David Waldman and Greg Dworkin know that talking about a sex scandal is a good way to get our love button tapped, so sidle over here and let's tell you about the latest: Tennessee Republican Mark Green celebrated 30 years of marriage with his girlfriend who was around 2 years old on his first anniversary. Sure, Green is running for reelection, but that won't be his voter's biggest cognitive hurdle. Look at that other Mark, Mark Robinson in North Carolina… Ok, you might want to avert your eyes… Robinson's staff have just noticed that Mark is a creep and have determined that their standards are simply too high to remain in his employ. Donald Trump hasn't yet noticed anything particularly weird about Robinson, Mark seems pretty normal to him. Jack, the “brains” of that “Burke and Hare” of American politics known as Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, has taken over as Robinson's Campaign Manager… Shhh! don't tell the Robinson campaign! And yet… and yet, experts tell us that the election remains undecided and might remain so for weeks! In the meantime, we can look at polls. Kamala Harris continues to trend well in many categories in many polls. There might be a few polls and categories Trump leads a bit in, but why be overly concerned? It's fun to know that he reads his bad polls too. Trends and vibes continue to work in Kamala's direction, and who would expect any surprises this October? It is now time to worry about Republican November surprises in the works. Georgia plans to kill voting, no matter how much money and time it takes. Instead of Georgia, this time Lindsay Graham leads his delegation to Nevada. Maine might not be able to save us this time.
You probably saw the moronic TikTok trend in which check fraud became trendy and was rebranded as a “glitch” that allowed you to get large amounts of money out of any Chase ATM, even if you had little cash in your account. It's federally illegal, it's illegal in every state, and “I saw it on TikTok” isn't a defense. Still, that doesn't necessarily mean every one of these cases will be interesting to prosecutors.Speaking of stupid criminals: Jacob Wohl and his sidekick Jack Burkman are back in the news; Russians are indicted over a scheme to pay right-wing influencers; Trump tries (again) to get his hush money prosecution removed to federal court, but is still unlikely to succeed.Visit serioustrouble.show to find a transcript of this episode and to sign up for our newsletter. You know what's wrong with this world? Not enough shows with David Waldman and Greg Dworkin. This is their first KITM this month! Hey look everybody, they're having an election! Watch where you're stepping, savvy reporters, it's once again time to walk amongst the hoi polloi. Now that we're all paying attention, how about them polls? Kamala Harris is ahead! Wait, she's behind! It's so confusing! Oh no, don't make us ask a Nate! Well, Harris is on the top end of most polls, which is a good place to be, no matter how you look at it. Women are finally dropping Trump, as abortion rights finally becomes the last straw. Fun misogynist Donald Trump and his weird ward JD Vance hate talking about yucky women stuff, but that is just the topic Democrats want to discuss. The corporate press still wants to talk about Donald Trump. Kamala does not, and that's driving the press and the Gops out of their minds. Harris is outspending Trump in swing states, but if Donald ever thinks of anything that might work in an ad, he'll be ready. RFK Jr. finds that it's hard to run for vice president when he's still running for president. One of the great things about the advent of the internet is that porn shop clerks no longer have to talk to lunatics like Mark Robinson every single day. The Girl Scouts still have to watch Mark's greasy hands around their cookies, however. Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman are amazingly not in prison. But if you ask their coworkers or their employers, they've never heard of them.

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.serioustrouble.showDonald Trump's criminal trial in New York has begun, with jury selection underway. Ken and I discuss Trump's last-ditch efforts to get this trial delayed, and public support he has gotten from a surprising advocate: imprisoned ex-attorney Michael Avenatti, who phoned into MSNBC from his oceanfront Los Angeles home to say he thinks the case is seriously flawed. Meanwhile, in Florida, Judge Aileen Cannon did something we said she might: She declined to make any decisions about those jury instructions she asked attorneys a bunch of weird questions about. Smith is in a bind. We discuss why.Plus: Incompetent ratfucker Jacob Wohl and his sidekick Jack Burkman are in trouble again. And actress Gina Carano (from Disney's "The Mandalorian") is a character on Serious Trouble for the first time this week.
