In this time of global uncertainty, Jack Kornfield and Trudy Goodman call us to rise with fierce compassion and become Bodhisattvas of the Great Turning.Join Jack's Free New Course, Stand Up For Compassion: A Free Course and Resource for Navigating Uncertain Times. “You become the imaginal cells in these times. Things fall apart, but in you is the understanding that compassion is big enough to hold all of this, that the heart is big enough to hold all this, that the Dharma is big enough to shine through empires, changes, crisis, and beauty. On today's episode, we're wrapping up our wellness and manifestation series with an incredible interview with Dr. Heather Finley! Ashley recently worked with Dr. Finley for gut testing, and in this episode, we take a look at Ashley's results and findings.Dr. Heather Finley is a registered dietitian with a doctorate in clinical nutrition from Maryland University of Integrative Health. She and her team help people struggling with bloat, brain fog, hormone imbalances, and GI issues find relief from their symptoms and feel excited about food again.Heather struggled with her own hormone and digestive issues for nearly 20 years, so she understands firsthand the impact of nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset on digestive health. Heather believes that gut health shouldn't be restrictive, stressful, and all-consuming. With that ethos in mind, she developed a simple way for individuals to reduce digestive symptoms and add foods back into their diet.Dr. Heather's work has been featured on Good Morning Texas as well as Mind Body Green, Yahoo! For this week's No Dumb Questions, we're kicking it back to this rerelease tackling the question of how to balance and prioritize everything when you're feeling overwhelmed and stretched too thin. Sometimes, you have to let go of something good to let in something great. It's easy to feel stuck in the choices we've made — the job we worked hard to get, the relationship we've invested in, the city we chose — but life is not linear, and it's okay to change your mind.In today's juicy and vulnerable episode, we're talking about the magic that can happen when you take the courageous, abundant path, instead of following “what we're supposed to do.” I'm joined by Alessia Scauzillo, who is the embodiment of following your intuition, embracing the unknown, and pivoting towards the life you really want.It can feel scary to break free from the traditional path, especially when we're urged to keep up with the societal norms of chasing high-earning corporate careers and the marriage-house-baby trajectory, but that formula isn't a reality for many of us, and there are so many exciting ways we can choose to live when we prioritize courage over comfort.Alessia is the founder of A Sculpt Body, an online fitness platform and community of thousands of women. Alessia left her decade-long career in the finance world to build her fitness company after falling in love with wellness. She's hosted over 20 sold out events with over 1,000+ women at top venues across Toronto, NYC and Miami. DOPEamine | Mental Health Support For Creative Professionals
In today's episode of DOPEamine, Christian Rivera dives deep into the intricate dance between seeking purpose and the continuous effort to balance discipline with surrender. Purpose, as Christian elaborates, is an ever-evolving quest that shapes our existence, guiding us through the complexities of life. The Quest for PurposeChristian begins by pondering the nature of purpose, a question that haunts many of us. Is purpose found in emotion, thought processes, belief systems, or is it something else entirely? The journey towards understanding purpose often leads us to explore the meaning of life itself. Whether you adopt a nihilistic view or believe in a more defined meaning, Christian argues that finding purpose is possible and necessary, even in a seemingly purposeless existence.Impact and PurposeA significant insight from the episode is the relationship between impact and purpose. Christian shares a personal reframe around the concept of impact, noting that the lack of impact can lead to burnout. Impact doesn't necessarily mean changing the world on a grand scale but involves engaging in actions that produce feedback, contributing to a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. The Role of DisciplineDiscipline, according to Christian, is not about rigid routines or strict adherence to a particular lifestyle. Instead, it's about finding and maintaining rhythms and rituals that nurture our bodies and souls. It's about showing up in whatever way aligns with our individual experiences and needs.Embracing SurrenderSurrender, on the other hand, is about trusting the flow of life and the systems we navigate. It's not about giving up control but about learning to navigate the energies, environments, and relationships that shape our experiences. This surrender involves a trust in the ecosystem of human connections that support us in fulfilling our purpose.Finding the BalanceThe episode culminates in a discussion on finding the balance between discipline and surrender — a delicate act that requires continuous adjustment and awareness. This balance is crucial for navigating the complexities of life without losing sight of our purpose or succumbing to burnout.Join the Conversation on SubstackFor those seeking to explore these themes further, Christian invites listeners to join his Substack community. Premium subscribers will receive daily journal prompts to aid in their personal exploration of purpose, discipline, and surrender, while free subscribers will have weekly access.Check out DOPEamine on substack for insightful prompts, discussions, and a space to share your journey towards finding balance and purpose in life. Whether it's through comments, sharing your thoughts on flow, or discussing what brings you a sense of purpose, the DOPEamine community is a place for growth and connection.Remember: Finding purpose is not a solitary journey. By engaging with the community, reflecting through journaling, and participating in the ongoing conversation, we can all navigate the complexities of life with a bit more grace and understanding.
