Dr Steven R. Gundry is an American physician and low-carbohydrate diet author, most famous for his book 'Unlocking the Keto Code'. He is also the founder of Gundry MD, dedicated to dramatically improving human health, happiness, and longevity through his unique vision of diet and nutrition. Dr Steven joins Angela to talk about mitochondrial uncoupling, specifically how you can eat certain foods designed to turbo-charge your metabolism, effectively wasting calories, enabling you to support energy and vitality while supporting fat loss at the same time. KEY TAKEAWAYS There must be a mechanism by where mitochondria protect themselves. The best example of this is to see it as a kind of pressure cooker, where if the pressure reaches a certain point it explodes. This is prevented by a pressure valve, which is the same method used by mitochondria. Ketones are often misrepresented as some kind of miracle fuel for the body that is desired by every part of physical form. But this is not true. Free fatty acids go to the liver, and the liver converts them to ketones, which are very small acids that can get through the blood and be used as a fuel. This explains why, if you're hungry, you make ketones. The polyphenol compounds were designed by plants to protect their mitochondria from sun damage. Polyphenols that we eat are very poorly absorbed, but we're beginning to see that they are the most important prebiotic for our gut bacteria. BEST MOMENTS 'It's virtually impossible to get kids or adults to avoid carbohydrates for any length of time' 'Ketones are touted as some kind of miraculous fuel' 'These are consequences of that thermonuclear reaction - that coupling' 'Gut bacteria, in turn, make these compounds much more bio-available' VALUABLE RESOURCES High-Performance Health Podcast Series -https://angelafosterperformance.com/podcasts/ Biohack Your Way to Your Best Self - Join My Exclusive Female Biohacker Collective – angelafoster.me/fbc Get a free health check and personalised report www.yourtotalhealthcheck.com Watch my Free Masterclass on how to master your metabolism -www.angelafosteracademy.com/master-your-metabolism Download my free Guide to Harmonising Your Hormones -www.angelafosterperformance.com/hormones Download my  free Fasting Guide - www.angelafosterperformance.com/fasting/ Download my free Guide to Sleep Like a Boss -www.angelafosterperformance.com/sleep Join my free Facebook Community -www.facebook.com/groups/femalebiohacker Get my bestselling book Rethink Health - https://amzn.to/3vbzYOV   Dr Gundry - https://drgundry.com Gundry MD - https://gundrymd.com Gundry Health - https://gundryhealth.com ABOUT THE HOST Angela Foster Angela is a Nutritionist, Health, and Performance Coach. The Plant Paradox by Dr. Steven R. Gundry reveals that gluten is just one variety of a common, and highly toxic, plant-based protein called lectin. Lectins are found not only in grains like wheat but also in the “gluten-free” foods most of us commonly regard as healthy, including many fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, and conventional dairy products. These proteins, which are found in the seeds, grains, skins, rinds, and leaves of plants, are designed by nature to protect them from predators (including humans). Dr. Steve successfully treated tens of thousands of patients suffering from autoimmune disorders, diabetes, leaky gut syndrome, heart disease, and neurodegenerative diseases with a protocol that detoxes the cells, repairs the gut, and nourishes the body. Now, in The Plant Paradox, he shares this clinically proven program with readers around the world. Fatigue is an SOS flare from the body, one that is intended to alert us that something is wrong. In his clinical work, Dr. Gundry has found that his patients who complain of feeling sick and tired all the time almost always have something in common: the inflammation markers of a leaky gut. www.Gundrymd.com

Going through some recently finished and in-progress books. Just writing out a list of different books I’ve been reading with some thoughts. Recently finished Bitcoin Billionaires by Ben Mezrich — I got more interested in crypto/blockchain through NBA Top Shot and the NFT boom. I had some Bitcoin already, but NFT popularity made me realize how little I know about how it all works. This ended up only having high level explanations of Bitcoin. But the whole story of the Winklevoss twins’ second act was fascinating. Almanack of Naval Ravikant by Eric Jorgenson — Great read the week leading up to getting married. There’s plenty about getting wealthy, but the happiness chapters were more timely. The audiobook was my companion on a couple long walks in the city. If you want to mainline some of Naval’s thinking, then this is the way to go. In-progress Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa — Still working on this. I started it in December and just crossed the halfway mark. About 450 pages to go. Somewhat slow going but getting very interesting now. Good reminder to lean into things I might not enjoy but that I’ll learn a lot from. The Infinite Machine by Camila Russo — Continuing to learn mode about