In the latest episode of the HNL Movement Podcast, Andrew welcomes Sanam Rezazadeh, the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Stanford, to share her unique journey into the world of athletic training. Sanam's path was not paved by early sports dominance; in fact, it wasn't until around 5th grade that she tried her hand at basketball. Despite this, her innate passion for sports was always clear. The turning point came with the challenge of knee pain and surgery, where she met an athletic trainer who inspired her with the profound impact of helping people recover from injuries. Sanam's voyage through her educational and career choices is a testament to the power of exploration and seizing opportunities. Initially drawn to physical therapy, her trajectory took a meaningful turn at the University of Hawaii, where she discovered her true calling in athletic training. It was the perfect blend of her desire to aid others and her love for the sports environment. Volunteering in the athletic training room wasn't just a stepping stone; it was a pivotal experience that laid the foundation for her future, allowing her to absorb invaluable skills that would sculpt her into the professional she is today.Reflecting on her growth over seven years at Stanford, Sanam delves into the realities of her role, her aspirations of working in collegiate or professional sports, and the decision-making process that led her to choose Stanford over an NFL internship with the San Francisco 49ers—a choice she has never regretted. Her story is one of continual evolution, embracing the dynamic nature of athletic training, and the satisfaction of reinvention within her career. For anyone intrigued by the intersection of sports, medicine, and personal growth, this episode is not to be missed. Tune in to the HNL Movement Podcast, subscribe on YouTube, and follow us on social media to be part of Sanam's compelling narrative. Enjoy the episode!

I do want to warn you all before I intro today's guest that we will be talking about our previous relationships with food and our battle with eating disorders during college.Things no one ever told me before I went to college. 1. Toilet paper is expensive.2. That you get your mother's hips sometime around your junior year with zero warning. I am excited to have Becca Morgan as the guest for this episode. Becca and I met as freshmen at Hendrix College and have enjoyed watching each other's journey through social media as we individually navigate adulthood. She is rounding out her 3rd year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Ole Miss with women's volleyball team and is currently pursuing her doctorate in nutrition. So yes, she is a badass. Becca grew up dancing and started dancing competitively in elementary school. Her fitness journey truly began in college and as she was met with a lot of obstacles and challenges. Through graduate school to now, she has grown and evolved into someone embracing a self-love journey and hoping to lead and inspire others to do the same.I know you are probably wondering why a successful SEC athletic trainer working on her doctoral degree in Nutrition on a podcast about imposter syndrome. Well, as I said before, no one can escape imposter syndrome – it's something that everyone faces. Now, let's dive into the interview.

Should always try to understand “why” a surgeon buys something. During this episode we will be talking to Mitch Doyle. Mitch was the 2019 US Sports Med Rep of the year for Smith & Nephew. He started out as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Arizona. He then became the Director of Athletic training and Assistant professor at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. Shortly after taking a role as a Sports Medicine Instructor at the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine, he started working at TOSA Medical, a Medical Sales Distributorship representing Orthofix, Exactech, Arthrosurface, etc. Three years later, he moved to Arizona and worked at Arthrex in Orthopedic Surgical Sales for 4+ years. Eventually after his non-compete was up, he transitioned to a role in Orthopedic Surgical Sales at Smith and Nephew in Arizona. He has been there for 5+ years. For those currently in medical sales or right about to break in, this episode will be an incredible listen to start you out on the right foot! We discover the importance of using the "sniper" approach rather then the "shotgun" approach to find your first medical sales job. This also translates to when you are targeting a surgeon in your territory. We also learn about uncovering a surgeon's "why." Throwing brochures with features and benefits at a surgeon is not enough in this arena. ______________This podcast was brought to you by Legacy Now Coaching LLCWebsite: https://www.legacynowcoaching.comBook an appointment here: https://www.legacynowcoaching.com/bookingRoad to Medical Sales Podcast here: https://roadtomedicalsales.buzzsprout.com Legacy Now Coaching Linkedin Page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/legacy-now-coaching/?viewAsMember=true Legacy Now Coaching Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/legacynowcoaching/?hl=en Legacy Now Coaching Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/legacynowcoaching/?view_public_for=102904654693161 _____________This video was also brought to you by Legacy Now Coaching LLC ______________© 2020 Legacy Now Coaching______________Song: The Odyssey AheadArtist: Dream CaveLicense Purchased By: Legacy Now Coaching LLCLicense ID: DL-0oh-yawcarn4qpSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/legacynow)
