In Tooele, Utah, there's a haunted attraction that never had to pretend it was an abandoned hospital...because it actually was one. Asylum 49 occupies the former Tooele Valley Hospital, built on land that had previously served as the county poor farm. For years, its full-contact haunted house operated on one side of a wall while elderly residents lived in an active care facility on the other. But employees soon began reporting things no actor was responsible for: slamming doors, shadow figures, children in empty hospital rooms, and a little girl in a white nightgown who supposedly frightened the people hired to frighten everyone else. Tonight, we explore the history and legends of Asylum 49—and the bizarre complications that arise when a commercial haunted house claims its most convincing performers aren't actually on the payroll. It's that time again, welcome to Tall Tale After Dark. Four people, and four nights that rewrote what they thought was possible. We're going back to a favorite topic of ours, as we dip our toe into the world of skinwalkers, once again. A cabin in the Colorado pines. A lone camp deep in Louisiana. A boy's twelfth birthday under a Utah sky, and a family hogan ten miles from the nearest door.Apparently, you're not supposed to say the word skinwalker, otherwise you might inadvertently draw one to you. Christian did not get this memo, so if we don't see him after this episode airs, we'll just all collectively assume the worst. Is Airbnb DEAD? Not even close — but most investors are playing it completely wrong. 20-year real estate veteran Shawn Moore (Founder & CEO of Vodyssey - V-O-D-Y-S-S-E-Y) joins Mary Jo Irmen on Without The Bank to expose why gurus keep switching strategies, why the tax savings are TRAPPING investors, and why right now — with high prices, 7% rates, and low inventory — is actually the best time to buy if you understand underwriting. Shawn started in fix & flips in 2000, survived the 2008 crash thanks to a single A-frame cabin in Bear Lake, Utah, went all-in on short-term rentals from 2012-2014, wrote his book in 2017-2019 (pre-COVID), and built Vodyssey into one of the largest short-term rental communities in the country. Inside this episode:
What do you do when you blow it with God? In this final teaching from our series in Exodus, guest speaker Dave Nelson looks at Exodus 34 alongside the book of Hebrews and the contrast is striking. At Sinai, the people stood at a distance. Moses alone went up the mountain into the presence of God. But Hebrews tells us that because of Jesus, the Mediator of a new covenant, we are invited to draw near. We don't come hiding, pretending, or trying to make ourselves worthy. We come through Christ. And when we come, we discover the God who revealed Himself to Moses: merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. The good news is not simply that God forgives us when we fail. Through Jesus, He brings us near, makes us holy, and gives us His Spirit to transform us. As closing arguments wind down in Utah, the deep state's desperate plot to frame a lone-wolf scapegoat for Charlie Kirk's assassination is falling apart at the seams. Armed with boots-on-the-ground reporting from citizen journalists and relentless exposure of regime shills, we break through the propaganda machine to deliver the unfiltered truth to the American people. Ana Escobar joins Stew to detail a shadowy web of Hebrew Google searches that allegedly tracked political figures and false-flag operatives right as covert Egyptian military flights touched down across America and unpack new forensic updates surrounding the explosive destruction of a DoD-contracted munitions plant and reveal suspicious flight patterns linking private jets to an alleged off-the-grid weapons trafficking network. The whole left-right paradigm is nothing more than a carefully crafted show designed to keep everyday Americans distracted while the real ruling class pulls the levers of power. Stew sits down with Dr. Michael Rectenwald to expose the false political choices, dissect the ongoing psyops, and lay out what it actually takes to fight back for true American sovereignty. The fake medical establishment relies on toxic GLP-1 injections and poison "food" to keep Americans sick, broken, and dependent on big pharma. Energized Health founder John Jubilee joins Stew to expose how targeting root cellular hydration naturally shreds fat, rebuilds muscle, and reverses chronic illness without gym gimmicks or big box slop. Built on the MLA-Flex architecture designed from the outset for battery power, it weighs around 2885kg but sits 88mm lower in centre of gravity than the V8, retains 900mm wading depth (960mm practical), and tows 2500kg versus 3500kg for the combustion model, with JLR's analysis of 360 million customer journeys concluding it suits 97% of them.NORWAY ELECTRIC CARS REACH NEW RECORDBattery-electric cars took a record 98.7% of Norway's 13,451 new passenger-car registrations in August, up from 96.9% a year earlier and 97.6% in July, according to the Norwegian Road Traffic Information Council. Volkswagen led brands and the ID.4 led models ahead of the Toyota bZ4X and BMW iX3, while Xpeng and BYD together took 11.4% of the market against 4.9% in August 2025.VOLVO EX30 GAINS V2L IN SOFTWARE UPDATEVolvo has added vehicle-to-load charging to the EX30 via an over-the-air update, delivering up to 3kW at 16 amps through a separate adapter connected to the charge port, with supply cutting off automatically below 20% battery. The feature will not be offered in the US, Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan or Japan, and arrives alongside a customisable contextual bar, redesigned settings menu and Plug & Charge in some European markets for model-year 2026 cars onwards.RENAULT SCENIC LONG RANGE REACHES 399 MILESThe Renault Scenic Long Range now covers up to 399 miles, a 20-mile gain from an extra 2kWh of capacity, and though peak charging stays at 150kW it holds that rate longer, cutting 10% to 80% charging to 28 minutes from 38. A revised Comfort Range version, possibly not returning to the UK, switches to LFP chemistry with 7kWh more capacity, 290 miles