Welcome to Episode #33 of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast! This week, I welcome Soveth Path onto the show. She is a yoga teacher from Cambodia, and owns a crystal and stones studio in Phnom Penh which you hopes to expand into a yoga studio one day. Soveth worked for four years at a non-profit, teaching yoga to children in rural Cambodia. She worked with young children, and with pre-teens and said she enjoyed the younger children as they had an enormous sense of playfulness and there was always a lot of laughter. My conversation with Soveth Vath, a yoga teacher from Cambodia, was so sweet and special. Soveth told us stories about teaching yoga to children in rural Cambodia, about their laughter and their excitement to learn something new. I hope that this conversation made you smile. We talked about the Cambodian people and how yoga can be a source of stillness, patience, and compassion. If you're looking to tune into a podcast episode, that's all about yoga in Cambodia, whether it's popular or not, and learn more from a Cambodian yoga teacher, then this is the conversation for you. Tell me more about Soveth Vath Soveth Vath is a yoga teacher from Cambodia, and she teaches yoga in the capital city of Phnom Penh. She taught yoga at the Azahar Cambodia Center for four years, and she now works as a freelance yoga teacher. She teaches Vinyasa flow yoga and has spent many hours teaching yoga to children in rural Cambodia. What to expect in the Yoga In Cambodia episode of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast Soveth was very brave in agreeing to be a guest on the Wild Yoga Tribe podcast. She was nervous about her ability to communicate in English, and throughout the podcast, she conveyed a sweet energy and an enthusiasm for the importance of bringing yoga to rural communities. Yoga isn't available to everyone, everywhere. While yoga is becoming increasingly popular around the world, it is still not available to people in all communities and at all income levels. I feel grateful to Soveth and the work she has spent helping others relieve stress, pain, and to learn about the path of yoga. If you're curious about yoga in Cambodia, please tune into this short, sweet, and special episode on the Wild Yoga Tribe podcast. For the skimmers - What's in yoga in Cambodia episode? Nonprofit yoga initiatives What it's like to teach yoga to children in rural areas Cambodia How yoga teaches patience and compassion Why yoga is not yet popular in Cambodia Yoga is the best medicine Favorite Quote From Soveth Path “There is a theory: yoga is yoke or a union. But, for me, when someone asks me that question, I say yoga is a way of my life. It's like a life full of happiness, a life full of connection between my mind, but the spirit. And yoga also is the best medicine for me.” Connect with Soveth Vath https://www.facebook.com/su.vei.7 Want more? On the song, "Every town," Logan Vath sings, "You don't have to settle to settle down." Logan grew up in Nebraska, but found his way to Hampton Roads thanks to the Navy. On the latest episode of Lyrical we break down that journey and the constant struggle he faces as a restless spirit trying to settle down and establish roots. Logan's lyrics are carefully worded and packed tightly into his songs. You may have to listen once or twice to a song to pick up on all of the intricate details of his songwriting. We did our best to slow things down on this episode and peel back the story, and I hope you'll enjoy it.

Ultima Final Fantasy | The Ultimate Final Fantasy Podcast

This week, Kaleb and Joe, joined by Emilee Mentos, Krinital, and Zoey for a fun filled discussion of our experience with Heavensward. Enjoy! Development   Heavensward began development about a year before its release on June 23, 2015, just a few months before its October announcement at the 2014 fan festival (which we were totally there for).   Apparently they chose the theme of “sky” for the expansion, my assumption being y'know, dragons, wings, flying mounts… Anyway the developers strategically set up the expansion through ARR patches throughout the year, setting up Ishgard Lore.   Along with an expansion of story, the game utilized Directx 11 technologies to better process the game and to slightly enhance the story.   The Heavensward expansion would continue through the Dragonsong War campaign released through patches that now lead to stormblood, but this review will only be covering the game’s original release.                                               Story (took this from an awesome forum post on reddit)   Basically, you go into Ishgard wanting to help them against the Dragons, venturing through the Western Highlands dealing with the heretics and Iceheart/Shiva. Then there's this little segment of finding out where Rauhban is and you free him, fight Ilberd and that stupid Lalafell Yuyuhase, and you also find out, from Lolorito himself, that Nanamo is still alive.   