Sleepy Don dozed off during day one of his criminal trial, during countless silly motions from his lawyers and the start of jury selection. Trump's poll numbers are dropping like Matt Gaetz's pants at a girl scout jamboree. SCOTUS kicked Mike Lindell in the pillows by declining his appeal in the case where he was ticked that the FBI interrupted his Hardee's drive thru experience. Former comedian Rob Schneider was too gross for even a GOP crowd. Tesla shares are dropping like Trump's poll numbers. The conservative Idaho Supreme Court hates trans kids. Republican fraudsters Jacob Woll and Jack Burkman got fined $1.25 million for running a scam to suppress black people's votes. More Republicans are outwardly stating they're not so into this democracy thing. And more!

A little less than a month after hearing oral arguments, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals has rejected Donald Trump's argument that he is immune from being prosecuted for acts within the “outer perimeter” of his presidential duties. That should clear the way for Judge Tanya Chutkan to again move toward the start of a criminal trial, unless the Supreme Court decides it wants to consider the case. Ken and Josh talk about the judges' reasoning, reasons the Supreme Court might decide to sit this one out, and when Chutkan could realistically proceed toward trial under various scenarios.Plus: Fani Willis' responds to a Georgia RICO defendant regarding her personal relationship with the special prosecutor she hired to oversee the case, Taylor Swift's lawyers send a nastygram to a college student tracking her private plane, Jack Burkman's giving up his law license, and it turns out that the Senate employee who filmed a sex tape in the Hart Building had the good sense to exercise his Fifth Amendment right not to talk to Capitol Police, which means he has better judgment than about half the people we talk about on this show.Visit serioustrouble.show to sign up for our newsletter and to find transcripts of our episodes. No half measures, just poetry in today's KITM! Actually, David Waldman presented many half measures today, at least double the amount one would ever require to generate superlative 4 .5-hour segments of KITM. Just outside of the towering KITM World Headquarters, downy soft Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin attempted to duck a trans student's questioning. Unfortunately for Glenn, those pesky media he hates were paying attention. Ace KITM correspondent Rosalyn MacGregor reports from her state that not all has yet been fixed by Michigan's flip to blue. In East Lansing, the deputy police chief, Director of Planning, and City Manager are bugging out. My state, Ohio, home of the most corrupt state government since Caligula, made a first tiny step towards salvation by convicting the House Speaker and Republican Party Chair of passing around 60 million dollars in bribe money that must just have fallen off the FirstEnergy Corp truck. Tennessee leads the nation in anti-LGBTQ hate, so of course their closets are becoming overstuffed, and their anti-LGBTQ politicians are popping out. Now that Tucker Carlson has been exposed as a closeted Never Trumper, will he still be accepted back among the MAGA? Sure, they are a pretty inclusive and forgiving bunch. Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman's robocalls targeting Black voters violated the Voting Rights Act and Ku Klux Klan Act, and the judge didn't even require a jury to decide that verdict. Jenna Ellis still has her sense of humor, which is a clear condemnation of our justice system. Oh, and George Santos lies. This time Santos is denying being the mastermind of an ATM credit card skimming operation.

