Today on another bonus episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are talking to a lost, family friend. Our guest today is actress and voice over actress extraordinaire, Pamela Dillman. How we connected to Pamela actually thanks to one of you, our listeners, Barbara Bassett, who alerted us to an interview with Pamela on another site and mentioned she was friends with Mia Kovacs, sister to host Josh Mills. What? Yes really. So we reached out and lo and behold, Pamela could not have been nicer, more kind, more loving in her effusive answer to, did she want to be a guest on our podcast. An emphatic yes! Pamela spoke to us about growing up the daughter of actor Bradford Dillman and the step daughter of one of the world's most famous models, Suzy Parker. Our conversation with Pamela involved everything from growing up with Mia and attending the very proper John Thomas Dye school in Los Angeles, to remembering going to Las Vegas and being in the wings when Mia's & Josh's mother Edie Adams was performing her cabaret act at Caesar's Palace on the strip and much more in between.. We also discuss Pam's working actor dad (her words, not ours) who is known for roles in everything from Escape From Planet of the Apes, The Enforcer, his breakout role in the film Compulsion and much, much more. And of course, how could we forget about Suzy Parker, a woman so famous, none other than The Beatles wrote a song about her? We seemingly split our time talking as if we were in group therapy or the grousing about the ridiculousness of Hollywood acting auditions, how her dad became a scout for the San Francisco 49ers football team as well as a truly harrowing story involving her sibling that you won't soon forget. This is the Rarified Heir Podcast. Get ready for an emotional one.

Build on the right foundation. Our life is built on His life! MESSAGE SUMMARY: Today, we delve into the profound mystery of the Holy Spirit and its vital role in our Christian walk. We're reminded that it's not just about having the Holy Spirit, but allowing the Spirit to have us - to lead and guide our lives. The message emphasizes three key sins against the Holy Spirit: grieving, quenching, and blaspheming. When we choose bitterness over love, or hold onto unforgiveness, we grieve the Spirit. Every time we sin, we quench the Spirit's flow in our lives. Yet, there's hope in confession, which reopens the floodgates of the Spirit's presence. This teaching challenges us to examine our hearts: Are we truly yielding to the Spirit's guidance? Are we living holy lives that honor God? It's a call to deeper surrender and a reminder of our constant need for the Spirit's empowering presence in our faith journey.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, I now take a deep breath and stop. So often I miss your hand and gifts in my life because I am preoccupied and anxious. Grant me the power to pause each day and each week to simply rest in your arms of love. In Jesus' name, amen.    Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 132). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Compulsions. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Patience. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). In this episode, I dive deep into the part of OCD that is not too often discussed: mental compulsions. Many of us are familiar with physical rituals like checking or handwashing...that being said, mental compulsions can be just as exhausting, and even harder to notice.I go into detail about what mental compulsions can look like and share examples, including mental checking, neutralizing thoughts, analyzing, reassurance-seeking in your head, rumination, and more. I'll also share specific examples to help you recognize when OCD shows up in these subtle ways, and why noticing and identifying them is a key step in recovery. I also share how mental compulsions can show up in Pure O OCD specifically. Whether you live with OCD yourself, support someone who does, or simply want to learn more about it, I hope this episode can be an introduction to this side of OCD that is not discussed enough. Today's Political and Religious Climates Harden Hearts of Many “Believers” Who Turn Away from God - Jesus Followers Are to and Can Help Those with Hardening Hearts MESSAGE SUMMARY: No matter the hardness of a person's heart, who has walked away from God, they will respond to your initiatives that are based on your love and trust. However, so many of us Christians are so focused on doing their religious or spiritual things and keeping to their “busy” schedules that they do not have time to love and care for the needs of other – physical and/or spiritual. Is there anything you can do for someone with a calloused heart or who has walked away from God because they were not discipled? Yes, you must start by praying for them – asking God to move in their lives; asking God to intervene in their life situations; asking God to break up the hardness of their heart. Also, you must build a better personal relationship, with this person, through your trust and caring love. In Mathew 18:12-13, Jesus presents God's perspective regarding the pursuit of even one person that has walked away: “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish."   TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, to you I acknowledge that I don't want to go the way of powerlessness and humility. Like Peter, I want to know what you are doing with those around me. I love you. Help me to trust you with this day, with tomorrow, and with my whole life. In Jesus' name, amen.        Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 92). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. Send us a textWhat if that cluttered bedroom or maxed-out credit card isn't about laziness or lack of willpower, but something much deeper? The truth hiding in plain sight might surprise you.Trauma leaves fingerprints everywhere – especially in our physical spaces. When life shatters our sense of safety, our environment often reflects that broken inner landscape. The woman whose spotless home slowly fills with clutter after her husband's betrayal. The shopaholic whose purchases provide fleeting moments of worth in a world that's taken too much. These aren't random behaviors; they're sophisticated protection mechanisms crafted by a wounded nervous system.Through compelling real-life stories, this episode demonstrates how our spaces become external manifestations of our internal wounds. You'll hear about Sue, whose home transformed from welcoming to severely cluttered after taking back her unfaithful husband, silently screaming what her voice couldn't. And another client whose perfectly decorated living room stood in stark contrast to her chaotic bedroom – a deliberate fortress keeping potential partners at bay after heartbreak. We explore how trauma becomes an invisible architect drawing blueprints in the unseen corners of our psyche, instructing us to "stay small, it's safer" or "keep everything, you might need it." These patterns aren't character flaws – they're adaptive responses to emotional wounds that haven't found proper healing channels. Most importantly, you'll discover how to approach these behaviors with curiosity instead of criticism, asking "what happened to you?" rather than "what's wrong with you?" Jesus Followers Are to Pray Directly to God for “all people” Because God “desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus taught us to pray to God for others and ourselves. We are told, in Hebrews 5:7-8, that Jesus, as a Human, prayed to God in both content and manner as: “In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications {submissive requests}, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.". In your personal relationship with God, you can come before God, as Jesus did, on behalf of yourself or others in Intercessory Prayer. You are given the privilege of following Moses' example for Intercessory Prayer because of what Jesus has done for you. Jesus has given you the privilege of entering the Throne Room of God to have access to God the Father – this access to God is through prayer.  In 1 Timothy 2:1-4, we are told the importance if intercessory prayer: “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.".   TODAY'S PRAYER: Unclutter my heart, O God, until I am quiet enough to hear you speak out of the silence. Help me in these few moments to stop, to listen, to wait, to be still, and to allow your presence to envelop me. In Jesus' name, amen.                 Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 23). In today's episode, we explore the groundbreaking intersection of addiction, biology, and cancer with internationally recognized scientist Dr. Rafael Cuomo. Drawing on insights from his book Crave, Dr. Cuomo reveals how addiction is not simply a behavioral or psychological issue—it's a biological condition that reshapes the terrain of our health and directly contributes to the development of chronic disease, including cancer. Dr. Cuomo introduces the concept of “molecular scars”—long-term physiological changes left behind by repeated addictive behaviors, even low-grade ones like screen use or ultra-processed food consumption. He explains how these behaviors disrupt key systems in the body, including the dopamine, opioid, GABA, glutamate, cortisol, and the endocannabinoid systems, ultimately weakening immune surveillance, fueling inflammation, and accelerating cellular damage. From the anticipatory nature of craving to the role of trauma and adverse childhood experiences, this episode invites clinicians, patients, and everyday listeners to reconsider addiction not as a character flaw, but as a biologically driven imbalance with profound public health implications.

Adam Jablin: Harnessing Compulsions to Fuel Passions | The Hopeaholics PodcastIn this powerful episode of The Hopeaholics Podcast, Adam Jablin, a recovery advocate, author, and creator of the Rewiring Addiction Loops Masterclass, shares his transformative journey from addiction to nearly two decades of sobriety, offering raw insights into overcoming personal struggles and embracing spiritual growth. Growing up as the self-described “fat kid” in New Jersey and later Boca Raton, Florida, Adam faced relentless bullying that fueled his extroverted, people-pleasing personality and eventual descent into substance abuse, starting with alcohol and escalating to speed by eighth grade, which temporarily masked his insecurities by transforming him into the “most attractive kid” in ninth grade. Despite achieving outward success with a multimillion-dollar business and family life, Adam's internal turmoil led to a profound emotional rock bottom, marked by existential despair and a confrontation with his ex-wife, who orchestrated a life-changing intervention with professional Michael Walsh. At the Hanley Center, Adam's encounter with a Catholic Priest and a striking UV light demonstration of invisible fingerprints sparked a spiritual awakening, shifting his view of God from an angry, judgmental figure to a loving force, aligning with his Jewish roots and newfound belief in a compassionate higher power. Now, with 19 years of sobriety, Adam channels his experiences into his New York Times bestselling self-published book, co-authored with his mentor, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with 56 years sober, and inspires others through his masterclass, emphasizing tools like “move a muscle, change a thought” to quiet the negative inner voice and live in alignment with pure motives.