Pages from the Nashville shooter's manifesto leaked online, and they show disturbing anti-white and anti-Christian rhetoric. Now that we have a glimpse into what motivated Audrey Hale to commit her horrible attack, it's becoming clear we need the rest released. The public deserves to have a complete understanding of what motivated this monster, and questions will remain until everything comes out. Bill Maher slammed progressives celebrating anti-Semitism and even celebrating Hamas. A group of pro-Palestinian supporters scaled the White House fence during a protest and will likely suffer no consequences because our justice system is biased and flawed. We're joined by Kari Lake, candidate for U.S. Senate in Arizona, to discuss her campaign and the important issues she wants to tackle if she wins. Kari is prioritizing the border, the economy, and energy independence. Why does this Arizona race matter nationally? Why is Chad endorsing Kari Lake for U.S. Senate? On today's show, we break down everything that happened Sunday in Nasvhille, as the Cincinnati Bengals bested the Tennessee Titans by a final margin of 20-16. We start off with some focus on where the Bengals now stand in the AFC. Then, we pivot to a discussion on how well this offense has played in the absence of Ja'Marr Chase. We look at how Tee Higgins truly rounding into WR1 form and the way Joe Burrow is spreading it around the field with this Bengals offense. Then, we move into a dive into a masterclass defensive performance from the defense against the league's most dominant running back, as they held Derrick Henry in check all day long. Later, we look at how impressive Cam Taylor-Britt was on Sunday, plus what's next for the rookie corner. We jump back to the offense for a discussion about Samaje Perine's breakout, plus why Chris Evans might soon find himself inactive. We hit on the offensive line and provide our stars of the week to wrap up the Titans game. Then, we close with some discussion about the AFC Playoff race after the Baltimore Ravens dropped one to the Jacksonville Jaguars to tie the Bengals at 7-4.

Season 2 of WPLN's The Promise takes on one of the most contentious topics in America, what has been deemed the "Great Equalizer", but more and more feels like the Great Divider: Public Education. In May of 1963, President Kennedy addressed the graduates of Vanderbilt University (a full year before they would admit their first Black student), and said, "I speak to you ... not of your rights as Americans, but of your responsibilities... They do not rest with equal weight upon the shoulders of all. For, of those to whom much is given, much is required."More than 55 years later, reporter Meribah Knight, found a community just 3 miles away grappling with this very question with regards to the schools in the neighborhood. In particular, Warner Elementary (90% Black and 96% economically disadvantaged), and Lockeland Elementary (90% White and 3% economically disadvantaged). We interview special guest country singer Eric DoddAbout Eric Dodd:Eric Dodd grew up in Lake Oconee, Ga. chasing two things: golf balls and guitar. He had a passion and natural gift for both. He earned a golf scholarship to Georgia College and State University, where he majored in business. When he wasn’t playing in golf tournaments, he was playing in frat houses with his band. He eventually transferred to the University of Georgia to pursue a music business degree and immerse himself in the fertile Athens music scene (R.E.M, Drive-By Truckers). But in the end, it was lyrics over links that brought him to Music City. Dodd first gained national attention as a CMT Discovery Artist, but he honed his craft playing more than 200 dates a year throughout the southeast performing in clubs, SEC colleges, and music halls where his likable personality, feel-good lyrics, musicianship, and energetic stage presence earned him a faithful following in a region with strong musical tastes and a deep pool of talent. “I always aim for my shows to be engaging,” he explained of the years spent playing gigs and sleeping in a van to make ends meet. “Music is an escape from reality, and I want to give people that and take them on a trip during the hour I get with them.” He’s opened for Sam Hunt, Old Dominion, Jake Owen, Corey Smith, Cole Swindell, Zac Brown Band, and recently for Sister Hazel, which was especially meaningful. “Opening up for Sister Hazel's sold out show at the Georgia Theatre in Athens (Georgia) has to be one of my favorite moments onstage,” Dodd offered. “I earned my music business degree from UGA so it was one of those full circle moments.”His musical journey has him weaving seamlessly between rock, country, and Americana with themes that speak to the heart of Friday night, as well as Monday morning. As a songwriter, he can be sweetly nostalgic and equally rambunctious. On “The Reason,” the debut single from his upcoming self-titled EP, Dodd sings with equal parts ache and authenticity. Inspired