The two men responsible were sentenced last month. One of their penalties? Spend 500 hours registering people to vote. The two men, Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, plead guilty to telecommunications fraud for orchestrating 85,000 robo calls to primarily African American mobile phone users in Ohio, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Illinois. The message told those who answered that if they voted, their personal information would go into a database accessible to the police, debt collectors and the Centers for Disease Control, a tactic designed to suppress voter turnout.NPR reports that In the first of a number of legal actions, a Cuyahoga County judge sentenced them to probation with a GPS ankle bracelet, $2,500 each in fines, and 500 hours of registering voters in Washington, D.C.They also face lawsuits from a civil rights group, the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and the State of New York, plus felony charges in Michigan. This week, we take a detour to talk about a figure that should have been featured on this show long before now, convicted criminal and grifter extraordinaire, Jacob Wohl and his partner in crime Jack Burkman. Between the two of them they've racked up numerous fake sexual assault press conferences, several felony indictments, and at the time of writing, one conviction. Jacob Wohl made his name early on as a fake child prodigy and 17 year-old hedge fund manager until he was banned from futures trading for life. He would go on to, along with Burkman, be the preeminent propagator of fake sexual assault claims against democratic candidates throughout the 2020 election cycle. Jacob is truly one of the great clowns of our time and his continued flame-outs are a source of never-ending entertainment for we blessed few in the know. What happens when you're facing federal charges connected to the Jan. 6 insurrection and your lawyer….goes missing? And their associate, who has been showing up in court, is not a licensed attorney and is facing felony indictments? Yikes. That's the case for clients of John Pierce, one of the more ideological advocates. What happens when an attorney is incapacitated and unable to represent his or her clients? And what could happen to those clients? Then: the January 6 select committee is starting to make requests for information, some of which are going to telecommunications companies. At this point, these are requests, not subpoenas. House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy is telling communications companies not to comply with those requests, saying they are unlawful and if the companies comply, “a Republican majority will not forget.” Ken says this is approaching the line of obstruction of justice by in effect threatening future legislation against those who cooperate with a congressional committee. Another thing Ken says isn't a good idea: doing anything that will inspire a federal judge to write a 100-page ruling that's not in your favor. In this case, it's sanctions for Sidney Powell and Lin Wood from federal judge Linda Parker. Plus: a possibility $5 million fine for Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, another civil suit for former President Trump and more.

Joy Reid leads this episode of The ReidOut with what could be the way out of the pandemic. As our nation's healthcare system is wobbling under a continued assault by the delta variant, what has been a vaccine push is now becoming a vaccine must, with more and more vaccine requirements taking effect. Then, the House Jan. 6 select committee is demanding materials about the Trump administration's possible involvement in the Capitol insurrection. Chairman Bennie Thompson has set a two-week deadline for those materials to be turned over before he resorts to subpoenas. Joy and her expert legal guests bring their analysis. And, with six days to go before the August 31st deadline to leave Afghanistan, the State Department gave its first full report on the number of Americans who have been safely evacuated. We break down how what has been a largely successful evacuation has been misrepresented and politicized. Bishop William Barber joins with the latest on the voting rights battle. Finally, in Wednesday's "Absolute Worst" Joy critiques Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, conservative operatives behind illegal robocalls that made false claims about mail voting targeting Black voters in Detroit and multiple states ahead of the 2020 election. All this and more in this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
House Democrats passed a budget resolution to trigger the reconciliation bill process on Tuesday. Congressmen Seth Moulton (D- MA) and Peter Meijer (R- MI) secretly traveled to Kabul to observe the evacuation efforts. As the evacuation efforts in Afghanistan get more and more difficult, people like Erik Prince are offering private escape services on nearly empty flights for thousands of dollars. The FCC proposed fining conservative conspiracists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman $5.1 million for voter suppression robocalls. The American Medical Association has called for Covid-19 vaccine mandates. This week on Look Forward, the guys return to discuss three major stories. They dig into their thoughts on the first presidential debate between Trump and Biden, show favorites Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman get busted by Michigan for nationwide voter suppression scam, and of course, the guys dig into the situation happening with Trump's health after contracting COVID-19.
Trump tested positive for COVID-19 and it is what it is. RWNJ loada-saurus Brenden Dilley blathered Shitler had "god tier" DNA. Freshman Infowarrior Deanna Lorraine claimed the left gave Man-baby coronavirus via a device hidden in his debate microphone. Hate-caster Chris McDonald ignorantly muttered Democrats probably infected Trump with coronavirus. A reporter from MSNBC tongue-lashed Trumpkin Steve Cortes over their smear-job on Biden's nonexistent earpiece. Republican operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman were charged with felonies in a massive voter suppression scheme. We learned about Kimberly Guilfoyle's harassment of an assistant where she allegedly ordered the subordinate massage her thighs among other acts.

