relationship between Repressed Emotions and Physical Pain...We discussed:2:25Antonia's Journey15:00The Relationship Between Emotional & Physical Pain33:15The Common Stories of Pain42:10To see Pain is Awareness46:05How We Resist Our Own Healing55:52Don't Believe Your Pain Story1:04:14Antonia's Top 3 TipsYou can find Antonia @:www.tribetocollective.com https://www.instagram.com/dismantling_the3rd_dimension/Dismantling the 3rd Dimension bookSupport the showDon't forget to leave a Rating for the podcast! You can find Leigh @:Leigh website - https://www.bodychek.co.uk/Leigh's books - https://www.bodychek.co.uk/books/ Eliminate Adult Acne Programme - https://skinwebinar.com/HEAL THEM Education Programme - http://healthemeducation.vhx.tv/ Radical Health Rebel YouTube Channel - https://www.youtube.com/@radicalhealthrebelpodcast

I am deeply passionate about redefining health by anchoring us back in the foundations of true wellness ; faith, mindset & trauma, nutrition, movement, sleep, hydration, connecting with nature and community. When we begin to rebuild our bodies and reconnect the mind, body, and spirit, we are able to step into greater and deeper healing by God's grace. This week is all about leaning into grief instead of running away from it. I got vulnerable with my own experience and how the Lord used it to teach me how to grieve, let emotions pass through instead of stay stuck, asking questions to get to the root, and ultimately just learning to become human again. How can we be fully alive if we are fully disconnected? In the realm of psychology (and in the realm of everyone's Instagram), the concept of toxic positivity has provoked intense debate and polarizing opinions. However, a deeper exploration into scientific literature reveals a thought-provoking paradox: the potential benefits of what some are quick to deem as toxic. In Part 1 of this series, co-hosts Megan Lund and Ryan Marquardt explore the intricacies of relentless positivity, highlighting research and sharing personal stories that challenge popular assumptions. Brace yourself for an intellectual journey that unravels the complex relationship between positivity and well-being, leaving you with a fresh perspective on the emotional, mental, social and physical power of "toxic positivity" (which is a term that probably needs to be rebranded at this point).Generally defined as an overemphasis on positivity to the point of suppressing negative emotions, this episode highlights the subjective nature of the term. While also recognizing the "negative" effects associated with toxic positivity, Megan and Ryan present thought-provoking counter-arguments and propose new dialogue around the issue. Navigating  various aspects of toxic positivity, Megan and Ryan dish on everything from emotional suppression, spiritual bypassing and spiritual narcissism to the cult of positivity, the impact of toxic positivity on marginalized communities, and the correlation between toxic positivity and capitalism. While acknowledging the concerns and criticisms surrounding this new age buzzword, Megan and Ryan offer compelling insights, drawing from their own experiences and research, to present a more nuanced perspective.Amidst the discussion, they also highlight the positive effects of what some may label as toxic positivity, such as a longer life expectancy, improved physical health, increased resilience, enhanced creativity and productivity, greater happiness and life satisfaction, improved mental health, more satisfying relationships and beyond. They draw a connection between spirituality and toxic positivity, exploring how new age concepts like The Law of Attraction and The Law of Assumption can be both beneficial and misguided.Part 1 sets the stage, asking listeners to consider if it's possible to uphold a persistently positive outlook on life without sacrificing authenticity or refusing to engage in the prismatic emotional experiences that come with being human. Approaching the topic with an open-minded passion and a knack for playing devil's advocate, Megan and Ryan seek to create a space where diverse perspectives can be shared and understood. Stay tuned for Part 2, where they will further explore intricate themes related to toxic positivity, reveal eye-opening research that represents all sides of this debate, and offer credible action steps that will help you be more nimble with negative and positive mindsets.Additional ResourcesClairannoyance InstagramClairannoyance TikTok (follow now - launching soon!)Clairannoyance WebsiteMegan's InstagramMegan's TikTokMegan's WebsiteRyan's InstagramRyan's TikTokRyan's Website

