Capitalism is in the spotlight again! In this follow up to Part 1 of Climate Brewing: On the Road to a Sustainable Capitalism, host Susan Oxley continues her conversation with Bill McClain, exploring how capitalism might evolve into a more just and sustainable system. Through discussions of the “triple bottom line,” stakeholder capitalism, waste and circular economies, and the limits of short-term profit thinking, Bill argues that what we measure in business truly shapes what we value. Together, they consider how individuals, companies, and democratic systems can help reimagine capitalism so that it serves not just shareholders, but people, communities, and the planet.  Listen to more episodes in the Climate Brewing series. Download the Transcript. Thanks for listening to Faith Unfiltered!Follow us on Facebook and Instagram!Intro and Outro music used with permission: “For Everyone Born,” Community of Christ Sings #285. At the turn of the 20th century, the American Chestnut tree was the most important plant in the eastern United States, accounting for over 25% of the forest canopy. But in a period of just 50 years, a mysterious blight, an imported fungus, swept the country and killed over four billion trees. Join Jason Epperson for Parkography as we explore the rise and fall of the majestic American Chestnut and the incredible, ongoing effort to bring the species back. A major part of this mission is taking place on one of our nation's most hallowed grounds: the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Learn about the tree's vital role in the American landscape and economy, the devastating chestnut blight, and the pioneering "backcross" technique scientists and volunteers are using to plant blight-resistant seedlings in the memory of American heroes. In this episode of the Green Side Up podcast, Jordan and Jason talk with longtime friend Andrew "Duck Fisherman" Fucarino about his unusual path from family-owned compounding pharmacy to Business Development Manager for Independent Tree Service. Andrew shares how he helped build a niche, cash-pay compounding business (including custom dry eye drops from patients' own blood serum) that was eventually acquired, why burnout pushed him out of healthcare, and how he's now leveraging his Carrollwood network to open doors with HOAs, property managers, and commercial clients. They dig into what real business development looks like in tree care—education, relationships, understanding budgets, and not wasting time on bad-fit work—while mixing in stories about duck hunting, mini-retirement, and reinventing your career in your 40s.

What happens when trees are confronted with rapidly changing conditions in their environment? Do some trees suffer? Do others thrive? What causes this to occur, and can we use this information to create a more sustainable future for our forests and the trees we love?  These, and other questions, are at the root of Meghan Midgley's research her and a select group of colleagues are doing at the Morton Arboretum in Michigan. Meghan walks Ryan through her recent research on Nitrogen adaptability and some of the longer standing issues with salinization, and tree tolerances under urban pressures. It's a fascinating conversation that gave us hope and optimism that solutions do exist, and trees can and will survive. But they made need our help. If you want to learn more about the Morton Arboretum and the work Meghan is doing, take a look here.  To make a donation and help be a part of the solution here's a link to get started.  Enjoy the listen yall!

Rabbi Jacobson will discuss the following topics: 15th of Shevat Why do we celebrate the New Year for Trees? Why don't we celebrate it on the third day of creation, when trees and vegetation were created?  How do trees celebrate their new year? What is the basis of Shammai and Hillel's different opinions of when we celebrate the new year for trees? Can it serve as an analogy for stages in the revelation of Moshiach? Was this day celebrated in Biblical times? What is a 15th of Shevat Seder and how do we conduct one? What are some lessons we learn from trees? Is there a source that Shevat is the acronym of sheyihi besuros tovos? Why is Shevat considered a month of good news when sad events took place in it, such as the passing of the Frierdiker Rebbe and Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka? What lessons do we learn from living with the times, with this week's Torah parsha? How do the three major events in the book Shemos – Exodus, Matan Torah, building the mishkan – reflect three key stages in our personal, collective and cosmic journey? Why is Matan Torah in Parshas Yisro? How would you describe G-d? Is G-d aware of His own existence? Why did the giving of the Torah begin with the Ten Commandments? How did Matan Torah change the world? Why were they not allowed to approach Mt. Sinai, but today anyone can climb that mountain? Why are the Jewish people called a “kingdom of priests”? Is Mitzrayim compared to the meitzar ha'goron, the narrow neck?   Why was there a need for the parting of the sea, when their path to Israel did not require going through the Red Sea? Was the parting of the sea an actual event or a metaphor? What is the significance of the people singing the song of the sea after it was parted? What is the power of song? Shevat Yisro Beshalach What lessons do we learn from the car ramming into 770 on the night of Yud Shevat?  How do I know if I am doing the right thing in launching a new training program based on Chassidus?

In this video, we dive deep into one of the most chilling and controversial alien encounters in American history — the Kelly-Hopkinsville Incident of 1955. Known by some as the Hopkinsville Goblins case, this bizarre and terrifying story involves a rural Kentucky family who claimed they were under siege by mysterious, glowing-eyed, silver-skinned alien creatures. Was it a misunderstood encounter with extraterrestrial life, a government cover-up, mass hysteria, or something even stranger? Join us as we explore the science, lore, and chilling eyewitness accounts behind this infamous alien attack that's captivated ufologists, skeptics, and horror fans for decades. We'll examine the events through multiple lenses — including the biological plausibility of the creatures, possible environmental explanations, and the cultural impact that this event had on science fiction and horror media. This breakdown will leave you wondering: what really landed in that Kentucky field? We'll also delve into how this encounter influenced popular culture, from movies like Critters and Signs to video games and animated series. Could these so-called "goblins" have been cryptids, interdimensional beings, or military experiments gone wrong? Or are they simply a case of misidentified owls and heightened adrenaline?