Centuries from now, historians and scholars around the world will look back on this precise point in history and say, “Christ, what an asshole.” Unfortunately, we live in the present. Fortunately, we can share this moment with this David Waldman and Greg Dworkin. This week, some journalists will attempt to both-sides, and pundits will attempt to grade on a curve, but the reality is Trump was losing going into the debate, and losing worse coming out of it, and the people that matter understand this. But, how much do “undecided” voters matter? Forced by facts further into denial, shy Trump voters become shier. Racists, on the other hand, locked, loaded… and are standing by. After all that, there’s still a pandemic going on. Virginia’s Ralph and Pamela Northam already lost the debate. Missouri Governor Mike Parson and his wife, Teresa did too, but but had hoped to sneak behind the virus’ back over to their annual fall festival. The Department of Health and Human Services will spend more than $300 million to Bagdad Bob us out of COVID-19 — Starring Dennis Quaid! Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman are up to their old hijinx — witness harassment, criminal contempt, and obstruction of justice. Will the FBI ever catch them boys? Meanwhile, nonpartisan campaign finance watchdog group notes that wife-beating Brad Parscale helped the Trump campaign launder $170 million dollars, keeping, say, "x" dollars to himself. Brad also picked up some $40 million from reelection committees, and might not have put much down. A grand juror says the Kentucky Attorney General should disclose Breonna Taylor’s grand jury records. We have already discussed the sororal commitment and heritage of Alpha Kappa Alpha, David now tells about the fraternal ties of Alpha Phi Alpha.

RadioPublic|LibSyn|YouTube|Patreon|Square Cash (Share code: Send $5, get $5!) If David Waldman and Greg Dworkin didn’t tell you it this morning, you didn’t need to hear it: First, Joe Biden is still leading. Always good to keep that in mind during these chaotic times. There’s Florida, Florida, Florida, but Joe’s still got this, probably. Have you herd? Several decades late, and Donald Trump is worrying what waitstaff might be adding to his food. Donald showed what he was made of, two weeks before the debate, in a town hall meeting on ABC. No one said there would be questions! Joe Biden will do a town hall tomorrow, in case anyone needs to compare and contrast. Trump has already lost the debate on handling the pandemic, in the past or in the future. It’s not the vaccine that’s scary, it’s that the pusher lies and doesn’t care what happens to us. He’s lost the economy, although he doesn’t know that yet. That leaves foreign policy. There is peace between Israel and Canada now… and Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, so what more do you want? Of course, if they come to the table wearing face masks the whole deal’s off. And Footballs back, so that fixes everything. Jason Miller might need to go somewhere else for his child support payments. Miller makes $20,000 a month doing something with Steve Bannon, and another $35,000 a month doing this and that, here and there. Save up. Making license plates will pay less. It turns out that Steven KG Bannon produces bogus anti-China Covid studies. Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman shouldn’t even be eligible for parole, and yet here they are, out there impersonating the FBI, running troll farms, etc. Michael Caputo accused scientists of sedition, called for civil war, apologized to his staff, and will go rest now. Anyone want to help Mike Pompeo’s wife fill out Christmas cards? She might need more volunteers this year.
