A Prefeitura de São Ludgero anunciou que o atendimento ao público está sendo realizado em um novo endereço devido ao início das obras de reforma do Paço Municipal. O prédio passará por uma ampla reestruturação, com investimento estimado em R$ 4,5 milhões e previsão de duração de 18 meses. Enquanto os trabalhos são executados, o atendimento da administração municipal ocorre na Rodovia SC-108, saída para Orleans, em frente ao Posto Dona Ana. O horário de funcionamento permanece o mesmo, garantindo a continuidade dos serviços públicos sem interrupções para a comunidade. Em entrevista ao Cruz de Malta Notícias nesta quarta-feira (5), o prefeito Paulo Sérgio Lorenzetti, o Paulinho, destacou que a mudança é temporária e necessária para viabilizar as melhorias planejadas no prédio da Prefeitura. “O objetivo é modernizar e melhorar as condições de trabalho dos servidores e de atendimento à população. Durante esse período, todos os serviços continuarão sendo prestados normalmente no novo endereço”, afirmou o prefeito.

O ex-prefeito de Orleans, Jorge Koch (MDB), segue intensificando sua agenda política pelo Sul de Santa Catarina em preparação para as eleições de 2026, quando pretende disputar uma vaga na Assembleia Legislativa do Estado. Nesta quarta-feira (5), Koch cumpre agenda no município de Lauro Müller, e participou de entrevista ao vivo nos estúdios da Rádio Cruz de Malta. Durante a conversa, ele comentou o andamento da pré-candidatura, as motivações que o levaram a colocar seu nome à disposição. Com forte atuação na região, Jorge Koch tem mantido diálogo constante com lideranças políticas, comunitárias e empresariais, buscando construir uma base sólida para o projeto que pretende levar à Assembleia Legislativa em defesa dos interesses do Sul catarinense.

O lançamento institucional reuniu representantes das prefeituras, entidades de turismo e parceiros internacionais, consolidando um passo importante para o fortalecimento do setor turístico na região serrana e sul catarinense. A rota engloba alguns dos mais belos atrativos naturais e culturais do estado, como o Parque Nacional de São Joaquim, o Parque Estadual da Serra Furada e o Ecomuseu Serra do Rio do Rastro, valorizando a biodiversidade, as tradições locais e o potencial econômico ligado ao turismo de experiência. A iniciativa é fomentada por meio da Rede DEL Turismo, uma parceria entre o IDEL, FACISC, BBW, Engagement Global e o Distrito de Regen, na Alemanha, com apoio do Ministério Federal da Cooperação Econômica e Desenvolvimento da Alemanha (BMZ). A colaboração internacional reforça o compromisso com o desenvolvimento sustentável e o intercâmbio de boas práticas. O Centro Universitário Barriga Verde (Unibave), por meio do Museu ao Ar Livre Princesa Isabel, em Orleans, está discutindo uma proposta de cooperação técnica com a Empresa de Pesquisa Agropecuária e Extensão Rural de Santa Catarina (Epagri). A sugestão prevê a integração entre o Museu, o Unibave e a Epagri em atividades de pesquisa, extensão, capacitação e preservação do patrimônio cultural e natural. A expectativa, segundo a diretora do Museu ao Ar Livre, Valdirene Böger Dorigon, é de que, nos próximos meses, seja elaborado um termo formal de parceria para oficializar as ações conjuntas. Na semana passada, técnicos representantes da Epagri e da Associação do Jardim Botânico de Florianópolis estiveram conhecendo o funcionamento do Museu. A visita foi um momento importante para aproximar as instituições e fortalecer ações voltadas à valorização do patrimônio cultural e ambiental. A parceria com o Unibave e a Epagri pode contribuir para desenvolver projetos de extensão, educação ambiental e valorização do conhecimento tradicional. Nu waren er in Frankrijk vrouwen zat waar men wel vanaf wilde: weeskinderen, armen, en vrouwen die om een of andere reden als onhandelbaar werden gezien. Die werden van straat geplukt en vaak tegen hun wil met een boot naar New Orleans gestuurd. Toen ze na een reis van vijf maanden