by the example of his grandparents, Dodd writes about love and relationships with a heightened level of sincerity, respect, and honesty. “That’s the type of love that lasts and inspires me,” he says with full candor. “There are ups and downs of course, but that is the love that endures and sets the bar for every generation that follows. It’s something I want to live up to in my own marriage.” He’s a romantic with a wild side. Dodd also sang and co-wrote the theme song for “Wild Outdoors,” the longest running series on The Sportsman’s Channel. Dodd has also leant his talent to the Georgia Music Foundation, which supports cultural enrichment and music education programs in the state. Since arriving in Nashville, Dodd has assembled an outstanding group of industry veterans and business leaders to help him reach his career goals including management and label services with Jeffrey Gaccione at Gasworks Entertainment and an exclusive physical and digital distribution deal with The Orchard. Dodd is also a songwriter at MV2 Entertainment, which has a roster of No. 1 hit songwriters including Terry McBride, Clay Mills, and another Georgia native, Thomas Archer. “Whether it's writing songs or playing shows, it's all about getting to the people and keeping in touch with them," said Dodd.

JONATHAN KLUNK, PRESIDENT OF KEY SOURCE PROPERTIES, JOINS US TO DISCUSS SHORT-TERM RENTALS (AIRBNB), WHICH ARE HUGE IN LOUISVILLE DURING KENTUCKY DERBY TIME. Jonathan got his start in short-term rentals by trying it out on his own, which caused him to realize how little others knew about the budding industry. He was interested to see if his property would get demand for Kentucky Derby, and was shocked at how quickly his property became booked. After requests from his friends to help them out with their Airbnbs, he decided to start a side business. The perfect Airbnb property? Jonathan says you should strive to make your property as unique and interesting as possible. Many people love staying in Airbnbs that remind them of hotels, so you should have all the same amenities somebody would ordinarily find in a hotel. Also, remember your guests are on vacation, so they don't necessarily want to stay in a house that reminds them of their own home - your property should be eclectic and unique to stand out in a crowded market! While you might think of Airbnb as somebody staying at your house on weekends, it is becoming more common for investors to purchase properties and use them exclusively for Airbnb/short-term rentals. Additionally, Jonathan has never run into a situation where a property was trashed, so if you're worried about somebody messing up your house that should not be a concern. It could also be a great idea to purchase a property in a city you like to visit and renting it out on Airbnb to cover your costs. While building his company, one of Jonathan's keys was starting it as a side business and being able to grow it while still keeping a full-time job. Jonathan also sees a growing market for corporate rentals - rentals that are greater than 30 days that are popular with business executives. There are also less regulatory hurdles if you operate your property this way - as it is not considered a "short-term" rental property. Some considerations if you're interested in owning a short-term rental property: State and city taxes (including transient/hotel taxes). Increase in property insurance. There is more competition today due to the popularity of Airbnb, so it is important to get in the game early to have more reviews for potential customers to view. In addition to Airbnb, there is a growing market for VRBO (Vacation Rental by Owner) as well as other alternatives for people looking to get into the short-term rental business. The biggest thing Jonathan has learned being an entrepreneur is how to be a great salesman.  Jonathan's favorite thing about the Kentucky Derby is the excitement it brings to the City of Louisville.  Key Source Properties is looking to expand in the Nasvhille, Lexington, and Frankfort markets in the next year as well as expanding into different services.   LAST CALL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: What’s your definition of success?  Have a nice retirement.  Be happy with the trajectory of the business.  What advice would you give to somebody who wants to be an entrepreneur?  Whenever you thing the time is right you need to just do it.  Nobody know for sure what will happen.  What advice would you give to your 22 year old self?  To be a sponge and learn about everything - read more.  