In this episode Christy and Rob discuss: The consequence of repressing emotions  Embracing joy and sorrow  Dealing with repressed emotions  Key Takeaways:  Repressing uncomfortable emotions comes at a very steep price. Limitations, depression, anxiety, fatigue, and loneliness are some examples of the consequences that we face when we repress our emotions.  Joy and sorrow are two sides of the very same coin and learning how to embrace both is the secret to living a very rich, full, and satisfying life.  What you resist, persists. Pretending that you're not feeling what you're feeling will only prolong that emotional reaction and lead to more experience, preventing you from transcending that.    “Authenticity is the prerequisite for happiness. [00:26:30] Quotes: “Swearing does not mean you're ignorant, it does not mean you're classless, and it definitely does not mean you're sinful.” “Swearing can be a very freeing experience.” “Practicing healthy swearing therapy means you are not using words as a weapon. You are expressing yourself knowing some may disapproval, but you are not causing hurt or pain. For me, it's an act of freedom. It's me saying that my body comes first over pleasing." You will love this episode - my conversation with Phillip Mountrose (holistic/spiritual coach and energy healer) included an experiential exercise in how to shift to "living life from the mountaintop" which puts one in touch with their soul. Phillip and his wife Jane are the authors of multiple books, including their latest - The Loving Power of Your Soul: A Guidebook for Realizing Your True Potential.  We talked about the soul and especially how to connect to it. Awakening can be defined as "being fully connected to and led by your soul or your true self". Phillip spoke about soul presence, one's soul plan, soulfulness, and what he calls soulful kinesiology. And I agreed 100% when he said connection to soul leads to unity and wholeness. In other words working on soul connection is a very powerful way of awakening, oneness, and achieving wholeness in its fullest sense - spiritual, physical, mental, etc. This was a delightful conversation. You can learn much more about Phillip and Jane on their website: gettingthru.org/holistic. Originally from Turkey, psychologist Barlas Günay has lived and worked around the world. He received his BA in psychology in the US, was in the Turkish army for a year, where he worked with soldiers who suffered from combat-related PTSD. He then applied for the University of Ontario's clinical psychology graduate program, where he received his masters degree. He then practiced privately in Turkey before moving to the Netherlands, where he currently lives with his wife and new baby. He specializes in schema-focused therapy (SFT) and mindfulness techniques. Topics discussed on this episode include: ■ How emotions are viewed, expressed (and repressed) differently in various parts of the world ■ The demonization of emotions (the negative effects of labeling emotions as either good or bad and how to practice “accept and act”)■ How to know when not to react based upon our emotions and how to identify when our bodies are in fight or flight mode■ Why doing nothing is often the hardest thing to do■ How reading into micro-expressions and creating narratives in our minds about people's behavior can cause unnecessary drama in our lives (i.e. waiting for a text back and assuming someone hates us/is never going to speak to us again)■ “Main character syndrome” and thinking the world revolves around us (how embracing “it's not all about you” can radically transform our lives and relieve much of our self-inflicted pain) ■ How to tell if you're interacting with others from the perspective of your True Self or through your “programming” (becoming conscious of when our “vulnerable inner child” takes hold) ■ How reenacting our childhood in adulthood keeps us stuck (and how to break out of this cycle) ■ Barlas' own struggles with drugs and alcohol to cope with the pressures of perfectionism ■ How emotional dysregulation manifests in childhood and using schema therapy to empower the “healthy adult mode” within ourselves■ How to released repressed emotions (crying, anger work, etc.) ■ How to start seeing anger as your friend, not your enemy (the role abandonment rage plays in borderline personality disorder (BPD)■ How the belief that we are unlovable starts in infancy due to what Barlas describes as “magical omnipotence” (and how to dismantle those beliefs) ■ How to handle the negative reactions that might come our way as we begin to pursue our own recovery journeys and how to let some relationships go in the process ■ How trying to “get resolution” with our parents is often a pointless exercise (how to release the desire for closure with our families of origin, find forgiveness, healing and a way forward) ■ Inner critic work (using schema therapy to explore the concept of ‘punitive parent mode')Book mentioned on this episode: Breaking Down the Wall of Silence by Alice MillerConnect with Barlas: https://www.instagram.com/acceptandact/Join the BFTB community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/backfromtheborderlineFollow the podcast on IG: instagram.com/bpdtea/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

In addition to her clinical work, which she does virtually with clients across the globe, Serena speaks on the topics of identifying and releasing repressed emotions as a means to alleviate pain and improve health & performance and is the author of the book Pain: A Love Story.  Sensitive Rebels aren't all people who are highly expressive or overtly emotional. One of the reasons I wanted to have Serena on the podcast is because of her experience of having her emotional side be unsupported and being someone who coped with that by learning to repress her emotions. In my view, seeking therapy is not as stigmatized as it once was. People are more willing to seek help when they're unable to manage their everyday existence on their own. Therapy is not only for those who have experienced trauma in their lives, but it is also for those who experience any of life's challenges and need help to manage them. Moms, if you're tired of exerting energy and cleaning your house, get a housekeeper. If you're tired of cooking every damn day, order take out. If you've given up all of the things you enjoy, don't do it anymore. If your career no longer serves you well, change it. If you need to vent to avoid exploding on your family, talk to a professional. Dr. Tai shares her expertise and offers ways for the every day woman to feel and be more at peace and aligned with how she wants to live her best life. Dr. Tai is a licensed psychologist. Her formal education includes a BA from Spelman College and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She completed both a pre and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California Irvine and has over 12 years of professional experience, which includes clinical practice and mental health consulting. Dr. Tai specializes in working with ambitious professionals who struggle with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and career and relationship issues. In 2017, she founded The Black Girl Doctor, a virtual mental health practice specializing in therapy for professional Black women. Her practice is rooted in a social justice mission that asserts, Black women deserve joy -- especially those who are called and who answer that call to do great things. Essentially, the mindbody connection is a theory that states that repressed emotions from childhood trauma are stored in the body, and can manifest as chronic pain and other mystery symptoms. The solution is to allow oneself to feel those repressed emotions, which Adriana did very reluctantly at first as this was truly hard to believe. Lo and behold, doing this inner work worked for her and she has been spreading the message ever since. In this episode, we discuss the importance of letting yourself feel all of your emotions, how emotions can turn physical, growing up with a narcissistic parent, recovering from emotional abuse, loyalty vs. abuse, setting boundaries, and more.FOLLOW ADRIANA:WEBSITE: www.letsgetyourshifttogether.com/INSTA: @letsgetyourshifttogetherCONTACT TARA:INSTA: @tara.mont / @trustandthriveYOUTUBE: Tara MontFACEBOOK: bit.ly/FBtaramontWEBSITE: www.tara-mont.comEMAIL: tara@tara-mont.com
