Looks Unfamiliar is a podcast in which writer and occasional broadcaster Tim Worthington talks to a guest about some of the things that they remember that nobody else ever seems to.This is a collection of highlights from Looks Unfamiliar featuring Suzy Robinson on Crown Court, Danny Kodicek on Fox Tales, Bob Fischer and Georgy Jamieson on Why Don't You...?, Paul Abbott on Disneytime Rotadraw, Genevieve Jenner on Fruitopia, Adam S. Leslie on I Heard Your Name by Martin Rev and Justin Lewis on I Hate J.R. by The Wurzels. Along the way we'll be revealing when BBC Test Card F might actually be your less terrifying viewing option, listening to a 1970s heroin-y version of They Might Be Giants, arguing over whether the best Catatonia album was the first one or the first one, assessing the best way to draw TV's Simon And Simon, remaking the Bitter Sweet Symphony video with the bloke out of The Wurzels, speculating on the efficacy of Kiss-Me-Quick-Hats sported by popular television puppets, revisiting Jamiroquai's duet with some puppet caterpillars, soliciting The Jesus And Mary Chain's theories on Who Shot J.R.?, organising a day trip to the exact spot where Roland Rat pushed Kevin The Gerbil down a hill, shuddering at the thought of The Jim Rose Circus Sideshow's most repulsive exhibit and and revealing why the hippy trail is strewn with striking dustbins, cough medicine and Crown Court. Plus there's tips on how Blanco from Porridge can help your party go with a swing! Also there's extracts from Tim talking about Billy Liar on Goon Pod Film Club, Now - The Summer Album on Back To Now and George Martin's By George! on The Big Beatles Sort Out, and an extra bit of Bob and Georgy questioning Will Smith's approach to summertime scheduling...You can find more editions of Looks Unfamiliar at timworthington.org.If you enjoy Looks Unfamiliar, you can help to support the show by buying us a coffee here. Today, the Spotlight shines On musician and songwriter Nicholas Dembling, aka Nic North, aka Nic West, of seminal New York CIty New Wave Pop band, Comateens. The New York that birthed Comateens was in the midst of a particularly vibrant musical moment. There was new music everywhere. Jazz cats were staging loft concerts in pre-glitz SOHO. The punks and no wavers were holding court on the Lower East Side. Philip Glass and the minimalists were premiering new works and way up in the Bronx, hip hop was coming on strong.Nic was working at New York's MediaSound recording studio where he and co-worker Ramona Lee Jan began to write songs together. My guest this week is Martin Rev from legendary and hugely influential electronic act, Suicide. Artists that have cited Suicide as a direct influence include, Vince Clarke, Soft Cell, OMD, Cabaret Voltaire and The Human League It was a real honour to interview one of my all-time favourite electronic musicians. Suicide's excellent third album 'A Way Of Life' has been remastered and re-leased via Mute records and can be ordered here; https://mutebank.co.uk/collections/suicide
Disk Jockeys, aka DJs, are very strong in music history. They anchored many rap, hip-hop, house, and dubstep artists throughout the 80s and 90s. My interest is piqued on the experimental side, creating electrifying sounds, weird synths, and beats that make you cringe. Down here in south Florida, you get your average DJ there good, but not experimental like many DJs on the west or up north Florida taking dubstep to the levels like Alan Vega and Martin Rev did with their band Suicide. Trippy from Trippydubz is an experimental dubstep DJ out here in south Florida. The progression drops beats he makes, showing strength in cooperating with different sounds to keep your feet moving and the anxiety pumping. In this episode we mark the 40th anniversary of the death of arguably the greatest — and certainly the most "almost famous" — writer in the history of music journalism. Two of Lester Bangs's closest Creem colleagues (both wonderful writers in their own right) join us from California to reminisce about the man and his work. Jaan Uhelszki, who started in the Creem office the same day as Lester, gets the ball rolling by putting Detroit's "anti-Rolling Stone" in context. Robert Duncan, who arrived two years later in 1974, adds his recollections of "America's only rock'n'roll magazine" [sic] before paying tribute to Lester. Respect, laughter and sadness ensue as Robert & Jaan discuss their friend's gonzoid genius, his exasperating foibles and the addiction that killed him at 33, six years after Robert persuaded him to move to New York. Seminal New York duo Suicide — beloved of Bangs — are the subjects of the