Once all that's settled, you return to Ishgard, deal with a few things and, along with Estinien, eventually get to the Dravanian Forelands and get assistance through the Vath who need you to kill Ravana first, then dragonkin that Iceheart/Shiva knows to head up to the Churning Mists to get help from Hraesvelgr.   You go through Sohm Al, the peak of the mountain in the Forelands and enter the Churning Mists, you help the Moogles up there at Moghome a bit and get the trumpet they use to head to Zenith to call down Hraesvelgr and ask him for help/assistance.   Hrasevelgr basically tells you that in the past, Ishgard was a peaceful kingdom, dragons and humans lived in peace. Until King Thordan and the 12 Knights killed Ratatoskr, one of Midgardsormr's first brood, and ate her eyes. Nidhogg heard of this, and vowed to kill every last human, basically dragons rule.   You also learn that Nidhogg got one of his current eyes from Hraesvelgr. To end the war between man and dragonkin, you need to kill Nidhogg. So you go kill him, get his other eye and return it back to Hrasevelgr. Nidhogg is seemingly dead. At this point, you learn, through the Echo, that all of Ishgard is of the same blood, from when Haldrath had slayed Nidhogg the first time, and learn that everyone is not lowborn or highborn.   So you head back to Ishgard with this juicy gossip, talk to Aymeric and it turns out there's an Elezen/Hyuran woman called 'the Mongrel' who basically is born from a lowborn Hyuran servantwoman and a highborn Elezen. In Ishgard, that's taboo, you don't have mixed children between highborn and lowborn. So at this point, Ser Charibert, one of the 12 Knights, finds out you're plotting to tell, you fight him, and then Ser Aymeric decides to go confront King Thordan about it and from the new info, that we now learn that Thordan is Ser Aymeric's father, but born out of wedlock, makes Aymeric Thordan's bastard son.   Eventually, you make it to the Vault, where Thordan and Aymeric are, and battle against a few of the 12 Knights and save Aymeric. In the process, Haucherfant dies protecting you from the beam of light from Ser Zephirin. You learn of Azys Lla at this point, and eventually head to Ok' Zundu, to talk to the Vanu Vanu about Bismarck, as you learn of an Allagan key that tells you how to get ot Azys Lla.   Bismarck going crazy eating islands, you make a plan to kill him. But Thordan jumps in, takes the key from you and heads to Azys Lla. Cid having noticed the direction of where the key is headed, heads towards there.   We make it to Azys Lla but it is protected by massive aether walls, at this point, there's no advancement into Azys Lla. You learn that Tataru has possible good news about one of the Scions, with the help of Urianger, you find out Y'shtola used Flow, a forbidden spell that lets oneself enter and stay in the aether, when they were being chased by Brass Blades.   With the help of A-Ruhn-Senna, Kan-E-Senna and Raya-O-Senna, you manage to get Y'shtola out of the aether and ask her if she could possibly help. She says Matoya, her old mentor, can help, as she is in Sharlayan, you venture to Sharlayan. Arriving at the Dravanian Hinterlands, where Sharlayan is, you need to cross the river to get to Matoya's Cave, which is hidden.   Going to Idyllshire, within Sharlayan, you find out goblins have worked alongside treasure hunters to rebuild Sharlayan, or rather what's left of it, with the assistance of Goblins and the residents of Idyllshire, you make it to the other side of the river.   You go see Matoya and she asks you to go grab a tome on the subject of manifesting aether as a tangible form, from the Great Gubal Library. You come back with the tome and she deciphers it for you, you take the new information to Cid, Biggs and Wedge and eventually, with the new information, arrive at Azys Lla.   At Azys Lla, with the help of a Assistance Node, you make it to the Aetherochemical Research Facility where Thordan awaits, but not before the Garleans interrupt you with their massive ship. But Shiva and Hrasevelgr jump in and stall their plans.   You go into the facility and get interrupted by Lahabrea and Igeyorhm. You fight them, they merge, you fight 'it'. And then, with the Eye of Nidhogg and white magicite, you kill Igeyorhm. But Thordan shows up, with Haldrath's coffin and the SECOND Eye of Nidhogg and uses it and your other eye to basically summon King Thordan and the Knights twelve; Knights of the Round, more or less.   You slay King Thordan and the Knights twelve, Estinien succumbs to Nidhogg's eyes, and turns into Nidhogg. Now, brief peace is brought to Ishgard, and Ishgard joins the Eorzean Alliance. You now learn that Elidibus has 'summoned' a Warrior of Darkness on the moon.   Then a big primal is awoken at the end, teasing DragonSong.

