Eric Recker's top podcasts and learning tools include "Dream, Think, Do with Mitch Matthews" and "All It Takes is a Goal" by Jon Acuff. These resources offer valuable insights, motivation, and practical advice for personal and professional development. 4. What tool or resource would you recommend to grow a small business? Eric Recker recommends a journal as a valuable tool for small business growth. A journal provides flexibility for recording thoughts, setting goals, and reflecting on progress. It helps entrepreneurs stay organised, focused, and accountable on their journey to success. 5. What advice would you give yourself on day one of starting out in business? How do we stay productive and motivated without feeling burned out and overwhelmed?  After running PelvicSanity for 8 years and working with 500+ business owners, we've seen all of the challenges.  We wanted to bring you the idea of the Chaos Zone and Comfort Zone - it's really helped our thinking and how we coach!Based on a great framework from Jon Acuff in his book (All It Takes is a Goal), we've found business owners (and, really, all of us!) often fall into one of these categories.Either we're stuck in our Comfort Zone.  It's easy, we're coasting, we're not making changes or pushing forward in our business.  To be honest, most of us business owners don't get stuck here.Instead, we're far more likely to fall into the Chaos Zone.  We're trying to see all the patients + marketing + administrative tasks + payroll + SEO + faxing referrals + cleaning rooms + doing laundry + also being there for our family + working out + becoming a better clinician + finishing con-ed + also making sure we have time to relax.  Whew!In this 'sode we talk about how to split the difference between these to be in an area Jon calls the 'productivity zone.'  He gives a fantastic description: "Steady, joyful progress on a handful of goals you care about."IC Course - Cohort #2Today's the final day to join us for the IC Course - you'll get $50 off, a LIVE Q&A and a whole lot more confidence in treating patients with IC!Accelerator ProgramIf you'd like help spending more time in that 'steady, joyful progress' we'd love to work with you in the next cohort of the Business Accelerator Program!  You can find all the details and get on the wait list here (www.pelvicptrising.com/accelerator).About UsNicole and Jesse Cozean founded Pelvic PT Rising to provide clinical and business resources to physical therapists to change the way we treat pelvic health.   PelvicSanity Physical Therapy (www.pelvicsanity.com) together in 2016.  It grew quickly into one of the largest cash-based physical therapy practices in the country.Through Pelvic PT Rising, Nicole has created clinical courses (www.pelvicptrising.com/clinical) to help pelvic health providers gain confidence in their skills and provide frameworks to get better patient outcomes.  Together, Jesse and Nicole have helped 500+ pelvic practices start and grow through the Pelvic PT Rising Business Programs (www.pelvicptrising.com/business) to build a practice that works for them!Get in Touch!Learn more at www.pelvicptrising.com, follow Nicole @nicolecozeandpt (www.instagram.com/nicolecozeandpt) or reach out via email (nicole@pelvicsanity.com).Check out our Clinical Courses, Business Resources and learn more about us at Pelvic PT Rising...Let's Continue to Rise!

"I think you could climb the ladder faster when you're an expert at something else already. Like, you and I have seen that, like, former athletes climb the ladder faster. People that have done other things climb the ladder faster. But I think it's about setting your expectations. I think it's about setting the reality. I think it's about putting in the work, about thinking about the client, like, outperforming what their expectations are."This week, they dig into Jon's speaking journey what he's learned through writing his latest book, All It Takes is a Goal, and how you apply these goal setting principles to your speaking business. This episode also covers: How to climb the speaking ladder What it looks like to set big goals that don't set you up for failure Jon's favorite goal setting framework How to embrace challenges and connect with the audience What it's like always playing away games How to use books to grow your business What ghostwriting is and how to tell if it's a good fit for you A little bit more about Jon's new book “It's kind of like, an NFL player who sucks at announcing. They do it for like, three games and you never hear from them again. And you're like, But I thought he played in the NFL for ten years. He's a hall of famer. Yeah, it turns out performing in a game or commenting on a game are very different crafts. And he thought, Nah, dude, I throw touchdowns. I know how to break down a game and do color comment like, no, you don't. You have a chance to engage in that with humility and work on it and put in the reps and the effort, or it just falls apart. And so I remember so many times where I would go and again, it would be low fee, small audience, maybe new content, and I'd put together my own slides, and it was me learning how to do it. And you really have to look at, like, if there's five people in there or 500, I have to give my best.”Episode Chapters:[00:02:34] Start small, build up to guaranteed goals.[00:06:52] Frustration and joy in pursuing new ventures.[00:09:58] Always serve well. Jon Acuff is paving the way. He's paving the way for his daughters as he just co-wrote a book with them (!) and he's paving the way for us with practical, relatable information that makes our lives better.  In 2021, Jon wrote Soundtracks: The Surprising Solution to Overthinking and he has this way of doling out information that sticks. It slides into your brain and rolls around in there and connects with your other thoughts and helps you make more heartfelt choices. It was an honor and a hoot to get a chance to talk with Jon about parenting topics like helping kids learn their "turn down" techniques for when life has gone haywire, like giving kids time to practice skills during childhood so that they feel prepared for adulthood, like being purposeful and present with today's relationships. We also talk about legos. And queso. And skittles and failure. Jon's daughters, L.E. and McRae wrote a sequel to Soundtracks that's geared for teens called "Your New Playlist" and Jon was their editor.  As a New York Times Bestselling Author and INC Top 100 Leadership Speaker, Jon packs it the good stuff while being entertaining, witty, and memorable through and through. HEAVY Music Interviews