aankwamen in New Orleans waren ze lijkbleek, hun monden besmeurd met bloed en ze droegen allemaal kleine kistjes, die leken op lijkkisten. Deze dames worden allemaal zo snel mogelijk, alweer meestal tegen hun wil, aan lokale mannen. Hun bezittingen moeten ze achterlaten in een klooster. Al snel gaat het sterfcijfer in new Orleans omhoog en het gerucht ontstaat dat in die kistjes vampieren zaten die nu de bevolking van New Orleans aan het uitmoorden zijn. Pela primeira vez em sua história, o município de Orleans está sendo administrado por uma mulher. Na última sexta-feira (17), o prefeito Fernando Cruzetta (PP) transmitiu oficialmente o cargo à vice-prefeita Leonete Librelato (PSD), que ficará à frente do Executivo municipal por um período de 15 dias. Leonete, que se torna assim a primeira vice-prefeita a assumir o cargo de prefeita de Orleans, descreveu o momento como histórico e profundamente simbólico. Em entrevista ao Cruz de Malta Notícias nesta segunda-feira (20), ela falou sobre a responsabilidade e a emoção de ocupar o cargo, mesmo que temporariamente. “É um momento muito especial, de grande significado para mim. Apesar de ser um período curto, quero aproveitar cada dia para contribuir e deixar minha marca, seguindo o exemplo de dedicação e compromisso que sempre vi no Lali”, destacou Leonete, em referência ao ex-prefeito Lali Librelato, seu falecido esposo, lembrado com carinho pela população orleanense. A posse interina de Leonete Librelato representa um marco na política local, simbolizando o avanço da representatividade feminina no poder público e o reconhecimento do papel das mulheres na administração municipal. Durante os 15 dias em que permanecerá no cargo, a prefeita interina pretende dar continuidade às ações da gestão e reforçar pautas voltadas ao desenvolvimento social e comunitário.

But that, turns out, isn't Gilles' only claim to fame. In the years following, he was responsible for kidnapping and then brutally assaulting, torturing, and murdering upwards of 140 children, making Gilles the first recorded and possibly most horrifying serial killer of all time. OCTUBRE, MES DE LA REFORMA Un héroe poco recordado: Santiago Lefevre de Etaples (Jacques Lefèvre d'Étaples) Santiago Lefèvre fue un varón de Dios que vivió entre los años 1455 y 1536. Se le ha llamado el Padre de la Reforma, pues enseñó las doctrinas básicas del protestantismo cuando Lutero todavía no empezaba su movimiento y Zwinglio aún no escudriñaba la Biblia. Fue un erudito que enseñaba en la universidad de la Sorbona, muy considerado por Erasmo de Rotterdam. Estudiando llegó a descubrir la doctrina de la justificación por la fe. Llegó a trastornar toda la universidad de la Sorbona con el gran tema bíblico que él enseñaba en sus distinguidas aulas. Debido a la persecución fue protegido por el obispo Briçonnet de la ciudad de Meaux, el cual era amigo de la Reforma. En Meaux, se predicaba en forma totalmente libre el Evangelio. Se formaban asambleas en casas y, en muchas iglesias, también se predicaba la Biblia. El 30 de octubre de 1522, Lefèvre publicaba los cuatro evangelios en lenguaje popular y, al mes siguiente, los otros libros del Nuevo Testamento. Encontró gran oposición entre los franciscanos y luego fue traicionado por el mismo Briçonnet, quien no tuvo la entereza de soportar las presiones que se ejercieron sobre él. High Turnout Wide Margins recently traveled to the 40th annual Election Center conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, and spoke with election administrations and officials from across the county about how they do the work of elections in their communities. In this episode, hosts Eric Fey and Brianna Lennon speak with Lisa Marie Manning Bridges, the Registrar of Voters in the Parish of Orleans in Louisiana. They spoke about the unique nature of Louisiana elections, how the work is divvied up by different parish offices and how the parish works alongside the Louisiana Secretary of State to serve their voters.