week's new audio interview, clips from which feature pioneering electropunks Alan Vega & Martin Rev talking in 1998 about their "confrontational" live act, their introduction of the word "punk" into NYC's music scene in 1971… and Vega's love of British comedy The Full Monty! Finally, Mark talks us through his highlights among the articles recently added to the RBP library, including pieces about the Righteous Brothers, Laura Nyro, Jeff Beck at the Fillmore East, Pharoah Saunders and England's miserable Bickershaw festival. Barney notes a 1988 Paul Morley rumination on, yes, music journalism… and Jasper quotes from a John Doran "review" of Aphex Twin's Collapse. Many thanks to special guests Robert Duncan and Jaan Uhelszki; you can visit Robert's website at duncanwrites.com and find more of Jaan's writing on her RBP writer's page. Pieces discussed: Lester on RBP, Lester Bangs and Almost Famous, Richard Riegel on Lester, Robert Duncan, Lester on the MC5, Lester on how to be a rock critic, Lester on Astral Weeks, Lester on punk/jazz, Suicide audio, Righteous Brothers, Laura Nyro, Pharaoh Sanders, George Jones, Grateful Dead & Jeff Beck Group, Bickershaw festival, KISS, Divine, Paul Morley on the rock press and Aphex Twin's Collapse. Liz Lamere and Jared Artuad join us this week on Aquarium Drunkard's weekly talk show podcast Transmissions to discuss the life, work, and creative philosophies of the late Alan Vega. As one-half of Suicide, alongside his partner Martin Rev, Vega blazed a trail of provocative, synth-driven art rock that was often too punk for the punks. From there, his solo career found him making forays into pop music with producer Ric Ocasek, painting, and constantly creating, rarely working on any terms other than his own. For this program, his widow and creative partner Lamere and collaborator Artaud join host Jason P. Woodbury to discuss the Vega Vault, a vast trove of unreleased material that's yielded posthumous releases like It and Mutator on the Sacred Bones label, Surrender, a new career spanning Suicide comp, and Liz Lamere's Keep It Alive, out May 20 on In the Red Records.
Today's epic episode of Electronically Yours features, without doubt, one of the most influential proto-punk artists; Martin Rev. His provocative and game-changing work as half of the truly exceptional New York band Suicide was unique, and influenced a huge number of electronic pop bands. Their's was a glimpse of the future as ‘no future' in the 70's, totally unclassifiable and inspired a huge number of musicians, from Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire, to early Human League and OMD. Suicide's transgressive live shows were the stuff of unforgettable legend. Martin is still a creative powerhouse today… Ladies and gentlemen - this is a profound and unmissable episode – meet Martin Rev… If you can, please support the Electronically Yours podcast via my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/electronicallyours

Keyboard wizard and punk pioneer Martin Rev, (born Martin Reverby) grew up in New York where he still lives today. In his youth, he was a fan of doo wop music, and then became engrossed in the emerging jazz world that was happening around him, brushing shoulders with the likes of Thelonious Monk, Archie Shepp and Eric Dolphy, and playing in a combo called Reverend B in the late 1960s. It was in those days that he befriended a visual artist called Alan Vega, with whom he would soon form a band named Suicide. They were likely the first group to advertise their performance as “Punk Music,” back in 1971, and their influence is far-reaching. Artists who have reworked their songs include Henry Rollins, Bruce Springsteen, Neneh Cherry, M.I.A and R.E.M., among countless others. Martin Rev has also been a solo artist in his own right since, well, forever really. He joins this program to speak with Markly Morrison and Madison Nadine to talk about his formative years, expound on his creative process, wax philosophical on art in general, and set the record straight on a handful things that the well-meaning citizens of the internet got twisted. -----Portrait of Martin Rev painted by Nathan Berko-GibsonHelp make Low Profile better by donating at http://www.patreon.com/lowprofile(Yes, there's bonus stuff there)Find more about this and previous episodes at http://www.lowprofilepodcast.comFollow on IG @lowpropodcastLow Profile recieves in-kind support from the following Olympia, WA independent businesses:Old School Pizzeria, San Francisco Street Bakery, Schwart'z Deli, Rainy Day Records, and Scherler Easy Premium Shitty American Lager from Three Magnets Brewing. Thanks for listening!