What advice would your 60-year-old self give you today? It's a story we have all heard before. An aspiring musician moves to Nashville, with $200 in his pocket, a truck full of clothes and a big dream. Well, Nick Cross's story may have started out like many, but it sure will not end up like most.Within two hours of arriving on Broadway, he was already on stage at Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge. Within two days he became an official Tootsies performing artist, and within three weeks he had broken attendance records and pulled in more tips than most musicians had ever seen in one night. Pretty impressive for a small town boy from Indiana.Nick was born and raised in Lawrenceville, Illinois and later moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He grew up in a small town, “4900 people is what it says on the sign, but I think they was countin' cats and dogs too.” As far back as age 2 his mother recalls Nick having a passion for music. His father had a country band called The Ghostriders, and numerous cousins and uncles played music as well.“When you go to a family reunion, it's like 100 freakin' guitars. I come from a big musical family”.As a little boy, Nick remembers going to his dad's band practice and fooling around with their equipment and instruments. By age six he had played his first beat. It was a back beat on the drums to “Honkey Tonk Women” by the Rolling Stones. That's when he recalls he got his music bug. From then on, Nick would steal his moms Tupperware bowls and bang on her pots and pans. The following year for Christmas, Nick's parents surprised him with his very own drum set and a note that said, “Stay out of your mom's Tupperware.” He then went on to pick up the guitar, but was primarily a drummer until about age 12. By age 17 he was playing twelve instruments and winning talent competitions, but that wasn't enough for Nick Cross. He wanted to be a singer“I remember praying to God one day going down the road in my truck and I was like, ‘I would give up every instrument I could play, if I could only sing', and then it just hit me like an epiphany. God or my conscience or whatever told me, ‘listen, you didn't learn how to play drums overnight. You didn't learn how to play guitar overnight. You had to work at it and the same thing is gonna be that way for singin..You're gonna have to work at it.”Nick got his first paying gig as a singer at age 18 and started his first band as the front man. Since then, his experience as a musician has led him to songwriting and he can now play over 18 instruments.Undoubtedly talented, Nick's growing success isn't solely attributed to his singing or instrumental skills. Nick is an entertainer.“You have a lot of power when you're on stage. You can make them people sad, you can remind them of a lost loved one, you can fire ‘em up to where they are ready to fight...” “...Someone that's never danced, never breaks outta their shell...you play the right song and that persons gonna jump right outta their chair, look at ya and be like ‘hell yeah dude. I love this song' and it might be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company on vacation here in Nasvhille. And guess what, now he's out there shakin' his ass, wavin his beer up in the air and he's just let life go right out the window.”But Nick captivates his audience with his charisma, not just his talent. He draws them in, connects with them, and plays what he knows they want to hear. It just comes natural for him. Most importantly, he keeps them there. His biggest supporters are his fans.“For every 10 people I meet, 9 people love me. One of them doesn't. One of them thinks I'm too cocky, or they think I'm whatever...just another gimmick. But there is 9 out of 10 that love me”.Although Nick's growing success in Nashville has him performing multiple nights throughout the week, he is also in the recording studio working on his first album. And he feels like he's accomplished a lot in his short time in Nashville, but he's not even close to settling. There is a lot more in store for this country boy.“I don't care if I ever get famous, really, I don't. Singin is something that if it comes [fame], that's cool, if it don't, that's cool too. I just wanna play music for a living instead of swinging a hammer. My whole life that's all I ever thought about doing – being a professional musician. Now I can say that. I'm a Nashville Recording Artist, a country singer, living and playing in Nashville, Tennessee. I mean, I could die right now and be a happy man”But for anyone who knows Nick Cross, he wouldn't die a happy man just yet. He came to Nashville with a goal and that goal won't be fulfilled performing in the bars on Broadway. Nick Cross's career has a long life ahead of it, and there is no slowing down anytime soon.“This town is tough. I mean some musicians aren't even good enough to play Nashville. Some are only good enough to play Nashville and they will never break out of what we call ‘stuck on Broadway'. Well I will guarantee you I will not be ‘stuck on Broadway'. I'm smarter than that, I have more motivation and drive then that.”Like a story we've all heard before. An aspiring musician moves to Nashville, with $200 in his pocket, and a truck full of clothes. He is now watching his dreams unfold before his eyes. His story started out like many, but has certainly exceeded most. And the momentum isn't slowing down.