Is capitalism driving the climate crisis—or could it help save us? In this episode of Climate Brewing, host Susan Oxley talks with Bill McClain, University of Washington instructor, about why business may hold the greatest power for real climate action. Together, they challenge common assumptions about profit, corporate ownership, and the so-called “free market.” Bill introduces the idea of shifting from shareholder capitalism to stakeholder capitalism, where workers, communities, and even the planet itself are considered in economic decisions. The conversation explores how today's system rewards exploitation—and how it could be redesigned to create long-term value for people and creation. This is Part 1 of a two-part series imagining a bold new vision for a just and sustainable economy. Listen to more episodes in the Climate Brewing series. Download the Transcript. Thanks for listening to Faith Unfiltered!Follow us on Facebook and Instagram!Intro and Outro music used with permission: “For Everyone Born,” Community of Christ Sings #285. In today's episode, our guest Kamy Godoy guides listeners through an Alpha Induction, the first step in her emotional clearing process. This practice gently shifts us from the left-brain thinking mind into the intuitive, feeling body where deep emotional work becomes possible. Kamy explains that the Alpha state is similar to meditation, yet is intentionally practiced while sitting upright to maintain coherence and access to the subconscious. What You'll ExperienceKamy leads a grounding, centering induction that includes:• Dropping into the bodyFeeling the heaviness, earthiness, and the quiet shift from thinking to sensing.• Releasing all strivingEntering the peaceful state of non-doing — the space where true healing can occur.• Guided breathworkA rhythmic count of inhaling and exhaling to soften the nervous system and deepen awareness.• Visualizing protective lightA golden beam entering the body, forming an energized sphere that expands into a strong, protective auric field.• Earth-rooted groundingDrawing blue-green energy up from the center of the earth, releasing negativity back down for neutralization.• Full-body emotional awarenessScanning from feet to head to notice sensations, congestion, or feelings emerging from the subconscious.• Third-eye activationBringing cosmic light from above and earth energy from below into the center of intuition.• Witness consciousnessGently stepping outside the emotional experience to observe without attachment. She closes by bringing listeners back to full awareness with a slow, steady count from one to five. This induction mirrors the opening process she uses in emotional clearing sessions, preparing clients for deeper work with clarity and safety.About Our Guest, Kamy GodoyKamy is a multi-level Reiki Master Teacher who co-teaches classes at The Peace Room. We have covered the subject of whether to include the decidual (innermost) layer when closing the uterine incision during cesarean section (CS) on at least 2 episodes. The most recent was in September 2025, when we focused on a published (September 2025) systematic review and meta-analysis from the Green Journal. Back then, we compared those new findings to our prior episode from 2023 on the same matter. Well, we are back at it again with the same subject as there is a new EXPERT REVIEW from the AJOG on hysterotomy closure technique which just came out January 2026. What did these authors conclude? There are also some controversial suggestions made by the authors. Listen in for details. 1. Antoine C, Meyer JA, Silverstein J, Buldo-Licciardi J, Lyu C, Timor-Tritsch IE. In this powerful prophetic message, Dr. Candice reveals what is happening in the Spirit as we cross into the biblical month of Shevat—a season of abundance, fruitfulness, new growth, and the Hebrew New Year of Trees. She explains the Torah portions of Vayéra, Bo, and B'shalach, showing how God appears, comes to redeem, and causes Pharaoh—the enemy—to let go.If you've been experiencing intense spiritual warfare, this episode exposes why: God is revealing hidden idols, tearing down false foundations, and preparing you for divine alignment, acceleration, and promotion. Through the Exodus readings of Exodus 6–13, Dr. Candice shares how God is judging the “gods of Egypt” in your life—patterns, habits, and false sources of provision, protection, and acceptance. This month, the Lord is pruning, refining, and repositioning you for your Nissan crossover, your next-level destiny, and the blessing written in your scroll of destiny. This is a time for praying, fasting, giving, repentance, and realignment so you can step into the fullness of your calling without the idols, burdens, and generational blockages of the past.

Sean shares a story about the time he had a drunken injury in freezing cold Cleveland weather, surrounded by warm weather people.

Trees begin their lives as tiny seeds that sprout roots and shoots when they get enough water, sunlight, and warmth. As a tree grows, its roots spread underground to absorb water and nutrients. The trunk grows taller and thicker each year, adding rings that show the tree's age. Leaves help trees make food through photosynthesis, using sunlight and air. Trees can live for many years and provide oxygen, shade, food, and homes for animals. Understanding how trees grow helps explain why forests are so important to life on Earth.

In this episode of "F-Stop Collaborate and Listen," host Matt Payne interviews wilderness photographer Joy Kachina, who recently won the Natural Landscape Photography Awards for her evocative work documenting Tasmania's endangered cider gums. Joy Kachina shares her deep love and spiritual connection with Tasmania's unique forests, particularly the threatened cider gum, and discusses how her photography is both a form of creative expression and environmental advocacy. The conversation touches on her process of intuitively capturing the “personality” of trees, the challenges of balancing aesthetic beauty with honest depictions of environmental loss, and the role of exhibitions and community in conservation efforts. The episode is an inspiring exploration of using art to celebrate natural wonders and shine a light on pressing conservation issues. The Haftarah of Parshas Beshalach is the Song of Devorah (a woman) because women suffered more deeply under Pharaoh's decree against children, and therefore their joy in the redemption was greater than that of the men. Unlike Pharaoh, who stood between the Jews and their past (Egypt), Amalek stood between the Jews and their future (Torah), teaching us that while we rely on God to handle physical threats, we must fight with every ounce of our own strength against apathy or anything that cools our excitement for holiness. The "New Year for Trees" reminds us that true growth is defined by our ability to produce "fruits"—students and influence—that actually reveal their potential in the world. This class, taught by Rabbi Shais Taub, is based on Parshas Beshalach in Likkutei Sichos Vol. 1.
