In this episode of The President's Daily Brief: First up — new reporting reveals how a five-minute phone call between President Trump and Nicolás Maduro may have sealed the Venezuelan strongman's fate, as misread intentions helped turn diplomacy into military action and, ultimately, a prison cell. Later in the show — amid mounting pressure on Tehran, the CIA launches a rare recruitment push aimed directly at Iranians. Plus — the United Kingdom slaps sanctions on nearly 300 Russian-linked entities after an email blunder exposed a network of illicit oil traders tied to Moscow's energy and military sectors. And in today's Back of the Brief — Russia accuses Ukraine of seeking to acquire a nuclear weapon with help from the UK and France, a claim Kyiv and Western officials dismiss as baseless disinformation. Henry VII was dying… but as the first Tudor monarch slowly drifted towards death, in London the city was stilled gripped by the terrible regime of his loyal lapdog, Edmund Dudley. As the kings health began to decline, the arrests continued, the terror remained, but around him, various figures, from the desperate Catherine of Aragon, to the kings elderly but wise mother, began to sense the growing anger towards the regime, and made careful moves to make sure the correct scapegoats were prepared. This week we follow the incredible transformation of young prince Henry, the intricate politics of the court, London surviving oppression and epidemic, and the final retribution inflicted upon those chosen to take the fall for the late King's folly's.Cover shows the terracotta portrait bust of Henry VII by Pietro Torrigiano.

Acts 2:1-21 - A Calvary Perspective - Pastor Dan PlourdeMESSAGE NOTES:http://www.calvaryword.com/Acts2026/a1445.pdf
1. Walking With Wisdom2. Always Being Filled3. Living a Life of JoyToday's sermon explored what it means to truly "look ahead" as believers living in what the Bible calls the Last Days. We examined how the signs around us—increasing lawlessness, wars and rumors of wars, the rise of secularism, and the rejection of absolute truth—all point to Christ's imminent return. Rather than causing us to live in fear or depression, this reality should awaken us to live with purpose, wisdom, and joy. We explored three key areas: walking with wisdom in a spiritually sleeping world, being continually filled with the Holy Spirit's power, and living a life characterized by genuine joy and thanksgiving. Let us examine whether we're wasting our lives on temporary things or investing in eternity, and to make ourselves available as instruments in God's hands during these critical days.Takeaways:- Wake up and walk with wisdom. We cannot afford to be spiritually asleep while the world around us abandons God. We must be alert, making the most of our time, understanding that tomorrow is not guaranteed. The question we must ask ourselves is: Are we allowing our faith to breathe and come alive, or is it confined to Sunday mornings? God desires all people to be saved, and we must be His voice of reason and warning to those around us.- Be continually filled with the Holy Spirit. While we receive the Holy Spirit at conversion, we need regular "refills" of His power and influence in our lives. This means dying to ourselves, surrendering to God's will, pursuing purity, and not grieving the Spirit through habitual sin. We must examine our hearts honestly: Is there anything—even "good things" like hobbies or sports—that is consuming our time and robbing us of becoming who God has called us to be? Don't waste or squander your high calling.- Live with overflowing joy and thanksgiving. When we are filled with the Spirit, joy naturally flows from our lives. We encourage one another, sing praises to the Lord, and give thanks in all circumstances. This isn't manufactured happiness but the fruit of being refreshed by God's power and ready to be used by Him. Our joy becomes a testimony to others and creates a welcoming atmosphere that draws people to Christ. As we look ahead to Christ's return, let's not be found sleeping. Let's make every day count for eternity, continually seeking fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit, and living with a joy that can only come from knowing our redemption draws near.May the Lord bless you and keep you this week as you walk in His wisdom and power.

INTRODUCTORY MESSAGE TO 10:43 AND THEN WORSHIP SONG AND MESSAGE ending at 59:23. These prophetic messages are preached by the casting of the lot before the LORD to receive any two possible chapters from the Bible using a Random Bible application. The 2 chapters confirm each other to be of God by the common theme discovered in those chapters. Today's message is on Acts 10 and Psalms 119 and is 59 minutes and 23 seconds long. It is also usually on many other scriptures received by the casting of the lot before the LORD in the week.