Saturday, July 4, 2009. A relatively quiet Independence Day for the US. The Statue of Liberty crown reopened after being closed for 8 years due to the attacks on the World Trade Center. North Korea tested ballistic missiles of their own to rattle the saber of their military at the United States, but nothing extraordinary. Seemed like it would be just another quiet celebration of America's Independence. At 1:35 p.m., a man named Robert Gaddy called 911 and reported finding two bodies in a residence at 105 Lea Avenue near downtown Nashville, TN. A 300-plus pound lineman for the Nashville Kats Arena Football Team, Gaddy was known around town as "Big Daddy Gaddy." He is perhaps most well-known for being a friend and teammate to NFL legend and local hero, Steve McNair. The first officer appeared just four minutes later, at 1:39 p.m, and found that one of the victims was the former football star. The other appeared to be a woman, whose dead body lay at his feet on the floor of the living room. The man turned out to be Steve McNair and the woman his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi. McNair sat on his couch, Kazemi on the ground at his feet. The officers found two bullets in the walls almost immediately; one was attributed to McNair, the other to his girlfriend. The 9mm used in the murder-suicide was then found underneath Kazemi's head during the investigation. Here is a brief synopsis of what the officers found upon entering McNair's place: McNair had a gunshot wound (contact) to his right temple, and an exit gunshot wound to his right temple. McNair also had a gunshot wound (non-contact) to his left temple and two gunshot wounds to his chest that both exited through his back. Kazemi had a contact gunshot wound to the right side of her head and an exit wound on the left side of her head. Due to a lack of any defensive wounds or defensive posturing from McNair, police believe McNair was asleep on his couch when he was shot and killed early in the hours of July 4th, 2009. According to the case summary, McNair's Blood Alcohol Level was 0.15%, nearly twice the legal limit at the time, which may have contributed to his drowsiness. A few more details on what police believed happened the night of McNair's death (from the case summary): The totality of the evidence leads to the conclusion that Kazemi shot McNair in the left side of his head (non-contact), shot him twice in the chest, and then put the gun to the right side of his head and shot him again (contact wound). It is concluded that Kazemi sat on the sofa to McNair's left in such a way that she would fall into McNair's lap upon committing suicide by shooting herself in the head. The blood stains show that Kazemi's upper body was in McNair's lap before she slid down his leg and onto the floor. 105 Lea Avenue, Nashville, TN The Life of Steve McNair This isn't a sports blog, so I won't spend a whole lot of time writing about Steve McNair's career, but here are the highlights: he won the Walter Payton Award in 1994 and was drafted by the Houston Oilers the next year. He didn't really become a superstar player in the NFL until the Oilers migrated to Nashville and became the Tennessee Titans. He participated in the Titans' lone Super Bowl, losing that game by about a foot-and-a-half. (Sorry if this is triggering you, the long-suffering Titans fan.) He took the Titans to a few more playoff appearances before being traded to the Ravens in 2005. He played a few more seasons and then retired in 2007. I remember intensely respecting his on-the-field heroics. He was tougher than most quarterbacks, and he put a nice touch on his passes. Being a Falcons fan, though, I never followed 'Air' McNair's career with the fervor that I would now. His personal life plays much more of a role in his ultimate death than his football career. First of all, he was married, and many of his friends were surprised to know he was involved in a secret relationship with the waitress, Kazemi, before his death. He had two sons with his wife, Mechelle McNair and two sons by two other women. The Fourth of July Timeline A few key events lead up to Steve McNair's death. On July 1, an African-American male (who was not Steve McNair or Adrian Gilliam) showed up at the Opry Mills Dave & Buster's where Sahel Kazemi worked and hung out without eating or drinking. Kazemi spent an hour talking to him on her shift, disappeared for two hours during her 30-minute break and was sent home after that. Also, the Thursday before his death, July 2, McNair was out with Kazemi and chef Vent Gordon when Kazemi, driving an Escalade registered to the couple, was pulled over. According