After a prolonged period of silence – eight years to be precise – Perth rock outfit Karnivool finally released new material last week, albeit with little fuss or fanfare.Karnivool are a band who have always done things their way and shunned normal convention, but the surprise release of “All It Takes” was both welcome and appreciated for the bands legion of fans who have been waiting since 2013 for new material. Not only has Karnivool released an early Christmas present in the form of a new song, they have also recently released Decade Of Sound Awake on Blu-Ray, which is a recording of their LiveStream celebration of their breakthrough album recorded earlier this year.On top of that Karnivool were also recently announced as co-headliners of next years Monolith Festival with COG, so all in all HEAVY felt it was long overdue to chat with the band about all of these new developments.Vocalist Ian Kenny joined us earlier this week.We start by asking him how the early reaction has been for “All It Takes”, despite the fact not many people knew it was actually coming out."It's been great,” he laughed. “It's been really, really cool. It's one of things where you don't... we just didn't wanna think about it too much because we've basically been sitting on that song for the last year and a half. We had all these intentions to take it out on tour and align it with a whole bunch of live shows over the last two or three years, but they just kept falling over. We tried several attempts to get tours happening, but it just didn't happen, so it was just bubbling away too much. We had to drop it and thought we'd drop it out of nowhere and create a bit of a splash. I think outside that too, more about how things have been, we're also very aware of where we are right now people just need something and if you've got something to share or something to offer through a time when it's all a bit sticky then why not. And what we can do, and control, is our music at the moment so why not put it out."Musically, “All It Takes” is vintage Karnivool, with relevant subject matter interlaced with the unmistakable sounds of a band truly atop their game."It's pretty dark,” Kenny offered. “It's pretty heavy rolling piece of music. On repeat listen you'll pick up some of the layers in it. It's a pretty rolling kind of stomp of a song. It's got this dirty synth and the whole of the take is basically a snapshot of where we've been at as a band creatively and trying to find our way through our own creative processes, which aren't always the easiest things. I think it's become this mantra for us lately as we've sat on this piece of music. You basically find a way through it really. There's a lot of questions in the song which kind of spread a bit wider to what we're all dealing with. Internally, really, it's about our own process of what we're trying to do and still trying to do."In the full interview, Ian runs through “All It Takes” in greater detail, the possibility of more new music, the songs path to release, the Blu-Ray release, celebrating ten years of Sound Awake, why he feels it was such an important album to the band and their fans, next years Monolith Festival, touring overseas and more.

You might have heard someone tell you to “protect your yes.” Meaning, you should not feel obligated to agree to do things, participate, or take something on that you truly don't want to do. If it doesn't fulfill you in one way or another, why do it? In business, sometimes you can't protect your yes, though. Sometimes, if you don't say yes, you don't have customers. But you can't say yes to everything… Or can you…?“We did just about anything,” Paul Rathnam says. “I said no to nothing. Like my dad taught me growing up, just say yes to everything and figure it out later. So, I often quoted things like plumbing and stuff. I had no clue how to do it. And then I'd go to the plumbing store and ask them how to do it. And they kind of have somewhat of an idea anyway, the story of my life. Rantham is the owner of ModPools, a multi-million dollar company that builds swimming pools out of shipping containers. And, as you can tell, he took saying yes to a whole new level. But while Paul was busy saying yes, throughout his life, he heard a lot of nos. And even though his just-say-yes strategy eventually paid off, saying yes to everything had its pitfalls. We'll get into all of that on this episode of The Journey.Main Takeaways:Exceeds Expectations: Throughout your life, people will place expectations or limits on you. But you should never let what other people think dictate where you wind up. Even if you lack certain skills in one area does not mean you can't be brilliant somewhere else. Find your passion and let that guide you beyond what anyone else thinks is possible.Yes To All: Saying yes to every request is a strategy that many entrepreneurs have tried. When you say yes, you gain business and accounts. But if you say yes, you have to be willing to do all the work necessary to do the job properly, otherwise you'll be left with not just dissatisfied customers, but a bad reputation as well. All It Takes is One: Whether it's an idea, a design, or a word of encouragement, sometimes all it takes to keep going is one small thing. When you are on the brink or struggling, that one small thing could be right around the corner. Persevere and be open to wherever that one spark could turn into a wildfire.---This season of the Journey is produced by Mission.org and brought to you by UPS. As you'll hear, one of the things I love about her is that while her elite level might seem very serious and intimidating (and she might have treated it that way at times), she ultimately came back to running purely for joy and for her mental health and she's even founded her own running community, One Step is All It Takes, to raise awareness of the benefits of running and movement for anxiety and depression. We had such a fun chat in the Joyride lab at Nike HQ in Melbourne and she also shared some of her practical coaching wisdom to help us all get out and pound that pavement – hope you enjoy! + Follow Lydia here + Announcements on Insta at @spoonful_of_sarah + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of YAY!

Hello beautiful people. You’ve probably noticed that this year has involved a big conversion from non-runner to running lover and I’ve had a lot of questions from fellow curious but reluctant runners about getting started and building up to finding the joy in running. So, I figured I’d turn to one of the experts to help out who also has a super interesting way to yay and is our first Kiwi on the show!I met the lovely Lydia O’Donnell through the Nike family just after she had WON the Surf Coast marathon. In the “Coaching the Coaches” segment, Angel gives you the-how and the-why of these two actions which can either make or break a pitchers throwing and/or pitching motion. Included in the discussion are tips for ways you can work with your pitchers on the field during practice and flat-ground throwing to assess and correct these very important skills. In the “All It Takes is All You Got” segment, you will hear about and see a critical exercise for pitchers that deals with the rotation phase of the pitching motion; i.e., when the pitcher transitions from his sideways-stride downhill to his facing-the-target position. This is quite possibly one of the most misunderstood skills in the pitching motion and during the explanation of the exercise, you will also learn and be able to understand this invaluable component of the motion. It ties in with the first segment and promises to deliver great information. Visit Angel Borrelli Pitching You on Tube Channel to watch as you learn.