Living in the Last Days Pt. 1: Life In Three Dimensions 1 Thess. 1:1-10 By Louie Marsh, 2-22-2026 "16But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: 17" 'And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh…(Acts 2:16a, ESV) TO LIVE IN THE LAST DAYS I NEED… Three Graces to MOTIVATE me. 1) FAITH "3remembering before our God and Father your work of faith… (1 Thessalonians 1:3a, ESV) Work = a job or task · Faith brings us into SALVATION. "8For by grace you have been saved through faith… (Ephesians 2:8, ESV) · Faith looks BACK. (TO THE CROSS) "20I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20, ESV) · Faith always produces ACTION. "26For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead." (James 2:26, ESV) 2) LOVE "3…your…labor of love… (1 Thessalonians 1:3b, ESV) labor = to cut, beat and used of working bread dough · Love is my response to GOD LOVING me. "19We love because he first loved us." (1 John 4:19, ESV) · Love looks at the NOW. "17But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?" (1 John 3:17, ESV) · Love keeps me GOING through the tough times. "18Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." (1 John 3:18, ESV) 3) HOPE "3…and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 1:3, ESV) · Hope keeps me from GIVING UP. "4For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." (Romans 15:4, ESV) · Hope looks AHEAD. "24For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience." (Romans 8:24–25, ESV) · Hope is just as IMPORTANT as faith & Love. [1 Cor. 13; Gal. 5:5-6; Col. 1:4-5; Heb. 10:22-24; 1 Pet. 1:22-23; 1 Thess. 5:8] 4) AIDS TO COMMUNICATE God's plan · The CONTENT of the gospel. "5because our gospel came to you not only in word…(1 Thessalonians 1:5a, ESV) · God's POWER "5… but also in power…(1 Thessalonians 1:5b, ESV) · BEING FILLED with the Holy Spirit. "5… and in the Holy Spirit..." (1 Thessalonians 1:5c, ESV) · A vital FAITH in Christ. "5… and with full conviction." (1 Thessalonians 1:5d, ESV) 5) Necessary RESPONSES TO GOD · I must TURN from my idols "9For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols…(1 Thessalonians 1:9a, ESV) · I must live to SERVE God alone. "9…to serve the living and true God," (1 Thessalonians 1:9b, ESV) · I must LOOK FORWARD to Christ's return. "10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come." (1 Thessalonians 1:10, ESV)

In this creative nonfiction work, Eiren talks about her family's long history with a chronic illness (specifically, polycystic kidney disease (PKD)) and connects that to the health of the waterways and living creatures in Maine. It is a master work that merges scientific writing with poetic language. We also talk about her novel, All the Water in the World, which came out less than six months after The Mourner's Bestiary. Matthew 24:1-14 24 Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple.2 But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”Signs of the End of the Age3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”4 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray.5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray.6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake.10 And then many will fall away[a] and betray one another and hate one another.11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. A @Christadelphians Video: **YouTube Video Summary / Description**In a world where society's moral compass is shifting, how can we hold fast to unchanging truth? This thought-provoking Bible talk offers an insightful examination of the clash between modern moral relativism and the absolute moral truth of Scripture. We explore the sobering prophecies of 2 Timothy 3 and Luke 17, revealing how the "creep of the normal" and the legitimate distractions of life pose the greatest danger to believers in the last days. Through an expositional look at the days of Noah and Lot, we uncover powerful lessons on remaining a separate and faithful remnant. This presentation is a powerful call to put on the whole armor of God, hide His Word in our hearts, and stand firm in these perilous times as we await the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.**Chapters / Timestamps:**0:00 - Introduction: The Danger to Disciples0:44 - The Last Days Prophecy in 2 Timothy 32:54 - Defining the "Last Days" and the Day of the Lord4:08 - The Patterns of Noah and Lot in Luke 176:15 - Exploring the Themes of Noah's and Lot's Day9:53 - Summary: Widespread Godlessness and Pride10:46 - The Danger of the "Mundane" and "Normal"14:08 - The Attitude of Abraham vs. The Compromise of Lot16:45 - God's Grace, Mercy, and Human Choice18:08 - The Call to be Separate and Unspotted20:25 - Conclusion: Standing Firm in the Evil Day21:09 - Digging Deeper: Introduction & Recap22:08 - How Moral Prophecy Helps Realign Our Lives23:42 - Discerning Safe vs. Spiritually Dangerous Habits26:59 - Guarding Against the "Creep of the Normal"30:31 - Finding Hope in Last Days Prophecies33:25 - Final Thanks and Closing**Bible Verses Used:**

On the morning of December 2, 2025, a mother at work checked the surveillance camera in her Elk Grove home and saw her eleven-year-old son lying motionless on the floor. Officers from the Elk Grove Police Department responded to the 7600 block of Ferrell Way and found Mar Aris Untalan Morales with multiple stab wounds. The boy was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His father, Marvin Morales, was gone.THE SUSPECT:Marvin Morales was a Sacramento County Sheriff's Office deputy from 2017 until his forced resignation in February 2024. His career unraveled on October 24, 2023, when fellow deputies found him unresponsive on the floor of a restroom at the Central Division station. Body camera footage captured deputies administering Narcan to revive him from what turned out to be a fentanyl overdose. The internal investigation that followed revealed Morales had confiscated narcotics