to a Hollywood Gossip timeline, the traffic stop occurred between 1-1:30 a.m. early Thursday morning. She was arrested for DUI but not before McNair and Gordon left the scene via taxi. Kazemi apparently asked McNair to talk to the arresting officer, but McNair, perhaps fearing a public controversy over the matter, refused. McNair then went to Free at Last Bonding and arranged to bail her out. According to Fowzi Ali, a cab driver, McNair went to Loser's Bar in Midtown Nashville for 15-20 minutes before requesting to be taken back to the residence on Lea. Later that evening, Kazemi, having been bailed out by McNair, ventured to meet a convicted murderer named Adrian Gilliam to purchase a semi-automatic 9mm pistol. (More on that later.) This would prove to be the gun used in the murder-suicide. That Friday, Kazemi went into work at the Dave & Busters at the Opry Mills Mall, just outside of Nashville, and sent a series of texts throughout her shift and beyond. Judging solely on the content of the texts, she merely appeared to be in love with the former quarterback, not veering toward some form of psychotic break. However, according to an article in ESPN, there are some signs that she was not quite herself in the hours leading up to her death: A shift manager at Dave & Buster's who worked with Kazemi on the last night of her life told police that Kazemi was normally upbeat. But in the hours before the murder, something was different. She rolled her eyes when asked about McNair's promise to divorce his wife, Mechelle. Kazemi, according to a police statement, told her manager, 'My life is just shit, and I should end it!' Here are some other highlights of her social media and personal communiques from Friday, July 3, 2009: She called a handful of friends that day, making Fourth of July plans that wouldn't be kept. She tried to sell some furniture on craigslist [sic], went to work and clocked out early, and texted McNair that she had to be with him that night. One of her final calls was to Lakresia Polite, a friend she had planned on going out with that night. Polite said that she was in Memphis and that she couldn't go out. Kazemi, Polite says, told her that's OK; she'd call Steve and see what he was doing. It's extremely possible to come to the conclusion that Steve McNair AND Sahel "Jenni" Kazemi  would still be alive today, had she only been able to go out with someone else -- anyone else -- that Friday night. Later testing concluded that Kazemi was the sole shooter. There was powder residue on Kazemi's left hand, indicating she had fired using both hands, and none on either of McNair's. The Discovery Remember Robert "Big Daddy" Gaddy? Turns out, even though he made the initial 911 call, he was not the person who discovered the bodies. That distinction goes to one Carless Wayne Neeley, a friend of McNair's who co-rented the property at 105 Lea Avenue with the former football star. July 4th, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Neeley dropped by the residence and saw McNair's cars parked outside. He had been talking to McNair about speaking at a local Little League game and figured he would drop in to ask about it. He unlocked the doors and went inside. He saw the both of them in the living room but thought they were asleep and walked right past them into the kitchen. He grabbed a beer from the fridge and returned to the living room. Upon seeing blood and shell casings in the condo, he fled the residence. He said he didn't recognize the victim on the couch as McNair and tried multiple times to call the former football player. When he couldn't get ahold of McNair, he did the next best thing: He called McNair's best friend, Gaddy, who showed up 15 minutes later. Gaddy and Neeley went inside and identified McNair's body, but here's the weird thing: they didn't go outside and immediately call the police. First, they called General Sessions Judge Casey Moreland. Moreland, of course, told them that they should call the authorities and admit to everything they knew. The 9mm Pistol A thirty-three-year-old convicted murderer named Adrian Gilliam sold Sahel Kazemi the loaded 9mm pistol she would later use to murder Steve McNair and kill herself. He purportedly wanted a romantic relationship with Kazemi and exchanged 49 texts and phone calls in the days leading up to the murder. He later stated he sold her the gun because she'd told him she was worried about prowlers in the area. However, it was also speculated that she was angry over the possibility that McNair was engaged in other extramarital affairs, in addition to the one he was having with her. Despite that, she was also purportedly