Drive Like Jehu was an American post-hardcore band from San Diego active from 1990 to 1995. It was formed by rhythm guitarist and vocalist Rick Froberg and lead guitarist John Reis, ex-members of Pitchfork, along with bassist Mike Kennedy and drummer Mark Trombino, both from Night Soil Man, after their two bands disbanded in 1990. Drive Like Jehu's music was characterized by passionate singing, unusual song structure, indirect melodic themes, intricate guitar playing, and calculated use of tension, resulting in a distinctive sound amongst other post-hardcore acts and helped to catalyze the evolution of hardcore punk into emo. In this episode all songs by bands selected by Drive Like Jehu to play All Tomorrow's Parties 2.0 April 22-24, 2016. Lineup: Hot Snakes, The Blind Shake, Mrs. Magician, Flamin' Groovies, The King Khan & BBQ Show, The Schizophonics, Metz, Mission Of Burma, The Gories, King Khan and the Shrines, The Spits, Rocket From The Crypt, Betunizer, The Monkeywrench, Holly Golightly, Dan Sartain, Martin Rev, Tortoise, The Ex, PyPy, Gary Wilson, Claw Hammer, Wau y Los Arrrghs
In the cold New York City December of 1977, Allen Vega and Martin Rev released their debut album on the Red Star Label. The album was recorded over the course of four days and is considered by many to be one of the best records of all time. Let's talk Suicide, Suicide!
The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time Suicide, 'Suicide' Red Star, 1977 These New York synth-punks evoke everything from the Velvet Underground to rockabilly. Martin Rev's low-budget electronics are violent and hypnotic; Alan Vega screams as a rhythmic device. Late-night listening to “Frankie Teardrop,” a 10-minute-plus tale of a multiple murder, is not recommended. A droning voice in the wilderness when they appeared in the Seventies, the duo would influence bands from Arcade Fire and the National to Bruce Springsteen, who covered Suicide live in 2016. - Rolling Stone Rolling Stone's pick: Frankie Teardrop Lauren's pick: Ghost Rider Tom's pick: Ghost Rider Listen to the full album here! On his weekly show, Elevation Through Sound, Ale plays the obscure gems your ears have always craved but never come across. Elevation through Sound provides lucky listeners with a journey through the full sound spectrum. Alejandro Cohen is a musician and composer from Los Angeles, California. He has worked as composer of music for TV shows, documentaries, and educational materials. Ale is also the Executive Director of dublab. This program will feature a conversation with Liz Lamere and Jared Artaud who collaborated with Alan Vega and brought to light Vega's latest Mutator. Ale talks to Liz and Jared about Vega's creative process, the Vega Vault Project and more. Alan Vega's Mutator out now on Sacred Bones The visual artist, musician, and poet Alan Vega was born in Brooklyn in 1938. He co-founded the massively influential avant-garde band Suicide with Martin Rev in 1970, with whom he performed off and on throughout his life. Vega would go on to have a prolific career as a solo artist. His hit song “Jukebox Babe” led to a contract with Elektra Records, who released two albums including the cult classic Saturn Strip, produced by Ric Ocasek. From there, rejecting the commercial machine, he went back to his roots, doing a deep dive into experimenting with sound in the studio. This era resulted in new solo records coming out consistently throughout the next several decades; starting with Deuce Avenue, continuing through Dujang Prang (on Henry Rollins' 2.13.61 imprint), and culminating with his masterpiece It. Vega considered the albums from this period the audio counterpoint to his visual art that reflected the world around him while simultaneously delving into universal themes. It makes his work as relevant today as it was then. It was during this period that he began working with Liz Lamere, who became his wife and the most crucial collaborator of his solo career. Lamere, along with fellow Vega collaborator Jared Artaud, discovered in 2019 the lost Vega album, Mutator, which they co-produced and mixed. Along with creative director Michael Handis, they are now spearheading the Alan Vega Vault project, which aims to bring rare and unreleased work from throughout Vega's career to the public for the first time. Mutator was recorded with Lamere at Vega's NYC studio from 1995-1996, and it serves as a document of a particularly fertile time in his creative life. He had 11 full-length solo albums come out during the ‘80s, '90s and ‘00s — plus numerous collaborations, and Suicide records: A Way of Life, Why Be Blue and American Supreme. Mutator wasn't shelved intentionally, but Vega's back-to-the-grindstone M.O. meant that he had moved on to making his next record before this one was finished. At the time of the Mutator sessions, Vega was massively inspired by what was happening in the streets of New York — not only the hip hop scenes that were exploding throughout the outer boroughs, but also the literal sounds of the streets, the traffic noise and industrial ambience of city living. That influence trickled into the sounds he and Lamere captured in those sessions. That sensibility, paired with Vega's unmistakable voice and force of personality, is what made it the great album it is now. The final piece was the production job, completed by Lamere and Artaud 25 years after the songs were first captured. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dublab-inconversation/support

Suicide with Martin Rev in conversation with David Eastaugh Suicide was an American musical duo composed of vocalist Alan Vega and instrumentalist Martin Rev, intermittently active between 1970 and 2016. The group's pioneering music utilized minimalist electronic instrumentation, including synthesizersand primitive drum machines, and their early performances were confrontational and often ended in violence. They were among the first acts to use the phrase "punk music" in an advertisement for a concert in 1970.

