Recorded live at the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival 2023 With three outstanding crime series, two much-loved television dramas, thirty-six novels translated into over twenty languages, and a legion of fans both in the UK and around the world, Ann Cleeves has enjoyed an almost unrivalled career. As the creator of both Vera Stanhope and Jimmy Perez, the protagonists of Vera and Shetland, she has brought joy to millions. Ann's novel The Long Call, the first in her Two Rivers series, was also successfully adapted for TV. Ann's new novel, The Raging Storm, is the third in the Devon-set series and sees DI Matthew Venn face up to ghosts from his past after the body of a celebrity adventurer is found in a dinghy anchored off a local cove. Ann is interviewed by award-winning crime writer and Festival Programming Chair 2023 Vaseem Khan. Podcast music by Joseph McDade.
Januar 2020 beziehungsweise 2021 in Kraft traten.

Professor Mona Siddiqui joined the University of Edinburgh's Divinity school in December 2011 as the first Muslim to hold a Chair in Islamic and Interreligious Studies Dr Thomas Linley hosts The Deep-Sea podcast and researches the behaviour of deep sea fish. We record this on the first day of snow of the year! The big news of the day is that That Woman Next Door is now available on Audible! And Then She Kissed Me is at the editor's and with some beta-readers, one of whom already finished it. Harper is ready to start writing her next book, but she has to write a short story first. We have some translation news, both in Portuguese and French. If you're looking for a Christmas themed read, why not try Life in Bits, which Harper co-wrote with T.B. Markinson. We've been glued to BritBox the past week, watching our favourite female detective Vera, as well as the other Ann Cleeves inspired series The Long Call. And of course we have something to say about Strictly and more specifically, about head judge Shirley. Caroline's book this week is, unusually, lesbian fiction: The Split by Laura Kay. This week's show sees us disappear down the rabbit hole of the BBC's recently published list of the 100 greatest TV shows of the 21st century, poring over both their rundown (which all three of us contributed to) and each of our individual lists, which the Beeb was good enough to publicly name and shame us with. Not only that, though, but we're banging on about Squid Game *yet again*, in this instance taking the show's English dub to task and asking some key questions about its rather baffling age rating. All of that is just the amuse bouche for the main course, however, which sees us experience Apple TV+'s Invasion, ITV's Devon-set murder mystery The Long Call, and Stephen Merchant's new comedy The Outlaws on BBC1.

Ben Aldridge, joins us on the show this week (41:52-1:00:00) to talk about having one of the most excellent IMDb credits as Fleabag's 'Arsehole Guy', as well as his new ITV series, The Long Call. We then struggle through the rest of the podcast recording with James in a rather fragile state, as we get down with the Roys in season 3 of Succession on Sky, re-litigate Bill Clinton's extra-marital rumblings along with Ryan Murphy in Impeachment: American Crime Story on BBC2, and try to work out what the hell is going on in the second series of Locke & Key on Netflix. Plus you get to find out what 'Pika-Blinders' is (sort of), hear our pitches for TV show spin-offs, get a blow-by-blow account of the random, Ryan Murphy-inspired hotel James was forced to crash in last night, and learn all about Beth's interpretative Succession dance (TikTok to follow, we very much hope).
As our Core Strategies Series presses on, we continue examining the Covered Call. In this segment, we turn to the Poor Man's Covered Call, which is a synthetic version of a standard Covered Call. Both strategies start with an OTM Short Call as the premium generator, but while a standard Covered Call uses long shares for the bullish exposure, a Poor Man's Covered Call uses a Long Call for the bullish exposure. Kai from the Research Team joins us to work through how the two strategies compare to each other.

There's no doubt that 401K holders are sitting pretty, watching their retirement grow every day, until it stops, which it will eventually, then we'll see and hear the big SUCK! Volatility is on a rollercoaster ride to hell, and by hell I mean super low, anemic, lifeless volatility, except for the occasional market report that perks up Wall Street wondering if the Federal Reserve Hopium will continue to be injected into their trading accounts. This makes for a challenging environment for the 0DTE trader, who wants to sell premium, when premium is so fleeting. But worry not, we are slaying the market with outrageous triple digit returns, listen in to find out how we do it. The image below shows where trades were entered. The first was a Long Call spread or vertical, then we sold that to finance the Long Butterfly with short strikes centered at 4400, a good 22 points higher. ------------ 0 DTE Trial https://0-dte.com/try Subscribe to the 0-DTE Podcast https://zerodaystoexpiration.com Join Our Discord Server https://asymmetricadvisor.com/discord
With SPY right at around 424 today, we have a perfect example that illustrates the power of big, wide Butterflies. In our portfolio, we have on a 425/433/441 Butterfly, so our lower-striked Long Call is almost in-the-money. This effectively means that any rally in the stock is going to produce a nice profit in our position from our Long Call picking up intrinsic value, and it also means we don't have to be concerned about the stock rallying too much. If it did that, then our Long Call Spread would be fully in-the-money, and our position would still be profitable.

The Hake Report, Monday, June 14, 2021: Crime going up! SC man robbed and shot in front of his pregnant wife and her children by "teens" pretending to sell him a 4-wheeler via Facebook Marketplace! Biden and other phony "leaders" make fools of themselves at G-7 summit, pretending to fight China, kissing up to South African president, and bumping elbows at the beach. GREAT CALLS (and some bad ones) — see below. Also check out Hake News from today. CALLERS Josh from Wisconsin asks if we should remove Biden and Fauci; he had to lie to his grandma to get out of the house to go see his father whom he hadn't seen in 13 years! Snow from Bay Area, CA tries to deny mass shooting statistics, and black-on-black crime! He also thinks I shouldn't talk about abortion because I'm not a woman! LONG CALL. Tyland from Atlanta, GA (Nick spelled it "Thailand") calls Hake "bland," then gets really vulgar in exposing how much he despises normal decent white people. Kraig from Illinois wanted to confront Snow, but Snow ducked him! He talks about Chicago's growing crime problem. Art from Ohio puts Tyland to shame, and talks about the PPP loans and unemployment fraud sucking money out of America!