seeing other men at the time, including one of McNair's former teammates on the Tennessee Titans and a Vanderbilt University football player. Timeline Leading to Steve McNair's and Sahel Kazemi's Deaths Thursday, July 2, 2009: Two Days Before McNair's Death Kazemi is pulled over for DUI in Nashville while driving a Cadillac Escalade registered to both McNair and Kazemi. McNair and Vent Gordon, the chef at one of McNair's restaurants, are in the car at this time. McNair refuses to get out and talk to the police, but he still bails Kazemi out of jail. Weird irony: the officer who arrests Kazemi for DUI is the same one who, six years earlier, arrested McNair for the same charge. Later that evening, Sahel Kazemi purchases a 9mm pistol from a convicted murderer she met while trying to find a buyer for her Kia. (Wikipedia) There is also speculation that Kazemi was with her ex-boyfriend, Keith Norfleet, in the hours following being bailed out of jail for DUI. Friday, July 3, 2009: The Day Before McNair's Death 10:05 AM -- Kazemi texts McNair. "Baby I might have a break down im so stressed." She also states she needs to pay "the cell phone bills n the hospital." 04:00 PM -- McNair tells Kazemi that $2,000 is being transferred to her account. She later texts that she "can hardly breath [sic]" and "I just want the pain in my chest to go away." McNair texts back, asking if she would like for him to see about her. 04:04 PM -- Kazemi texts McNair: "Baby I have to be w u 2nite. I dnt care where." 08:34 PM -- Kazemi again texts McNair: "baby where u gonna be at when I get off." 11:00 PM -- McNair puts his children to bed. Saturday, July 4, 2009: The Day of McNair's Death 12:38 AM -- McNair texts Kazemi: "On my way." [Presumably, this is the condo where the two of them met up.] 01:14 AM -- Kazemi tells McNair the door is open. 02:23 AM -- There is one more text sent to McNair's phone at 2:23 AM. "im going to the store." It was sent approximately 23 minutes after the Metro Nashville Police Department believes Kazemi killed Steve McNair and then herself. According to Sammy Saltman in a 2009 article, "T-Mobile Subpoena Compliance Specialist Melanie Cadwell told Nasvhille authorities that it is possible this message, which was received by McNair's Blackberry at that time, was delayed in transit, and was actually sent earlier. The Lingering Questions in Steve McNair's Death Although the official investigation into Steve McNair's death seems pretty conclusive, a few lingering questions remain. Former police officer Vincent Hill believes Kazemi did not, in fact, murder McNair and turn the pistol on herself. His main evidence comes from the fact that McNair, who very often carried thousands of dollars rolled up in a rubber band, only had $6 in in his wallet when his body was found. A more minor but nevertheless credible point relates to Adrian Gilliam's uneven testimony. Gilliam claims that he avoided the truth in his initial interviews because his fiancee was present, and he didn't want her to know about his amorous intentions with Sahel Kazemi. We can't really cast aspersions on Gilliam purely for his past, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he had something to hide about the whole murder/suicide. The last point Vincent Hill brings up is that Kazemi purportedly hated guns. I mean, honestly, that doesn't really matter, since plenty of violent ends have come at the hands of people who abhorred violence, but it is definitely an avenue worth exploring. Kazemi's family has requested the investigation be re-opened, and though I doubt that will ever happen, it doesn't hurt to think about all of the angles in this case. Final Thoughts The more I've read about Steve McNair's death, the more tragic the whole thing seems to become. I've got to admit, I first thought the whole case had to do with a jealous lover and revenge. Now that I've paid some actual attention to it, I have to admit it just appears to be a horrible, random, absolutely senseless crime. Steve McNair was no worse than any other professional athlete, and he appeared to have a really quite generous streak that set him apart. From what I've read, he was a good man, an absolute legend, one who embraced Nashville with the whole of his life. Sahel Kazemi didn't have a chance to establish herself, so the legacy she leaves behind is tied almost exclusively to her tumultuous relationship with Steve McNair. However, the horrors associated with the events of July 4, 2009 can't erase the joy she brought to friends and family. She very obviously suffered a psychotic break, which may explain what eventually happened in the wee hours of her final night.