Tosh and Kimley discuss "Suicide’s Suicide" by Andi Coulter from the 33 1/3 series. Suicide was a band comprised of Alan Vega on vocals and Martin Rev as the sole multi-instrumentalist. Spawned from the wreckage of 1970s New York, the band never seemed to find a wide audience but those in the know who were lucky enough to have seen them perform live were the participants in a show that surely would not be forgotten. Typically described as an assault to the senses with a strong vibe of imminent violence, most people didn’t quite know what to make of them. But as so often happens with cult artists, their influence casts a wide net and continues to do so to this day. Theme music: "Behind Our Efforts, Let There Be Found Our Efforts" by LG17
This week we talk about the immensely influential electronic duo, Suicide. Comprised of Martin Rev and Alan Vega, Suicide helped pioneer electronic, industrial, noise, and experimental music, as well as helping to coin the term “punk” in music. These guys influenced pretty much every band ever since the early 80s. Musically, they are absolutely not for everyone (especially considering crowds responded with violence at many of their early shows). However, their importance is as relevant as ever. Crazy band with a rich and inspiring history.Closing track: “Mr. Ray” from Suicide: Alan Vega and Martin Rev (1980)Check out our episode playlists on Spotify! https://open.spotify.com/user/motherpuncherincMike’s Picks:Suicide: Alan Vega and Martin Rev (1980) — Best Album, Personal FavoriteA Way of Life (1988) — Worst AlbumAlex’s Picks:Suicide: Alan Vega and Martin Rev (1980) — Best Album, Personal FavoriteWhy Be Blue? Marseilles is mostly know for its hip hop and reggae/ragamuffin scenes, respectively heralded by bans like IAM or Massilia Sound System. But the city’s diversity also reflects in its music scenes. With this show Radio Grenouille decided to focus on « electronic » music. Rather than showcasing techno, that, here as elsewhere, is the main genre of electronic music, we decided to invite artists that, each in their own way, are situated on the more edgier but still accessible sides of electro aesthetics. French 79 is one of the main musical « success stories » that have happened in Marseilles in the last years. Before being known as French 79, Simon Henner is part of Nasser, an electro-rock band that is reaching a large audience and is playing on the main stages in festivals. Simon is also a member of Husbands (named after John Cassavetes ‘ movie), a trio he is forming with pop artists Oh !TigerMountain and Kid Francescoli. As French 79, his second album « Joshua », released in november 2019, and where he sings for the first time, seems to be promised to an even larger success than its previous opus. As in all his other projects, being a cinema fan, image is very important. He is doing constant references to movies and to the universe of cinema. He is also producing for other artists, mostly in pop music, like Kid Francescole, Martin Rev or Isaya, a duo of Twin Sisters for whom he produced an entire album an album and a few songs on the next one. Then we are receiving in our studio Velvetian Sky and Vertiqua, two musicians/producers representing a fresh new label, Fada Records. Electronica, hip hop, house, jazz, the scope of musical styles Fada Records is releasing, mostly on cassettes, is quite broad. Influenced by labels like Warp and the L.A. Beat scne, Velvetian Sky is one of the founders of Fada, which is operating between Marseilles and Los Angeles since 2018. Discreet and very active at the same time, they just opened a “lifestyle” shop in the neighbourhood of Le Panier, though it will certainly not last as the duo is about to move to Lyon next year. Vertiqua is from Germany and moved to Marseilles a few months ago. His productions are innervated by house and jazz. The duo is also producing music as Basketball Alpaca, a new project not yet released which they invite us to discover in this show. For RadioMuse we also choosed to present the latest releases from David Walters and Bongi, whom respectively blend their Caribbean and South African roots with occidental aesthetics. David Walters is a singer, songwriter, producer who released several albums already, and a globetrotter also known via the TV show “Les Nouveaux Explorateurs” on national TV Canal Plus, where he discovers different countries and cultures through music and musicians.. Bongi sings her own compositions in her native xhosa language. Working with local musicians of diverse backgrounds, after a first album, she just released a new EP where cohabit folk, rock and diverse South African influences. @radio-grenouille @radiomuse - NOUS SUIVRE | www.radiocampus.fr Insta @radio_campus TW @radiocampus FB @radiocampus NOUS ECOUTER | liste des fréquences FM sur www.radiocampus.fr webradio: bit.ly/RCFRenDIRECT