crypto/blockchain technology. This book is about the history of Ethereum, which is the main coin involved in the recent NFT a boom. The only history I know of Ethereum is that I wish I had bought some earlier. Just started this but one takeaway is that Vitalik Buterin started by writing for Bitcoin Magazine before building Ethereum. Working Backwards by Colin Bryar and Bill Carr — Mostly here to learn about Amazon’s use of narrative writing instead of PowerPoints. (After seeing @TrungTPhan mention it in this thread.) The Energy Paradox by Steven R. Gundry — I want to get my energy back. Basically: I can rarely stay awake through a full movie after a workday. And when I’m up I just don’t have any, as the book puts it, get-up-and-go (GUAG). I’ve felt better in the past and would love to get back to that. Fast Forward: Hollywood, the Japanese, and the Onslaught of the VCR by James Lardner — Combining some learnings from last year’s books (1) I enjoy reading older books about some recent technology (like Michael Lewis’s Next) because it’s fun to re-live that time without it being filtered through a modern lens and (2) I enjoy reading about Hollywood/filmmaking (one of my favorites from last year was Robert Rodiguez’s Rebel Without a Crew). Next up (maybe… there’s a ton I want to read) Daemon by Daniel Suarez — Continuing the pattern of learning about crypto, I saw this book recommended somewhere. I really should’ve written down where I saw the recommendation because I’ve completely forgot now. Anyway, this is pretty much combining three thoughts: (1) I want to learn more about crypto/blockchain technology and (2) Musashi reminds me that I should read more fiction and (3) I admire Tiago Forte’s thinking and he wrote about the value of reading science fiction. Tiago: “I started reading sci-fi to pass the time. I had good memories of reading Jurassic Park as a kid. I continued because I noticed that it gave me something: a stronger imagination, a disrespect for the merely possible.” Two Meals a Day by Mark Sisson — Trying to get my health back in order (I wrote a long post here). I have more information than I need for my goals but reading books does help keep motivation up. And I can try to share good bits and pieces to better frame my own learning and writing. Soundtracks by Jon Acuff — I enjoyed all his previous books. I’m guessing I’ll like this one as well. I tend to overthink so this seemed like something that might help me either (1) stop overthinking or (2) start overthinking in a more useful way.

The revolutionary program that cures your body inside-out by identifying and eliminating harmful foods like vegetables and grains from your diet. While most of us have heard of gluten, a protein found in wheat which causes widespread inflammation throughout the body. People all over the world have educated themselves about the dangers of gluten and have spent time and money and made sacrifices to adapt to a gluten-free lifestyle. Well, Dr. Steven Gundry is here to tell you that you’ve got it all wrong. While gluten can be harmful in many ways, Dr. Gundry reveals that another common, highly toxic protein is doing far more damage to our bodies. The plant-based protein, lectin, which is found in many of the healthy foods we ingest daily, is responsible for instigating a war inside our bodies. Few people know of the dangers of lectin, but Dr. Gundry has successfully cured tens of thousands of people of auto-immune diseases, heart disease, diabetes, and more by adopting The Plant Paradox Program, which reduces and eliminates several lectin foods from our diet. Are you one of those people that think lectins — proteins that are found in many fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans, and legumes — are actually bad for you?Sadly, there’s probably one reason you might believe this misinformation, a book titled, The Plant Paradox, by Dr. Steven R. Gundry MD.In it, Gundry makes a wide variety of unsupported claims that many of the plants we consider to be healthy are actually bad for you.In fact, Gundry goes as far as to claim, “I believe lectins are the #1 Biggest Danger in the American Diet.”The #1 biggest danger is making a claim like that, especially when there is a significant lack of science to suggest anything so bold, and very little evidence to even be worried about lectins in the first place. Lectins, as they are consumed in a diet, just aren’t an issue. And, unless you’re eating raw kidney beans (why are you eating raw kidney beans!) the alleged poisonous nature just isn’t realistic. In other words: “Lectins are far more active in binding to our cells when they’re consumed in high concentrations and in isolation, as they are in experiments, than when they are consumed in food, as they generally are by actual humans,” notes Dr. David Katz, director of the Yale University Prevention Research Center at Griffin Hospital and founder of the True Health Initiative. In this episode of That’s Healthy, Right?, we’ll look at the problem with taking anecdotal evidence as fact, how some of the healthiest populations in the world live off of lectin-heavy diets, and the only food you