Miami Sessions with DJ Yousef - M.U.M. Episode 153 - Miami Underground Movement The new decade sees Yousef consolidating his status as an international DJ, Producer, Club Promoter and Music aficionado with ever greater impact. Last year saw him achieve a first, the release of his debut artist album - A Collection of Scars & Situations’ finally laying down on wax a watermark of his effervescent personality. It showcased the different dynamics to his sound as a performer - heavy support from the usual rag tag ensemble of dance music greats; Sasha, Danny Tengalia, Nic Fanciulli, Carl Cox, Steve Lawler, Radio Slave and Nick Curly among them.  ‘A Collection of Scars & Situations’ was more than just your typical DJ led collection of bangers. They are catered for of course, most resplendently by the pulsating tech house monster ‘Legacy’ (bolstered by a superb archaic vocal from Derrick Carter) and the Beyer - esque ‘Equilibrium’. But it’s the haunting electronica of ‘Birthday Thoughts’ and ‘A Moment of Clarity’ that gave the album its gritty edge, two bleak almost dystopian efforts which channel the darker undercurrents of electronic music perfectly, DJs, clubbers and the Music media were universal in the praise.  “Legacy” was picked up for global single release by Renaissance. It garnered plays all over specialist dance radio worldwide (most notably John Digweed, Carl Cox and BBC Radio One’s Pete Tong), as well the coveted DMC single of the week; it was dubbed “one of the stand out tracks of 2009”. When Yousef was asked to contribute an essential mix from the world renowned Creamfields, he set about remaking the track into the ‘Terrace Edit’, taking the track into a newer and fresher direction (two further ep’s are set to drop for renaissance in 2010).  It continued the mutual love affair between Yousef and Germany, the hub of worldwide electronic music. He signed two new EP’s to Mannheim’s premier league label Plastic City, and after season long support from Sven Vath, “Come home” was released on the world’s most followed electronic music brand Cocoon. It blew up, cutting across the spectrum of house and techno, making ‘Essential new tune’ on Pete Tong’s Radio One show, with consistent support from John Digweed, Laurent Garnier and of course Vath himself. A certain dj names Sasha fell in love with the composition so much he asjked to remix it, which he has in fine style (out on cocoon in mid 2010). Yousef was then signed to Berlins’ leading DJ agency WILDE for his bookings in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, while he remains in the hands of Safehouse management for the rest of the world, also home to Carl Cox.  The international love has never been stronger for Yousef. The first international DJ to play the troubled nation of Syria. Ibiza, with its arcane hedonism and wild party ethos has always served as an adequate stomping ground for his cross genre grooves. And of course he’s back there this year... with a vengeance! South America has also shown a stronger allure for Yousef, with further ground being broken in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil increasing his continental lustre. A recent 6 date tour on Indonesia showed how far yousefs reach is getting. Closer to home, he clocked up his first London Residency by inking a monthly deal at Matter, the brainchild of Fabric impresario Keith Reilly. Matter NYE saw another iconic Yousef DJ set, taking over from Vath at 2am for the inaugural Cocoon party and delivering a three hour onslaught of fierce and brutal house and techno to a 3500 capacity club.  In 2009 yousef remixed Dj Sneak, Fergie and Tobii to devastating effect. 2010 has already seen an earth-shattering remix of Moby’s ‘Wait for me’ completed, plus his touch gifted to Gilles Peterson’s Havana Band project and new kid “Teva” with yousef’s floor devastating circus rework of “you cant teach this”. He remixed two UK legends (X-Press 2’s ‘Say What’ and Fatboy Slim’s ‘Local Town’, the latter featuring rasp voiced rudeboy Jamie T), whilst Nic Fanciulli and his Saved Imprint continue to show their love, with the aforementioned album’s ‘I Suggest’ out now with the superb ‘Firecracker’ on the flip one of two 2010 ep’s for nic’s imprint. The other “my explanation / dis information” already championed by tong on his rather well known radio weekly as well as support from underground house dons Rebbot and Nick Curly among many others. Further Eps for renaissance and debuts on carl cox’s Intec and seminal (vath started) Harthouse records both follow this year… Of course with a follow up on cocoon too…  Yousef’s own Circus Recordings also notched up a year of releases since launching in 2008, churning out eight Yousef singles which have illustrated the madness and hedonism of the club he has created.  Yousefs monthly event celebrated seven years at the apex of Liverpool’s club scene in September last year and he is still pulling line-ups together that makes the accountants balk and the clubbers froth at the mouth. House music at its kaleidoscopic best, heavyweight names such as Laurent Garnier, Luciano, Loco Dice, Dubfire, and Eric Prydz have faced off with the of the young upstarts of the underground like; Jamie Jones, Tim Green, Sebo K and Davide Squillace have been amongst others for debut Liverpool shows. Oh and they got their thug on with Cocoon, bringing Vath and his imperial hedonism to Liverpool for the first time ever in a scintillating party that peaked on every sensory element. There’s little the club night hasn’t done or booked, and with this year already seeing return slots for John Digweed and Derrick Carter, plus debuts for Heidi, Guy Gerber and the irrepressible groove icon Ricardo Vilalobos, there’s seems little left for them to prove. So, just when things couldn’t peak any further for circus Radio One were looking for a club to host the 500th essential mix party. They considered every major club worldwide, circus was (in the words of radio one) the only choice…. Yousef and his long lasting partner Richard went to work, pulling in Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Aeroplane, of course Pete Tong and yousef himself. A 4 hour live global broadcast from circus in its original 1100 capacity club followed. Circus’ finest hour…? Maybe, we’ve thought that before.  It’s this process of constant evolution rather than reinvention which has characterised Yousef’s career, and kept him at the forefront of promoters’ thoughts across the globe. And there’s the small matter of him running the London marathon, raising cash for CALM and showcasing his serious edge to the party reputation he’s always encased. Record Label Owner and Internationally renowned club promoter, it’s a far cry from the excess which defined wilder youth, confirming his professionalism and dedication to the acid house dream.  Whether criss-crossing the globe with his arsenal of varied sounds or impregnating his own individual aural histrionics on wax, Yousef is stamping his identity on dance music and leaving a lasting impression. There’s few who come close in terms of dedication or in the variance of approach, Yousef hits each and every base with alarming regularity. And the best part yet? The journey has only just begun... it’s now a big cliché but, undeniably, but, 2010 really is Yousef’s year. www.yousef.co.uk