#thehopeaholics   #redemption #recovery #AlcoholAddiction #AddictionRecovery #wedorecover  #SobrietyJourney #MyStory #RecoveryIsPossible #Hope #wedorecover Join our patreon to get access to an EXTRA EPISODE every week of ‘Off the Record', exclusive content, a thriving recovery community, and opportunities to be featured on the podcast. https://patreon.com/TheHopeaholics Follow the Hopeaholics on our Socials:https://www.instagram.com/thehopeaholics https://linktr.ee/thehopeaholicsBuy Merch: https://thehopeaholics.myshopify.comVisit our Treatment Centers: https://www.hopebythesea.comIf you or a loved one needs help, please call or text 949-615-8588. To be apathetic to something is to experience a lack of feeling or emotion in response to an event. For the Dukes, it's the word of the show. Xbox has been mismanaged for an entire generation and it has come at the cost of losing world class talents alongside studios. It was just in 2024 that we lost Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, Roundhouse Studios, and Alpha Dog Games. There was also the formidable Toys For Bob that went independent. That alone was more than enough to last us a generation, but today we learned that Xbox has closed down the studio they started back in 2018: The Initiative. Alongside that, Rare's Everwild has been canceled on top of a new IP from Zenimax Online Studios. There's no other way to slice it. For Xbox to improve, leadership must be held accountable. The question is if they ever will and given how situations at teams like Bungie have gone down, we expect a meek, weak willed level of accountability to the bloodbath at Microsoft this week. Indeed, much of the frustration is built off the back of constant, mind-numbing, inconsistent messaging. It was only in February that CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, said Everwild was really shaping up. It was canceled today. With such wishy-washy messaging to their fans, the brand is at a point where no one can believe anything they say. Sure, a partnership with AMD to do next-generation consoles was announced within the last month. How can we trust that? It's the lowest level of trust asked of a consumer that you can believe an announcement when you see it. Instead, the only message we're left with is that if you're not a mega-hit in the making, Xbox wants to have no part of you. What does this say to teams like Compulsion and Ninja Theory or larger developers like Obsidian that like to split off in pursuit of smaller titles? It's amusing that Xbox has done this in the name of creating a sustainable business yet their methods and approach to making games is arguably the least sustainable thing we've seen. They're all in on a subscription service while putting tens of millions of dollars into making games. How it'll all shake up will be interesting to watch, but many of us know how this story will end. In this episode, we explore the often-overlooked compulsion of rumination—a mental habit that feels productive but actually keeps us stuck in the obsessive-compulsive loop. We delve into the nature of rumination, why it feels automatic, and how it deceptively presents itself as a means to figure things out. But rather than providing clarity, rumination only leads to further compulsions and deepens the cycle of OCD. Robert shares insights on how to interrupt this mental spiral, challenging you to stop viewing rumination as a thinking problem and start seeing it as a behavioral one. By mastering the art of recognizing when you're caught in the loop and shifting focus to more value-driven actions, you can begin to manage OCD symptoms more effectively. God Blesses You in Your Obedience, but God Leaves You to the Consequences of Your Sin in Your Disobedience MESSAGE SUMMARY: Your relationship with God is only between you and God. God desires relationships with each of us, individually, even though you may have been fortunate enough to have a Godly mother, father, siblings, and/or a spouse. God has given us covenants upon which to build His relationship with you, as Paul tells us in Romans 8:34-35: “Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?". The people of the Old Testament found that living apart from God's covenant relationship brought disaster. God is a covenant God; He will bless you if you obey Him. If you disobey God, God leaves you to the consequences of your sins.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, you know how difficult it is for me to be in silence before you. At times it feels almost impossible, given the demands, distractions, and noise all around me. I invite you to lead me to a quiet, silent place before you — to a place where I can hear you as Elijah did. In Jesus' name, amen.     