Ade, Emily, and Liam are back for another episode of The Punch Perfect Podcast, on their relentless mission to build the ultimate boxing machine: the Frankenstein GOAT! To start things off, the trio checks in on the fallout from last week's decisions. With their personal fighting nicknames (The Black Prince, The Hatman, and Miss Eubank) fully established, they recap their first official consensus: crown-funding their monster fighter with the legendary power of George Foreman. The action officially begins when they step into 'The Clinch' to tackle a highly controversial topic delivered straight from producer Jay's envelope: "Governing bodies should refuse licences to fighters over the age of 40!" With a strict three-minute round on the clock, the panel debates the safety, legacy, and commercial appeal of over-40 legends, reflecting on iconic veteran runs from the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Mike Tyson, Bernard Hopkins, and Shannon Briggs. Will the team reach a unanimous decision, or are we headed for a split decision on whether age is just a number in the ring? Then comes 'The Blueprint' to piece together the next crucial element of their Frankenstein GOAT. This week's attribute up for debate is the mental and spiritual core of any true champion: Heart, Resilience, and Warrior Spirit. But what does having a "warrior spirit" actually mean? Then, it's time to dive headfirst into the dark side of the sport, debating whether the consequences for drug cheats in boxing are simply not harsh enough, or whether influencer boxing is ultimately good or bad for the game. It's honest, unfiltered, and deeply passionate boxing talk. Subscribe to The Punch Perfect Podcast on BBC Sounds, leave your thoughts in the comments, and help us build the ultimate fighter!
Send us Fan MailBoxing doesn't change because fans argue online, it changes when the business forces fighters to pick a direction. We start with Devin Haney facing a real crossroads: negotiate the WBO mandatory with Keyshawn Davis, risk a purse bid, or vacate and chase a bigger moment. We talk through what each option signals, why timing matters, and why a “dangerous fight” isn't always the same as a “sellable fight.” Then we get into the matchup boxing fans keep demanding: Haney vs Shakur Stevenson at 144. We break down the style clash, the weight talk, and the core question of how rounds get won when both guys are elite technicians. We also address what Shakur has shown lately on the front foot, why his accuracy changes the scoring optics, and what the Ryan Garcia fight did to the public conversation around Haney's defense and durability. From there, it's the big headline: Shakur Stevenson signing with Zuffa Boxing. We dig into what “what's next” really means, how Saudi funding and platform alignment can make cross-promotional fights easier, and why belts might become optional when the bag is massive. We close with the wild side of the sport: Teofimo Lopez vs Rolly Romero, Tank Davis' next move and star power, Floyd Mayweather headlines, and the Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn twist that puts Zuffa right back in the title picture. “I am the face of boxing.” Boots Ennis Fresh off cementing himself as one of boxing's elite, undefeated world champion Jaron "Boots" Ennis joins The Pivot Podcast for an honest conversation that led him down a road of perfection with a 36-0 record and 32 Knockouts. He may be a quiet guy but once that switch is flipped, Boots goes to another level and is not someone to mess with. From growing up in one of boxing's most respected families to carrying on his family's legacy as a world champion, Boots opens up about the discipline, sacrifices, and mindset required to reach the top. He shares why respect isn't given to in boxing—it's earned every time you step into the ring—and explains why proving himself has always mattered more than chasing popularity. Boots also gives his perspective on the state of boxing today, what separates champions from contenders, and the challenges of building a legacy in a new era of the sport. The Philadelphia superstar reflects on the fighters who inspired his journey, including Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson, and discusses the lessons and skills he took from watching greatness. With confidence, humility, and an unwavering belief in his abilities, Boots reveals what continues to drive him as he pursues undisputed status and boxing immortality. Now at the top of the sport, Boots' target is getting bigger as he responds to recent criticism and call-outs from other fighters, including Terrance Bud Crawford who says would come out of retirement to face him. This is a conversation about legacy, family, respect, and the relentless pursuit of greatness—one you won't want to miss. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
It seems surreal that McGregor is actually just hours away from making the walk to the octagon considering the events of the past five years. McGregor's activity had already fallen off a cliff for various reasons by the time he fought Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021—just McGregor's fifth fight since 2016 (including a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather)—but the broken leg he suffered that loss signaled the start of a seemingly interminable layoff that had no shortage of diversions.Fast forward to the now, and somehow, McGregor has returned. He takes on a familiar face, Max Holloway, who lost to a pre-fame McGregor back in 2013 when the two were budding featherweights with their whole lives ahead of them. Thirteen years later, both fighters have piled up championships, and packed on a few pounds for their rematch at welterweight. Saturday's main event is the second-to-last fight on McGregor's current contract. Win or lose, it's anyone's guess what he decides to do for his UFC swan song, not to mention his plans for unrestricted free agency (though a BKFC fight is all but guaranteed).

Every great fighter brings something different to the ring. Some had lightning-fast hands, others possessed granite chins. Some could make opponents miss by inches, while others broke them down with punishing body shots or ended fights with a single punch. In this episode co-hosts Dana Auguster and Charles Combs are asking a question boxing fans have debated for generations: If you could build the perfect boxer, whose traits would you choose? We're not picking the greatest fighter of all time. We're creating the ultimate fighter by combining the very best attributes from boxing's legends. Muhammad Ali's footwork? Mike Tyson's explosiveness? Marvin Hagler's chin? Floyd Mayweather's defense? Roberto Durán's inside fighting? George Foreman's power? They're all on the table. We'll break down every category—from ring IQ and jab to power, defense, conditioning, heart, body punching, and knockout instinct—to see which legends own each piece of the perfect fighter. And, of course, we're going to have a few and of course debates along the way. Because in boxing, there are very few unanimous decisions. Please dont forget to subscribe to the podcast and if you would like to contact the show, please drop us a line at Historically.Speaking.Sports@gmail.com
