DITZ is an English noise rock/post-punk band that formed in Brighton in 2016. The band is most well known for an erratic live show influenced by the hardcore punk and noise rock of the 80s and 90s, which sets them apart from their peers in the UK post-punk scene. DITZ consists of Cal Francis (vocals), Anton Mocock (Guitar), Sam Evans (Drums), Jack Looker (Guitar) and Caleb Remnant (bass). In episode 54 I talk to Zach Choy from Crack Cloud about Gene Clark, an American singer-songwriter and founding member of the folk rock band the Byrds.He was the Byrds' principal songwriter between 1964 and early 1966, writing most of the band's best-known originals from this period, including "I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better", "She Don't Care About Time", "Eight Miles High" and "Set You Free This Time". Although he did not achieve commercial success as a solo artist, Clark was in the vanguard of popular music during much of his career, prefiguring developments in such disparate subgenres as psychedelic rock, baroque pop, newgrass, country rock, and alternative country. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 as a member of the Byrds.

June is looking very busy for team Atelier, with 2 major festivals taking place in different locations as well as a string of big headliner gigs. Programmer of Den Atelier, Michel Welter, joined Tom on the Breakfast Show this morning to have a look at some of the concerts that they have coming up in this busy month. On the 11th and 12th of June, the Usina 22 festival takes place at the old steel works behind Opderschmelz in Dudelange. The programme is a collaborative effort that sees Luxembourg's major venues each offering something to the line up. Highlights include The Mysterines. Crack Cloud, Charlotte Adigery and Bolis Popul, Caribou and headliners Kings of Leon. Then on the 25th of June Siren's Call takes place in the beautiful setting of the Abbey Neumunster in Luxembourg City. The festival will see local talent Chaild and upcoming alternative rockers Enola Gay play alongside favourites Nothing But Thieves and headliners The Hives. Then on the 27th The Smile, the new outing by Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood will perform also at the Abbey. Luka Heindrichs, booker of De Gudde Wellen, joined Tom today on The Breakfast Show to discuss the Usina22 festival that is happening on the 11th and 12th of June in Dudelange as part of the Esch2022 cultural programming. Over two days and nights in June, 14 of Luxembourg's key cultural institutions, organisations and players will collaborate on the Usina22 festival, each bringing their own character and input to the collaboratively formed lineup. The festival will take place in the impressive post-industrial setting of the old Dudelange steel works behind Opderschmelz and will see artists such as Francis of Delirium, Crack Cloud, The Mysterines, Bolis Popul & Charlotte Adigery, Caribou, Kings of Leon and more perform to an audience of 10,000 people. El Top definitivo del 2020 De nuevo me tenéis por aquí, en “Los vinilos de Barbarella”, para hablar de mis gustos personales que en gran medida se centran en grupos bastante recientes o que siguen activos, y que muchos de ellos me gustarían poder tener en formato vinilo y otros quizás os puedan interesar también a vosotros. En esta ocasión os traigo los que para mi son los 35 mejores proyectos de este pasado año 2020. Hay un poco de todo: desde el metal más agresivo, pasando por el post-punk ochentero, al pop-punk más animado o el indie-rock mejor elaborado.  En este listado escucharemos temas pertenecientes a discos como lo último de la mítica banda de indie rock y garage rock The Strokes, la nueva banda de grunge Violent Soho, el mejor pop-punk de la mano de All Time Low o el primer álbum en solitario de la líder del grupo de rock alternativo y pop-punk Paramore, Hayley Williams. Este Top está basado en mi opinión totalmente subjetiva, y estoy seguro que muchas de las bandas os llamarán la atención, ya que me quedó un listado bastante variado y con algunos grupos no muy conocidos. Los mejores discos de un año para olvidar A pesar de haber sido para muchos el peor año de la historia debido a la pandemia, es innegable que ha sido un año increíble en cuanto a lanzamientos musicales, y no encontraba mejor forma de demostrarlo que con este vídeo.  Hay que decir que, aún así, por falta de tiempo me han faltado escuchar grandes lanzamientos de este año como el ‘Gigaton’ de Pearl Jam, el ‘Fetch the Bolcutters’ de Fiona Apple, el ‘Forever And Ever X Infinity’ de New Found Glory o el ‘Ohms’ de Deftones que estoy seguro de que echareis en falta, pero no se puede estar a todo  Es un listado donde nos podremos encontrar proyectos de todos los estilos que personalmente me gustan. Y sinceramente me ha quedado un top con bastante variedad de géneros: desde el indie rock, pasando por el rock alternativo, el metal industrial, el pop-punk, etc… Estoy seguro de que además de que os pondréis al día de los lanzamientos de vuestros grupos favoritos, también descubriréis otros muchos grupos y artistas que, seguro que desconocíais en esta sección, y que seguramente podréis disfrutar de todos ellos durante este nuevo año. En este programa escucharemos a el proyecto de rock alternativo de la banda británica Boston Manor, el metal industrial más agresivo de la banda Code Orange, o una de las mejores nuevas bandas del pop-punk actual, Knuckle Puck Este listado consta de estos proyectos según su posicionamiento: 35. Un bellissimo singolo dai toni classici che, insieme ad una splendida cover di Vedrai, vedrai di Tenco, ci porta un po' indietro nel tempo in questo malinconico novembre. *il brano è ovviamente Carne e non Brace, che invece è una canzone stupenda di Tabula Rasa Elettrificata. Crack Cloud - "Tunnel Vision" from the 2020 album Pain Olympics on Meat Machine Records. Through the fog of Vancovuer's opioid crisis, Crack Cloud emerged. “Crack Cloud was an outlet for me during the early days of my rehab,” vocalist and drummer Zach Choy explained toNME. “A way of addressing things I’d internalised over the years, the anxiety and turmoil I used to deal with in more destructive ways.” Since then, the band has evolved into a full-on arts collective of musicians, film-makers, artists, and designers, many of whom are recovering addicts themselves or people who work with addicts. Their debut album, Pain Olympics, lists almost 30 contributors in both musicianship and artistry. Many of the members of Crack Cloud live and work together in harm reduction units located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
