You lack inspiration and creativity, and you secretly feel like you don't fit in at work and could do "more with your life"? You want to lead a more fulfilled life and attract better opportunities, but you lack motivation or energy? Then this is for you. *disclaimer: This is not your typical “romanticizing your life” message as you may know from IG or TikTok. It's time we take this concept to the next level. My POV will awaken what's been lying dormant inside of you—so that you FALL IN LOVE with life and work again. Because that's what romanticizing life is: MAKING it beautiful, LOVING it, FEELING EMPOWERED by HOW you live it! And that means being inspired, creative, and connected to purpose even when you're in a toxic workplace or don't enjoy the task at hand. Let your work be a manifestation of your truest self.

During the pandemic many remote-working employees began slip-sliding away from their organizations' mission, culture, and values. They began losing their emotional connection to their work, their sense of purpose, and other aspects of the employee experience (EX) that are crucial to business success. The three most pressing disconnects that employers now struggle with are: Disconnect No. 1 — Employees demand work-life balance and shared values Disconnect No. 2 — Employees demand flexible hybrid work. Disconnect No. 3 — Employers demand team-based performance in a culture of belonging. Kevin Mulcahy has new perspectives to share on the strategies that responsive, forward-looking organizations are developing to address these pain points as they navigate the uncharted waters of what is being called the Great Reconnection. Kevin is the co- author of the award-winning book, ‘The Future Workplace Experience'. Episode 102: How Gen Z is Shaping the Future WorkplaceGeneration Z, or those born between 1997 and 2012, are having a dramatic impact on the workplace. Currently, they comprise only 13% of the workforce, but by the end of the decade they will account for 30% of the workforce. Gen Z were the first true digital natives, growing up in a world where smartphones and iPads and laptops were never “new.” They were always part of the fabric of their lives from the start. Already Gen Zers are driving significant change in the workplace – from seeking a values-driven employer and a hybrid workplace to expecting to have work-life balance and equality in the workplace for everyone. And they're not hesitant to speak up about it . . . or leave if the work environment doesn't suit them. Dr. Janel Anderson explores all of this and more in this episode.Find show notes at https://janelanderson.com/102