from citizens during field stops, then kept them for personal use. He admitted to taking a methamphetamine pipe home and smoking the residue three to four times over four months, claiming the drugs gave him the energy he needed to write reports. On the day he collapsed, he had seized fentanyl from a suspect and smoked it in the station bathroom while still in full uniform.THE AFTERMATH:Morales resigned in February 2024 ahead of his termination and was subsequently decertified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office released over four hundred pages of internal investigation documents, photographs, and body camera video detailing his drug use, evidence tampering, and dishonesty. Sheriff Jim Cooper called it a horrible embarrassment for the department.THE CRIME:Less than two years after his firing, Morales was watching his two children at the family home in Elk Grove when he fatally stabbed his eleven-year-old son. A six-year-old girl was also in the home at the time but was not physically harmed. She was later evaluated at a hospital and released to her mother.THE PURSUIT:After the stabbing, Morales fled in his vehicle. Law enforcement agencies across Sacramento County were alerted and spotted him driving southbound on Interstate 5. A pursuit ensued at speeds exceeding one hundred miles per hour. Near the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 12, Morales stopped his vehicle and, according to deputies on scene, produced what appeared to be a rifle and pointed it toward officers. Multiple officers from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and other agencies fired, striking Morales. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The California Department of Justice opened an investigation into the officer-involved shooting.CURRENT STATUS:The Elk Grove Police Department Investigations Bureau continues to lead the homicide investigation into the death of Mar Aris Untalan Morales.Learn more about this case at https://www.mythsandmalice.com/show/obscura/Support Obscura: https://www.patreon.com/obscuracrimepodcast/Our Sponsors:* Check out BetterHelp: https://www.betterhelp.com* Check out Chime: https://chime.com/OBSCURA* Check out Mood and use my code OBSCURA for a great deal: https://mood.com* Check out Quince: https://quince.com/OBSCURA* Check out TruDiagnostic and use my code OBSCURA20 for a great deal: https://www.trudiagnostic.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/obscura-a-true-crime-podcast/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
My friend and filmmaker Sarey Concepción and I got to sit down with Justin Lin — yeah, that Justin Lin, the Fast and Furious guy — but this time he's not racing cars, he's exploring the too-fast-too-furious side of evangelical missions gone to the extreme. His new film Last Days tells the story of John Chau, the young American missionary who was killed trying to bring the gospel to the uncontacted Sentinelese tribe off the coast of India. If you remember, two years ago we screened the documentary about this story at Theology Beer Camp, and this is a totally different angle — a scripted Hollywood film from an outsider to Christianity who read the news story, had the same eye-roll most of us did, and then did what good artists do: made something to understand what he couldn't dismiss. What's remarkable is that Justin took the time to get to know the diversity within evangelicalism, so you get characters ranging from the hardcore adventure missionaries who are basically Carmen San Diego with Bibles, to John's immigrant father wrestling with how his roughest years shaped his son's path, to a parallel storyline with an Indian police officer whose own experience with religion's harm makes her a mirror image of John's conviction. It's a film about faith without being a faith-based film — it doesn't mock John or martyrize him — and it creates this cognitive empathy where you get to sit with the logic that says if people really are going to hell, why wouldn't you risk everything? Sarey and I unpack the father-son dynamics, the theological engine of unreached people groups and unlocking the second coming, those surprisingly sexy Australian missionaries, and why the Voyage of the Dawn Treader might be the most spiritually dangerous book in the Narnia series. We also may have invented the entire backstory of the Presbyterian minister with a Tesla who stole someone's missionary girlfriend, and honestly, Justin should use it for the sequel. You can WATCH the conversation on YouTube Join us at Theology Beer Camp, October 8-10, in Kansas City! UPCOMING ONLINE LENT CLASS: Jesus in Galilee w/ John Dominic Crossan What can we actually know about Jesus of Nazareth? And, what difference does it make? This Lenten class begins where all of Dr. John Dominic Crossan's has work begins: with history. What was actually happening in Galilee in the 20s CE? What did Herod Antipas' transformation of the "Sea of Galilee" into the commercial "Sea of Tiberias" mean for peasant fishing communities? Why did Jesus emerge from John's baptism movement proclaiming God's Rule through parables—and what made that medium so perfectly suited to that message? David Wilkerson's “Last Days” sermon is a sober warning drawn from Scripture that the final period before Christ's return will be marked not only by outward turmoil, but by deep spiritual decline, deception, and lukewarm faith within the church itself. Wilkerson emphasizes that the greatest danger is not wars or disasters, but believers drifting from holiness, becoming distracted by worldly pursuits, and losing their urgency for repentance and prayer. He calls Christians to remain spiritually awake, grounded in God's Word, and fully committed to Christ, stressing that the faithful remnant will endure by maintaining purity, discernment, and unwavering trust in God's promises as the world grows increasingly unstable.
