Garth Heckman The David Alliance TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com th grade… lets make a snowman… just a huge snowball… we push it up a large hill… lets roll it down and see how fast it can go… Im going to let it roll over me at the bottom… BIG MISTAKE. IT PICKED UP MOMENTUM, SUCKING UP EVERY PIECE OF SNOW IN ITS PATH… FASTER, BIGGER, FASTER, BIGGER…. Introduction: God Has Always Been Moving Momentum. It is the principle that a body in motion tends to stay in motion. In physics, it is a law. In the kingdom of God, it is a promise. God Is the Source of All Momentum The Spirit Moved First The very opening of Scripture shows us a God in motion: "In the beginning-MOMENTUM- God created-MOMENTUM- the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering-MOMENTUM- over the waters." — Genesis 1:1–2 The Hebrew word for 'hovering' is rachaph — it means to flutter, to brood, to move with energy and intention. This is our God. He does not wait passively. He moves first. He initiates. Momentum in the kingdom always begins with Him, not with us. You did not choose momentum. Momentum chose you. Once the world was formed it was called to multiply and be fruitful = momentum! In him is the momentum… where is his Spirit leading? "You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself." — Exodus 19:4 WHAT IS GOD SAYING… I BUILT MOMENTUM TO CARRY YOU OUT OF EGYPT. The build can be hard, the waiting, the build up… But when they left - they were begged to leave, given treasure, given favor, provided miracles of crossing the red sea! The eagle does not flap its wings furiously — it spreads them wide and rides the thermal currents. The question is not: 'How hard am I working?' The question is: 'Am I in alignment with what God is already doing? An eagle will carry its young on its wings after pushing them out of the nest… Not only that they will remove the soft lining of the nest to get them to step out… IF THEY DON'T THEY WILL PUT THORNS IN THE NEST… The eaglet will be forced out only then to have the mother fly with it, catch it if need be and teach it to catch the thermal waves of momentum. Maybe things are uncomfortable because God is trying to move you into momentum.

There's an old saying that uncertainty creates opportunity. But if you're a grain grower right now, uncertainty can also create confusion, hesitation, and some pretty costly decisions. Over the past few years, we've seen massive swings in commodity prices, input costs, weather patterns, and global politics. For many farm businesses, it feels like the rules keep changing. One minute we're talking about record production and oversupply. The next, global conflict, fund money, and drought concerns are driving volatility back into the market. In this episode, I'm joined by Market Check's Managing Director and Founder, Brett Stevenson and CEO, Nick Crundall to unpack what has changed in global grain markets over the past nine months and what Australian grain growers need to be thinking about right now. More importantly, we explore the mindset and disciplines that separate consistently successful grain marketers from everyone else. We cover: How global conflict, rising fertiliser costs, and speculative investment are influencing grain prices and market volatility. Why global wheat stocks are tightening after record production years and what that means for the outlook for Australian growers. Insights around hedging, forward selling and grain storage, including why many growers continue to leave money on the table despite producing excellent crops. The common mistake of allowing tax planning and cash flow pressures to drive grain marketing decisions instead of following a clear strategy Nick shares some compelling analysis comparing hedging versus traditional forward selling and the long-term performance difference between growers who actively manage risk and those who don't. You can access Market Check's analysis here. This conversation also reinforces themes I explored with Jeff McDonald around financial clarity, proactive planning, and leading your business with confidence rather than reacting to circumstances. If you haven't listened to that episode yet, I'd encourage you to do so here. Nick and Brett, thank you both for your time, your honesty, and your willingness to share what you've learned over many years working alongside growers. Here's to a great season ahead, Sincerely, Jeremy Hutchings and the Farm Owners Academy Team.

Josh Brown and Michael Batnick on Ritholtz, Authenticity, and Why Risk Finds a WayWhat began as a funny observation from Boyar Value Group founder Mark Boyar — that Josh Brown and Michael Batnick are “the Howard Stern of financial podcasting” — turned out to be a pretty good way into the real story.Josh and Michael built an audience by being candid, irreverent, and willing to say things much of traditional Wall Street would rather leave unsaid. People love giving advice—but most of the time, it doesn't actually change anyone's behavior. In fact, there's a much more effective way to influence people that works far better than telling them what they should do. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4675534/ Hormones influence nearly every aspect of your life, yet most people only have a vague understanding of what they actually do. These powerful chemical signals affect mood, stress, sleep, energy, appetite, weight, sex drive, and much more. And when hormones fall out of balance, the effects can ripple throughout the entire body. Dr. Saira Hameed, endocrinologist and author of Signals: The Hidden Power and Secret Language of Hormones (https://amzn.to/4eO37IB), explains how hormones work, why they matter so much, and what happens when this intricate signaling system goes wrong. Everyone makes mistakes—but some mistakes hit differently. A bad decision involving work, relationships, money, or reputation can feel overwhelming and difficult to move past. Michael Lynton understands this firsthand. As former CEO of Sony Entertainment, he approved a film that unexpectedly triggered an international crisis involving North Korea, cyberattacks, leaked emails, and worldwide controversy. In our conversation, he explains what he learned from that experience, why major mistakes can shake your identity so deeply, and how people can recover, grow, and even find meaning after things go terribly wrong. He is co-author of From Mistakes to Meaning: Owning Your Past So It Doesn't Own You (https://amzn.to/4toBGZj). Coffee may be doing more for your health than simply waking you up. We also get into a debate on block versus random practice, why so many golfers struggle to take their range game to the course, and how a better pre-shot routine can improve commitment. This episode is all about practicing with more intention and turning your existing game into lower scores. You might be leading worship for the wrong reason… and not even know it. Andrew Holt has been leading worship since he was 12 years old. He built his life around it. And then one day he realized he had no idea who he was without it. In this episode of the Worship Online Podcast, Andrew shares how chasing ministry became a substitute for simply being a son of God. He talks about the season that broke him open, what he learned pouring lattes at a coffee shop at 5am, and why he could not be trusted with what God had in store until he could honestly say God was enough without the platform. Andrew is the worship pastor at The Belonging Co in Nashville, where he has spent 10 years building one of the most respected worship teams in the country. But this conversation is not really about Nashville. It is about the thing that trips up worship leaders everywhere, at every church size, at every level. Your identity is not earned. It is received.

Big Mistake
So I was already dealing with enough stress trying to plan my big day, but then my own mother decided to act like a total Karen and literally steal my wedding dress right out of my closet. She honestly has the audacity to think she should have a say in what I wear, and she seriously figured she could just take the gown and have it altered to her own "modest" standards without even asking me. It is just the most entitled thing I have ever heard of, and when I finally found where she was hiding it, I realized she had already cut into the lace and completely ruined the entire look of the dress. And then the confrontation turned into a total disaster when she tried to tell me I should be thanking her for fixing my "inappropriate" choice. I told her right then and there that she won't be coming to the wedding at all, and it felt like a heavy dose of ProRevenge when I sent her a bill for the full cost of the ruined gown and told her she is officially uninvited. Watching her go into a complete meltdown because she realized her meddling actually cost her the chance to see her daughter get married was a huge reality check she never saw coming. She honestly thought her role as a mother gave her a free pass to destroy my property, but she finally learned that I won't let her entitlement ruin my future. It is just mind blowing how a parent can be so selfish that they would actually sabotage their own child's happiness just to feel like they are in control. We see these kinds of toxic family dynamics all the time, and it is always a shock to see how far some people will go to force their own way.