actually need to avoid eating (hint: you wouldn’t anyway). To ask a question, read the transcript, or learn more, visit bornfitness.com/thats-healthy-right.Don’t forget to Subscribe to the show, and Rate or Review wherever you tune in!Resources:Legume Lectins: Proteins with Diverse Applications — International Journal of Molecular SciencesLectins as bioactive plant proteins: a potential in cancer treatment — Critical Review of Food Science Nutrition Red kidney bean poisoning in the UK: an analysis of 50 suspected incidents between 1976 and 1989 — Epidemiology & Infection Effect of Some Processing Methods on Hemagglutinin Activity of Lectin Extracts from Selected Grains (Cereals and Legumes) — International Journal of Advanced Academic ResearchHandbook of Foodborne Pathogenic Microorganisms and Natural Toxins — FDAReduction in antinutritional and toxic components in plant foods by fermentation — Food Research International Does Fruit Really Make You Fat? — That's Healthy, Right? Kate Dalley Radio - 0918 Alison Armstrong On Details How Men And Women Relate Daily Through Details BREATHE M21 Wellness Guide Wellness Force Community [ Power Quotes From The Show   What Women Don't Know About Men "Women assume that men are doing everything from a position of power and that they're abusing that power. But women don't know how much men experience being at the effect of us, how much men actually do for us, and how much a man will do to make a woman happy. A man is miserable if he can't make a woman happy. If she's not happy, then he thinks that he's not good enough and he takes it extremely personally. Men need to realize that 95% of a woman being happy is up to her; it's not up to them." - Alison Armstrong The Hierarchy Of Male Instincts "I have lived through many eras as a woman and having studied men. I have witnessed the era of 'emotionally unavailable men,' 'unhealthy men,' and now we're in the era of narcissists. But we have to hold up now; narcissism is what you get accused of when you have all of your attention on yourself and you don't care about providing for others but that can also be explained by a hierarchy of instincts which goes procreate, protect, and then provide. Neither can a man or woman provide when they experience being under attack nor when they think they have to protect. So in 2020, men are having a difficult time providing for women because they're in protect mode with the threat of COVID-19, our economy, and our wellbeing. If a man is not providing, I tell women, 'Just look around; what is he protecting you from? What is the threat he perceives and what is he protecting you from?" - Alison Armstrong     How We Can Win In Love   "I'm always teaching women, instead of asking, 'Does he love me?' ask 'How does he love me?' Instead of asking, 'Does he support me?' ask 'How does he support me?' You will live a completely different life if you're looking for how the thing you want is happening instead of checking off 'Yes' or 'No.' If we're looking for 'How' then we can see it in a rainbow of expressions instead of 'Does he or doesn't he?' and it also allows us to build on something in the relationship, create awareness for what we love about each other, and let them know how else they can love us in different ways." - Alison Armstrong   Links From Today's Show  ION*Biome PAX Programs Understanding Men Understanding Women The Queen's Code Keys to the Kingdom Never Be Ignored by a Man Again Leave Wellness Force a review on iTunes BREATHE M21 Wellness Guide Wellness Force Community Alison Armstrong Facebook Instagram Twitter YouTube Pinterest   About Alison Armstrong Alison Armstrong, author, educator, and creator of the widely acclaimed "Understanding Men" and "Understanding Women" transformational online series, asks the question: "What if no one is misbehaving -- including you?” She explores the good reasons behind the behavior of men and women such as fundamental differences in the ways we think, act and communicate. He also learnt of the debilitating side effects of the prescription medication which drove many of the patients to have to take more and more drugs to ease the side effects. Niraj's Mission Curious to find ways to improve his own health he attended several health seminars and discovered an in-depth approach on how to reach optimum health and vitality by understanding the true origin of disease and how to prevent it. After experiencing great benefits with his own health, Niraj was motivated to devise a scheme to see if he could also help his suffering patients. He incorporates a lifestyle plan called his “healthy shopping lists' that includes simple food swaps, tools, and websites to support their specific condition. The SOMA Breath Journey Niraj is now a professional musician, holistic health expert, and entrepreneur. He runs several successful websites that help others who suffer from stress-related, chronic diseases through his self-composed, captivating meditation music, and online courses. Niraj has composed music for healing centers, spas, and therapists worldwide.   Claim Your FREE Bacon + $10 Off With Our Sponsor - ButcherBox That's right!

