I'M EXCITED TO SHARE THIS EPISODE 56 WITH YOU.  THIS WAS A DAY TRIP WE DID FROM VERONA AND IS ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR ITALIAN TRIP SO FAR. Today's episode is all about Italy's largest lake – Lake Garda and the gorgeous little village of Sirmione. We tell all about the famous wine they make in this region – which is now our favourite. Listen as we take you on a fancy boat cruise on the lake past ancient ruins, snow-capped mountains, medieval villages and fancy hotels. Sirmione is famous for its thermal hot springs and we tell you some of the healing properties of the springs and which hotels and resorts you can visit if you want to enjoy the thermal baths. We wander the cobblestone streets, past a 15th century castle with its stunning moat to the most famous spot for photos – the kissing point.  We tell all about the stunning beaches and views and gorgeous restaurants in the village. Listen to the end where we talk about some unusual shops we saw (well I saw them, Lyle wasn't too impressed) and where we found the massive lemons that were the size of footballs. Hope you enjoy being transported to the stunning Lake Garda and Sirmione in Episode 56. ##Links## https://www.polarsteps.com/ThomasMuellerGelsenkirchen/6693780-sonne https://www.camperstoptorbole.com/de https://park4night.com/lieu/18310/ https://www.garda-see.com/themen/fahrrad-mtb/fahrradwege/garda-by-bike https://www.atv.verona.it/DE/Fahrplane_und_Linien_Verona https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verona

Welcome to episode 1022, another installment of 'On The Road Edition', hosted by Stevie Kim. Today she is in Lugana, exploring the vineyards and speaking with Fabio Zenato, the newly elected President of the Consortium Tutela Lugana DOC. This is part one of 2 conversations with Fabio Zenato. Today they speak about the history, the rules of the DOC, the traditions and terroir and wines… More about Lugana: Lying on the border between the two Provinces of Brescia and Verona, the Lugana denomination stretches along the plain of morainic origin to the south of Lake Garda, within the city of Sirmione, Pozzolengo, Desenzano and Lonato (in Lombardy) and Peschiera del Garda in the Veneto. The “Lugana” Controlled Denomination of Origin, instituted in 1967, was the first to be awarded this status in Lombardy, as well as one of the very first in Italy as a whole. In order to promote and protect it, the Consortium Tutela Lugana DOC was formed, an institute for supervision, defense and promotion that deals above all with protecting and highlighting the qualities of the denomination. How she starts a day in her studio and where she draws color inspiration.   Taylor O. Thomas is an American painter from Birmingham, Alabama who uses gestural painting as a means of making manifest human tendencies, ways of seeing, and the interconnection between the body and the mind.