In this episode, I sit down with Jamie Walden — founder of Omega Dynamics, former Marine infantryman, police officer, firefighter/paramedic, missionary, and resilience trainer — for a powerful conversation about faith, discernment, and navigating uncertain times. We begin by discussing unusual global weather patterns and why many people are paying closer attention to environmental shifts happening around the world.Jamie shares how he views these changes through a biblical worldview and why conversations around awareness, preparedness, and spiritual grounding are becoming more relevant. We also explore the long tradition of watching for “signs in the heavens,” and how faith communities have historically interpreted natural events, cultural shifts, and global instability as reminders to stay spiritually anchored and discerning.More than anything, this conversation centers on how to remain steady when the world feels uncertain. Jamie speaks about spiritual resilience, overcoming fear-driven narratives, and strengthening faith, family, and community as the foundation for navigating whatever lies ahead.Important note:To keep this episode YouTube-friendly, I had to make careful edits and remove portions of our discussion. Episode Summary: In this episode of "90 Miles from Needles: The Desert Protection Podcast," host Chris Clarke discusses the pressing environmental issues faced by the American Southwest with guest Zak Podmore. The discussion centers around the potential for San Juan County, Utah, to become a storage site for nuclear waste. The conversation explores the environmental and social justice implications of such initiatives, pointing out the burden placed on historically underserved communities that have already borne a disproportionate share of impacts from the nuclear industry. The episode also explores the possibilities for the future of the Colorado River and the diminishing Lake Powell. Zak Podmore provides insights into what lower reservoir levels mean for the region's ecosystems and water management strategies. Encouraging discussions about restoring Glen Canyon and possibly decommissioning Glen Canyon Dam, the conversation transcends mere environmental discourse, hinting at a broader narrative of resilience and adaptation. Key Takeaways: Nuclear Waste Storage Concerns: The proposal to store nuclear waste in Southeast Utah raises significant environmental and social justice issues. Glen Canyon Restoration: Lower water levels in Lake Powell reveal the adaptive potential of natural ecosystems, opening doors for restoration opportunities like decommissioning the Glen Canyon Dam. Climate Change Impacts: The episode reflects the looming threat of climate change-induced drought in the Colorado River Basin and its implications for water management in the Southwest. Community Resistance: Zak Podmore emphasizes the importance of community awareness and resistance against potentially harmful environmental policies. Historic Environmental Advocacy: Insights into past environmental battles, including the roles of figures like David Brower, remind listeners of the enduring fight for ecological preservation. Notable Quotes: "These meetings were held, the nonprofits involved said they were just listening sessions. They said, we're not trying to actually bring radioactive waste to your area. We're just here to listen and provide information." — Zak Podmore "I don't think that's a very valid argument. But even if you really believe that, they still leave out the impacts from all the rest of the nuclear fuel cycle." — Zak Podmore "The ecosystems are incredibly resilient and they're recovering faster than anyone expected." — Zak Podmore "It's a dire situation for 40 million people who get water from the Colorado River throughout the Southwest." — Zak Podmore "If you give Glen Canyon, this famous place that was lost to the Glen Canyon Dam in the 1960s, a chance to recover, it will come back." — Zak Podmore Resources: Zak Podmore's Website Zak’s Substack "Life After Deadpool: Lake Powell’s Last Days and the Rebirth of the Colorado River" Listen to the full episode to engage deeply with these issues and explore further enlightening insights from "90 Miles from Needles: The Desert Protection Podcast." Acts 2:16–21 | Hebrews 1:1–2 | 1 John 2:18 16 But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;20 the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. As we begin our new sermon series through the book of Hebrews, pastor Matt reminds us of a life-changing truth: The living God has spoken fully and finally by his Son. All that we need to know about the one true God, his plan of salvation, and his purpose for creation is found supremely in Jesus Christ, for he himself is the Word of God.
Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 78 In 2 Peter 3, we read about "scoffers" or "mockers" coming in the last days. Some modern prophecy writers accuse preterists of being these "scoffers." Gary disputes this claim by using the Bible to interpret itself and also by recognizing the Bible's own timing of when the last days take place.