The smash hit medical book of 2017 was The Plant Paradox by Dr. Steven R. Gundry. Dr. Kahn took exception with the content and references and wrote an article critical of the book that went viral. He also debated Dr. Gundry on The Doctors Show and won outright. However, the book was on the NY Times Bestseller list for over 30 weeks and he made a fortune from dishonesty. Now he has a new book. Take a listen. Is this one any better? Beware.

NYT Bestselling author of The Plant Paradox: The Hidden Dangers in "Healthy" Foods That Cause Disease & The Longevity Paradox: How to Die Young At a Ripe Old Age. STEVEN R. GUNDRY, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.C.C., is a cum laude graduate of Yale University with special honors in Human Biological and Social Evolution. After graduating Alpha Omega Alpha from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine, Dr. Gundry completed residencies in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Michigan and served as a Clinical Associate at the National Institutes of Health. There, he invented devices that reverse the cell death seen in acute heart attacks; variations of these devices subsequently became the Gundry™ Retrograde Cardioplegia Cannula. It has become the world's most widely used device of its kind to protect the heart from damage during open-heart surgery. After completing a fellowship in congenital heart surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, in London, Dr. Gundry was recruited as Professor and Chairman of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center. There, he and his partner, Leonard Bailey, pioneered infant and pediatric heart transplantation. Together, they have performed more such transplants than any other surgeons in the world. During his tenure at Loma Linda, Dr. Gundry pioneered the field of xenotransplantation, the study of how the genes of one species react to the transplanted heart of a foreign species. He was one of the original twenty investigators of the first FDA-approved implantable left ventricular assist device (a kind of artificial heart). Dr. Gundry is also the inventor of the Gundry Ministernomy, the widely used minimally invasive approach to aortic- or mitral-valve repair, the Gundry Lateral Tunnel, a "living" tissue that can rebuild parts of the heart in children with severe congenital heart malformations; and the Skoosh™ venous cannula, the most widely used cannula in minimally invasive heart operations. One of the fathers of robotic surgery, as a consultant to Computer Motion (now Intuitive Surgical), Dr. Gundry received early FDA approval to use robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery for coronary artery-bypass and mitral-valve operations. He holds patents on devices for connecting blood vessels and coronary artery bypasses without sutures, as well as for repairing the mitral valve without the need for sutures or a heart-lung machine. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Artificial Internal Organs (ASIAO), and was a founding board member and treasurer of the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS). He recently completed two successive elected terms as President of the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association, Desert Division.Dr. Gundry has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology, the American Surgical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the College of Chest Physicians. He is a member of numerous other surgical and medical societies. He is also the author of more than three hundred articles, chapters, and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals on surgical, immunology, genetic, nutrition, and lipid investigations. He has operated in more than thirty countries, including charitable missions to China, India, and Zimbabwe.Inspired by the stunning reversal of coronary artery disease in an "inoperable" patient, using a combination of dietary changes and nutriceutical supplements, in 2001, Dr. Gundry changed the path of his career. An obese, chronic "diet" failure himself, he adapted his undergraduate Yale University thesis to design a diet based on evolutionary genetic coding, which enabled him to reverse his own medical problems. In the process, he effortlessly lost 70 pounds. The equally astonishing results from following what he came to call Diet Evolution in several of his staff led Dr. Gundry to accept a position in Palm Springs where he could devote his efforts to disease reversal. No longer satisfied with repairing the damage of chronic diseases, since 2002, Dr. Gundry founded and has served as Medical Director of The International Heart and Lung Institute in Palm Springs, California, which serves patients referred from across the nation. He is also Founder and Director of The Center for Restorative Medicine, part of the Institute. Its mission is to prevent and reverse the chronic diseases of "ageing" with diet and nutriceutical interventions, using surgical intervention for heart and vascular disease as a last resort. Dr. Gundry lives with his wife, Penny and their four dogs, George, Bella, Black Pearl, and Fanny Foo Foo in Palm Springs and Montecito, California. Lex Talk About PLUS !