Today, a chilling whistleblower report emerges from an ICE detention center in Georgia, the DOJ IG is investigating whether Barr pressured prosecutors to go easy on Roger Stone, the Health and Human Services communications director and Kremlin agent Mike Caputo calls COVID science a deep state coup and then completely loses his mind, Pompeo brings back Madison dinners as we learn they wined and dined Justice Alito, video catches the Los Angeles Sheriffs in a lie about events outside the hospital where the ambushed officers were recovering, Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman stage a phony FBI raid at Burkman’s home, Jason Galinas is named as the developer behind QAnon’s Qmap, Sima Ladjevardian (@SimaforTX) joins us to Flip it Blue, plus some good news. Welcome to Majority.FM's AM QUICKIE! Brought to you by justcoffee.coop TODAY'S HEADLINES: An explosive internal memo obtained by Buzzfeed News shows the massive, destructive influence Facebook has had over politics and violent conflict in dozens of countries. Meanwhile, Donald Trump and Joe Biden trade barbs over the climate catastrophe, while the president Tweets that he wants to do a four-hour debate with his challenger on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Yep, it’s going to be a stupid kind of day, folks. And lastly, on that note, the stupidest man alive has struck again. A Daily Beast report shows that mega-moron provocateur Jacob Wohl hired an actor to play an FBI agent and pretend to raid his frequent co-conspirator Jack Burkman’s office. THESE ARE THE STORIES YOU NEED TO KNOW: Buzzfeed Catches Huge Facebook Scoop “I know that I have blood on my hands by now.” That’s what Facebook data scientist Sophie Zhang wrote in her last-ever post on Facebook’s internal messageboard before she was fired. Zhang’s post was leaked to BuzzFeed news. The information it revealed is both horrifying and in the public interest. The main gist of the post deals with what Facebook calls “inauthentic activity” around politics and elections. Zhang wrote that her team detected widespread disinformation campaigns and fake account networks at work for various political causes in Honduras, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Bolivia, Ecuador, India, Spain, the United States and others. These cases influenced everything from elections to bloody revolutions and governmental responses to the coronavirus pandemic. Some of them Facebook took action on, some of them they did not, because Zhang said her team was often forced to de-prioritize certain cases due to their own workload. Basically, the people in charge of making sure Facebook doesn’t ruin elections are overworked, and things are slipping through the cracks. Zhang wrote that Facebook leadership often didn’t care much about the democratic process in smaller companies, and only acted when she repeatedly raised the issue internally. All of this led to her leaving the company, and allegedly turning down a $64,000 severance package so that she wouldn’t have to sign a non-disparagment agreement, and could criticize the company publicly. Still, she specifically wrote that she didn’t want it to go public in the event that it undermined Facebook’s attempts to keep the 2020 election safe. But it’s pretty clear that the public deserves to know, largely because Facebook hasn’t been transparent at all about the stuff that it does catch. Biden, Trump... and Joe Rogan? The Trump and Biden campaigns continued their spat over the future of America in the dumbest possible way today: with verbal barbs and promises to go on the Joe Rogan podcast. That’s right everyone we’ve got an update from the dumbest timeline today. Here’s the scene. Trump once again has said quote “I don’t think science knows” endquote, in relation to the causes of the massive wildfires sweeping the west coast. This is stupid, because science does know: it’s decades of negligent policy that has enabled corporate interests to create a rapidly warming, drastically flammable ecosystem that bursts into flame at every possible opportunity. In response, Biden called Trump a quote “climate arsonist,” which means. Well. I’m not completely sure what it means. That Trump is responsible for climate change? Yes, true. That Trump is actively trying to enable the forces who have changed the climate? Also true. Ok, we figured out what it means. You’d almost be forgiven after all that for forgetting that Biden himself has been dragging his feet on climate change for years. Since winning the primary, he’s released a slightly more promising climate plan, but still has obstinately refused to outright denounce harmful practices like fracking. Anyway, all of this culminated in one of the dumbest toplines of the day. Podcaster extraordianer and or sentient stack of hardboiled eggs Joe Rogan offered to moderate a four-hour debate between Trump and Biden. Even better, Trump said he’d be in on Twitter. That means we could have