There is a burp hidden on this week's Safe As Milk preview episode, so if you can find it, comment on the All Yesterday's Parties Facebook page, or tweet us at @ayppodcast with the precise minute at second of the burp! This week, our indomitable heroes gather to discuss Karen Gwyer, Craig Leon & Martin Rev, and Jeff Mills & Tony Allen. There is also some wonderment at the way some artists' work is described on the Safe As Milk website, Gordon gets a well-known phrase just wrong enough to make everyone wince, and last week's Artist Choice experiment gets another go. Will it be successful? Listen and find out. As we move ever closer to summer, let's kick off this week with some shouty punk from Sweden. Elsewhere we have the usual mix of electronics, hiphop, and general experimentation you'd expect from your weekly dose of exciting independent music.

BANDCAMP: https://bit.ly/2EcjjQL Day of the Locust by Jon Averill 3/3/16 London United Kingdom 1. Frank Sinatra - Empty (Extract) This podcast began after a conversation about how overrated I thought Frank Sinatra was. As if to prove myself wrong I shone a spotlight into the darker area of his back catalogue. 2. Fridge - Cut Up Piano & Xylophones Polyphonic probing from Kieran Hebden, Adem Ilhan, & Sam Jeffers. Recording as Fridge back in 2001. 3. Perdita - Rubber City This sounds like it's from a David Lynch film, because it is; Wild at Heart from 1990. 4. HomeSick, Silkersoft & Keight - Faraway Suede Fresh beats recorded at this year's Red Bull Music Academy in Paris. 5. Sinoia Caves - Elena's Sound-World From the soundtrack of Beyond the Black Rainbow, a queasy & uneven retro styled sci-fi film from 2010. 6. Iggy Pop - The Endless Sea Relatively restrained & nuanced balladeering. Endless Sea is from 1979. Which is the last time Iggy Pop wore a shirt. 7. Donald Byrd - Cristo Redentor (Loop) I looped the intro of this track (which also appears on podcast 18) to serve as underpinning for the next. 8. William S. Burroughs - From Here To Eternity A caustic, sardonic piece from Burrough's collection of short stories; ‘Exterminator' from 1973. 9. Thomas Leer & Robert Rental - Day Breaks, Night Heals Proper fuzzy, nasty electronic resonance from 1979. Man music. 10. Vangelis - Le Singe Bleu Been listening to Van the man's pre Blade Runner output a lot recently. This is from 1973's L'Apocalypse des Animaux. 11. Lee Hazlewood - The Nights Hazlewood is the grizzled troubadour who documented the fast disappearing American frontier. We play a lot of Lee on this podcast so much so I actually had to search back through the previous 62 episodes to make sure this track hasn't already been used. 12. P-Model - Kameari Pop Amazing freaky outlandish electropop from Japan circa 1979. 13. Dave Clarke - Splendour Crunchy tractor hip-hop from techno stalwart Dave Clarke showcasing the power of the loop. 14. Gareth Anton Averill - Little Palace Horns Another track recorded at this year's Red Bull Music Academy. Familiar name too. 15. Alan Vega - Love Cry This continues the outsider art template Vega created in Suicide alongside Martin Rev. 16. Moritz Reich - La Fabrique des hommes tristes: Ouverture French melancholy from frenchman Moritz Reich. 17. Frank Sinatra - Empty Is Frank returns to complete one of the more interesting songs in his cannon. I'm still not fully sold though. 18. Laraaji - Zither Dance Apparently discovered by Brian Eno. New age clanging & banging from Laraaji closes out this episode with a hypnotic zither melody. 19. Mare Street Band Recording A little post-script recording I made in Hackney that threatens to break into the Lambada at any point.