Over fruit nu. Fructose is de belangrijkste factor bij nierfalen, iets waarvan je arts, nefroloog (specialist) waarschijnlijk niet van op de hoogte is. Fructose is vergif! Fruit is toxisch snoep! L'x

In today's episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark and Scott talk with Rocky Lalvani Founder of RicherSoul.com—helping people create fulfilling and meaningful lives by taking money out of the equation so they can live richer lives and live their dreams without regrets or debt. Rocky always had the mindset to save money. At a young age his goal was to be a millionaire, so he set up an automated savings plan that would get him there. Coming from the corporate medical world, he was shocked to learn that so many professionals lived at or beyond their means at a 6 figure income, they had no savings to show for it. Join us as Rocky shares how he helps his clients get to the core of their purpose by being intentional and thinking forward. Having a purpose gives you meaning and it gives you something to work towards. And while money is not the destination, having that direction to their deeper purpose, people are more apt to make smarter money decisions. Rocky helps his clients eliminate wasteful spending by creating a financial balance sheet and a statement of cash flow and teaches them to run their life as a business. Rocky also explains why these three components are imperative in creating a richer soul: Health Relationships Spirituality Are you ready to get to your core purpose to start living a more meaningful life? Listen in now as Rocky puts you on the path to a richer soul. TIP OF THE WEEK Mark: Start living a deeper, more fulfilling life. Learn more about Rocky by going to his website at RicherSoul.com. Dan Sullivan is founder and president of The Strategic Coach Inc. A visionary, an innovator, and a gifted conceptual thinker, Dan has over 40 years’ experience as a highly regarded speaker, consultant, strategic planner, and coach to entrepreneurial individuals and groups. Born in 1944, Dan plans on living till he’s 156 and discusses some of the prevention/regeneration techniques to help him get there. How long do you plan to live for?   Key Takeaways: [1:40] Dan plans to live till 156. How long do you plan to live? [2:45] Dan was born in the 40’s. What was the mentality around lifespan throughout the 50s, 60s, and 70s? [4:05] Social security, a Ponzi scheme? [8:10] Regan remembers throwing his dad a ‘halfway party’ when he turned 40. Regan will be turning 40 soon, and it doesn’t feel like he’s even nearly ‘halfway’ there. More like the 1st quarter! [8:40] Dan is having his halfway party on his 78th birthday, which is in 2022. [13:30] MDs today still feel very restricted when it comes to dipping their toes in innovative/new medicines that can prolong life, instead of just curing the symptoms. [15:45] Dan has no allergies, but he also grew up on a farm and the general expectation around the community (jokingly) was he had to eat 2 lb. of dirt by the time he was 10 years old. Life on the farm was a very dirty life. [18:55] Dan asks Regan what he’s most excited about in his field of work? [23:05] There are two different types of stem cells, the ones you have and the ones from the placenta. Dan asks Regan about the differences between the two. [46:35] Dan asks Regan what are some of the basic steps that Regan will do to help a first-time client? [50:15] Dan asks Regan some of the mindset differences between the worst clients and the best clients Regan has had?