a situation where the Biden campaign, who went after Bernie Sanders for agreeing to go on Rogan’s sometimes incoherent, occasionally bigoted podcast, agrees to do the exact thing to debate the always incoherent, always racist president. Personally I can think of much better podcasts to host a presidential debate. Worlds Stupidest Man At it Again In slightly lighter, somehow even dumber news, we have a new report on the activities of the stupidest grifters alive. We’re talking about Jacob Wohl, of course. Wohl, the famous boy-wonder behind such schemes as “Elizabeth Warren slept with a buff Marine” and “Robert Mueller did sexual assault while also appearing in court in a different state, defying the laws of space and time” is back with another scheme. This time, he staged a fake FBI raid on his scam-partner Jack Burkman’s apartment. The Daily Beast spoke to an actor who says he responded to a Craigslist ad and was paid $400 to wear an FBI windbreaker or shirt and act out a series of scenes inside Burkman’s apartment. Pictures and videos were then sent by a Twitter account under the name of Bev Donahue to various reporters. Donahue is suspected to be an alias for Wohl, who has used fake accounts on basically every social media service thus far. The most embarrassing part is that the Washington Post fell for it, reporting on the raid as if it was real. According to the Beast, Burkman was insinuating that high-level government officials were retaliating against him for his efforts to root out corruption in Washington. Right. The actions of Wohl and Burkman are usually so stupid that they’re harmless, and this case is no exception. But they’re noteworthy if only for the reason that it’s often incredibly hard to distinguish dangerous conspiracy theories from utterly farcical ones, which means that dreck like this often filters into real life politics through major movements like Qanon. One of Wohl’s frequent associates, Laura Loomer, recently won the GOP primary for a Florida cong AND NOW FOR SOME QUICKER QUICKIES: One more dispatch for WTF-World. Akon, the famous R&B singer, announced today that he is backing a $6 billion smart city in Senegal, called Akon City. Residents inside will use a cryptocurrency called Akoin. You could not make this up, unless you were Akon or his shadowy investor, who may very well be making this up. In slightly darker news, September 14 marked the 19th birthday of the War on Terror. Peace talks between the Taliban and Afghani government are currently underway in Qatar, proving that we’ve accomplished almost nothing but an enormous amount of pain. Astronomers announced something weird on Monday: they’d found potential signs of life on Venus, not Mars. Contrary to the dated cliche about gender binaries, the researchers did not find women hanging out on the inhospitable planet. Instead, they found traces of a gas called phosphine that indicates microbes may be present. Never thought much of that cliche anyway. And finally, a federal judge in Pennsylvania ruled that Governor Tom Wolfe’s coronavirus lockdown orders were unconstitutional, saying that quote “even in an emergency, the authority of government is not unfettered.” endquote It’s not too likely that this will have national implications, as the Supreme Court has upheld California restrictions on religious gatherings and many other courts have upheld similar rulings. That’s all for the Majority Report’s AM Quickie today! Stay tuned for the full show later with Sam. Sept 15, 2020 - AM Quickie HOSTS - Sam Seder & Lucie Steiner WRITER - Jack Crosbie PRODUCER - Dorsey Shaw EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - Brendan Finn
In Nevada, Trump's low-masked indoor rally broke the state mandates against large indoor gatherings. The first week of NFL games displayed various forms of racial equality protest. A couple of pro-COVID Kentucky Republicans filed a bill to outlaw any mandatory coronavirus vaccine. Michael Cohen's daughter said Trump creeped on her when she was 15. A new whistleblower complaint alleges an ICE detention facility is giving female detainees hysterectomies at an alarming rate. A nasty old racist woman called the cops on a Black census worker for standing while Black. Professional GOP loons Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman staged a fake FBI raid on Burkman's house, and then stiffed the hired actors. Florida's Andrew Gillum said he identifies as bisexual. In Indonesia, people convicted of breaking the country's mask mandate are being forced to help dig graves for COVID-19 victims.
Why aren't Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman behind bars? Why did Bill "Pepe the Frog" Barr put the kibosh on the prosecution of Michael Flynn? Will the trial court judge sit still for it? Why can't Americans get COVID-19 tests just like the MAGATS in the White House do? Who's the "valet" for Trump who's tested positive for the 'Rona? These questions and more . . .