of range and 165kW charging, both paired with the existing 215bhp rear motor.GENESIS PLANS FOUR MORE EUROPEAN MARKETSGenesis will start selling in Austria, Denmark, Poland and Portugal next year despite a 19% fall in European sales, relying on expansion and electrification to fix weak regional performance. Its range is now almost entirely electric, with battery-electric vehicles making up 95% of European sales through July led by the GV60 and GV70, far above the 27% BEV share of the wider European premium market.FORD SHOWS FATHOM PICKUP IN DESERT TESTINGFord chief executive Jim Farley posted footage on September 1, 2026 of the Fathom electric midsize pickup undergoing hot-weather desert testing, revealing the name via a QR code on the camouflage that links to a Ford landing page. Production begins at Louisville Assembly in Q1 2027 ahead of an early 2027 sale date, with Ford claiming more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4 but withholding full specifications.CHINA ISSUES OVERSEAS GUIDELINES FOR CHINESE AUTOMAKERSChinese regulators issued guidelines on September 1 for automakers' overseas operations, telling them to price with reference to costs and market conditions rather than to gain unfair competitive advantage, avoid frequent or substantial price changes, and refrain from misleading advertising. The rules also demand stronger anti-monopoly, anti-corruption, antitrust and social-responsibility compliance, protection of Chinese brand reputation abroad, adherence to local labour laws and better management of political, economic and safety risks in host countries.CANADA RELEASES 24,500 CHINA-MADE ELECTRIFIED-VEHICLE PERMITSCanada released 24,500 further permits for China-made electrified vehicles on September 1, completing the 49,000 first-year quota introduced in January under a trade deal with Beijing that replaced a 100% tariff, though imports still face the standard 6.1% most-favoured-nation rate. Global Affairs Canada issued permits for 15,344 EVs and 259 hybrids in the first six months, leaving importers able to bring in 33,397 vehicles including 8,897 carried-over permits, as BYD, Chery and Geely pursue certification, hiring and dealers ahead of expected sales by early next year.BMW IX3 CROSSES PORTUGAL ON ONE CHARGEA 2026 BMW iX3 50 xDrive drove 739km (459 miles) the length of Portugal on National Road 2 without recharging, finishing with 20% battery left after three days and 14 hours at the wheel with BMW Portugal ambassador Ana Varela driving. The route mixed mountains, winding roads, valleys, plains and towns rather than maximising range, and falls short of a December 2025 run of 1,007.7km from BMW's Debrecen plant to Munich that ended on 2%.US ADDS RECORD STORAGE CAPACITY IN SECOND QUARTERThe US installed a record 20.2 gigawatt-hours of energy storage in the three months to June, with a Solar Energy Industries Association and Benchmark Mineral Intelligence outlook forecasting 71 gigawatt-hours added across 2026. More than 74% of second-quarter capacity was built in states Donald Trump won in 2024, driven largely by Arizona, Texas and Utah, with growth partly tied to data centres using batteries to handle rapid demand swings from artificial intelligence.SOLAR PANELS COOL HYPOTHETICAL TOMATO FARMA simulation found tomato leaves under solar panels ran 1.84°C cooler through the day and up to 7.56°C cooler at peak afternoon heat than in open field, receiving 47% less sunlight but losing only 31% of carbon uptake. Panels above crops were 5.6°C cooler than those over bare soil, recovering about 15% of the efficiency lost to heat, while perceived temperatures for workers fell 4.46°C, and the model could be applied to other climate and crop combinations.

At three in the morning on April Fools' Day, 1893, the alarm bells at Utah's Granite Paper Mill began ringing. The people living nearby heard them, checked the date—and went back to sleep. By sunrise, the mill's wooden interior and machinery were gone, leaving behind a roofless fortress of granite that somehow refused to disappear. Over the next 130 years, the ruin became a Jazz Age ballroom, a counterculture rock club, a Halloween attraction, a Hollywood filming location, and eventually one of Utah's most notorious haunted landmarks. But many of its ghosts have histories almost as strange as the building itself—because they appear to have been assembled from real events, theatrical props, canyon acoustics, and decades of collective memory. Tonight, we explore the Cottonwood Paper Mill, a building that survived fire, abandonment, and folklore... and may now be facing the one thing it can't survive: demolition. Four PLL teams remain, peaking at the right time for the right to play in mountainous Salt Lake City this weekend.IL's Chris Rosenthall and Kevin Brown are back to recap the PLL Quarterfinals with takeaways from the Outlaws and Cannons' victories before diving into where the Redwoods and Whipsnakes go from here after bowing out. From the Denver four Tewaaraton winners being back together to Boston's defense peaking at the right time, their quarterfinal wins set up some scintillating semifinal matchups against the Archers and Waterdogs. Rosie previews the offseasons ahead for the exiting quarterfinal teams, taking a look at the top free agents for California and Maryland while giving Rob Pannell his flowers after an emotional final game of the season (and possibly career). From the natural narratives of Brennan O'Neill playing against the Utah defense to the built-up animosity of past matchups between Boston and Philly, the final four aren't just peaking at the right time, but also have the most intrigue. Whether it's the boos raining down from the Salt Lake City crowd for every O'Neill touch or the beef between the Cannons and Waterdogs, the intensity will be incredible. Come for the analysis on what Denver and Boston need to do better in the semis, stay for the ref decision Rosie brings up that makes Kevin break. The two end with a big-picture look at what a title would mean for the remaining semifinalists in the grand scheme of things when it comes to legacies, re-establishing a dynasty or building one.
