For the last few years, Revolution Brewing has tried convincing us that barrel-aged stouts and barleywines can indeed be enjoyed on 90-plus degree days - and gosh darnit, they make a convincing case. On this episode, we dive into the first three 12-ounce Deep Wood beers for the release season and find some very pleasant surprises. We also let things get a bit wavier than usual as we have our first on-air THC beverage, which instantly switches on Craig's snack detectors. Also, we try to make sense on an anachronistic pizza place; Craig's chugging sixteen percenters at C2E2; and Ryan reluctantly befriends his local Pop Tart guy to get those rare drops. The beers are as good as two guys playing three guitars. Beverages Reviewed Reverb Splash: Black Cherry Lime (THC & CBD drink w/ fruit juice) Thundertaker (Imperial Rye Stout aged in bourbon barrels) Strawberry Jacket (Barleywine Ale aged in bourbon barrels w/ strawberries) XV - Fifteen Year Beer (Blend of Barleywine Ale & Ryewine double barrel-aged in bourbon barrels w/ cherries)
The Pacers had one of the most unexpected runs to the NBA Finals in NBA history, but it came at a huge cost as Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles in Game 7. To discuss the magic of that playoff streak and to find out what is in store for Indiana next season, after the Haliburton injury, Caitlin Cooper (Basketball She Wrote) joins this episode of Fastbreak Breakfast. Among the many topics, she discusses when she first had an inkling the Pacers could make the Finals, her thoughts on Myles Turner leaving for Milwaukee, and she has a dark revelation about Pop Tarts!Join the listener slack only at patreon.com/fastbreakbreakfastGet 20% off a Stathead annual subscription with code FBBFTry Underdog Fantasy and use code FBBF to get a free pick, plus a deposit match up to $1000: play.underdogfantasy.com/p-fastbreak-breakfast.Use promo code FASTBREABREAK at SeatGeek for $20 off your first ticket purchaseCheck out the merchandise at teepublic.com/stores/fastbreak-breakfastEpisode 807 (S11 Ep. 32)

The conference war of words over who is better and has a better scheduling plan is both awesome and awful...but is it necessary to get scheduling uniformity before they agree on an expanded playoff model? Are there more questions about the Ducks entering this season than the last two...and who is a Pop-Tart guy?
Day 2 on the FM Dial...they quickly check to see if Swag is still alive...a tribute to Ozzy, then they dive into all the nuggets from CFB media days and the start of NFL training camps...which conference scheduling model is the best, which hold out situations are the most mind-boggling. A visit from Ian Furness of KJR in Seattle...Stat or Story and can you trust a non Pop-Tart guy?

Dr. Jack Stockwell (www.forbiddendoctor.com & www.jackstockwell.com | Phone: 866-867-5070), a GAPS Practitioner and NUCCA Chiropractor, discusses the biggest concerns for health and medical news from a natural position over a Western Medicine approach. He starts today's episode with the foods common in America, yet banned in Europe — and why these items are banned. First on the list is cow's milk with RGH/RBST . . . a growth hormone designed to increase milk production. Europe has banned these hormones altogether. Next on the list is Tostitos Salsa Con Queso which contains Yellow 5 & 6, which comes from petroleum and is linked to hyperactivity and allergic reactions in children. Drug-treated meat is also permitted in America and banned in Europe. Raktopamean makes animals leaner and is banned due to its potential impact on cardiovascular and overall health in the humans who eat the drug-treated meat. Certain flavors of Pop-Tarts are also on the list of permitted in the U.S. and banned in Europe because of falsified nutritional values on the box. The U.S. allows outright lies, where European food laws are far more strict in honesty of nutritional value. Plus, the Blueberry and Wild Berry flavors of Pop-Tarts contain Blue dyes. That brings us up to farm-raised salmon, which uses artificial coloring and chemicals applied to farm-raised fish to mimic the color of wild-caught salmon and to make them grow faster. These chemicals have long term health effects on humans, including cancer. In Europe, farm-raised salmon has to meet strict organic standards and be free from these chemicals. Another food that exists here and in Europe, but completely different — McDonald's French fries. McD's fries served in the United Kingdom contain three ingredients: potato, fat and salt. In America, McD's fries have 17 ingredients, including “flavor enhancers” and other addictive chemicals. To round out this episode of Good Day Health, Doug and Dr. Jack discuss neck health and why NUCCA Chiropractic care is important in overall health, why garlic supplements from naturally derived garlic is healthy for us (especially from Standard Process, which you can buy on ForbiddenDoctor.com), and why you should add onion root to your daily nutritional intake. It's Episode 50, and honestly… what better way to celebrate than with a voicemail about a student who threatened to poop on a teacher's desk? This week, I'm unpacking end-of-year exhaustion (May energy is real and it's violent), plus the wildest school stories you sent in—including kids confessing their sex lives mid-English class and throwing Pop-Tarts in rage. We're also talking about failing infrastructure, disappearing school funding, and how to literally show up to your state legislature and say, “Hey boo, we gotta talk.” And if you've ever asked a student a simple question and immediately regretted it… welcome. You're home. Takeaways: A student skipped class and promised to defecate on the teacher's desk if she told. (Yes, really.) Why a district told teachers to use buckets because the water was off—and how that might violate health code. What actually happens when you show up to your state legislature to speak—and how to do it without getting immediately ignored. Welcome to The Not Old Better Show, Art of Living series. I'm Paul Vogelzang, and today's episode is for anyone who's ever thought, “Maybe you can joke your way through life after all.” Because our guest today—Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, bestselling author, and unofficial king of common sense absurdity—Dave Barry—has done just that. Yes, that Dave Barry. The man who warned us about exploding toilets, tangled with telemarketers until they stopped answering their own phones, and wrote the kind of newspaper columns that made you snort coffee out your nose on a Sunday morning. He's been called “the funniest man in America” by the New York Times, and in his latest book, Class Clown, he finally turns that razor-sharp wit on himself. Today's conversation is a fun one, although, and you can hear this…I was nervous. At one point during a roundabout question from me, Dave asks: “ iwas wondering wehre you were going with that?” I left it in the edit for your enjoyment. I've talked to 100's of big time guests from all walks of life, like Smithsonian, Prevention Magazine, Good Housekeeping and have never been tongue tied or nervous…not today. That's on me as, Dave is a wonderful guest, and he shares what it was like growing up in a world before Wi-Fi, when entertainment meant throwing rocks and preparing for nuclear war by hiding under desks. He talks about his path from a rock band in the '60s to the pages of The Miami Herald, where he turned exploding Pop-Tarts and Rollerblade Barbie into Pulitzer-worthy satire. And yes—he really was almost crushed by a bale of airborne cocaine. Florida, folks. But more than just laughs, Dave opens up about his late parents, his unique upbringing, and the emotional truth behind humor that doesn't always mean happiness. It's a rich, honest, and uproarious reminder that growing older doesn't mean growing dull—and that maybe, just maybe, the class clown gets the last word. Stay with us—because the very funny, very thoughtful Dave Barry is here. And this is The Not Old Better Show, Art of Living series, with me, award-winning host Paul Vogelzang.