If you come out of the indie community and you make synth-based music, you owe a huge debt to an iconic duo called Suicide. In fact, if you come out of the indie community at all, you owe a huge debt to Suicide. Starting in New York’s East Village in the early ’70s, Suicide were confrontational, tough, and absolutely visionary, and they were one of the first punk rock bands. But they had no guitars: it was just Martin Rev on cheap electric keyboards and drum machines, and notorious singer Alan Vega. This revolutionary, very DIY approach initially influenced English synth bands from Erasure to Throbbing Gristle, and went on to become a huge influence on industrial dance music, and everything from noise to ambient. Suicide has been covered by everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Savages, and their influence extends to bands like LCD Soundsystem, Liars and MIA, who sampled them on her 2010 track “Born Free.” Neon Indian’s Alan Palomo is a big Suicide fan, and he recently commissioned Martin Rev to remix “Annie,” a track from his new album VEGA INTL. Night School. So we invited these two representatives of different, but related, musical generations to sit down for a Talkhouse Music Podcast. They talked about all sorts of things: how you know when your music is done, the economic realities of being an artist, the evolution of New York City as an artistic capitol, creative cycles and the effect of the internet, and the birth of punk rock. Palomo knows his stuff, and Rev throws down a whole lot of hard-earned knowledge and wisdom, so listen closely.

While many feel comfortable using canned or frozen Electro as their soup base, Destroyed For Comfort prefers to whip up their Electro from scratch, using fresh ingredients. We go heavy on the samples and are not afraid to spice things up in an unconventional way effects-wise, while mixing in traditionally enjoyed flavors like analog synth and 8-bit sounds. Fronted and founded by art-school dropout r*23 (Rani Bakr), DESTROYED FOR COMFORT utilizes both found sound and real-time synthesis to create stompy, noisy, sample-heavy 8-bit hacker-punk that never sounds quite the same way twice, or ever. Disorienting sonic textures and mangled vocals set the tone, complementing surprisingly danceable beats. Performances frequently include backup dancers and projected animation. Interested in meta-meme reprogramming and cheap beer. We'll play in your backyard if you ask us nicely enough. DESTROYED FOR COMFORT has been honored to share the stage with a veritable who's who of independent and experimental electronic music over the past decade, including (but not limited to) acts like Author And Punisher, Bozo Porno Circus, CeVin Key, Cry Blood Apache, The Emotron, Eric Archer, Femme Fatality, I Cactus, Juiceboxxx, Krista Muir, Ludivico Technique, Malekko, Martin Rev, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Otto Von Schirach, Peelander Z, Realicide, The Subliminator, Talmadge D'Amour, and Yip Yip. DESTROYED FOR COMFORT has also performed remix work for Houston Bernard, Suicide God Pill, and Christopher Anton, with more to come soon. DESTROYED FOR COMFORT has devoted several of their performances to benefits for non-profit, activist, and relief services such as the SIMS Foundation, Locks Of Love, The Livestrong Foundation, the Green Party, Anti-Racist Action, and the ACLU, as well as relief efforts for Katrina victims and the citizens of Darfur. We've also performed at benefits for independent music venues and the Texas Rollerderby jeerleader team Bomb Squad. The movement, the progression of thought. An unlimited outlook on the possibility of becoming whole. We communicate the view of the world as it is, what it has been, and what it could be with a true understanding of what it is to be free. Not an illusion of freedom. We are not free, we are all oppressed, oppressed by the history of humanity. Emily's Gone Mad has over time progressed changed and re invented themselves time and time again. We epitomize the idea of forward motion. We are not boasting to be arrogant we merely say this to inspire to an uncompromising principle to evolve to a perfectly chaotic conclusion. Emily's Gone Mad a band with an idea. Change our world express an idea of forward motion. This is who we are. NO genre. NO clique. Just music. A free expression of our hearts our minds, and our views of the world we live in. Nothing in art, music, literature, or life is unique. It is the idea behind the art that is the only thing unique. All chords have been played all things have been painted, everything has been written, we are all repeating what we know. The only way true uniqueness can be found is through exploring all avenues. That's what Emily's Gone MAd does. "We hold to nothing, but our will to explore. We mean what we write we live the life we have been given." Emilys Gone Mads Music is a solid expression of this mentality Emilys Gone Mad wraps their social views into an electric synth rock that has become EGM's signature sound. With over four albums written and two released their sound has evolved into a sound that is unique and distinct. EGM is a hark back to the core root of what Gothic,Industrial, Punk, and Glam was with a love of technology and all that it can achieve in music.