Scazzero, Peter. In this profound episode, I sit down with Steve Palmer to explore an experience few dare to discuss openly: the struggle to conquer ego-dystonic autogynephilia. Steve experiences his compulsions to cross-dress and engage in paraphilic behavior as contradictory to his sense of self and the moral values by which he chooses to live.Steve's story is one of remarkable resilience, tracing a journey from adolescent confusion through drug-induced psychosis to a hard-won spiritual transformation. A heterosexual man with a strong masculine core, he shares candidly about how early sexual imprinting and personal challenges created a complex internal landscape. Despite bullying, intrusive thoughts, and deep internal conflict, he chose a path of radical honesty and personal accountability.Through faith, discipline, and commitment to his marriage and family, Steve has found a way to manage these impulses without letting them define him. His journey challenges simplistic narratives about gender and sexuality, offering a nuanced perspective on overcoming deeply ingrained psychological patterns. He speaks openly about the role of spirituality in healing, the importance of gratitude, and the ongoing work of maintaining his sense of self. For men struggling with similar experiences, Steve offers a message of hope and resilience. His story demonstrates that recovery is possible – not through suppression, but through honest confrontation, spiritual guidance, and personal growth. While compulsions may persist, they need not control one's life or identity. This episode provides a profound exploration of masculinity, sexual identity, and human transformation. Steve's candid discussion offers compassion and understanding for those wrestling with similar struggles, showing how one can navigate complex internal experiences with integrity and purpose.Steve Palmer knows something of the pain and affliction common to men that struggle with autogynephilia. He has experienced near unrelenting inner conflict and pressure to conform to daily AGP desires since age 12. Years of inner struggle slowly led him to consider that embracing these desires fulltime was the only way to silence the storm within.  Steve pursued answers through psychedelic experimentation and Buddhist practice in his early twenties. Drug induced and recurrent psychotic episodes followed. In his darkest hours he was willing to consider that maybe he was wrong about God. For the last 18 years he has trusted Jesus to show him how to live anew. Steve offers from experience how men struggling with AGP need not allow it to destroy their masculinity, their marriages, or their lives.Steve's Youtube Channel, Grace By Which I Stand[00:01:48] Hope and healing in struggles.[00:05:00] Hormone use and identity clash.[00:08:58] Internal struggles and self-identity.[00:12:09] Sexual addiction and recovery.[00:13:04] Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and conscientiousness.[00:17:36] Experiencing Buddhism through meditation.[00:20:55] Drug-induced psychosis recovery.[00:24:00] Truth vs. personal desire.[00:25:57] Spiritual vs. biological components of schizophrenia.[00:30:31] Spiritual agreements and deliverance.[00:32:10] Spiritual realm experiences and authority.[00:39:12] Nature of evil in ideology.[00:40:06] Grace requires honesty.[00:42:40] Gender identity and personal testimony.[00:46:35] Repression and identity struggle.[00:51:47] Erotic target location error.[00:56:55] Parallel play in relationships.[00:58:33] Overcoming personal struggles and growth.[01:01:25] Marriage as a gift from God.[01:06:40] Ego-dystonic vs. ego-syntonic.[01:09:40] Learning from transition experiences.[01:12:24] Support for men seeking honesty.[01:15:20] Forgiveness and personal growth.[01:19:12] Relationship transparency and struggles.[01:22:36] Masculine drive and self-soothing.[01:26:50] Overcoming personal challenges.[01:29:11] Consequences of personal choices.ROGD REPAIR Course + Community gives concerned parents instant access to over 120 lessons providing the psychological insights and communication tools you need to get through to your kid. True Crime Tuesday presents: Body Parts: A Serial Killer's Deadly Compulsions with Journalist/Author, Caitlin Rother! When Wayne Adam Ford walked into the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office in November 1998 with a woman's body part in his jacket pocket, the 36-year-old truck driver wasn't a suspect in any crime. After a lengthy investigation spanning four California counties and a sensational trial, he was convicted of the torture and murder of four women. His first victim, whom he dismembered, would remain unidentified for 25 years. While serving honorably in the Marine Corps, Ford had learned life-saving techniques that gave him structure and purpose. But a severe head injury worsened pre-existing emotional problems, rendering him unable to suppress his dark sexual impulses. Knowing he would kill again, he enlisted his brother's help to turn himself in. Award-winning investigative journalist Caitlin Rother drew on previously sealed testimony and interviewed key players in the case, including Ford's brother and father, to write this intimate and psychologically resonant narrative. Extensively updated with the inside details of how Ford's first victim was recently identified through DNA testing and forensic genealogy, this classic true crime story continues to haunt us On today's TCT, Caitlin Rother joins the show to talk about the unusual way they found out the identity of "Torso Girl", Wayne Adam Ford's first victim! We also talk about the unusual relationship between Ford, his brother, Rodney and his father, Gene, and how it had changed over the years. We also delve into the strange dichotomy between Ford and his mother and ask the question, was it genetics, or the way Ford's mother treated/raised Ford, that drove him over the edge and warped his view of women!   Get your copy of "Body Parts:..." here:  https://bit.ly/43d3SDA Check out Caitlin Rother here:  https://www.caitlinrother.com/ PLUS AN ALL-NEW DUMB CRIMES/STUPID CRIMINALS WITH WAYNE D!