La conocida empresa china de moda rápida abrirá su primera tienda en el centro de París a principios de noviembre, y luego planea establecer cinco puntos de venta más en diversas ciudades francesas, dentro de las reconocidas Galerías Lafayette. Hasta ahora, Shein se había limitado a tiendas efímeras (pop-ups), más orientadas a fortalecer su presencia de marca que a consolidar una red física. Este giro estratégico en Europa ha generado una fuerte polémica en distintos sectores del país. La alcaldesa de París, Anne Hidalgo, expresó su desacuerdo en LinkedIn, alegando que este movimiento va en contra del modelo de "comercio local y sostenible" que promueve la ciudad. También se pronunció la Fédération Française du Prêt-à-Porter, una asociación de minoristas de moda, señalando que esta expansión amenaza con "inundar el mercado con productos de consumo rápido y desechables". Estas críticas se suman al debate sobre cómo el comercio electrónico y el cambio de hábitos de los consumidores están alterando el panorama urbano en Francia. We’re more likely to survive a shark bite simply because sharks don’t like the way we taste. They spit us out if they accidentally mistake us for a seal. Marcia Peck is an award-winning writer and accomplished musician, celebrating over 50 years as a cellist with the Minnesota Orchestra.  Inspired by the rhythms and sounds of music echoed in language, her debut novel, Water Music: A Cape Cod Story, combines all of her passions –music, writing, and Cape Cod. The book has received critical acclaim and has received many book awards, including Literary Titan Gold, National Indie Excellence Award, New England Book Festival Regional Lit Winner, and Feathered Quill Reviewers Choice Award Winner. Additionally, she was a finalist for American Writing Awards, Eric Hoffer Award Grand Prize, Firebird Book Awards, and Wishing Shelf Book Awards. Pacifica book Awards designated it as a “Notable Book” and her book was long-listed by both Historical Fiction Company Book-of-the-Year Award and Somerset Book Awards.  Peck's writing has received awards from New Millenium Writings (First prize for "Memento Mori"), Tamarack Awards (honorable mention for "An Unexpected Cadence"), Lake Superior Writers' Conference (First Prize for "Pride and Humility"), Glimmer Train(finalist for Very Short Fiction Award for "The Flavor of Borscht"),Flash quake (nomination for Pushcart Prize for "Long Distance"), and MnArtists Mini Stories (Winner for "Little Vladimir's Father").  She is the grateful recipient of Artist Fellowships from the Minnesota State Arts Board, Loft-McKnight, and the Jerome Foundation as well as residencies at Hambidge Center in Georgia and Ragdale in Illinois. A cellist with the Minnesota Orchestra for her entire musical career, she is inspired by the rhythms and sounds of music echoed in language. Peck graduated from the legendary Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She studied with famed Italian cellist Antonio Janigro in Germany for two years. Her articles have appeared in Musical America, Strad Magazine, Strings Magazine, Senza Sordino, the magazine of the Minnesota Orchestra and the op-ed pages of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Her fiction has appeared in Chautauqua Journal, New Millenium Writings, Gemini Magazine, Glimmer Train, 26 Minnesota Writers (Nodine Press), Tribute to Orpheus 2(Kearney Books), and three volumes of Open to Interpretation: Fading Light(Taylor and O'Neill). Her work has been supported by the Minnesota State Arts Board, The Loft Literary Center, and the Jerome Foundation, Ragdale Foundation and Hambidge Center. Peck grew up in New Jersey and summered in Cape Cod. Her love for Cape Cod has been a strong and deep current throughout her life. She and her sisters still return to the house their father built in Orleans.
